Simply stated....showed up and coded with a Widowmaker Heart attack. They saved my life. Cant thank them enough.

Great place great Doctors, nurses and staff. I was here from 1987 to 1999. I have scoliosis and a rod in my back since December of 1987. I was only 9 and these doctors really helped me.......

This place is a nightmare.

I had a good experience with the ER. Maybe because I was transferred by ambulance from the DC VA Hospital but as soon as I arrived, staff were in there immediately attending to me. If my nurse wasn’t available, other staff members would come in and help out as well. My only issue was that I was in the ER room from 4am until 2pm but partly it was because the VA forgot to send the disk with my CT scan so we had to wait for that. Also, no one really knew what was happening with me so I was under the care of two different surgical teams who were trying to decide the best route for me. That made it take longer.

I took my son in for abdominal pain, fever, and excessive urination. The doctor was so rude and unhelpful that I requested a new doctor. The new doctor did not provide any testing for my son despite an order for an ultrasound. They sent us home without any treatment. They told me to make an appointment with his pediatrician but when I called them the said they dont deal with abdominal pain and that I need to go back to the ER. Horrible doctors, horrible service and experience, and a complete waste of time.

True professionals. They are able to catch the tiniest indicators and include them in their differential diagnosis. Respect.

Their team approach and attention to detail saved my life. I went there from alaska due to their expertise. This is a teaching institution and they know what they are doing.

Showed up early, waited 45 minutes, and then told appointment was canceled. Waited another 30 minutes to schedule another appointment. Huge waste of time, energy, and nerves.

The e.r. doctor refused to prescribe me medication because Im seen at john Hopkins and they can only pull military charts. Waste of time.Now I remember why I avoided military treatment facilities, they quality of care I recieved was horrible, I was told to see my primary... if that was an option why would I come to an E.R?????Nothing like having your chest x ray, not be evaluated, and that I can be discharged and the radiologist will see it in 2 hours.

If you have any other option in the area go there first! This was experience was awful. I was made to completely undress for a simple issue. I waited over 2 hours to be seen by the PA. The PA did not ask me what pharmacy I’d like to use she just assumed that I wanted to use the one at Walter reed rather than the one closer to my home. I ended up waiting another 2 hours for my RX.

The physicians GOMER (get out of my emergency room) attitude is a far cry from the understanding and compassionate people who go out of their way to make patients feel respected and comfortable, which the departments description purports.

Worst emergency room ever! They claimed to be busy waiting 3 and a half hours and everyone after us would get seen. Never again and they are suppose focus on patient care.

Some of the bathrooms are so old they have tiles falling off the bottom of the walls This building needs some reno.

Excellent team! Every time we have to go, through all of my husbands cancers and strokes.

Waste of time, plenty of staff but self occupied forgot to complete test and doctor only addressed high blood pressure nothing else not addressing acute issues. They could care less if you died. No follow up info, no attempt to call oncology on call, no care of incontinence issues. Very disturbing!!!

The wait is excruciating and awful. I went to the emergency room for abdominal pain and I was sitting in the waiting room for three hours!! They were letting everyone that came in after me in front of me and didn’t do anything about it when I kept going to the front and asking them. If you need to go to a doctor and you have things to do the rest of the night don’t bother with this place.

If I could give this zero stars I would very slow and multiple people seem scattered and all over the place zero organization!!!

Waiting for 2+ hrs some people more than 3 hours in the ER.. . talking about serving those that served unacceptable.
