I have rarely seen an office so concerned with the well being of their patients. The staff is so polite and competent. The phone is answered promptly and calls are returned immediately. Dr Trate has called me personally when I had questions. He has made me feel very well taken care of. I thoroughly recommend this office for both their compassion and thoroughness.

I had a procedure done and would like to recognize my prep nurse, Debbie and my recovery nurse, Jennifer. They both were outstanding in taking care of me during an anxious time. Nurses have there hands full and I’m thankful for nurses like these two that go above and beyond.

I was in need of an office visit as a new patient and got a very quick appointment due to someone canceling and opening up a spot for Dr. Diamonti to see me. From the appointment process to the visit today I was very impressed with this office. Everyone was helpful, caring and prompt. I have not used health facilities or worked with healthcare professionals for most of my life. I spent a half day with Appalachian in areas bewilderingly new, and frightening. It would be hard to imagine being in better hands. With their direction and guidance I entered areas of concern for my health which I never imagined being guided through, and now I hope Im well on my way.

Appointment for screening colonoscopy. Check in was pleasantly efficient, the normal routine of updating insurance, etc. I think it was DeAnna who checked me in and discharged me afterward - cagey move App Gastro, staffing the front with polite warm smiling faces. Danielle was the MA who called me back. She was no nonsense, professional and navigated me well through the normal rigamarole of taking my vitals and prying out my lifes medical history. Lindsey Henley NP was the provider I was scheduled to see. She entered the room as soon as the MA excited. Mrs. Henley is a quiet professional who took her time, thoroughly educating me and patiently answering all of my questions. I left the visit knowing the risk, benefits, and alternatives concerning my procedure and appreciated the time spent listening to my concerns and not staring at a computer. Patricia concluded my visit, scheduling me for my procedure and reviewing the tedious details of prepping for the same - she was great. This was my first experience with App Gastro - I highly recommend!

I went to AppGastro a few weeks back for my initial tummy issue and had the pleasure of meeting Lindsey Henley!! She is an absolute delight and I am happy I was able to meet her! She really has such a great manner about what she does and it is clear she has a passion for what she does as well. Today I went in for a procedure and I was pretty nervous about it. I was welcomed by Deanna, Debbie, Debbie (yes, there were two different Debbies and they were both wonderful!) and Amber! They were all so pleasant and so comforting! I was immediately put at ease and knew I was in good hands. Dr. Diamonti is absolutely wonderful and I am very thankful I was able to have him do the procedure today. I was treated as a partner in my care; provider Lindsay discussed treatment options with me, and took my opinion into consideration when prescribing medications. Unlike so many medical offices, AppGastro schedules patients to minimize wait times. I would not hesitate to recommend this practice to anyone.

I went in for an initial appointment to have a colonoscopy, I scheduled the procedure, because of covid I canceled ( well in advance) I later called to reschedule the procedure and was told I would have to come in for another initial appointment as it had been 92 days since the appointment and their rule was it had to be within 90 days! What a way to treat people in these trying times.

I just recently had my first colonoscopy with AppGastro in Boone. I have had 3 others performed in Gastonia NC in the past. My first experience with AppGastro was extremely positive. I found the office staff very courteous and professional in setting up appointments and scheduling the procedure. After a very long night prepping for the early morning procedure i was certainly anxious about the procedure. On the morning of the procedure i found all the staff i interacted with was very friendly and accommodating to my needs. All of the nursing staff i encountered which include the nurse who started my IV, the recovery nurse and the procedure room nurse all greeted you and was very pleasant. Dr. Diamonti was extremely efficient and explained the procedure and the results thoroughly . The CRNA that administered the anesthesia was professional,friendly and provided answers to all my questions. I would give a the AppGastro a overall rating of 5 starts.

I’ve had two clinic visits and an upper endoscopy done at App Gastro. All my experiences have been pleasant. My endoscopy nurse was great and made sure my IV was comfortable as I get queasy easy. Leah Leska is very caring and spends a lot of time with me. Even the front desk staff are friendly. As a teen, going to a specialist can be intimidating, but they have made my experience a pleasant one.

This has got to be the worst office ever. I placed an emergency call Friday from a procedure that was done on Thursday and never received a call back. I call back on Monday with another message about the same problem. I finally received a call back 4 days later and they still couldn’t provide any answers. The nurses are great, but the doctor doesn’t care about Th e patients at all. It’s all about the money. Google answered the question more thoroughly.

My husband has been a patient of Dr. Trate for many years. Dr, Trate and the staff have always taken excellent care of him. We are blessed to have such a caring team to take care of him.

Friendly staff and on time! The FNP -BC took her time and listened to what I had to say. I felt like she really cared and not just another number. Would definitely recommend if you need a gastroenterologist!

The administrative staff at AppGastro are very professional and willing to assist you in any way they can.Dr Trate has performed several colonoscopies and endoscopies on myself and my extended family throughout the years and he is always efficient and answers any questions thoroughly for you.Most recently I’ve been under the care of Leah and she is amazing. She takes her time listening to your concerns and truly I’ve never felt better!!

My case is difficult and Lindsey has been so helpful, warm and friendly. I nervous about my upcoming surgery and she was very reassuring and told me she cared about me and my well-being.My only complaint is that they are the only GI specialist in the county and surrounding areas and getting an appt with even Lindsey who is a CNP and usually keeps more open appts, is booked solid. I wasn’t going to have a follow up for my endoscopy for a month and a half! I ended up seeing a surgeon in another city and working with them I was able to get in sooner for my follow up but even the waitlist was incredibly long. Too long for me to feel like waiting for a cancellation was an option. I was informed they are getting more practitioners this summer but that doesn’t help me right now trying to deal with a rather severe, scary and painful problem. The staff has been good to me though and worked with me the best they could.

I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS COLONOSCOPY FACTORY WHERE PATIENTS APPEAR TO BE TREATED LIKE ANONYMOUS INANIMATE OBJECTS.I was not allowed to meet Dr. Trate whom I was told would be performing my colonoscopy until I was in the operating room and being anesthetized. Thats frightening. Maybe that practice is a strategy developed because his apparent lack of bedside manner is off-putting and might drive patients away before the $$$ procedure. Thankfully, Medicare rules required that it be performed in the hospital rather than his offices backroom operating suite. (Medicare must have a reason for requiring the more expensive but cautious option, right?) During the scheduling appointment I explained that I havent tolerated the prescribed prep solution in the past, but have done well with an alternative. However, they ignored my concerns and insisted. Predictably, it didnt work on the first attempt and I had to reschedule the colonoscopy after a uselessly miserable sleepless night. Upon rescheduling they made me take it again and it caused me to vomit repeatedly, which my history informed was predictable and totally unnecessary. Then, after the procedure, I was shocked to discover that they dont take photos of the colon during the procedure unlike doctors elsewhere. My whole experience with this practice was unprofessional and unacceptable. While, during office appointments the staff pretends caring and kindness, they do not really listen and understand and, ultimately, seem to be merely gatekeepers and stenographers as they dont appear to provide medical treatment. Next time I will drive the 500 miles necessary to see my highly rated gastro who actually practices medicine rather than run a robotically cold and uncaring production line.

I had a great experience with Dr. Trates office. The front office staff, nurses, anesthesiologist and Dr. Trate himself provided an excellent level of care and professionalism. Whenever I called with a question, when it was clear that my white coat fear was kicking in and during my procedure everyone was kind, courteous and very efficient. I have to specifically mention that Rebecca can do the best and most painless IV Ive ever had. Today (day after the procedure) you can only tell it happened by the tiny pinprick on my hand. I highly recommend this office.

I was told and confirmed by 3 independent employees of this practice that my colonoscopy was a screening and covered by insurance which wouldnt cost me anything extra. After the procedure was performed and I was drugged and leaving, they hit me with a bill. That is fraud in my book and I would advise to AVOID this practice!

My experience at APP Gastro is the the worst I have ever had at any doctors office. They cannot take a message accurately, send records accurately, and all the details in my chart were wrong every time I went despite me correcting them each time. I had two symptoms, but they were only capable of recording one in my file. When I had an invasive test, they did not do all that they should have because no one wrote down both physical complaints. Now I really need to have that inconvenient and invasive test done again. No one has bothered to apologize, and they have all been defensive when I have spoken with them on the phone. I have never left a negative internet review of any other business in my life, but they warrant the effort.

As a colonoscopy patient - the experience has always been professional, caring, and knowledgeable. I have had 3 colonoscopies due to a family history of colon cancer. The prep is minor compared to the threat of cancer that I could face!
