Get rid of the front desk employees. They are all oddly rude. Nobody wants to be here. Make people feel welcomed. Please do not shout questions at me and then tell me to take a seat for 3 hours.

Nose wouldnt stop bleeding for 4 hours, went in around 5:30 pm & was seen by a very competent team of nurses & doctor. He Cauterized my nose & kept me for a half hour to make sure the bleeding didnt re-occur. I was home with my girlfriend relaxing by 7pm

I got outstandingly help here. The front desk was helpful, friendly and professional. (Though I think they should provide a chair for checking in and speaking with the triage nurse...I was very sick and had to stand)I was in and out in about three hours. For an emergency room visit with a non life-threatening emergency this makes sense. I was in a bed less than 30 minutes after check in so I could at least rest. I felt cold in the waiting room and asked for a blanket and a pillow which was cheerfully and promptly provided. The blanket was Warm! The service provided was courteous and professional and they listened carefully to all my concerns.Emergency Departments are not“First Come, First Served”. They are most serious cases are served 1st and that is a moving target as every time a new patient walks through the door, depending on their illness or injury the priority order changes. Eighteen years ago when my Dad came in with very serious life threatening injuries from a motor vehicle accident he was “jumped” to the front of the line regardless of who was “next”.Today, I was very sick but my life was not in danger. I was a lower priority.I “get” that but when it was “my turn” I was given all due consideration.

Walked in with chest pains and immediately was seen by a nurse and doctor. Hooked up to monitors and such. 5 days later I was discharged after having a collapsed lung fixed. This place is top notch. And wish others told of their great experience here.

It’s unfortunate I even have to write this. But if you have a kid with autism - DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS HERE. Apparently their pediatric ER closes, we waited for hours never speaking to any nurse or doctor - just walked into the room by front desk. Then my 5 yo son who was in crippling pain was moved from pediatrics to the adult unit - he was already terrified and this made it so much worse. I really didn’t think I’d regret bringing my kid to the ER.

I grew up going here when ever there was a family emergency. Today I went to the emergency room for ( you guessed it) an emergency .I went because this was a facility I trusted, Im closer to 3 other emergency rooms but went because (trust ) I wont go back after today , the care was fast at first . But in the end I ended up in a bed in the hallway next to the nurses station, (not an issue) I understand there were patients in greater need than me . But being right next to the nurses station I heard the care givers talking ill of their patients. I was told Id receive a follow up blood draw in a few hours at 5pm .. at 5:45, I asked when I would receive this , I would like to leave and get this IV out of my arm ,my nurse said well do it right away and I could leave in another hour or 45min she then proceeded to talk behind desk with her peers about non-work related issues(had it had been done at 5pm as she said Id be singing out at this time already 45mins later) the nurse went down the hall and talked to the techs about having them pick up her slack, 20 mins later she returned ,at this point I was done , I said never mind Id just like this IV out and to leave because obviously my issue wasnt a concern. She walked to the nurses station (right next to me ) talked in a downward manner about me to the doctor. And returned 5 mins later and said Ill have one of the girls take out your IV . 10 mins after that she told the tech that was close by for the past 20 mins to take out my IV and just get him out of here. Ive worked in hospitals for almost 7 years in the past, I understand how it works , some patients need a higher level of care , but this was extremely unprofessional. I was patient calm, respectful and understanding, and when I finally spoke up it was just get him out of here. The techs were amazing and maybe it was just this nurse but ,trust is not how Id describe the hospital ,I was born at, and came to because I trusted my life with this facility.I no longer do (And Im still giving more stars than most people did)

If I could give Lahey Beverly ER less than 1 star, I probably would. The one bright star in the entire hospital (& in this review) is an ER tech named Bob. My husband and I are in-process of adopting a very sweet, but also very (critically & chronically) ill daughter. Unfortunately for us, this is the closest hospital to our home. In just the past 1.5 years, they’ve administered to her a drug for which she had an allergy bracelet on..and then had to use an epi-pen for her anaphylactic reaction to said medication. They’ve sent her home with an old woman’s prescription...FROM OHIO! (for not even the correct medication)! (How does that even happen!?)!? They’ve held her down (restrained her) after taking her for an mri, and she was asking for her dad (my husband) the entire time-which we only found out after someone finally came to get him and took him to her. They requested medical transport to MGH ASAP after that. Most recently, without us present in room with her the doctor called her a “brat”, made her cry, and refused to honor several basic-need requests (e.g. a wheelchair for transport because she has a *diagnosed* neurological disorder that causes both seizures and syncope). How can this happen? I have no idea, but you better believe I’ll be finding out soon enough!

Im only giving two stars because the pediatric part of the ER did a wonderful job with my daughter when I brought her in. other than that, this place is so slow and unprofessional. I waited 5 hours in the waiting room and when I asked for a time frame they told me they had no idea when they would be able to see me, I ended up leaving (along with two other patients). I also witnessed an ER nurse treat an elderly patient horribly...spoke to her in a very demanding and demeaning way. This same patient also fell out of her wheelchair in the waiting room. Many other patients notified staff and they blew it off because the patient has been there before finally after 5 minutes two nurses came over to help the lady off the floor. The security guards also spoke negatively about some of the patients while at their post. I guess they thought we couldnt hear them through the cracked glass window. I really hate that this ER is one of the only options we have out here in Beverly.

My wife was called by her primary care doctor after seeing the outcome from an X-ray take a few hours earlier. We were told by her doctor to head to the Lahey Heath Beverly location in MA. She was told see would be seen within 30-45 minute but after nearly three hours we still havent been seen. I cant give a full time frame to when we were finally seen because I had to write this while still waiting for the care that was promised in 30-45 minutes. When asking the front desk for a time frame they were unable to provide a time and said that there were only two people ahead of us but after watching five other patients (that had arrived well after us) get the attention she had yet to receive. The front desk attendants still said there are just a few people ahead of us. I remind you this is after a doctor requested that we head directly to the hospital to be seen and that they had called ahead to admit us as soon as possible.Updated: still havent been by a doctor at the old lahey hospital. They did take a second round of blood and vitals. I guess the last one ran out since they were taken over three hours ago.
