I am so thankful to have found Basha as a speech pathologist for my son. She has a multifaceted approach to speech therapy that produces results. She clearly cares about her clients and making sure they succeed in reaching their goals. I have been blown away with the progress my son has made this year, and have had so many people confirm his improvement to me. He is clearly proud of and confident in everything he has accomplished in speech, and we have Basha to thank.

Have been working with Basha for a while now and all I can say is she is heaven sent! She understands patients and what they are going thru, she is flexible and has this friendly, professional and welcoming aura that would surely leave a smile to you and your patients face after each therapy.

I found BN Speech Therapy via Google search when my daughter aged out of her school program and sat on a waiting list for other programs for over half a year. We couldnt be more pleased with the results! In just over half a school year, out daughter has overcome her problems with making R-sounds! While every child is different, I appreciated the vast range of possible causes that Basha explored with her and the different activities used to practice - very kid-friendly. My daughter loves going to sessions, which we did in-person at times and remote via Zoom at times. Scheduling was simple and we were easily able to adjust if a conflict arose. We did direct payments as insurance wouldnt cover the therapy and we were able to make payments automatically, which was helpful. I found it to be affordable. I am so thankful we found BN Speech Therapy!

After my childs school speech therapist kept saying were missing something in regards to his speech and development, I sought out a second opinion and landed with Basha. She does a very thorough look at multiple aspects of speech beyond basic development and had the thought that one of the main issues for my son was a posterior tongue tie and sent us to a pediatric dentist that looks at airways and the entire mouth. He agreed that my son would need a frenectomy. Basha worked weekly with my son to strengthen and stretch his tongue pre-surgery and continues to do so post surgery as well. She is engaging and fun for my son to work with and does a great job of finding the things that interests him to make it personal. I had 4 different people come to me within less than a week after surgery and tell me what a huge difference the procedure made in my sons speech and their ability to understand him. Im beyond thankful that we found Basha and that she continues to learn and enhance her field and thus help us and others like my son.

Bad experience.

Basha did an amazing job working with our 5-year-old son. His speech rapidly improved over a 6 month period, and he enjoyed the sessions so it never felt like therapy to him. She also took time after each session to discuss his progress and strategies that we could use as home. We highly recommend her!

Teaching my son, age 7, the vocalic r sound in English after coming home from a culture that did not use it seemed like an impossibility! Basha was positive and encouraging from the start. Less than 4 months later, he has conquered that sound and improved on several others. She gave an appropriate amount of homework and explained each weeks tasks clearly. He enjoyed seeing her weekly, playing games with her, and soaking in each tip for success that she gave to him! We are so thankful that we found her!

When I took my daughter to Bloomington Normal Speech Therapy, she had been struggling in school almost three years. The school had no more advice than to keep working with her. Finally, we met with Basha, and she quickly diagnosed my daughter with severe dyslexia. She began speech therapy with my child and she quickly began to improve.Beyond, treating my daughters difficulties with communications, Basha acted as an advocate for us. With Mrs. Ontiveros help I was able to work with the school system to assure my daughter receives the services she needs. I believe that taking my child to Bloomington Normal Speech Therapy has given her the chance to realize her potential and gain her confidence back!

One of our children has been seeing Basha for the last 18 months for dyslexia therapy. Bashas experience and knowledge shine as she adapts things for our child, monitoring frustration levels and adeptly shifting when things get too hard. She is great at her job, but shes also great at reading and understanding people. For us, this has been just as important to our childs success as her experience. We cannot recommend her highly enough.

Miss Basha has been so patient with my quiet and timid son. She has helped him to progress with his various speech difficulties and has been resourceful and creative in finding ways to personally motivate him.

She is very patient and kind while working with him, and she also takes time to explain what they are working on and what I can do to help him at home. We’ve been bringing my step-son to Basha for a little under a year. He has grown into being able to use difficult sounds in conversation. Basha uses a variety of methods and changes those methods depending on the need of the child to see what works for them. She has been great.

My son was diagnosed with a speech delay at age 2.5. We brought him to have another evaluation with Basha right after he turned 3. She has been working with him for the past 6 months, and we have seen a remarkable improvement in his speech. In just 6 months, he has gone from a severe-profound delay to moderate. As his mother, I could understand some of what he said to me prior to his working with her. Now I understand most of his speech, and, more importantly, others who are not as close to him, such as friends and acquaintances, have commented on how much his intelligibility has improved over the past 6 months. My son loves working with Basha and is always eager to attend his sessions. I appreciate that she strives to find the best approach to working with an individual child. I additionally have a degree in linguistics, and I appreciate that Basha takes the time to speak with me as a parent at the end of each session to discuss my child’s progress and skills to work on at home between sessions. My family will continue seeing Basha for my son, and I highly recommend her to any other family addressing a speech issue.

My husband and I were very pleased with the therapy that Basha provided for our young adult son. He had a mild lisp and wanted to improve his speech. Basha was excellent at explaining things and showing him how to correct his lisp as well as giving him exercises for practice at home. She was also very good at making practical suggestions so he could incorporate his practice in a natural context throughout his day. In a short time he improved significantly and is happier and more confident about his speech. We highly recommend Basha as an excellent speech therapist!
