You are better off waiting for an appointment with a provider at IU Health. Dr. Schmalzs office does not inform patients of delays. You will wait more than 45 minutes past your scheduled appointment time and will not hear a single update on the delay from the front desk. They ask you to come 15 minutes prior to your appointment time, so youll just end up waiting for at minimum an hour before you are even close to seeing the provider. What a joke. If there are delays, you MUST inform patients at the time of check-in.

Dr. Schmalz is the “real deal.” He is very thorough in his exams and labs, answers questions thoroughly, and really LISTENS. He takes issues seriously and is never condescending or dismissive. He has always treated me with respect. The staff is very helpful as well. I am so grateful to have his kindness and expertise in this community. I would highly recommend him, especially if you are having issues that are difficult to diagnose.

This office with both Dr Schmalz and NP Woodard took excellent care of my mother. They actually listen. Now I switched to this practice. It is important to have a physician who can listen and not just push the latest pharmaceuticals on you. Highly recommended!

Best Dr Ive ever had.. He listened to me and didnt just push me to the side. Took care of all my medical issues and even gave me answers to issues that I didnt know I had.. I would recommend him to anyone . Thank you Dr Schmalz .

I have never had a Dr as thorough and that took the time to listen to my concerns like Dr Schmalz does. Yes, you have to wait awhile to see him, but it is well worth it.

I had an extremely bad cough, almost non-stop, as a result of allergies that I have gotten once a year my whole life. I went to Dr. Schmalz and he gave me one shot each day for 4 days. It didnt help! Then he put me on an antibiotic. No help! Then I saw an ad on TV for Delsym cough suppressent. I went to CVS and talked to the pharmacist recommended it. I took it and it worked!! I went back to the doctor and reminded them that nothing they did helped me at all, but the Delsym worked. They said I should NOT have taken it! I give them a very generous 2 stars.

Wait times for his office are always ridiculous. I waited an hour today to get in for my Remicade treatment that lasts roughly 3 hours. Everyone else in the waiting room had been waiting forever as well, for blood work, or to see Dr Schmalz. If you can, go somewhere else because waiting for the appointment is not worth it. Worst service Ive ever had.
