More than half the people dont wear masks at all and wont put them on when asked. The place is also understaffed so all they can do is make an announcement about the masks, which does nothing. The managers are aware of this and dont enforce it. The managers are aware of how understaffed they are and dont hire more staff to help enforce the mask mandate, either. COVID hasnt ended. For a signature club in Beverly Hills, it was pretty disappointing.Really thought there would be more space, equipment, and free weights here but everything is packed together super close. That makes it more challenging to keep a safe distance from those who are maskless as they dont bother giving you space, either. Even when youre at the machines, theyll step within your area with no mask in sight.

I have been coming here for awhile, since I moved here.Sadly with Covid 19, new rules are everyone is suppose to wear a mask at the gym. Most people who are working out are wearing them around their necks. I am asked them for help and was told they cannot go up to anyone, any longer to ask them to pull them up. Only they are allowed to make an announcement. Not asking a lot.It is convenient for me so i do wear my mask correctly when I am there. Some of the staff is good, especially the guys, but some of the staff need to be trained again in how to talk to people .

I’ve been going to this gym for 10 years, I just called to talk about my renewal and to come in.It’s my first time back since covid. I basically paid for half a year and never came in due to covid and not wanting to workout in a mask. The lady who answered the phone, Deanna was the worst. Before I called her, I accidentally called the miracle mile gym who were so much better than this lady at my home gym. The miracle mile team was positive, encouraging, a welcome back attitude but it was the wrong gym. It’s too far for me to go too.Deanna, who was negative, wouldn’t let me come in until I renewed and when I shared the miracle mile teams pleasant response, she had disregard, didn’t care and hung up the phone. I went from being motivated to getting back into the gym to being frustrated by this terrible person’s attitude and lack of customer service.Update, I just found out Deanna is the general manager and that’s how she talks to the clientele. Wow. Terrible. I’m reporting her to corporate. The way she treats people, she is in the wrong field.

In July there was an employee walking around every 15/ 30 minutes assuring people were wearing masks. Now since the March reopening, its like a free zone. So many people not wearing masks. Im very uncomfortable. Theres even a few people dropping weights. I left golds gym for this exact reason, and golds gym has way more updated machines. I really hope they turn this around, so all their guests who are Paying feel safe. The BH health department will shut them down if they dont comply.

Just moved to the Beverly Hills area and have been scoping out a gym to join. This LA Fitness location was five minutes from my apartment and for the most part I am very pleased! It’s a signature location which means it’s a little more high end than the others. My only two complaints are that it’s a little on the smaller side and that the earliest they open is 5! Be careful of the deceptive trade practices of this place. We had already decided against joining but Stephen kept calling - five times to be exact. Finally, he made me an offer of waiving the initiation fee with the 34.99 monthly plan of which I accepted. Then, when I made a special trip there to sign up without my husband he changed the deal and wanted to charge me more money with what I believe to be bully tactics, or at the very least high-pressure sales tactics. Its not the money as we live just down the street in 90210, its the principal. Whether its a dollar or a dime we have a right to expect businesses to conduct themselves with the highest ethical standards. The bad ratings of this place come as no surprise to me because I experienced the deception first hand and feel like Stephen was trying to take advantage of me being a lady.My advice is to run not walk from this place until they get new management who knows how to run a business properly. Beverly Hills is a small community and it doesnt take long for word to spread. You would think that they would know better than to bring such low business tactics to our wonderful city. Beverly Hills deserves better!

LA Fitness: UNACCEPTABLE behavior in sauna (and no one cares)!I’m a member of LA Fitness in Beverly Hills (a Signature club!) and EVERY SINGLE TIME I use the sauna, I have an awful experience because A LOT of gym members don’t respect the basic rules of the sauna.First of all, a sauna is a place for relaxation. Therefore, silence is golden. Nobody wants to listen to your music through your earphones. To give you an example, today, a man, who was fully clothed with his shoes on the bench, listening to music, was tapping his foot to the beat and singing. Also, the guy brought his backpack! What kind of filthy place do you think a sauna is? That kind of behavior is totally unacceptable. Stressful and dirty. OUT!HEALTH ISSUE: As the management team probably knows (but doesn’t care), if members go to the sauna without showering, it helps spread bacteria and diseases. It goes even further: a lot of members bring in germs with their shoes and sweaty gym clothes. Also, A SAUNA IS NOT A STRETCHING AREA. If you wanna stretch, moan and breathe heavily, do it outside, as it is terribly annoying to someone who’s trying to relax. A LITTLE RESPECT GOES A LONG WAY.SAFETY ISSUE: According to Apple, temperatures above 113 degrees F (45 degrees C) can permanently damage the functionality of your iPhone. In a sauna, air temperatures can exceed 200 degrees F. The built-in battery could see its properties altered if exposed to such extreme temperatures. Also, « batteries left too close to a heat source have been known to explode. » So do you really want to damage a $1000 device? Like you, I use my phone all day long, but is it that hard to just sit with yourself for 10 minutes? For your information, here is a PROPER WAY to use a sauna:1. Shower before using the sauna.2. In the sauna, use a towel. Sit on it. Naked or bathing suit only. Be quiet, enjoy a peaceful moment.3. Shower after the sauna. The number of bad reviews that LA Fitness gets is astounding. Will management do something for the customers or will LA Fitness drown in mediocrity?ALSO, TO THE PEOPLE WORKING THE FRONT DESK: PLEASE SAY HELLO, SMILE AND SAY GOODBYE. IT’S FREE AND IT MAKES EVERYONE HAPPY.

They continually take away equipment and space from their already limited selection and space. They dont care about your experience. Prime example: they made the spin bike room into a private training room that is always empty (you cant go into it without a trainer session). They took their best equipment from the limited selection of equipment and hid it in that room you cannot access. They combined the spin bikes with the aerobics room. Now that there are classes at all prime workout times (before and after work), you cannot use the spin bikes.I was spinning off to the side when a class started, the teacher got on a mic and yelled at me for about three minutes, got in my face, and instead of problem solving with me resorted to personal insults that continued to yell as I exited the room in compliance with her rudely given request that I leave. I need the spin bike to rehab a back injury and the only ones available are now unavailable because of their self-inflicted problems.I told the management about my experience and they could care less. They created this problem and now theyre happy to let the psycho egotistical trainer theyve hired create an atmosphere of hostility. Zero customer service, money hungry, and it appears like it will only get worse.

Additionally This location has the worst parking situation ( while the building has tons of available parking spots ... l fitness members have to park in the most crammed section of the parking lot with the smallest spaces allotted to each space. Once they sell you the membership they dont really care about your experience. I voiced my concerned, as I know about the fitness business, but no one cared to reply.Services have been taken away from the members and members are more than inconvenienced as a result. Some genius from corporate decided to take over the Spinning room, where members have take classes for years, and move the Spin bikes to the Aerobics Room. So now, the Boxing bags have been removed to accommodate, and half the aerobics room is filled with bikes. Spinners cannot spin in the dark room meant for spinning; Weight lifters have less equipment to use, as some of it went to the former Spinning room; Boxers cannot hit the bags, as the were taken away; Aerobic Room users dont have enough space; and both Spinners and Aerobic Room users have much less options for class times, as they now need to share the same space. So, the million dollar question is: since it lead to such a negative snowball effect, what are they doing with the original Spinning Room??Well, the my did all this to encourage Private Training. So, they converted this room into a private training room. The problem is that the room is empty most of the time, and, besides a few clients here and there, the Trainers are training themselves in that room. Being in the fitness industry, I think this is a terrible decision. In fact what most la fitness locations do (even the large ones) is take a corner section of the gym and designate it, a private training zone, not take over whole rooms the members have been using for years!

I will put this here since Yelp hides reviews in the not recommended section at the bottom of each company page... all one stars, how convenient. This place is a dump.As a former Equinox member, let me tell you, this signature gym doesnt even compare. The ONLY redeeming quality it has is that its blocks from my place and only 30 bucks. But man, you get what you pay for really applies here.1. Cardio LayoutWhy is there so much space between all the cardio machines? What a waste of space. As a former Matrix Fitness employee, trust me, that much space is not needed. Condense those machines together and make room for more free weights and machines.2. Cardio EquipmentThey are never balanced properly, always about to break an ankle when running on them because they wobble so much. TVs never work, stations are always either all fuzz or limited to two garbage channels. Typically very dirty, gum stuck in the phone port.3. General LayoutNothing makes sense here. Machines are haphazardly placed throughout the gym with no rhyme or reason. Free weights are tucked in a corner with never enough benches. Lift up the mats that no one uses and put some more benches there. The only water fountain is on the second floor - if you dont have plumbing downstairs, invest in a water cooler.4. WeightsWeights are NEVER re-racked. Weights are NEVER placed in the correct spot on the rack. Always thrown and left all over the gym. Major trip hazard and lawsuit waiting to happen. If your clientele is too lazy to re-rack their own weights and/or dont know how to count, then hire some floor crew to do it.5. Personal Training SpaceWhat a joke. The only narrow cable machine you have, along with battle ropes and kettlebells are in the personal training room which is locked in the evenings. Again, such a waste of space and a sure fine way to piss of your members. Id love to hear of another gym that does this. The space should be open to members when its not used so people dont have to wait 10 deep for a machine. And again, why is some of the equipment locked in a room.6. Locker RoomsOne work: ick. Dont go barefoot in here. Floors are always disgusting. Sinks and counters are always a mess, mirrors are never clean. All of the products in the showers are watered down, like waterrrrred down. How do you use body wash that is pure liquid?7. Towel ServiceBath towels barely wrap around my 30 waist and feel like 60 grit sand paper.8. Gym FloorAlways a mess. Empty water bottles, paper towels, napkins, garbage everywhere, shoved in the corners. Again, if your clientele is too lazy, hire someone to clean up after them.Heres a simple business plan solution, hire more staff and raise your rates to cover their overhead.

Here’s the challenges at this place. If you like to run to your gym, there are some things to take into consideration so that your expectations are met.1. If you like to get up early and get a work out in before the kids need tending, this gym doesn’t open until 8AM in the weekends. FML.2. If you run to the gym, generally you’re not hauling all sorts of bottles. You’re going to minimize weight; right? Well, this gym has a vending machine. Awesome! But... I had a $5 and a $20. Naturally I asked the staff (front desk and membership exec), “do I need exact change or will the machine give me change back if I put in a $5?” Crickets....3. I’m prepared to lose $5 just to get a drink. But.... the vending machine is out of order. FML.4. “Hey, I’m parched. Do you have a fountain?” “Yes. It’s upstairs”, says the staff. FML. I’m not lazy but that’s awfully inconvenient. But whatever. It’s not the end of the world.5. Now I’m upstairs in the locker room after I got my sip of LA’s finest tap water, washing my face. I look at the staff in the locker room, “excuse me. Are there towels up here?”, he replies, “no. They’re at the front desk.” FML again. Just all sorts of inconveniences.Inconveniences:Opens at 8am on the weekend. No towels in the locker room.Broken vending machine.Water fountain upstairs.Staff unaware of vending machine capabilities.

This gym is an absolute joke. Ive already complained to corporate but it doesnt seem like anyone cares. They have only one weight lifting machine for bench press and theres always a line of five or six guys waiting to use it. But dont worry once theyre off the phone theyre finally going to let you use it if you wait long enough. So enough of the idiots just standing around on their phones really rude not following any of the rules lets talk about how this gym decided its a good idea to take up all the space in the spinning room and move all of the spinning bicycles into the aerobics room so now nobody uses the spinning bicycles. Oh and another thing there used to be boxing bags punching bags that they took down so they can put all these spinning bikes and store them in their aerobics room. So what happened with the room that all the spinning bikes were in?? So they created a private personal training room that nobody uses and all Ive seen is that the personal trainers who work there go in there and work out for themselves and nobody does anything. Parking is horrible and the people that work there are the most incompetent group of social outcasts Ive ever met. This entire gym prides itself on being somewhat of a higher level gym then the other la fitnesses when in fact it isnt worth any money to go there. I unfortunately paid for 3 years up front. After going for about 6 months now Im confidently looking back and wishing I never made that mistake. The attitude I have now is almost to the point where I feel like they should pay me to enter this facility. The machines are really dilapidated. And I think the people that work there have some sort of mental incapability or psychological issues that hinder them incapable of engaging in normal social interaction and intelligible conversation. I hate this place with a passion and wish that LA Fitness uses this for a model of what not to do when creating a gym. I think MBAs and Business Consultants from around the world should create case studies on this gym just so they could prevent it as Business Consultants throughout the industry to show the up and coming gyms what every mistake in creating a gym results to.I hope someone reads this and finally fixing this place because I actually have a little over two years left on his membership and I wish for at least 6 months I have somewhat decent gym to go to before I can escape the prison that I put myself in. I cant wait to leave this gym Im sick and tired of it and I hate that I wasted the money. Already looking for a new gym anyways, might just eat the cost.

If this gym was not in Beverly Hills it would not be a signature LA Fitness. With that said, it is good and meets the workout needs of the average professional

For being their signature location, this gym is pretty bad. Its tiny compared to other LA Fitness locations and it doesnt have a very big selection of machines. Its also often crowded so it could be really hard to find a bench/weight/machine to use.

All and all I agree that this place is pretty crapy. Once they got your money this simply dont give a damn about anything.Horrible, in many ways.

Not my favorite LA fitness. There is only one water fountain upstairs, and the gym is quite small, which means it is busy more often than not snd you will be waiting a bit for the machines

One customer guy helped me for cancellation and made mistake. I spoke with Vanesha in customer service regarding cancellation of membership. They dont want to be responsible for their mistake. Service was really bad.I dont want to go back there and refer to anybody. She was so impolite and unprofessional.

General Manager, Steve, does not care about safety of members. He alowed a member to take a Zumba (dance) class with free weights in her hands. BIG safety issue because movement in Zumba requires arm choreography- if that weight goes flying out of the members hand, it could strike another person and cause serious injury or death. Many other complaints about this specific location but this was my final straw. The manager was not even courteous when I explained my fear of safety and he spoke over me, and tried to argue- although I did not give him the opportunity to argue. He did try yelling at the negligent member, but as a gym manager myself, I saw this going nowhere. So he allowed the member to finish class with free weights, even though it compromises everyones safety, causes a disruption in service, gets the gym bad reviews, and ultimately decreased sales in memberships and increases membership cancelations. Word of mouth advertising is powerful so situations like this cost the gym in the long run.Ive heard so many of my friends say they hate this location, add me to that list.My husband and I are canceling immediately.Lose lose situation. What a shame!

The amount of less than perfect reviews for this location is a mystery to me. I am personally very critical and hard to please and still like this LA fitness location a lot.

Cheap and does the job - AC always broken, weights always in wrong spots - mainly due to idiots working out though. You get what you pay for though.
