Our 6 month old puppy decided to get into a fight with our truck door and cut a decent size chunk out of his back and we called there after hour line and Dr. Brent Bales responded super quickly and was able to see us in less then 15 minutes was super professional and good at calming first time puppy parents nerves about what just happened but they ended up keeping him over night and stitching him up and we brought him how the next morning! We both are super impressed and wouldn’t take our dog anywhere else!

I do not think our experience could have been any better. I was thankful they recognize that while our need was not an emergency, they did not want our pup to be miserable over a long holiday weekend. Therefore meeting our need without any hesitation, and before I could voice it. Very impressed and pleasantly surprised that we were seen the very same day. Thank you for taking care of our girl!

We were passing through town and our dog got sick. Our home vet is about 2 hours away. I called Bluffton Animal Climic even though we weren’t clients they got us in the same morning! We were seen, diagnosed and paying within 15 minutes of appointment time! The staff was very friendly and attentive to our dog and my questions. I was very happy and would recommend this vet to anyone! Thank you for helping us out!!

We called in because my dog had hurt himself on the ice. There first question was “How soon can you be here?” They made room for him and treated him as though he was the most important patient they had that day. The vet did a very thorough exam and made sure he knew exactly what was going on. Then I received the bill and was very surprised at how low it was. I will never take my pets to another Animal Hospital. I love the Bluffton Animal Clinic and would recommend them to anyone with a pet or any other animal in their care. A perfect 5 star experience.

The beginning of January I adopted a cat from the shelter. I was given a voucher to take her to the vet for A checkup.When I took her I mention to the doctor that she was having drainage from her eyes. He did not look at her eyes he just looked at her face and said that it was probably because she had been in a shelter and maybe low humidity. The draining continued even though I had humidifiers working. Took her in today and she has pink eye!!! Disappointed that the previous doctor did not check her eyes and now she has had to be uncomfortable with this infection.

Never gave options to save our dog after which we discovered from our new vet that we go to who said that he could have had several more years with the right pain management and medications. They Also never told us that our little dog had cushions syndrome or had the markers for it and we only found out about it when we decided to start going to a new vet and needed his records sent over after requesting them (which was like pulling teeth) because the new vet saw it on his chart and they said oh yeah he had the markers for it for two years!! He could have been treated for that for two freaking years!! And now his lifespan has been shortened because of them as well!!! (And more recently our friends pet, though website says they are a vet hospital and emergency care, they complained about getting an emergency patient after which our friends dog died waiting too long to be seen 🤬! As well as my MILs cat needed to be seen as hed not been well (both within the last few weeks) and they pretty much said they couldnt fit him in or help him, they couldnt even suggest where we could take him that would see him right away...he could have been dieing, we thought he might have been poisoned!! Most of them are always rude in person or on the phone. Then they wonder why they lose clients! I dont write reviews normally, especially sh#@*y ones but just finally had to. They clearly do not care about animals.

The best place to take your animals

My year old pup had parvo and overnight they did not check on her or give her an Iv. She died after they closed. They wont watch your animals. I have a dying cat and we are doing better keeping it alive. Overnight is when they dont care.

When our senior cat became ill, they had us bring her in right away. They quickly diagnosed her, reassured us about her recovery and status, and from the receptionist to the vet to the technicians and interns they turned a stressful experience into a compassionate caring one. I’ve recommended them to my family and friends.

Absolutely the worst veterinarian!! No blood tests to find what’s really wrong with your pets. Just gives pills and sends home then they die due lack of effort from the so called veterinarian. This place should be shut down and reported to ASPCA

This place is awful. It smells horrible and has for over a year every time Ive been inside. They are unbelievably rude when answering the phone, and refuse to answer questions unless are forced into it. The doctor has been at lunch the last two times Ive called and was told his lunch was from 11am - 2pm. The building is cold and always dirty. The price is low, but not worth the money they charge. Id recommend any other clinic nearby over this one. Horrible staff, extremely rude, and probably the dirtiest and most bad smelling building Ive ever been in.

This place is complete bs. The vet there is really mean to the dogs and dont take them out. When I took my puppy in for the first one I got a warm welcome but when the vet came in and checked in her. He was really forceful and mean. Then a couple days later we took our puppy in again and her has to stay in over night and stuff my wife found out that they keep the dogs in the kennel and have pee pads down and dont change the pee pads. The vet also bitched to my wife about how we dont take care of our puppy when we just got her and the previous owners didnt treat her right or feed her properly. We were doing everything perfect and giving her food 24/7. When my wife went there he kept talking bad about how she doesnt take good care of her and how that he should call the cops of animal abuse because how bad the puppy was that wasnt our fault. It was the previous owners faults and me and my wife are tying to get her healthy but she got some flu or something and she has to stay over night. 10/10 would not recommend his place. Go to the vet in Berne. Waaaay cheaper and nicer.

I highly recommend! I have primarily dealt with Dr. Huseman the last 13 years and will have to say he has always been honest with me about my doxies conditions. He has always answered my questions and sometimes even explained conditions that could happen with them. I have always found the gals to be very helpful and friendly.I recently took my youngest doxie in, she was extremely ill, to unexpectedly find out she had a large mass in her stomach. At that point, Dr. Huseman gave me all my options. I made the decision to end her suffering and through tears said my goodbyes, the whole time they showed complete compassion. Brandy even carried her to the truck after and gave me a hug....that meant the world!That is just one example of the above and beyond service we have gotten from them.

Bluffton Animal Hospital operates irresponsibly, without care for their patients, and without properly informing their clients as to their pets’ needs. I was told, for example, to “read a book” about Basset Hounds rather than get veterinary advice concerning this specific breed. We had several animals come through this business; we had Basset puppy (puppy exams and shots) and a lab mix (rabies vaccination) at this vet recently. Believing in supporting local business, we stuck with it despite other unfortunate events up to this last issue. After receiving the last bill for our lab’s rabies shots, I was baffled over the costs, inquired about them, and was marginally informed that ‘that’s how much it is.’ I was never consulted as to the type of shot (1 year versus 3 years) until after the visit. The office staff merely hides behind some obscure “protocol” that should be known to all clients. The office manager has lied to me at least 2 times, and no effective communication is applied to deal with issues (discrepancies occurred between my visits and the final client documentation). It was not possible for me to find out how much the 3 year rabies vaccination was because the office staff didn’t care to look it up, and I was not informed that my lab would not get a physical exam but I had to pay for one. Or, as the office manager told me, pay for an office visit instead. The office manager lied in her reply and said that I asked for a refund, which is absolutely not true. I called after the visit to find out why my lab did not receive an exam. I was rudely informed that I should be glad they didn’t charge me for the office exam instead. I did not ask for any complimentary services at any time.When I was denied a prescription to purchase our puppy’s heartworm medication through an online pharmacy, once again, I called the vet and asked for the reason. The office manager said she didn’t know – I needed to set up an appointment with the vet to find out – just to contradict herself a minute later and said she overheard the vet tell the online pharmacy that I am no longer a client of theirs and their ‘protocol’ will, thus, not permit the submission of the prescription.I filed a complained with the BBB because I had already paid for my puppy’s exams and shots – but would now have to do it again somewhere else in order to get the heartworm pills! Subsequent to my filing of a BBB complaint, I received the complaint’s answer that had many myths embedded, which seemed to suit the staff (who apparently failed to communicate with each other when filling out the information. I spoke to two different vets but only one answered and conflicted what the other one said). I agreed to their offer for heartworm pills for my dog covering 6 months for free (despite the untruths that were listed by Bluffton Animal Hospital in their response) in exchange for my removing the negative Facebook rating and to not return to their office.My husband attempted to pick up the 6 month heartworm medication but was denied by the staff. He was not told the reason why; as is Bluffton vet’s typical response, he was prompted to seek an appointment with the vet, who is never available, to discuss some discrepancies. What the discrepancies are, my husband was not privileged to know. The staff made it known that they were aware of the removal of the social media post and the receiving of my response to their response regarding my initial complaint.Pets are peoples’ ‘children.’ I expect my pets’ doctor’s office to care. However, now my puppy has been without heartworm protection due to Bluffton Animal Clinic’s proud and unprofessional staff. I’ve had many pets over the years, but I have never been treated in this manner by a business or have had similar experiences.
