Went there to pick up a fan that was being offered to people of low income in preparation for hot summer weather. Was disappointed that there was no handicapped entrance off of the parking lot. Salvation Army worker brought paperwork out to me to sign. Was told they normally do not do that.Got a box fan which has worked well and continues to three years later.

I know Salvations Army from their family thrift store, I wish they could open a store in this town. I’m not a poverty person and I don’t need free food, but I love thrift store and enjoy shopping in it. Even Pontiac have one, this town is much larger than Pontiac.

Salvation Army takes care of homeless population and provides food baskets to those in need. My problem with is the amount this agency pays their top brass, 6 figures last I heard. Plus ende a their funding for those in need for utilities/rent etc.

I volunteered to do pots and pans there for lunch and honestly the lady cooking is a sweetheart and great cook. The meal was really good and kitchen up on sanitation. I actually have went three times during lunch and am so suprised at the number of people eating they still needed encouraged to volunteer for a chore. Great cook! Thankyou Salvation Army for all you do!
