WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF I COULD. TERRIBLE OVERALL EXPERIENCEI went there a week ago while in town for a funeral because I fell and hurt my shoulder pretty bad. Within minutes of being there they took X-rays. 2+ hours later of sitting in the waiting room holding my arm up in obvious pain, I finally get called back. Not once during this time was I offered anything for my pain or given any kind of update as to how long the wait may be. The waiting room was relatively empty. Once brought back, I was told they see no damage and given a Motrin 600 and sent on my way. No aftercare. Nothing for continual pain. No sling. I get home and notice that the swelling has increased so I seek a second opinion. I was in and out in an hour, given a sling a medication to help mediate the pain so I could sleep comfortably and set up with an orthopedic to ensure there was no ligament damage. By far, this hospital is the worst hospital I have ever had the displeasure of going to.

I was sent to the ER from quick care and eventually admitted. I was there for three days. This was by far the most positive experience with a hospital I have ever had. The entire staff from housekeeping on up were professional and courteous. People make the difference in any organization and this hospital has great people. Nurses Dee and Ameera are the cream of the crop. Thank all of you at Christus Bossier so much.

Eight weeks ago I fell on my elbow and tore up my shoulder. I was taken to this emergency room and laid there for an hour before anyone even come in to check on me. I watched the nurses on their cell phones probably on Facebook. I hollered to ask if anyone was going to give me pain medication. 30 minutes later someone finally came and gave me a pill. The doctor came in for about one minute to say he was going to get x-rays and finally they did come. He finally came back in and said it’s not broken that I would probably have to see an orthopedic doctor. I was in severe pain and could not move my arm. They have MRI machines and CAT scan So I wonder why they never checked it out that’s why I was in there. I had to wait another week to see an orthopedic and come to find out my shoulder was torn completely up and had to have surgery. I felt like no one cared anything about my injury when I was there. If I could give them zero stars that’s what I would do. It’s unfortunate that people do not want to work and take care of people that are in pain.

Went in at 4am Wednesday morning for severe abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding ..after waiting several hours for a doctor to even come in and tell me I was pregnant. He did a ultra sound and said it’s too early to see anything , check my cervix and said it’s normal for first trimester could be signs of a miscarriage and to just rest my pelvic. Nurse gave me Tylenol told me I needed Rhogham because of my blood type left the room and never seen her or the Dr again. Not to mention the entire time I was in there hurting and crying all I could hear is laughter and talking from the nurses station. Around 8am my partner went looking for the nurse (different nurse) don’t even know his name. Apparently it was a shift change. He said we’re waiting on the shot it’s on it’s way. Waited another 45 minutes and still said it’s on its way. I dismissed myself. After going home , literally 2hrs later I was calling ambulance because my pain was so unbearable ( not my first rodeo being pregnant, mother of 3)went to WK Bossier the did two ultra sounds, one on my belly and the other was internal because they couldn’t see anything. Well come to find out it was an ectopic pregnancy and I had to have an emergency surgery. My stomach was full of blood. All that could have been seen earlier had the proper care been done. They love telling you they pray you get better but don’t giva rats about you. I WILL NEVER EVER STEP FOOT IN THERE AGAIN!

If you have a serious emergency that you think is heart related do not go to this place. I came in with symptoms I have squeezing chest pain serious stomach pain to the point that I couldnt even think straight. thankfully it was not a heart attackI probably would have died if it was. They made me sit until triage was available no one even came out and checked on me to see what my problem was until triage. I told the security guard that I was afraid it might be my heart still nothing. After I was checked out by triage and told that it probably wasnt my heart I just chose to leave.

Took a friend in with severe autoimmune disease, difficulty breathing, vomiting. He has been hospitalized 4 times in the last year with issues. There was no one in the waiting room when we arrived. 3 hours later, waiting room was filled and many people walked out. Staff was rude and not empathetic at all. He left without treatment because he was so uncomfortable in the chair. Was initially told they were waiting for a bed, then that he just needs to wait as long as it would take abs there was no time frame. Worst emergency room experience ever, will probably have to call an ambulance when he deteriorates even more.

I went there a couple weeks ago for an accident that happened while I was at work, & can’t say that they were of any good help... Not only where they extremely rude, but also bombarded me with questions I couldn’t answer because I was confused on what had happened to me. They couldn’t even get my discharge papers right, as they gave me a blank, unsigned copy, & it’s been almost two weeks, and haven’t been able to go back to work because I don’t have any proper release papers... They ALL acted like they had something better to do/somewhere better to be, all while I was confused & in pain... If you want to get checked quickly but inaccurately, this is the place, but if you want to be thoroughly and carefully looked after, all while getting treated decently, you might want to go get seen somewhere else...

Due to their care, they made my health issue a priority. I was treated very well here. I came for a severe headache and nausea in the middle of the night. My nausea worsened during triage and I began vomiting. They took me back to a room quickly and the doctor promptly ordered Toradol and reglan injections. After those medicines and some fluids, I started to feel much better. They also did some labs to make sure nothing more serious was going on. I highly recommend this stand alone ER for medical concerns. They DO NOT treat major trauma patients because they are not a full hospital. Everyone was very friendly for having to work in the middle of the night. I appreciated the kindness because some healthcare providers do not understand how painful and debilitating headaches can be at times. Thank you all.

I am shocked. I am currently still in pain, nauseous, and VERY upset. I was at Willis-Knighten on Monday after 4 days of abdominal pain, nausea, and low-grade fever. I was only getting worse, so I went back after being urged by my normal doctor to use Christus. It was pretty quick to get back in the room, but then my nurse was called away and she said she would be right back. I waited for over an hour, only seeing someone once I had enough and called the nurse in to at least give me something for my nausea (which they never did). 30 minutes later Dr. George came in, looked me over for a second, then diagnosed me with a muscle spasm. He ran no bloodwork of his own and no imaging. All they did was take my temp and did a basic urinalysis. When I asked for a second opinion, the nurse acted like I was crazy. I told her I was uncomfortable with my diagnosis after insufficient testing, and asked if they had access to my previous labs from the other ER. She said, and I quote, You said you went to the ER and were told your labs were clear. You want us to run them again? (Which by the way I never said. In fact, I said I did not see my results.)I am not a fool. A muscle spasm is not accompanied with persistent low grade fever and nausea. I came in with a previous diagnosis of a UTI, and was now experiencing lower back pain and tenderness. The first thing he should have done was check my kidneys, yet he seemed to think that a urinalysis was sufficient enough to diagnose me with a MUSCLE SPASM.This place seems to be asking for a malpractice lawsuit or something because that is the kind of thing to get you one. Still debating on if I wanna go to the DHH & Joint Commissions office or not, but moral of the story is save your energy (and money) and go to Willis-Knighten. It can be a longer wait, but it is worth it.UPDATE:So, I ended up going to my Dr and it turns out my UTI had turned into a kidney infection that was almost septic. They put me on more antibiotics that were way stronger.

I was here last week, and again this week with family members and i noticed how the nurses weren’t moving with urgency. There was a guy who said he was going septic, a lady with kidney failure, someone who seemed to be paralyzed by a car, and they all sat for a hour without any care. The staff is inconsiderate. There was a security guard with short hair, who was rude to a lot of people as well. She was loud talking to other employees. The staff don’t display what i read about this hospital, not very christian.

I had to visit this ER after having numbness and tingling in my hands and face. From the moment I walked in until the moment I left I was absolutely impressed by the attention, thoroughness, and the genuine care that I received from the Front desk, the nurse, and the doctor that treated me. This facility is beautiful, I had almost no wait whatsoever, and I was in and out with the treatment and the answers that I needed. I would highly recommend this ER, especially when compared to its competitors. This is the only ER I will visit for myself and my family from now on!

My wife has been having something going on with her heart for the past weeks. Last night was the 3 time we had to go the the ER. First time at a Christus ER. Best experience we have had yet. We didnt actually find out what is actually going on yet, but were able to find something else out, that might be related to it. The staff was so kind & caring & willing to listen to the patient needs, symptoms and concerns. Also the ER doctor on staff took the time invested all options to figure everything out. What even a big plus, was the Christian atmosphere. All in all, the best experience we have ever had in an ER.

Do not go here!!! Weve been there before and had okay experiences, but tonight was atrocious! My husband went in for excruciating pain in the left side of his chest. The dr agreed to do an xray but refused any other tests. He wouldnt explain any ofhis decisions, either. My husband tried to explain that hes leaving tomorrow am to go back to St Jude in Memphis with our son for 2 months and that the pain has become unmanageable and we dont believe in just without cause. (Hes seen our primary physician and 2 urgent cares. They all assumed it was a pulled ligament or muscle and gave him muscle relaxers). The dr at Christus ER in Bossier walked out during the middle of his exam. In the middle of my husband trying to tell him that hes diabetic and has a history of elevated liver enzymes and diverticulitis. After the xray my husband asked the nurse if he could speak to the dr again. She gave him 100 questions wanting to know why he needed to speak to him. My husband finally talked the dr into doing a blood draw. When the xray came back and nothing was abnormal he wrote my husband a rx for more muscle relaxers. When my husband asked what this excruciating pain was the dr said I have no idea. Im an ER dr. I dont dig into things like this and make diagnoses. Im here to save lives. Ive never heard of a physician walking out on a patient in the middle of an exam and not listening to what the patient has to say. If there was an emergency that came through, I could totally understand that, but he just didnt care. He was incredibly rude the entire time. We will NEVER be back to any Christus Hospitals ever again.

My wife and I went to the ER for worries of a ectopic pregnancy. The nurse that was with us was extremely nice and was there for whatever we needed. The physician that was assessing my wife was extremely unprofessional and show no compassion whatsoever. He had a passive aggressive tone making statements such as “you got five weeks something in there” referring to how far along my wife was pregnant. They tested her hCG levels and he came back saying her levels where way to high and that we would have to get a ultrasound to see if we are losing “it”. So this automatically put me and my wife in distress. We waited for hours until we got the ultrasound done when the amazing tech told us our baby was safe and how old our baby was. He also told us that my wife’s hCG levels were normal (not high like the physician told us) for how old our baby is . When we got back to the room the physician brought us a tiny sticky note with her levels saying “here are your numbers from your test, you hold on to that and don’t lose it, it’s not my job to keep track of your numbers that’s your job I’m not going to do it for you. Get your numbers checked in two days and if it goes up your fine if not you lost it” then he left... that was it, thankfully the nurse cam in and got us an official print out of her numbers with information of who to call to get the numbers checked again and was there for us if we needed anything else. Me, as a husband, to watch my wife already worried if we were losing our child, get talked to in such a passive aggressive/un professional manner was infuriating. I would never recommend this hospital to anyone until that physician gets trained on how to actually care for his patients.

My wife was seen there on 15 Mar 2018. The doctor on duty was not a participating provider with BC/BS. Now dated on 19 Oct we get a bill for $1142.03 for an ER visit. It should be illegal for a hospital not to disclose that a physician is not a participating provider. Be careful, they will stick it to you. Better off going down the street to Willis-Knighton. I would give CHRISTUS negative stars if I could.Update: CHRISTUS reached a deal with BC/BS after about 9 months. This is still a ridiculous practice and should not be allowed. Recently, I spent 8 days and 7 nights here. Starting in the ER, the folks at the front desk who asked me why I was there were super friendly and didn’t ask endless questions, just for ID and insurance.Within just a few minutes an RN was taking me back, I assumed for triage, but nope she took me straight into an ER room. Already waiting for me there was the respiratory therapist. Within 5 minutes the doctor was in my room. He was amazing. So personable and full of wit and sarcasm which I appreciated. He told me he’d get me fixed up and admitted. I asked if we couldn’t possibly wait until I’d had some treatment and then decide whether or not to admit me. He agreed. After the treatments and countless tests and exams he came back in and said, “Ruth, you can’t breathe, your body isn’t getting enough oxygen, and your heart rate is sky high. There’s just no way I can let you go home.” Then he lovingly patted my lower leg in a very soothing manner. I know this may not seem like much, but if you’ve ever been in an ER or hospital, you will know that personality, compassion, and warmth go a long way toward putting somebody at ease.I was moved pretty quickly onto the hospital side of the facility and the staff continued to be kind, compassionate, patient, and willing to do whatever was asked. This is a small place (9 beds in the ER and 6 in the hospital) so they all got to feel like family. The next morning a doctor came in and said he needed to do another EKG and then left the room. He came back a few minutes later and told me he’d gone out to pray for me. Sweet! The nurses were all fantastic and had such patience with me. They were giving me so much medication (IV and oral) and I just told them I was scared to take all that stuff together…you know, wasn’t all that likely to slow my respiration too much? I know they know what they’re doing, but it was SO much medication to me. On the first night the nurse promised she’d check on me every hour so that I could rest assured that I wasn’t dying. Call me crazy, but that’s just what I needed and it put my mind at ease. Yes, I can admit I wasn’t being rational, but she was happy to comfort me in a simple way.The CNAs were awesome and did so much for me; covered my IV for showering daily, brought me fresh towels, changed my linens and so on. The lady who cleaned my room and floor every day was the sweetest. One nurse in particular I really hit it off. On her first shift with me she asked if she could pray with me. Yes! So she came over, held my hand and prayed. We were together for days and she was such a comfort to me.A few days in my IV and arm began to hurt badly, swelled up and had knots up and down. So my nurse that day said I’d have to have a new one. I expressed my fear and she said she’d go over to the ER and get one of those nurses to do it. She said that she could certainly do it herself, but since the ER nurses do it all day every day why not let them do it. This is great care – no ego. No talk of how she’d been a nurse for 30 years. She simply wanted the best for her patient and she made sure I got it. So another nurse comes in to place the new IV and she put me at ease instantly and that IV stick was amazing – better than the daily blood draws I was getting. We chatted about this and that and about the bromeliad plant a friend had brought and other plants. A few days later she comes into my room and said she had something for me. Inside a little Ziploc bag was a round brown ball covered in a little dirt. She said it’s a rose of Jericho plant and she’d just ordered several for herself and wanted me to have one too. Then she showed me pics of the plant on her phone. How cool is that!I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s the farthest hospital from our home, but should I need it again in the future I’ll make that drive. I’ve had more than my fair share of ER and hospital visits, both for myself and others, and this is hands down the best treatment I’ve received.
