This is a very nice campground with nice, clean facilities. We loved how they have individual toilets with showers as opposed to group units. We enjoyed swimming in the pool. There was a nice trails that went down to the river. We rented a cabin, the air conditioner was a little loud when it would start and stop (bought ear plugs for our second night) but it kept the cabin very cool in very hot weather. The little cabin has a queen bunk with a twin on top and a queen futon. I suggest you bring air mattresses if you can, the sleeping pads are pretty thin. It also had a nice little table and porch swing. No pets allowed in the cabins just so you know.

This is definitely in our top 5 RV parks. My husband and I have been on the road since October. Been in 48 campgrounds. The sites are spacious and level. Bathrooms and laundry room meticulous. The grounds are well maintained. The owners go beyond the call of duty to make sure your stay is comfortable. In fact the owner actually parked our rig in our site. One n half miles to a grocery store. Plenty of restraunts, taverns. The grounds also have a pool, hot tub, playground and a gathering place to meet and greet. If we are ever back this way. We will definitely pick this RV park.

Way overpriced for accommodation. Grounds and sites are dirty and tight, with many sites sharing a picnic table. The staff are nice and entrance/ buildings give appearance that campground will be exceptional- but nay, nay, this is not the case. If prices matched the location and grounds, then would have given higher rating.

We came in a little late but the staff was there waiting. The staff was professional and happy! Yea, happy! The two spots we got for our campers were fantastic! Ask for #130 or #131! The bathrooms and showers were a tad small for us bigger guys. The arcade room is a little outdated. Got in too late to enjoy the swim pool. I would definately add this to our small selection of have to go backs.

Arriving on Monday the park was quiet. We were assigned a back in spot in the new section. Our 5th wheel is 41’. The sites are tight with only a small space in between. Our truck did not park off the road so occasionally had to move to make room for traffic movement. We did enjoy being back by the field. But wouldn’t figure out why much smaller trailers were assigned the pull thrus and our trailer as well as huge class As were in the back ins.The weekdays were fairly quiet but by Friday the park was packed with little space in between.Staff was helpful and friendly. Shout out to Brit for his assistance.Although listed as a site with cable ours did not. We were able to get a few channels with the antenna. T Mobile service was great! We appreciated the close proximity to Hwy 90.Overall we enjoyed our stay but was definitely overpriced ($85 a night) for the amenities offered & used.

My husband and I we’re guests at the Yellowstone River Campground from May through October, ending up in slot 96. Throughout our stay we witnessed just how hard the entire staff works, especially the maintenance crew. Even the owners Judy & Britt are out and about throughout the Park on a daily basis working hard to keep the park looking as good as possible, and visiting with guests.Throughout our stay, there were numerous severe evening windstorms, wherein tree limbs and debris would litter the Park. Without skipping a beat, first thing in the morning Britt, along with the maintenance crew would be hard at work cleaning up the Park.I sincerely commend the staff, as working with the public on a full time basis can be utterly exhausting. Especially these days when soooo many people can be rude, demanding, selfish, impatient, disrespectful, condescending, and just plain out too lazy to even clean up after their own pets, or keep their site picked up.So THANK YOU Yellowstone River Campground Staff, we are two guests that truly appreciate each of you for your tireless efforts!! God Bless!!

Very nice park. They are very organized and on top of things which I liked. Sites are top notch and level. Well maintained, utilities work well. One of the few places that provides a 2nd hose hook up if you like to connect your black tank flush hose and leave it there which i like to do. The only thing I do not like is how close the spots are to one another. Its pretty jam packed in there. Since we typically stop only for 1 night during transit, it doesnt bother us much. Its still organized well enough to be big rug friendly as adversed. We paid $97 (10% off good sam) per night, which is the priciest campground weve been to, but I guess other campgrounds in Billings are not any cheaper. They have propane on site, just call the office and they will come by your site to pick up tank which I though was convenient. Close proximity to Yellowstone river 5 min walk, which we didnt get a chance to explore. We will definitely do so during the next visit.

Had a change in plans and had to find a place in Billings. Should have known when they were the only ones with available sites in the area. Plenty of open sites when I got there. What a dump, at least 2/3 of it anyways. Most sites are face to face, dirty and dusty with not nearly enough space to open your awning. Area was filled with full timers and trashy sites. They recently added a new row with back ins and pull thrus but at very expensive rate. With good sam discount it was 97 dollars! Web site says cable TV but does not mention they did not install in the new area. WiFi was sketchy, dropped out a lot. Owners son is foul mouthed. Complained that his staff has had to deal with a-holes all season but when you have to deal with them and him you realize its the customers that have had to deal with them as the ......s. Office staff, one a young girl who never looked up from her phone were pretty much useless.

Utterly disappointed! Staying here for 2 nights during our move from the east coast to the west, and have to ‘shuffle’ between our RV and our neighbors. This location is the exception to the rule that local parks are better than KOAs- just the opposite is true. When we pulled into our full hookup 50 amp site, we only then discovered this park bifurcated their luxury sites into 2 super skinny sites- if not for visiting during the peak of summer & during the pandemic, I would have changed to the KOA!DO NOT STAY HERE unless you prefer having your personal space invaded, people walking through your space, parking within a foot from large trees, and not being able to extend your awning without hitting your neighbor’s rig. Luckily only here for 2 nights…. and hope we don’t get hit by someone in a rush.Sadly it’s becoming increasingly clear- if a park can’t invest in online reservation systems, then they likely aren’t a place worth staying… 😔

UPDATE: I wrote an email to the Management of this park that night, thinking that possibly the lady who answered the phone wasn’t management, and that there might be a different response from their manager. I did receive an email back the next day: “Thank you for reaching out. I’m so sorry for the confusion. We will refund you in full since we did not send you a confirmation email. (I researched it and we sent one to the wrong email address, which again, is completely our fault.) Please accept our apologies for our handling of your reservation. Please keep an eye out for your refund to go through today.”I waited to edit this post because I wanted to make sure that we received the refund, and we DID. Thank you to Kelsey. I’m glad you saw our point in this, and I hope mistakes like this don’t happen again.ORIGINAL POST:If only there were a ZERO STARS choice! My husband John tried to book a reservation online (on 5 July) for 7 July with this campground and we subsequently got only an email saying this: “ Thank you for your reservation request. Your request has been received and will be processed within 72 hours. We will e-mail you a confirmation number once your request has been booked.”We never received that email with a confirmation number yesterday or today, so we assumed they might be full or were waiting until 7 July to see how full they were before emailing us.Late this afternoon, we looked at the mileage we covered today, and we realized that we wouldn’t be able to get to the campground by the 7th, and, thinking we would be FAIR TO THEM in calling the campground to cancel our REQUEST (remember, it was NEVER A RESERVATION), we phoned there. My husband explained it to the lady who answered, and she admitted that they had probably made an email mistake and didn’t send one. Then she said they were going to charge us anyway, since we were calling within 24 hours of the reservation. My question is, WHAT RESERVATION? We never received an email telling us that or giving us a confirmation number! We certainly don’t want to pay for something we didn’t even know about! So, in accordance with what we told them in our subsequent call to the campground tonight, we are absolutely disputing this charge with USAA. My husband is a 32-year Veteran, and it’s sad that this campground is treating a Veteran so poorly. To be fair to others who may encounter this same situation with the campground, we are submitting a review on the site and will also be submitting one to Yelp. They are trying to charge us $97 for a campsite that doubtless they will book again with someone else. We’ll reflect that view with both USAA and in our reviews.

I chose my rating based on my needs for a family of 6, 4 of them kids. It was for 1 night and then we were on our way. The park was clean and kept landscaped. We had a drive through. The staff was friendly. This rv park had a pool but we werent there long enough to use it. It had a park for the kids. A clean and decent size.Im reading there are two rvs per spot, based on the rv map, theyre are 7 rows. Only 3 rows are doubled up. We were not on one of the rows. Im also reading about price. While in office, someone called for a reservation. She picked up a map and quoted him a price. His was a tad higher than we paid. I can only assume, each spot has a different price. Some spots were huge and some were smaller. Some were back ups and some were pulled through. Some had sewage and some must not (she asked if I wanted sewage. For 1 quick night, we really didnt need it but took it). For all the amenities included, I didnt find a problem with the price.I would stay here again if we were ever in area.

Called to do a long term stay and was told the manager would call back in a day or two....two weeks later nothing. Called again and got the same story..the manager will call back in a day or two. Not good business practice to have your employees tell potential customers you will do something and never do it. Told employee that the manager never called back and it wasnt good business practice...finally got a vm from the manager and the first thing she said was that she has very good business practices and didnt appreciate our comment. What!? Not inclined to give them our business. Not responsive to calls. You have to chase them/her to get responses.

Short version... save yourself heartburn and go next door to the KOA. Or keep driving down the highway and find ANYWHERE else to stay. I wish we had just went to Walmart and stayed in the parking lot.Longer version... We have been to 50+ campgrounds in 15 states over the past 18 months. This campground OWNERS are the absolutely worst customer service experience weve ever had at any campground ever. Its so unreal that I hesitated to even spend the emotional time or energy to write this review but decided if it helps just ONE family avoid the situation we were in... then its time well spent. The owners are a family (which we typically LOVE supporting) but the mother drives in her golf cart yelling at kids. For anything. For everything. For climbing trees. For running. For being kids. She was so incredibly rude to my kids and a few others that were playing on a tree IN THE PLAYGROUND that I thought it must have been a mistake. Nope. Shes just that rude and nasty.Follow that up by later that same evening w/ her adult son (probably 40ish) cussing me out for trimming a branch off the tree so my big rig would fit in the space they were charging me $90 per night for the inconvenience of parking in. Literally came over yelling, cussing at me and telling me he was going to gouge my truck because Im a ^**(^% as()&^%^* and since I damaged his tree he is going to damage my truck.Believe it or not, it got much worse and I told the guy to leave and not come back over there or I would call the police and file a complaint for his threats to both myself and my property.I thought it was just this guy hated me but apparently he yelled at our neighbors the next night for having their personal fire pit out as the rules stated you could have a fire in a fire pit. Apparently not.Now I completely understand why there is a HUGE sign when you checkin at the office that says: NO REFUND. FOR ANY REASON. DONT EVEN ASK.At the time of check-in I thought it was kinda funny. Now... not so much.

I thought I would not have a problem finding a long term spot for my 5th wheel. I’m a travel nurse so I normally need a place for 3mths. I was wrong! The campgrounds are not as plentiful as I thought. KOA gave me a spot knowing I needed it for long term, but only til June first. I was out on a waiting list for Yellowstone and wasn’t sure I would get a spot in time. Thought I would be driving 40 miles each way to work. But Yellowstone came thru and I have a spot til the end of my contract.I know a lot of people say the lots are to small for the price. I would love a larger lot I won’t lie, but with that being said I do have all that I need. The staff here are great and have a lot of patience dealing with the campers especially me. The park itself is nice, plenty of trees for shade and nice walking paths off the back. The management, however, is awful. Our neighbors gave up fighting the drunk owner and ended up moving to the KOA down the street. The owners pick and choose who they want to punish for anything. Double parking, cleaning up after dogs, etc. They say they have a strict leash policy and that dogs are never to be left unattended outside, but will not say anything to those not obeying those rules. Honestly would not recommend staying here, and cannot wait to move elsewhere. All in all, the park itself, like i said, looks very nice when they keep up with yard maintenance, and the walking trails are a plus. The laundry area seems nice, until the dryer burns your clothes. Most of the front desk staff is friendly and nice, but the owners are on some sort of power trip. Could be a good spot to stay for a night or two, but not long term.

There are aspects of this campground that are pretty terrible. But the good is that its quiet, there are lots of lovely trees, its very well maintained, the bathrooms & showers are very nice.However....You cannot have a fire at your site there is many sites which dont even allow enough room for your awning or to sit in a chair outside your camper. Imagine an RV storage lot.The sites are side by side back in/pull in so that your doors are on the same side... Two units per gravel pad all this accomplishes is that nobody has enough room.theres a teeny tiny patch of grass with a teeny tiny dilapidated picnic table and Im not sure whose is whos neither are convenient to use.were in space number 51 and either our table or our neighbors picnic table is pretty much touching the garbage can... Cant wait to eat dinner there! *Sigh*Honestly I will never come back to this campground again especially for the price $77 is more than I pay to camp at a KOA holiday which has everything and is incredibly well maintained

All of the pull through sites are double (shared) lots and space gets tight in a hurry. No fire pits. Only one 50-amp connection shared between every 2 adjacent sites. After the first night of staying we we went to pay the remaining balance and were charged for the remaining 106. Shortly after, we were told that we needed to pay more for having more then one tent on the site. Then it was a a fee per person. I attempted to speak with management showing our email confirmation and they refused to honor the email and original price they stated. Highly, highly, highly recommend this RV Park! We stayed here for 3 days in August, 2020 on site 116 in a 40ft motorhome. WIFI was excellent!!! Our satellite wouldnt pick up due to all the trees, but we had an antenna, which picked up fine. Our site was in the new section and, due to Covid slowdown, the cable company still had not run cable lines yet. Roads were paved, sites were gravel and all level. In our row, there was plenty of grassy yard between the sites. However, they have a lot of buddy sites where 2 rigs share the same gravel pad. Too close for comfort! We definitely will stay here again, but will request a site anywhere from #86 -130. Those sites have grass separating you from your neighbor.Good signage and easy access to the park from I-90. The pool was open and well maintained. They had a nice covered picnic area and playground. I didnt use the laundry room, but it was conveniently located near the office and, from the parking lot, looked clean and tidy. The family bathrooms were super nice. Each one had a sink, shower & toilet and was plenty roomy. The campground was well maintained and the staff was super nice and accommodating. They also had a nature trail (narrow deer trail) that led down to the river. So nice to spend a little time playing in the Yellowstone River.Definitely will stay here again and highly recommend.

What else is there to say? Really, just how many campgrounds have flowers at their dump station. The only negative I could come up with is that the electric pedestal is the shortest Ive ever seen. Had to get down on one knee to plug in. Looked pretty old too, but the electricity was a strong 117 volts despite the park being almost completely full. The entire camp was very well kept and swept. No trash, no dilapidated picnic tables, everything looked great. Staff was friendly and efficient. There is even an air station to top off the pressure in your tires on your way out. Havent seen that anywhere else.

Very nice and clean facilities. We rented the pavilion and a tent site for my sons 5th birthday, we were having a wonderful time, until that is, a staff member in a golf cart showed up and proceeded to aggressive and pretentiously confront our entire party about what time we needed to leave the pavilion by. Right in the middle of singing happy birthday she insisted that we leave by 8:30pm, which we were aware of, but it was only 7pm. She then began to lecture us on what we were not allowed to do, such as visit eachothers sites or have other campers visit our site, she said she wouldnt have us drinking and partying with loud music, which we had no intention of doing, we were there for a childs birthday. As we resided to our site and settled the kids around the fire she began to constantly and aggressively monitor our activity at the site. There were people drinking and partying, loud music, screaming coming from several other sites, she didnt seem to be concerned about that. Booking my sons party at Yellowstone river campground proved to be a huge mistake, one I will NEVER make again. I highly recommend the KOA, just a few city blocks down the road, where they will go out of their way to insure quality family time without harrassment.
