Overall we could not have been happier with the late life service they provide. My grandmother and great aunt both lived their last days here and they passed comfortably with family around quality care. Also the cafeteria food is great value 😁

My Uncle has only been there a few days but the bad experience came with getting him into this place and now they are trying to get him out. The place itself is gorgeous and the people that work inside the facility are wonderful. The issue with us lies in the fact that when were getting him in there one intake admissions personnel told us he was 100% hospice house ready after her evaluation of him. The next day we get a phone call from a different intake personnel named Patsy stating that is 100% not hospice house ready without even evaluating him. He is terminal with less than 6 months left to live because his heart and lungs are failing. His heart is only beating at 30% of what it should and his breathing is unstable. He cant even eat without getting short of breath. My sister at least talked her into coming to at least look at him in the hospital before she denied him. When Patsy barged into the room 20 minutes late for the appointment she looked right at my Uncle and said Oh he is not on oxygen we cannot take him. We were floored. She did no assessment. Asked him no questions. Then she started to talk to me, my mom and my sister like we were the scum on the bottom of her shoe. Belittling us with her tone, looks and body language and not to mention all the condescending things she said to us. She got very close to my sisters face at one point with her hands in the air and if she had gotten any closer I would have been calling security. She spoke to my dying Uncle like he had done something wrong and he never said a word during the whole nearly 30-40 minute ordeal. She tried to go call the Dr. about 10 minutes into everything before even assessing him. Me and my sister kept pushing her to assess him though and then when she finally did she realized how bad his breathing was and said he could come to the hospice house until he finds another facility to go to. Now the Dr.s at the hospice house are saying that they can get his breathing stable and when they do he is to be shipped to another facility immediately or he will be charged daily for room and board. If the Dr.s really can get his breathing under control that would be wonderful but nobody else has been able to so far. We already tried another facility before this one and he ended back in the hospital after a week. He keeps getting bounced around because he is unstable. We just want our Uncle to be in a place where his symptoms can be managed.

My brother transitioned to death at the N Fort Myers Hospice 13 yrs ago. We couldnt have asked for a more compassionate group of people. My father was one of the last residents of Hospice @ Joannas House in Bonita. He actually lived there for his last 3 years with hospice care, sort of like a nursing home. And we paid for his rent. All his hospice care was provided for just like anyone else, at no charge to us. Covered by his Medicare benefits. He was cares for with the utmost compassion and professionalism. The caregivers, doctors, nurses and counsellors treat not just the patient but the family as a whole. The passing of a loved one is always difficult. No doubt about it. Sometime you have to decided if you are prolonging life or prolonging death, the inevitable. Its always easier to blame someone else for the pain that death causes. If you have a loved one who requires ANY extensive medical care, know your rights as their medical advocate. You do not have to leave the room if you are asked by staff. They do this for the patients dignity when they bathe or clean up incontinence events. But you can stay if you want. You can also refuse any treatments or medications you dont think are necessary for you loved one. You can request a list of the medications and treatments being providing and request a meeting with the Doctor at any time. Do your homework. Get you power of attorney in place for you loved ones care.I could not have asked for better care for my father and brother in their last days with us.I cannot say enough good things about the care and compassion provided by the staff.

Excellent service, my dad has had a stroke 2 times in 3 months, pacemaker, 7 stints, heart surgery, pig valve, chest cut open, blood infection, 3 ruptured disks, 2 are complete gone, appendix ruptured, appendix removed, had all his teeth removed surgically. The list goes on. My dad Bruce Edward Jackson was admitted to hope hospice on 5/22/17. He had 7 seizures in 2 hours and the nurses here were on top of it every time. They did an outstanding job. Ive never seen such good care. The place is magnificent, a 5 star hotel looks like a dumpster compared to this place. I highly recommend it to anyone. My dad went to a place in Naples FL, it was called Lakewood rehabilitation. I give that place a 0. Terrible service, no one checks up on the patients regularly, all Haitians that cant speak a word of English, they dont know what your saying, my dads clothes kept disappearing and they would say the laundryman lost them. No they steal everything!!! This place needs to be shut down. The place is disgusting!!

I have nothing but great things to say about Hope Hospice and Joannes House. Everyone we interacted with both in our private residence and then at Joannes House, was gentle, accommodating, thoughtful, and knowledgable. Joannes House is well kept, the rooms are large and quite nice, and the facility has lots of features to make everyone feel peaceful and comfortable. And lastly, the nursing staff were so kind and provided support for everyone in the family. Thank you all for assisting us during this very difficult time.

This is a wonderful place to be at a traumatic time in ones life. I drove up from the FL Keys in a panic and arrived at nearly 11:00 pm. Even at that late hour (and on a holiday weekend!) I was met with warmth and consideration. The facility is beautiful, CLEAN and calming. They have taken excellent care of my mother and have made every attempt to care for my needs as well. I highly recommend this facility should the unfortunate need arrive for you or a loved one.

When I lost my wife suddenly in 2014, the grief counselling at this Hospice was instrumental in helping me move on with my life. Hospice also helps people who lost loved ones suddenly, which I did not know. If you lost someone or know someone who did... please... consider Hospice. They are also dedicated to help the survivors grieve in a healthy way, recover, and lead a happy life.Everyone who has lost a loved one deserves to be happy again.

This place is amazing. They are taking great care of my dad for his last days. They are making him comportable in his last days which is way more than what the hospital can do. This place is somewhere that I can believe my dad will be cared for.

Hope is the Worst!! The nurse who came out almost dropped my dad, and he sustained a severe injury due to her negligence. Almost a week has past and not a word from the doctor. They are all talk, but ZERO action. Get private help if you can afford it. These people are not skilled and do possess the compassion needed for this level of care. The elderly deserve dignity at the near the end of their life, and Hope could care less. My father is an amazing man and deserves better.

A truly amazing place. I live in California and my mom was at the end of her life in Florida. I arrived in from a hectic day of traveling at 1:00am and they brought me in to her room and made a bed for me. I was able to spend the last month of her life by her side while they took very loving care of her (and me). The entire staff was so comforting and helpful including the nurses, personal care helpers, the kitchen staff, the housekeeping staff, the security guards and the volunteers. They all contributed to making a very painful experience bearable. Since I have been home, I have also benefited from being in touch with the grief counselor by phone to help with my grieving process.

Horrid company. No one answers the phone. The nurses are wonderful, but the administrators and anyone else tasked with the daily operations are horrible. They pumped my father full of needless medications and he went nuts. Made a peaceful, loving and quiet passing into a terrible, anguished fight in a hopeless attempt to get him calmed. Absolutely would NOT recommend Hope Hospice to anyone I care about. The only bright lights were the two nurses Eva and Eileen.

DO NOT entrust your loved ones with this warehouse. Their only agenda is to keep patients coming and going for financial gain. I truly believe Joannes house rapidly sped up the death of my mother with morphine given in high doses and too often. And also suffocation when their supposedly turning the patient, but require family to leave the room. Everything about the process turned my stomach and had every fiber of my body knowing something wasnt right. Its been 6 years now and I think about this everyday. The only reason Im posting this now is because the FBI has released a memo on hospice in Dallas,Tx. It hit the nail on the head with my experience. I hope and pray their investigation continues to Florida and across the nation to expose the truths of Joannes house, and similar places that operate illegally and immorally. I only wish I read a post like this one, and looked deeper into hospice before my mother arrived there. Dont make the same mistake!

I would like to share my experience with everyone thinking of bringing their loved one here. On August 20th, 2017 my mother decided she could no longer fight her cancer at home. Needless to say I completely understood but always new she wanted to stay home till the end. Hospice came at midnight to transport her to this facility. This was the beginning of the best decision she made. From the moment she arrived her care from the nurses, personal care assistants, doctors, cleaning staff, cafeteria gentlemen, volunteers, and even the transport gentleman were caring and loving. Each person had their own ways and all were in my mothers best interest. The personal care assistants were spectacular. Their care and concern was for her and not because it was their job. I honestly feel my mother (Elizabeth Trnka) could not have received any better care from me. Also, I would like to mention the support the staff gave me (Lori) was as loving as my family members. Thank you Joannes Hospice House staff for making the worst time of my life more bearable. Hugs to all of you who cared for my family. The Sperrazza Family

My Father-in-Law was very well cared for and if anyone has a problem they should take it up with the administration and keep on them. In our case the nurses and staff were extremely senstive to the family and provided any help we needed. There facility was clean and welcoming to the families - providing access to sleep there if you wish. They have many accomodations for the family - kids room, chapel, cafeteria (which was wonderful), and a family room to get away from it all. His last days were spent with people that cared about him. And the turning thing that they do and have us step out - I think was to give him dignity. Suffication? I dont understand the previous post. All I can say is visit there - get the tour and decide if you want to go into a nursing home where you are truly forgotten or go here to die in peace and comfort.

The staff and facility at Joannes House at Hope Hospice made my sisters final days dignified, peaceful and comfortable. They nurture both the patient and their loved ones with love and caring. These angels on earth assured our family that we did not have to agree to any procedurers we did not desire, like redressing a surgical wound multiple times daily, they managed my sisters pain and cleanliness. The facility is lovely, peaceful, and serene. Loved ones can stay night after night in comfort on pull out sofa or recliners at the bedside so as to never leave a loved one alone. Joannes house offers a kitchen, value priced cafe with homemade comfort foods, 24 hour complimentary coffee and baked goods, security staff. Care givers and medical staff give loving guidance through every stage of life.and are infinitely patient in ansering questions and explaining the process. I had to chuckle when one nurse, Missy, said that the staff serves both the patient and the loved ones because it was so clearly obvious in every way. When my sisters final hour arrived, they kindly comforted my son and I. They then speedily removed any medical devices, and created a reverant and beautiful enviroment complete with fresh sheets and gown, a colorful handmade quilt, flowers, candle and bible. Shortly, after death, when our parents and other family arrived the scene was one of serenity. God Bless all who enter and those who carry on the ministry of mercy to the patients of Hope Hospice.
