I found out Dr. Davis has moved to this new practice and called to see if I could talk to him about some disability information request. I called around 4:20pm on 10/6/2021 they close at 5pm and I was put on hold and inform that I had one caller in front of me and waited 15 minutes before someone came back to the phone only to tell me I have to speak with his assistant and was transferred only to get a voicemail. This was on purpose because Im sure they were not taking anymore calls after I figured out the length of time I waited. I called this morning 10/7/21 and put on hold again only to be told an email will be sent to Dr. Davis for a call back. I will not hold my breath. I hope this is not what I will be looking forward to with this kind of service. If yes, I will go back to the old office and see another doctor. Ill update accordingly.

We had my daughter’s broken arm treated by Dr. Mahidhar Durbhakula and he was AWESOME!!!!! My daughter and I both adored him at each visit, and the staff was all awesome. He’s incredibly competent, fantastic bedside manner, and just wonderful.

Dr. Miller may very well be the best doctor Ive encountered. He has been treating my knee for years and he is the only one I trust. His knowledge and care are always spot on; he finds the practical solution and knows what he is doing. His judgment is particularly sound. Thank you, Dr. Miller!

I was able to get a referring Doctor NOT FROM ORTHOBETHESDA, to call and get me an immediate appointment since I had a bad accident with my Segway. ORTHOBETHESDA saw me on a Tuesday and the appointment was made on Friday night. The only reason I believe it wasnt Monday is because I needed a referral from my primary care provider required by my insurance provider. They were nice to me, I did feel like the Doctor was rushed but he spent the time to answer all of my questions. And I can ask a lot but Sometimes I can be too quite.One issue I have is the parking situation. First of all I didnt eat lunch because my lunch money went to pay for DISCOUNTED PARKING. And Id pay it anyday but 1 of the 2 payment machines were down. Im waiting in a 6 person line in the lobby with a broken hip and get to the machine and its semi broke, cash only. Says go to next building and use machine to pay by card. It took me 25 extra minutes to pay and Im hurting my armpits with my crutches because they wont allow any patient to bring anyone with them. So no one could be there to help me. This WAS NOT ORTHOBETHESDAS fault but Id rate the parking facility a zero. And ask for a refund. The saddest part is there was a line of 4 cars waiting for me to pull out and take my spot. I have another appointment in 3 weeks and that is causing me anxiety just thinking I have to pay for that.

They are very caring and friendly. Never judgmental on size of person or ailments. Therapists always work one on one. They give excellent at home exercises to help you get better faster. Definitely recommend them for anyone.

A competent, compassionate, and cordial operation from top to bottom. Everyone I worked with provided great care and showed respect for my body, mind, and spirit from initial office visits through post-procedure rehabilitation. Based on my experience I wholeheartedly recommend this group to anyone seeking a quality experience provided by capable, caring individuals.

Good luck trying to book an appointment through their horrible booking system where they need your DNA literally before booking an appointment to even see someone.

This place is NOT recommended for a workers comp claim. Dr Holmes is the only doctor that handles the claims and he does not care about his patients. His appointment time with me was less than 2 minutes and he recommended 1.5 months of PT. He also indicated to come back for more, but not before he asked me point blank if I wanted a note so I do not have to work... All the other doctors in the practice including Dr Durbhakula who has been a family doctor for decades are only interested in their bottom line and thus do not want to deal with workers comp. I guess the Hippocratic oath is all Greek to them.

My son had ankle broken and got surgery twice from Dr. Bhattacharyya. Thanks to him, my son got recovered well and has come to play basketball as before. In addition, the financial manager Angie gave me good information on my troublesome concern and kindly helped me that I could resolve it with her assistance.I recommend this hospital because all of the hospital staffs tried to help my sick son whenever he visited the hospital for treatment. I greatly appreciate all kindness and assistances that the physician assistant, the financial manager and the staff who had plaster cast on my sons foot showed. Thank you for all and keep healthy.

Dr. S. Durbhakula is an excellent orthopedic surgeon. I have had two artificial hips done and both turned out fine with no complications. And several of my neighbors have also been to him for the same thing with good results. He uses the anterior technique and the special Hanna table, and recovery is pretty easy and post-op restrictions are minimal. Follow up care after the surgery is also very conscientious.

Very detail oriented practice. I was left with no questions pre-op and was amazed how thoroughly my post-op visits were already scheduled before I even had my surgery. The preop coordinator and Traci, the post op scheduler left nothing to chance. This precision coupled with excellent surgical skill and care has made my first experience an excellent one

I recently underwent the lower spine surgery which was performed by Dr. Joseph OBrien. I am really grateful to Dr. OBrien for the successful surgery on my spine and giving me a new life! He is a wonderful doctor, extremely friendly and very knowledgeable in his field. I feel very fortunate that someone recommended his name to me. I am still in the recovery stage and going through post operative pains. But his office is surely responsive to my needs and communicate in a very timely fashion. So thanks to Ortho Bethesda staff for the great professional service they provide.

I had a total shoulder replacement surgery at OrthoBethesda 6 weeks ago. I was fortunate to have a great surgeon performing the work, Dr. Edward Bieber. I am doing well with all prior arthritic pain and limited motion gone. My physical therapist, Sylvia, has also been first rate. Looking forward to a new golf swing and making the throw from third to first.

Friendly, efficient, effective, and conscious of my time as much as their own. This is one of the best physician practices I have ever experienced. Their physical therapy operations are the same. My appreciation goes out to my surgeon Dr. Bieber and my physical therapist Polo.

I absolutely agree with all of the 1 Star comments. This place is a mess. Unprofessional and lazy. They don’t listen and could care less about their patients. They have no idea the bad rep they have just by word of mouth. People only go there because it’s convenient. My sister and my mother had the worst experience. We never recommend this place to anyone. Go somewhere else.

Orthobethesda doctors and their staff have been very attentive where my wife was concerned. They are very informative and efficient. We both would highly recommend this office to anyone who needs orthopedic surgery or care.

Visited three times in the past year. A very busy practice with lots of doctors and staff. It appears that the staff is well organized. Doctors appear experienced. However the wait is terrible. Not sure if they overbook or they are understaffed for the number of patients that they enroll for a specific slot. A wait time of over one hour every time. Total consult of 5-10 minutes takes you about 2 hours at this place. That’s lots of productive time wasted and expense at the parking lot. Will check out other Ortho offices if needed. If you have no issues with waiting and paying parking fees then the doctors appear good.

Dr S Durbhakula is an excellent surgeon and has great communication skills. I have known him for 9 years and very pleased with my care. Physical therapy is also first rate. I highly recommend Ortho Bethesda.

I was totally impressed with my hand therapist, Ann Steiger, PT. DPT. CHT, CMTPT, and the treatment i received. I felt there was a comfortable partnership & great rapport. She was always present and calm. Not only did she give awesome arm/hand massages, she provided helpful solutions/modifications to avoid pain, useful household tools to use, detailed instructions for stretching exercises, and suggested activities to improve my strength, posture & balance. Also, seeing just one therapist for all my visits provided consistency. Ann and her staff were very pleasant to work with. I would give 10 stars if asked.

The staff was knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. Best of all, after seeing two other orthopedists who gave vague answers to my questions and provided very little hope for treating what they called a rare fracture, Dr Bhattacharyya was concise, knowledgeable and, after an excellent hands-on exam, optimistic about my outcome. He provided me with a treatment plan and I felt optimistic for the first time since my injury.

The staff was nice, however I saw Dr. Schluntz and had a very rushed and unpleasant meeting. He came in, looking like he just wanted to leave, like he hates his job (i get it your busy, but maybe the guy sitting in front of you is busier!). Anyway, i went in with my complaints, he acted like he didnt care, just kept mentioning scar tissue and didnt even give me any treatment options, follow-up, or a MRI recommendation. I wont be going back here again, waste of time and money.

My physical therapist Zeb is very professional and highly knowledgeable. I would recommend him to friends and family.

IT IS A PATIENT TRAP, I were called by staff to come an hour and 15 minutes earlier to see the so called doctor since he has to go for a surgery, arrived on time. There is no paper work , it is an I PAD questionnaire, collecting all unnecessary information, the doctor who I came to see early was never ready to see me even after 45 minutes , I pay for expensive Parking , his time, and to them patients time worth nothing..DO NOT USE THIS PRACTICE , Yes it is big, But a big TRAP. Do not use it,

Dr. Bhattacharyya set our sons broken arm at Suburban Hospital and asked us to make a follow-up appointment at his office within the week. We struggled quite a bit to get that appointment scheduled but the office has been very attentive today in responding and getting it on the calendar. I appreciate the response.

Saw Dr. Gazdag for a volleyball-related ankle injury my daughter recently incurred. Very professional with an excellent bedside manner. He was very clear as to specifics of the injury, its nature, the treatment plan and when she may be able to play again. My daughter felt very relieved after listening to him explain to her the treatment that will allow her to play again. Excellent experience.

That, combined with the friendly and professional staff makes the office visits extremely efficient. In addition, Dr. Durbhakula has been extraordinary in treating the arthritis in my knee(caused by injury/surgery almost 30 years ago). I have sent many family members and friends to this office.

OrthoBethesda Physical Therapy is an extremely well equipped place with highly trained therapy advisors. In the past six months I had to be referred to them for torn rotator cuff and lower back issues. Both the times the consultants approached my problems in a professional way. For my shoulder I was trained and then given set of exercises that allowed me enough mobility to carry out my daily functions. Concerning my back I am hopeful that with another professional care i should be out-of-the-woods soon.

After several years of using this facility, I am comfortably to say the physicians and staff are very courteous and professional. They are always try to accommodate my needs.

I was seen on time and the X-ray technician, the doctors assistant were very helpful . Dr Schluntz explained my diagnosis and treatment clearly.

I have been to their PT services many times. Most recently got the best PT ever. It matters who you hire ORTHO Bethesda, not everyone is world class.

It is Dr. Christopher Cannova who receives 5 stars from me. He is respectful, a good listener and treats each client individually, implementing what he learns from his client in his treatment plan.

I made an appointment, I was assigned a therapist, spoke with the accountancy dept.and after waiting for 2 weeks, when I arrived at the office ( after 1 1/2 journey, I had to take 2 busses), no one could find my appointment. Never happened before, nowhere! I had to wait for 2 weeks while I could have gone somewhere else. I dont trust them....as an office! Of course I cannot say anything about doctors and theraphists! Be sure they really write down your name!!!☺

I gave her the number to call the medical facility who refered me to call them and ask for a script she replied that s not her responsibility. Seriously! A simple call could ve solved the issue. Oh well i was responsible enough to find another place. Her smart remark cost them money. Poor customer service.

Wait time in quite long but worth it for some excellent doctors. Dr Bieber has been very good and Dr Durbakula is a wonderful surgeon whit a great personality.

I recently had a cat bite to my hand out of state. I was told they can get very serious very quickly and to check up with a hand doctor ASAP. I was able to get into OrthoBethesda the same day that I called. I was worried this place would be like my experiences with OrthoVirginia- horribly long waits for little service- but my visit was great. I was seen within 10 minutes of my appointment time and I did not sit for long in the room before a nurse and then the doctor came. I saw Dr. Durbhakula who was so nice and helpful. He explained things clearly and gave me options. I did not feel rushed and I will absolutely go back here if I have future problems.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Cannova and Ortho-Bethesda. Dr. Cannova did a revision surgery on me for a Total Hip Replacement that was done 10 weeks prior by another orthopedist surgeon in a different practice. From the first surgery, my surgical leg was 2 inches shorter than my non-surgical leg, and I was in constant pain. I actually thought that I never walk again.After Dr. Cannova did the revision surgery, my legs are the same length, no pain and currently walking with a cane 4 weeks post-surgery. The PT Department has been great and im hopeful to lose the cane soon and return to work.THANK YOU, Dr. Cannova. You are a miracle worker.Regards,Michael Cutler

I had a good over all experience at OrthoBethesda this year, though I did not like the check in first time on a iPad but then I just don’t like electronic check ins anyway so that isn’t their fault. After the first check in I could do subsequent ones online at home, which was much better. The wait times were short and I loved the staff apart from the front desk check in staff who were mostly unresponsive dependent on whom was on duty that day.Doctor Durbhakula was very kind and curtious and did a great job in totally replacing my right hip and says the hip has healed well and looks great. However I have had severe problems with it though and eight months on since the operation I still feel like I have a tight band around the top on my leg and my IT-Band is hyper sensitive and I can’t touch my thigh because the bursa muscle is still so painful. I am still icing the whole area and exercising though it hurts to walk even two blocks. So I am disappointed but Dr Durbhakula told me in May on my last visit to him that it was my lumber spine causing all the problems not my hip.So, we will see as now after seeing my neurosurgeon Doctor Z Levine I am being scheduled for vertebra replacement and rods in my spine for next month. If after I recover from that operation, which will take months, I still have the same pain problems in my right thigh, or if the pain disappears I will head back to Doctor Durbhakula to either thank him and admit he was right. Or ask for his help with the on going pain and problems in my right hip.There is no doubt in my mind that Doctor Durbhakula is a great surgeon and I would have no qualms about any other replacement surgeries done with him, though I will never have them done at Suburban Hospital again as my experience there was truly dreadful. But Doctor Dubhaklua does perform surgeries at Shady Grove Hospital so next time, for I’m sure there will be a next time, I will try out Shady Grove Hospital.

I saw a physical therapist with the first name of Zeb due to complicated issues with my sacroiliac joint. I couldn’t have been more disappointed. He told me that the sacroiliac joint fuses while growing up and has no movement. He needs to go back to school. He gave me a bunch of useless exercises which were not even focused on the problem.

This is a dreadful website. Access is impossible Information in unavailable. The restrictions are procrustean. There is no access to persons. If these guys werent about to work on my hip - and if the DOCTORS werent highly recommended - Id leave in a flash. I can only hope that the doctoring is better then the connecting.That well find out soon.

This is the worst medical group Ive dealt with in over 40 years. Ive gotten more attention and better service at Papa Johns. Im not doubting their credentials are impressive but their support staff is discourteous to patients. Attempting to contact any one other than the receptionist is virtually impossible unless they want to talk with you. Dr. Durbhakula seems to be knowledgeable in his field but theres far more required to complete treatment than his surgical knowledge. His entire support staff from office manager thru receptionist could care less about the patient. In particular the lady scheduling surgery doesnt have the common courtesy to return phone calls or emails. ,The office manageranager is no better . After having my surgery scheduled I had pertinent insurance questions and couldnt get as much as a return phone call or email in response to 5 phone calls and subsequent voice mail with repeated emails. Ii would strongly advise any one who cares about complete medical needs to look at other options for the. Im heading there today to get my medical records in person because they wont answer my phone calls to get my records faxed to another Orthooedic Surgeon. Pretty sad when you have to drive 40 miles to for your records in todays age of communication or lack thereof !!!! There is one saving grace from this episode, Chuck Grasmeder their office manager was very accommodating releasing my medical records... Thank you Chuck

Dr. Sethi is a brilliant doctor and an amazing- technically skilled surgeon. He is all facts, no-nonsense, answered all my questions (and I asked a lot of detailed questions). I even emailed his office a large number of questions after my first couple of visits and he personally called me when he was in to answer them all. Bedside manner was what it should be from a doctor - all facts and options, questions and discussion.Had an ACDF at C6-C7 almost two weeks ago and am no longer in pain. Also had two co-workers who had have ACDFs done by Dr. Sethi on their lower backs in the past 18 months and their experiences were the same as mine.Cannot understand low reviews for this practice except that nothing would ever satisfy those particular people.Dr. Sethi is second to none.

After my third time meeting with dr Bieber , I talked to the office manager and told him that I will never ever go back there. Dr Bieber is very old but think that he is God himself. He is always over an hour late even though I was his first appointment. He never apologized for being late and he is condescending. The way he spoke to me was so unprofessional . I could not believe that a doctor could be so ignorant. Their billing department is a nightmare too. I have sent them the check for the X-rays that my insurance doesnt cover and it shows on my statement that the office has cashed it but the office manager says that it might have gone to someone elses account. Seriously? Who are they hiring to do their billing in that office. I will ever ever ever go to that black whole. Dont waste your time and money . Seek a professional and caring Doctor. This place is all about how much they can get from you .

I have been a patient at OrthoBethesda for 26 years. During this time I have watched this team of surgeons proactively embrace necessary change (medical technology, medical staffing, health insurance, Affordable Care Act (ACA)) and still maintain its high level of care and state of the art approach to all orthopedic issues. Most recently my family and I sing praises to DR. TIMOTHY BHATTACHARYYA, who has shown my elderly mother caring and compassion, as well as his highly regarded medical expertise as she suffered significant issues with her hip, knees and ankle over the last four months. Dr. Bhattacharyya is not only top in his field medically, he is second to none at reading our faces and taking pause to ensure we are all on the same page when it comes to my moms care. I also commend Drs. Cattell (retired), Schluntz, Gazdag, and Bieber - each with his individual personality - who have delivered the best of care to me personally over the years.

Ive been coming to this practice with my 2 boys many times over the past 20+ years. Dr. Bieber IS God. He performed microsurgery on my sons hand and reconnected the severed nerve. He fixed my rotator cuff. Drs. Gazdag and Schluntz are also excellent. Gazdag gave good advice to postpone surgery for achilles tendonitis and wait for PT to cure it. Still working on my knee problems with Dr. Schluntz but feel assured Ill get profession and excellent care. Waiting for these experts is just the name of the game these days. Tight schedules and too many emergencies. Just be patient (no pun intended), you may be on the receiving end some day.

This was my third visit with OrthoBethesda.First one was in 2009 with a broken fibula. My doctor was Dr. Andre Gazdag. He was very knowledgeable and helpfully. At that time I did not had my health insurance and Dr. Gazdag, by my request, did as minimum as possible and that cutting my bill cost to only$250. And even then he spent allot of time with me educating me on my injury and options that I have for treatment. I was very surprised to pay as little for what I got.Second time was in 2012 with a broken metacarpus. My doctor this time was Dr. Mahidhar M. Durbhakula. He was very knowledgeable and helpfully as well. Also, he got a great sense of humor and just great person to talk to. I can say that this, by far, was the best doctor visit in my life. I never felt so at ease and relaxed before the surgery. Post operation recovery was pretty fast as well... For hand physical therapy I was with Liza, and she did her best to get my range of movement back to normal. All staff that I had to deal with was very pleasant and helpful... Two years are gone from the surgery and the scar is almost disappeared.Third time was in 2014 with a shuttered radius. Again I was with Dr. Durbhakula and Liza for PT. And again it was a great experience and fast recovery. I visited the doc on Monday and due to the nature of injury he was able to perform the surgery on Wednesday of the same week. Thats what i call a fast service... This was a bad injury, the radius bone was shuttered on about 10 pieces by the wrist area. I ended up with a 16 screws to hold it all back in place... After 6 month I was able to do push ups and working with weights and was back %100 to my workout schedule and norms. In the next few month I ran few Tough Mudders and a Spartan marathons.I hope Ill never brake another bone, but if I do, this is the only place I ever will go to.P.S. They have allot of elderly clients and when you sit in the waiting room you see allot of unhappy faces ;)
