Dr. Jost is far and away the best optometrist I have ever worked with. She is personable, knowledgable and very diligent. She is detailed in answering any questions I have and does so in a way that I have a more complete understanding of the status of my eyes and prescription after leaving my appointment. She never seems in a rush to complete an appointment quickly, instead focusing on providing the best experience and quality of care.The rest of the staff are also friendly, helpful and courteous.After receiving subpar care at other optometrists offices in Boston, Im glad to have found this place.

I had a contact lens appointment with Dr.Cheung. Rushed appointment, the doctor didnt mention anything about the retinal digital pics she took. When I remembered about that at the time of paying, the front desk staff were extremely rude and they were upset when I asked to talk to the doctor about the retinal exam (that they charged me extra for). I wasnt even sure if the doctor had a chance to look at it before I asked. Ive been having eye exams for the past 20 years and this is the worst experience. The only person that was pleasant and seemed un-rushed was the person that performed the pre-exam.

I absolutely LOVE the team at ProOptical! When I arrive for an appointment, there is never a wait after checking in. The front desk staff and Kyle, the optometric tech, are all very friendly and attentive each and every time! When I ran out of contact lenses and had to wait for my next appointment with Dr. Jost for a checkup to obtain another lens prescription, Sandra, the patient care coordinator, was nice enough to provide me some trial contact lenses of the exact brand and strength I needed to hold me over until my appointment - and all FREE of charge!! Finally, Dr. Jost always answers all of my questions and listens to my concerns. She is very caring and knowledgeable...Overall, this is one of the best optometrist teams Ive ever had the pleasure of dealing with! I would definitely 100% recommend choosing ProOptical for all of your optometry needs! Wonderful patient care, always!!

I had an excellent experience here! Every person I encountered was extremely pleasant and professional. Very clean, safe environment. I was able to get in for an appointment the same day I called - but waited until an appointment the following day. I initially tried to be seen at another center where I was mis-scheduled and treated poorly. I would highly recommend this office! Very accommodating.

Have had consultations with three of the optometrists at Pro Optical Boston. The actual consultations have been pleasant and efficient. However, when I called to ask for help when I ran out of contacts unexpectedly, I was told in so many words to get lost. The receptionist stated that the doctor did not feel comfortable renewing a prescription unless I booked an appointment at least 11 days away. She said perhaps I should find another optometrist--and so I did.Re: Response from the owner.I appreciate the polite response you are providing now. The rude dismissiveness of your receptionist when I needed help was the opposite.

I never use the glasses service, but have been getting my eyes checked here for a number of years. Really great optometrists, friendly, easy to work with, etc. Also, when business reopened after Covid and appointments filled quickly, they were really helpful with making sure I had enough contact lenses to last till my appointment.

They got me my prescription lenses super fast! Excellent service.

The front desk ladies don’t really seem to care about their job. You’d think that if you have someone standing in front of you, that they need help or have a question ... but apparently not. Other than that the optometrist was friendly and seemed like she knew how to do her job so that was good. The optician helped me find a good pair of glasses so I was happy with that. Other than the front desk lady who doesn’t seem to care a lot for people that don’t look like they have money, I’d say this place is pretty good.

MD refused to perform eye exam if I wanted only prescription check in order to minimize exposure due to Covid!In my whole life practicing medicine, I have never refused to see a patient.I find this unbelievable.Thank you for your response. There are some inaccuracies:-- I was seen yearly.-- You charge a lot for camera exam, that is out of pocket and not covered by insurance.However, at the time I wanted to limit the exposure due to Covid.

Fantastic local optometrist and eye wear shop. Dr. Jost here is my favorite eye doctor I have ever seen. She is so friendly and professional. I really trust her. The glasses shop here is very helpful in picking out frames, and went the extra mile to make my experience good. Finally, the front desk was knowledgeable in helping me deal with my insurance company. All this plus validated parking - highly recommended.

This was my first time at Pro Optical and I cant say enough about the professionalism and friendliness from every person that I met there. Im very glad that I chose them.

Unprofessional and bad service, especially from the manager (the bald old guy, no offense, but he did not tell me his name). I paid $430 for the lenses from Essilor. I told him I wanted to know the basic information of the lenses, including the prescription and bar code on the bag, and where they were ordered from etc. I think the information is important for ensuring the correct prescription and the quality of the lenses. But he told me I dont know what you are talking about, no one has requested it, you are the first one, you have to trust us... He said he had been working there for 25 years. Unfortunately, he is not professional at all. His attitude could not be worse. The even worse thing was that the left lens was broken. You should check the glasses carefully before giving them to your customer. If the glasses were broken, you should at least honestly tell your customers in advance. You are so unprofessional. How can you make your customer trust you?

I was very much impressed by Pro Optical. The entire staff was friendly, efficient, and professional. I was greatly impressed with Dr. Jost. She spent a great deal of time with me to ensure I had the best possible treatment. She suggested a new brand of contacts for me to try that were more current and I love them. She also sent me out of her office 3 times to allow my contacts time to adjust, so that I had the right lens and the best outcome. I see better now than I have since I started wearing glasses/contacts 13 years ago. The whole team was great and I highly recommend them, to say the least! Great work, keep it up =)

I arrived for my appointment about 15 minutes early. The office was crowded with many patients. I was actually taken into my appointment ahead of the scheduled time. It was very efficient, organized and a wonderful experience. Dr. Kim was fabulous as usual. I’ve been going here for 10 years and will continue.

I have always had an EXCELLENT experience and Pro Optical and could not be happier that I have been seeing Dr. Jost for the last 6 years. She is efficient, thorough, reasonable in her approach, and an astute clinician. The staff at Pro Optical is accommodating and pleasant, and parking is validated for up to 90 minutes which make the downtown location convenient and easy. Love this place!

I have been coming to Pro Optical for all my eye care needs for about 14 years now and have been happy with services they are providing.All doctors there are very knowledgeable and pleasant to communicate with and are up to date on all the latest technology in the eye care field.I have to go there every year due to my vision problems and they have been very good at reminding me of my appointments and making sure that I have all my necessary tests done and that my eye wear prescription is up to date.In all, it is a nice, well organized and modern eye care office you wont regret visiting.

Ive been going to Pro Optical for many years. The main reason I go is Dr. Smith, hes incredibly personable and easy going and will answer any questions you have. Ive never felt rushed through an appt and for someone who doesnt like people near their eyes this is important.An added bonus of going to Pro Optical is the staff. They are able to make recommendations as to how to best use my insurance to save on out of pocket expenses. They too take time to answer questions and dont rush you in or out.

Great business. Highly recommend. Its hard to find great eye doctors and great eyewear in the same location, but Pro Optical has it all. Ive been going there since the mid 90s and their quality of service has always been top notch and never wavered. You wont be disappointed.

This is unfortunate because when I went in the girl who attended to me was really cool and nice. She stated that she was going to put in my prescription for an urgent shipment and text me once they had arrived. Well here I am three weeks and a half later two calls in and nothing. Now I called and they supposedly sent me a message hmmm where I dont know. smh.

Walked in to get an exam and a eet of glasses that day. They had no appointments, but took me when I told them that my FSA money was going to expire that day.Fast, friendly, and expert staff. Employees really work well together. Options were numerous. Highly skilled in picking the right glasses for you.

This place is great. Everyone is extremely friendly and willing to assist with insurance questions or helping to pick out frames. I love how there is free parking, this is great! Dr. Nguyen is fantastic, she is quickly able to give you crystal clear vision and explain all of your options.

When I first arrived, I was greeted by the staff who are friendly and knowledgeable. There was virtually no wait, and I was seen right on schedule which has never happened to me before when it comes to medical appointments. The service was efficient and before I knew it, I had my prescription and I was looking at the wide selection of frames they offer. They worked with my insurance and I only had to pay a $25 co-pay for the entire thing! It was a truly remarkable experience and Ill definitely go back there. I highly recommend going there; be sure to ask for Dr. Jost!

Pro Optical is the best healthcare operation that I have experienced. They have a great staff and Ive never waited to see the doctor. The leverage the staff and technology better than any practice Ive seen. Dr. Nguyen is fantastic, incredibly knowledgeable and has a great demeanor.

Dr Duane smith is my most favorite optometrist. He is so much more diligent than other eye doctors I have seen.

Dr. Smith was a really nice guy and was very efficient with examining my eyes. He explained every test and was able to pinpoint my eye issues using state of the art x-ray technology. Ill be coming back in a year for my next eye check up.

My first time exposure to an eye doctor (Duane Smith, O.D), and both those sets of professionals preceding the Intake visit with the doctor, and the Optician serving my needs and wants, for a new pair of prescribed reading glasses, was all a punctual, reliable, and certainly at-ease experience to me, as a novice and skeptical person in the world of seeing. I highly recommend those professionals at Pro Optical practice.

I have a hard time coming to terms with the surprise that this place is terrible. I dont think the optometrist even knew his job right. And when i requested multiple exam sessions for my contact power, he was like how many times you want to get tested. I will do one last time for you. WHICH HEALTHCARE PROVIDER or a PRACTITIONER DOES THAT? After about 5 months of my exam. my vision was still not corrected properly in my right eye. Another optometrist near my home did the right job for me. Pro Optical was a big let down.I vote to avoid this clinic and place by all means, and especially be very careful when checking with Dr. Duane. Smith. I vow never ever to return to this hopeless optometry clinic

Excellent experience last week at Pro Optical Services, which is super convieniently located on Cambridge Street just next to MGH. Dr Nguyen was friendly, knowledgable and took time to explain her findings from the exam. She also advised on type of contact lenses she felt would be best for me, given my lifestyle and previous type of lens. For eye exams, they offer traditional pupil dilation or for an additional $69 you can have a digital picture taken of your eyes, which you are able to see and review with the doctor. (I went sprung for the digital exam) They have a *pretty* good selection of frames. Office is clean, bright. For contact lenses, they will ship them next day to any address free of charge.

Fantastic service! Dr. Nyugen treated me like she had known me for years; I saw her last year, as this was my annual eye exam. I felt like I was part of the family. Thank you Dr. Nyugen! Youre fantastic!

My experiences at Pro Optical are excellent everytime I go there.My friend at work recommended Pro Optical to me seven years ago when I moved to this area. Dr. Cheryl DePaolo Jost is the best! Last week I called the office to request an emergency same-day appointment with her. In less than 1.5 hours I was sitting in her office. She removed an eye lash from my left eye which was red and swollen.The Pro Optical staff is always very helpful when I call for an appointment. And, like another patient said below - the office is absolutely beautiful.I would definitely recommend Pro Optical to anyone who is searching for excellent eye care.

I visited Pro Optical as they had a very high review score. However, Harrys sloppy mounting of a pair of 500 dollar progressive lenses on my frame disappointed me.I am a retired College Prof of Engineering Mechanics and have been wearing glasses for over 40 years. I saw the frame-lens discrepancy, the minute I looked at myself on the mirror.Harry was not on duty so Anatoly was attending me. He also saw the discrepency and looked surprized. He said he will try to correct it but was unable to do so after 2 visits to their workshop in the back. Then, Anatoly came up with the argument that my old lenses were measred by computer and the exact shape duplicate was ordered. So, my old lenses must have been discrepent also.Anatolys argument also disappointed me.There was little to do as I was leaving Boston in 3 days so I accepted the faulty lens mounted frame.Meanwhile, when I asked for my old lenses, he said one was missing and strangely did not give me the other pair in his possession.Anatolys faulty mountings explanation and the disappearance of my old lenses were further disappointments wrt Pro? Optical....

Terrible service. Gave me the wrong glasses I ordered. Gave my actual glasses to another client. I had to wait another two weeks for my glasses. Now they dont want to mail my glasses after I waited approximately a month and a half for them.
