Dr. Burwell did two hip replacements for me in the past six months. He used the anterior approach for both. This was performed expertly in my opinion because my recovery was extremely fast. My physical therapists were all very impressed. Dr. Burwell has been very pleasant from the first visit until the last check up. He took much time to explain the procedure to me and to review my x-rays and my health. He wasn’t pushy about surgery therefore when I made up my mind to have it I was more than ready. I can’t say enough to recommend Dr. Burwell. He is absolutely the top surgeon for your orthopedic care.

Every time I’ve taken my daughter to Dr Burrell, in my heart, I know she is in the best of hands. He truly cares about his patients. Black or white. I recommend him highly! Quite frankly, 5 stars are still very low!

Such a nice professional man has lots of experience in all. His nurses are extremely.nice,compassionate and really rake the time with you. Also everyone is neat well groomed and with a smile including up front staff and x-ray texhnicuan.

Dudley Burwell performed bi- lateral knee replacements on my dad at the age of 92, he is 99 now and still going strong. He is a wonderful doc with a great Bed Side Manor. Thank you DB, JerryGI would give him more stars if I could!

Dr Burwell is a brilliant surgeon and we are very thankful for him. Both of my parents are patients of his and have had multiple replacements with him. They both had no pain after surgery, even during the weeks afterward. I cannot praise him enough. Members of his staff are very efficient and professional . As long as he is performing surgeries on the Gulf Coast, we will be his patients!

Family member had a total hip replacement done last month and it went beautifully! He had surgery around 8 am and went home at 5 pm. Everything from pre-op, to surgery instructions, infection control protocol, and time spent with us answering questions as well as his bedside manner and all of his staff- all was above our expectations! Surgery was amazing, PT was great, cant say enough about the whole procedure. HIGHLY recommend Dr. Burwell!! Thank you!

After years of pain and suffering, I had rotator cuff repair surgery on my right shoulder, six months later, I am pain free and have full use of my shoulder. TRICARE BENEFICIARIES BEWARE!!! THEY DO NOT CARE TO PROVIDE GOOD ACCESS TO CARE. DESPITE TELLING FRONT OFFICE STAFF I WILL BE CALLING TRICARE TO COMPLAIN.This Dr works for Memorial HS and I have been unable to get an appointment for 10 weeks now. I call they take down my info to call back and then they never call back. I have been seen by a Dr at Bienville in the past never had this issue. Probably the worst customer service I have ever seen. If you get a referral for this Health system I recommend you have it changed to Bienville ASAP. I will be screen shooting this and circulating it on social media to ensure future referrals are warned.

I am a 77 yr old male and I fell and broke my wrist. I went to the ER at Gulfport Memorial and I was referred to Dr. Burwells office to make an appointment. His scheduler or secretary took my info and called back 5 days later to say that Dr. Burwell could not or would not accept me as a patient. No explanation rendered. All of this occurred after being referred to his office by both a Memorial walk in clinic and the ER at Gulfport MEMORIAL. To me, it is morally incomprehensible how assistance can be refused. It is clear to me that I may never have service in my right hand again. BTW, I have two forms of insurance so that was clearly not the problem.

He is an excellent physician . But his office staff is horrible and unprofessional when it comes to scheduling and very rude. But Dr Burwell is an exceptional physician.

I had a traumatized shoulder from an accident I had in December 09 turned out I had a torn Labrum and other muscles that were torn from the born, needless to say I was in a lot of pain. And thanks to the US Army Veterans Admins I was sent to Dr Burwell. He was very comforting to talk to and he assured me he could take care of my problem. The receptionist, the nurses were very nice and happy they took good care of me and the Anesthesiologist did exactly what he said he was going to do and that was block the pain in my arm. When I came to I was looking at my daughters laughing at me because of I must of looked like coming out from the influence of the drugs used and when I came to right away I knew my shoulder was different. it hurt different and now some five weeks post surgery I can almost go back to work after suffering from Dec 15th 2009 to May 9th 2014. Dr Burwell is the best Id like to thank him for treating me so well after so many other said there was nothing wrong with me. Thank you Dr Burwell God Bless. William Derrick
