This class was a wonderful experience.I was able to address and work through my loss with the help of Kira and the others in the class. I was very nervous and wary when I signed up, knowing that I would have to be vulnerable and open about some very tough stuff. Kira was amazing at helping me through my reservations and helped me open up more than I knew was possible. This class gave me the tools I needed to work through my grief and heal.I highly recommend this class!

I met with Kira one on one. Kira genuinely listened to me with zero judgement. Her approach is very gentle, honest and confidential. She truly made me feel cared for and safe sharing things I wouldn’t have been comfortable to share with anyone, at that point in time. She helped me identify things about myself and gave me tools to dig in deeper to heal my emotions into healthier ones. I addressed times I knew I was affected by and also discovered memories that I was unaware were still affecting me.Kira’s program shined a light on things I wouldve avoided and never dealt with; including closure on losing someone, painful memories and tramatic experiences that I denied affected me. She gave me the tools I needed to be more self aware, healthier coping skills, the knowledge of how to let go of some things, and the journey to accepting other things.

I lost my four year old daughter July, 9th 2014. After 2 1/2 years I finally got the courage to contact Aspens Angels. I emailed Aspens Angels and signed up for the grief recovery class in April 2017. It was an 8 week class. I chose the group class, but they also offer private sessions. I was very hesitant, anxious and scared because I wasnt sure what to expect. I went to the first class and by the end of the session I thought to myself why didnt I do this a year ago! The atmosphere is welcoming and Kira Pertuit is a very friendly woman with a heart of gold. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about grief recovery. During the 8 weeks I worked on different aspects of my grief. The class gives you the tools to acknowledge and look grief in its ugly face. I left the class with a sense of accomplishment because I faced my fear. I learned skills that not only help me with surviving the loss of my daughter but other forms of grief that I have suffered in the past. This is not the average counseling session where you talk about would ofs, could ofs, should ofs. The grief recovery program digs deeper and talks about the myths of grief and leaves you feeling more knowledgeable and confident when confronting grief. I highly recommend taking the course. I can guarantee if you stick with it and put in the work, it will be worth your time. Kira Pertuit who is the founder of Aspens Angels is an amazing person and I am so lucky to have met her and gone thru her course.
