HE LISTENS, HE ASKS THE RIGHT QUESTIONS AND MANIPULATES YOUR BODY PART TILL IT HURTS (THATS GOOD DIAGNOSIS!). HE OFFERS CLEAR DESCRIPTIONS OF ANY CHOICES OF TREATMENT, AND THEN BINGO!OVERALL VERY GOOD - BUT WATCH OUT FOR HIS SENSE OF HUMOR.

Dr. Schluntz is an excellent physician. He said that I had a new body part that was not working. He was correct. Last time it was my shoulder and this time it was my knee. He told me to take 2 Advil tabs 3 times a day and I did and now my knee is better. I love his sense of humor! I will never go anywhere except for Bethesda Ortho. Thank you so much!

Fast, effective service. Went in for severe knee pain and walked out with much reduced pain. It has kept getting better and now is almost back to previous condition.

I had an excellent first visit and the doc told to come back to see him 10-15 years in the future. What can be better than that!

The doctor was great but my follow up phone call from seven days ago never happened. Left a message for a return phone call after a very painful reaction to a procedure. That was disappointing considering I did not know what was happening with my body part.

Great doctor - answered all my questions, did the necessary tests and I left with a plan of attack. Office professionally run and appointment on time.

Dr. Schluntz was very thorough and professional. He asked me how my left knee was feeling. (I had gotten a cortisone shot in the left knee last Fall.) Since my right knee was starting to bother me, also, he suggested that they x-ray that knee. Then he compared how the left and right knee looked on the x-ray and pointed out where there was bone on bone. He explained how arthritis usually progresses and told me that I may be able to hold off for up to ten years before I need to get a total knee replacement. He said that when the knee braces and cortisone shots dont relieve the pain anymore, that will be time to consider the surgery. He carefully gave me another cortisone shot in the left knee and fitted my right knee for a brace.

This appointment was to schedule surgery for a full knee replacement. Dr. Schluntz is the best! He explains things very well, in a way that is easy to understand, and is easygoing and friendly. I have full confidence in Dr. Schluntz.

Dr. Schluntz was excellent and obviously knows his stuff, but he has a tendency to cut you off in the middle of a description to talk about the problem. I couldnt tell if he was doing it because he thought I was talking too much and wanted to get the exam over faster or not. The practice is huge and seems a little like a patient mill. The more patients you see the more money you make. You dont really get that personal attention vibe from your time with the doctor. Felt a little rushed.

I originally saw Dr. Schluntz when I fell and tore my right rotator cuff. I couldnt raise my arm. He performed surgery and prescribed physical therapy (PT). It took quite some time, but now my right shoulder is stronger than my left. This time I am experiencing a lot of pain in my left shoulder, my neck and upper back.He prescribed NASIDs, which I took for 10 days and now I do not wake in the middle of the night in pain as I had been. He also prescribed PT. I havent gone to PT yet, but the care prescribed is for cervical spondylosis, which is caused by aging. I am 73 now. I hope I can avoid too much further deterioration and feel better. My back has been through a lot.Dr. Schluntz listened to me and gave me what I think is excellent care.

This rating reflects the time we had to wait for the doctor. Although less than several other occasions in the past, it was more than what we consider reasonable -- 30 minutes, especially if one knows for certain that the assistant is going to ask many questions and most likely also order X rays before seeing the doctor. We have commented in the past and have been told that the appointment timing is decided by the administration who then have said it comes from orders by the doctors themselves. In other words, everyone passes the buck, no one wants to take the responsibility and provide rationale and logic behind the decision. Something similar occurred the next day when we sent to see Dr. Fisch at Dr. Schluntzs suggestion. In this case we waited almost one hour before seeing the doctor for the same reason -- a nurse asking questions. exce[t tjos to,e no laboratory because we had the X rays from the day before and also an MRI taken 4 months before.

This is probably the best doctor to see in the DC area if you have any joint injury. I am a very critical person relatively speaking, so this review should mean a lot to anyone reading it who knows me.P.S. I injured my knee during a soccer game. I saw this doctor on April 26, 2019.
