Normally, I dont write reviews for poor experiences because I usually let the shine outweigh the bad. I sent my boyfriend there after looking up Dr. Demizios on his insurance website. It was his first experience with insurance ever since he went off his parents plan years ago. His normal benefits are a $30 copay for routine cleanings and exams. Dr. Demizios office somehow convinced my boyfriend that he needed the deep root cleaning that honestly was not necessary as he had no cavities, maybe some slight plaque build-up, but nothing out of the ordinary that would require such a superfluous procedure. However, the office failed to tell him the real price of this procedure-- a whopping $600 because of the advanced technologies and instruments the doctor uses. $30 copay for a routine cleaning to $600 is quite a difference when youre already paying a high premium for your plan.I called the office to get an itemized receipt for his payments, as he was just given a credit card slip with no charges. The man that answered told me youll receive it in the mail next week and I cant answer any other questions for you, and there is no one else in the office now to help you with any of your questions regarding this. I was floored. Not empathetic, no understanding of charges/insurance, and absolutely no customer service skills. Just a practice fooling their patients that they are truly worse-off than they really are; a glorified example of medical/dental business tactics in its prime.
