I was referred to Dr. Kohl by my regular Ophthalmologist as there was some concern with my eye pressure in my right eye. Dr. Kohl tried some eye drops to lower the pressure but after the drops failed to achieve the desired result , he recommended that I undergo a trabeculectomy. and we scheduled the first available time in January 2021 for the procedure. The surgery was done at their outpatient surgical center and was an extremely easy and painless operation. All of the medical staff were very nice and professional and their demeanor put me at ease right away. They use a light anesthesia, like in a colonoscopy exam, and you are asleep for the duration of the procedure. Post surgery I had no pain or any discomfort and followed Dr. Kohls post-operative instructions closely and had zero complications. After a few weeks I was released from any restrictions and was able to return to all of my normal activities including a robust exercise schedule.My trabeculectomy was an astounding success and my eye pressure dropped to a perfect range. It is impossible to see the site of the surgery looking at the exterior of my eye and I have almost completely forgotten that I have a bleb in my eye.Dr. Kohl had told me on my first appointment that he treats every patient as if they were his family. His kindness and concern for his patients is exceeded only by his skill as a doctor and surgeon. I feel extremely fortunate that I was a patient of Dr. Kohls and cannot adequately express my gratitude for his treatment.

I would highly recommend Dr. Douglas Kohl. He has greatcredentials and is a wonderful surgeon. He answered all myquestions and concerns regarding my cataract surgery & I wasvery pleased with the outcome.

Dr. Kohl was so thorough. Im so glad hes doing my cataract work. One EE so rude I refused to have her return to me and was kindly accommodated. He did my husbands and he insisted that I see him as well. Ty fr. Now I have peripheral vision and I can see color 1st time in 5 years! Not only that I am not wearing glasses. I will have to but I never expected to see so well again. Am teased bc a new world opened for me and Dr. Kohl sits on the right hand of God in my heart. He was so happy for me and I am not going anywhere else but there for my care. Having worked in the medical field until disability struck forcing me to close my practices; I am so impressed by how happy the staff is. This tells me so much! Be prepared to wait an unusually long time even if you have an early appointment. Also, the tight spaces make it difficult for wheelchairs and walkers, which are a majority of the clientele. Michelle and Dr. Kohl are extremely proficient making sure to give the best possible medical care at the end of the day. Unfortunately, the equipment is antiquated and you still need to use drops for dilation for the machines...For a top medical center in Boca and the sheer amount of patients, I would expect a more updated facility...
