The female optometrist was extremely rude when I visited for my first appointment, not really listening to what I was telling her. She also threw out a crazy conspiracy theory claiming that ‘chemtrails’ were the reason that we have lower vitamin D levels now compared to the past….seriously? If you do go here opt for the male instead, he is good and doesn’t go off the rails on you.They also withheld a pair of contacts from me apparently. They gave me a trial set to wear until my contacts could be manufactured, which given my bad eyes takes a long time. When I went to pick up my glasses I inquired about the status of my lenses given that I was close to having worn the trial pair for a month. They produced a second set of lenses that they weren’t going to give me unless I asked them apparently. I imagine they billed the insurance company for those? The funny thing is the doctor gave this long lecture about how horrible it would be to wear the contacts a day longer than a month, but didn’t supply me with an adequate amount of lenses to cover the time it would take to get my contacts (once again only after I went to ask did they produce the second set). They also promised to email me tracking information on my lenses, but it was all hot air since I never heard from them until my contacts showed up at my front door.I went here since it was close to home, but I will head to Albuquerque next year. I don’t need to be told conspiracy theories and provide poor service again.

The appointment took over two hours. I was just sitting there waiting for most of that time. I finally received my glasses and everything is very blurry to the point where they are totally useless. I called the store and they told me I had to eat the loss and throw them in the trash because I moved to California and cant come in to the Vision Store in Bernalillo.

We were loyal customers for years, but now they are requiring an extra $40 fee for pictures instead of dilation supposedly due to Covid safe practices. This turns our $10 copays to $50 which could be used towards glasses. When I reached out speaking to Nora their billing manager asking if the fee could be waived since the pandemic is causing enough hardships for families. I was told I would be called back, never got called back so I called again and spoke to their office manager Amanda and was told they couldnt help me at this time. Its extremely sad that they are so fixated on the money and dont truly care about their patients. Not to mention their eyewear is extremely overpriced. They are perfectly fine with losing loyal patients because they are trying to force a charge that would cost my family an extra $160! Im extremely disappointed in the Vision store and their lack of true patient care. They also have extremely over priced glasses.We have switched to another eye doctor and the Vision store made it extremely difficult for our new eye doctor to get our records. And when I called it took several calls to get things done.

First time patient and I was more than impressed. Dr. Casaus, Domanique, Hayley, and Amanda were all very professional, courteous, and assisted me with all of my needs. First class customer service. Large selection of eyewear. Would highly recommend.

Glasses are overpriced and I don’t feel the doctor listens to her patients very well. There is an additional $40 charge to go with your co-pay that is mandatory so visits can get expensive

This is the most thorough exam anyone can ever have and the entire staff is amazing from beginning to end, Dr Casaus is so wonderful and knowledgeable! I highly recommend everyone and the people that have been here also say the exact same thing after their visit! “This is the best eye exam I’ve ever had”

The doctor is great and recommends many tests but can’t help wonder if it’s just to bill insurance and get copays. They don’t let you know ahead of time of what you will get charged until you get the service done. They are very sneaky when it comes to billing and will try and over charge. I would not recommend this place to no one.

I was referred by the VA to the Vision Store in Bernalillo. My first appointment was for a eye examination. I waited close to an hour in the exam room without being seen. I first decided to leave and then decided to get it over with. I was finally seen by one person who started the exam before the doctor came in and finished it. I did receive my prescription glasses earlier than I was told. However, when I received them, it was obvious they didn’t belong to me. The frames were mine, the prescription was totally off. They made another appointment for me to be re-examined, just to get a call while I was in their parking lot, that I did NOT need to be seen because they realized their mistake. I said that I was disappointed with their office. Both times, I was given the excuse that “they” are very busy and she was the only one who does that job. I hate to complain, but it’s a 25 mile round trip for me. It appears they are putting quantity over quality.

Predatory billing practices will have you paying twice as much as EVERY other optician I called in Albuquerque.I was quoted a maximum cost of $130 out-the-door for contact eye exam for astigmatism, including Optos and fitting, WITHOUT insurance. Well, I do have insurance, and I was charged $133 out-the-door ON TOP OF the $130 they billed my insurance.This place should be investigate for insurance fraud!The attempts to upsell customers in EVERY aspect of the business is borderline criminal.Yes, they are thorough, but you will pay double the rate of other eye care centers in town.

Very unhappy! Both my brother and my son were fitted with wrong Eyeglasses, and Contacts when they first saw the doctor. My brother never went back because they could not get his lenses correct. My son saw the doctor for many years when we had insurance. The minute his plan dropped Vision Care the stores attitude completely changed. They are only there for the money not for the care of the patients and this aggravates me. We were told that if he made an appointment somewhere else and took his contact prescription to them they would not fill his contact lens prescription, even though we use them for many years. So this to me shows that they are in it only for the money not for the care of the customer.

Never been here before, Got an appointment scheduled a week ahead of time. In the mean time i keep getting numerous text reminders which i respond to. Today, the day before my appointment i get a call to remind me of my appointment. The Rep on the phone tells me, sorry they dont get these responses back. Then springs on me an extra test they require that is not covered by my insurance that would cost me out of pocket. Wish i was told when i first called. Thank you for wasting my time. Your LOSS OF SALE, ill go else where.

I dont think Ive ever felt more unsatisfied with a business before. Not only do I feel unwelcome when I walk in, I feel a sense of we are better than you. Ive been going to this eye doctor for about 4 years, thinking it will get better each time, but year to year I walked away mad, scammed, and dissatisfied. My family quit going, and I only stayed because it was close by and I am too good at giving second chances. My last experience, though, was the last straw. Theyve always only done anything for the money and will push you to spend more and more. They started requiring everyone to do a test that charges extra money. The staff, although cheery on the outside have still always found a way to disappoint me as they make snarky comments and like to put blame on you for their mistakes. Nobody there seems to truly care about you and any customer care they do have feels forced and condescending.Every time I go, I end up spending about 2 hours or more, because although the office seems empty, I always find myself waiting in the room to finish my check up. Every time, I sit waiting for about 45-60 minutes in the room with nothing. This last time, due to covid-19, the person I brought with me had to wait in the car, which is understandable, but while I was waiting around for my check up (which was an appointment theyve been planning since the year before) she had to sit in the hot car for 2 and a half hours. There was only one other patient in the whole office (the place is small enough, I can hear whats going on in the building).Besides the constant pushing to spend more money, this last incident was the turning point. Due to covid-19 they were trying to reduce the number of people coming to the office, so they told me they would not have me come in for a contact fitting. In the years past, I would set up another appointment a couple days later to tell them how the contacts feel. Its perfectly understandable that they didnt want me to come back (the one time they actually seemed to care about their customers). But they also charged me $93 dollars for a contact fitting that I never got. When I went back to pick up the glasses they not only seemed to force me to buy, but also didnt order until after the entire $650 was paid for (guess they dont understand how bills work; everything must be paid upfront), I politely asked why they charged me $93 for something I never got. The lady at the front desk insisted that they did give me a lens fitting. I said The only thing that happened was that my contacts were put in my eyes and they asked how they felt. the lady at the desk snapped yeah, thats what a fitting is I basically spent $93 for a 5-word conversation. At that point, I cancelled my appointment they set up for next year, and Im never going back.

I dont write many reviews...you have to really go out of your way to make me angry in order to get a review like this from me.Showed up at 0915 for my appointment and was told they couldnt find the scheduled appointment. I showed them my text confirmation AND I have their business card with the date and time of my appointment written on the back. They still couldnt find it. To add insult, before I walked into the office, they sent me a text message wanting me to confirm an appointment for the following week. Someone is trying to cover up their mistake!Theyll charge you $25 if you dont show up for an appointment...does that policy work in reverse???

FIX IT!!!! Its already been an inconvenience and its ridiculous I should have had it the same day but that wasnt an option so how much longer am I expected to wait or go to the office and have to ask and get attitude or an excuse.

Front staff made us feel like we were a bother. They more than suggest you get the digital eye scan thats not covered by insurance. Costly btw. Doctor wrote my wife the wrong prescription. Then tried to convince her that she had bugs in her eye lashes to try to sell her a solution to take care of this problem. Then tried to convince me that my eye told her that I was lacking berries in my diet and for me to go back in 4 months to pay for another eye scan so she could see if it got better. If not, she will sell me supplements to help with my problem. Total scam. Took my wife to another eye doctor to get the correct prescription. A total nightmare.

The Dr. was very nice and helpful along with her assistant (I wish I can remember her name young blonde girl), but the rest of the staff was AWFUL!! As soon as we walked in without greeting us young girl with glasses and annoying voice told my son and I to go wash our hands (understandable), but she was rude they way she asked. Our appointment went on without further negativity. At the end of the appointment this NATIVE guy was checking us out and asked if we were gonna get glasses I told him that we were gonna bring my husband to help us pick glasses, he was rude and not happy that we weren’t gonna but them right there and then, then I ask if he could tell me how much my insurance covers for glasses and lenses he printed MY information and told me but I was still not gonna but the glasses then and so I ask if I could take that paper with me and very rude he said NO ITS HIPAA VIOLATION !!!! How could it be HIPAA VIOLATION if I’m providing you with all of my information and my husbands information in my insurance information !!!! ..... He charge me and gave me the copies of my co-pay. I left mad because of the customer service that I received by some of the staff members. Came back to pick up his prescription that HE forgot to give to me and when I came in he said he was gonna see if the dr was available to give it to me. He took about 15 min before give it to me. He was rude and nasty. Sorry but if I can’t afford those prices I’m not gonna get something that get at the moment. I feel sorry for the doctor because some of her staff aren’t professional and she’s gonna lose business. Like right now they just lost my business and my three kids businesses.. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. NEVER GOING BACK!!

Went in over a month ago and still waiting for my glasses to come in! Everytime I call they tell me 7-10 days! I call for status and they tell me they will follow up in 15 mins and never call back! Also been waiting on my prescription to be ready so I can purchase my contacts elsewhere since I didnt order at the fitting they wont let me order now even though I paid for my fitting! Called again today and still dont have my prescription ready to be picked up and still no date on when my glasses will be in! Hopefully soon I really need them!🤦

Absolutely awful customer service. Was seen more than an hour after my scheduled appointment time. Doctor Casaus became extremely rude and unprofessional when I told her that I would not be purchasing glasses from their store and I simply wanted my prescription. Doctor Casaus condescending sated that I could just get my prescription and leave if I wasn’t going to buy glasses. I told her that I wasn’t interested in buying UV lenses or transition lenses. It felt like the entire time they were trying to sell more optional add-ons for my lenses. I had to wait another 30 minutes just to get my prescription. No one ever informed me that the doctor was running behind, or why I had to wait just for a print out of my prescription.

Twice I have been here and each time paid substantial fees IN FULL as I left. Twice I received follow ups saying I owed ADDITIONAL amounts. I paid the first one without question. When it happened again I refused to pay. What is going on? No one told me there would be anything addiional. No additional services were provided. Insurance reimbursements were reflected on the initial statements I paid.

The Vision Store also provided a great discount on glasses so that I could have a back up pair. Dr Casaus is a doctor who provides good care to her patients.

Let me start with, I have OCD: Why is that important? Let me explain. I am a previous patient. Thought they had shut down. Went to other places with horrid experiences. Once I realized Vision Store was open. I made appointment. As before. They are GREAT!. They explain everything to me. Let me know what is required, what is not, and options. They understood me, without having to explain that I am very particular about my eyes and glasses. I cannot thank them enough for everything they did to make me feel like a valued patient, not just another number or insurance payment. I highly recommend them. Staff is awesome. Very helpful. Friendly, and a good sense of humor. Large eyeglass frame selection. (Not sure about contacts, as I dont use them, fear of poking my eye out). Wait time was ok. Unlike other places that will have you wait an hour, with appointment. (Sorry for the long review, just wanted to state how awesome the staff is.)

I took my youngest back first for his 2nd appointment with Dr. Casaus only this year he was not getting a dilation done because hes in Marching Band and had practice, plus what person actually enjoys dilation! When Dr. Casaus found out I wasnt going to allow her to dilate his eyes she became very irritated by this and continued to go on and on about is not having it done stating she believed other places didnt require dilation. Like it wasnt my right as a minors parent too say no to having this done. Needless to say I left there very irritated and had them immediately cancel the appointment for him that was set up for next year.The rest of my family (3) went in for their follow up appointments a week later only this time we came with a waiver form signed saying we didnt want the dilation done and we would come back and say any problems we might have were Dr. Casaus fault because we opted out of dilation. Well that was fine until the Dr entered the room and carried on about how she didnt want to hear any complaining if I had a torn retina the week following my appointment. Which could have happened anyway, might I mention. My husband was having a medical issue that was discovered when she did his exam. Alright fine you can do the dilation, but she went on and on again about how I didnt want anyone dilated and see what happens. I forgot to mention my husband, myself and my daughter are all grown adults that didnt want dilation and made the choice to sign the paper. My husband informed her that she wont be doing his dilation either had there not been a problem. No real problems happened during my daughter exam but because she was fitted with contacts she had to return for a lens check a week later and this is when the problems came about.My daughter in for her lens check and to get her script because we didnt order contacts from them was informed that she had to have her internal (dilation) done or she could pay for the pictures. My daughter didnt want a dilation done this time either and she didnt want to be out $39 for some pictures. So she sent me a text and my husband made a phone call reminding them that the waiver form we had signed carried over to this appointment because it was a follow up and as the patient she had said no. When the Dr came in the room, checked my daughters script ahe asked if there was anything else they needed to do and was informed by her writter (gal in the room that updated the chart) that they had the dilation but there was a wavier for that. Words that came outta the Drs mouth, that doesnt matter we still need to do the dilation and my daughter informed her she wasnt going to do that. Of course again the Dr went on and on about it. Then she found out that contacts were not being gotten from their office and started asking all kinds of questions about where they were being bought. How is that anyones business but ours. Just like we have a choice to shop at Wal-Mart or Albertsons I can get my contacts our glasses anywhere I want. Finally my daughter was given her script and aloud to leave. Needless to say I also cancelled the appointments that had been set up for the 3 of us next year because we wont be going back here. It would seem that patients have rights about their medical care everywhere but inside this office. This Dr allows patient rights to until you tell her your not doing something and she cant bill your insurance for it then all patient rights go out the window. Maybe thats why this office doesnt have their patient rights displayed for patients to read.On a better note though, the stuff at this office is wonderful. Always very pleasant every time weve been in for appointments, to pick up glasses or when my husband called to complain about what was going on. Amanda is a great office manager and Im sorry that she has to put up with the complaints that Im sure she has to hear. Its too bad the Dr doesnt live up to her staff and the way they treat the patients that come in.Needless to say it was the Dr not the staff that will keep us from returning.

They did not do same day glasses like their web page said. I was told after I paid for everything it would be a five day wait. Still waiting for contacts and its been over a week. Called about contacts they tracked them and told me 2/10 no later than 5pm they would come UPS. Did not come now Im out of contacts. I spent $752.10 for this and I dont have my much needed contacts.Now I got my contacts their the wrong ones never got my $170.00 rebate! I feel as though this was a bait and swtich! Finally got rebate stuff from the vision store filed got reject so far because no one at vision store sign rebate paper work its been about 4 weeks dealing with all of this! BIG HEAD ACHE NEVER HAD PROBLEMS WITH ANY OTHER EYE DOCTORS. I will keep updated all my issues. Finally got my contact lens rebate back it took 8 weeks as expected.Go some place else. Way to many issues with this place. Tell me what you would have done vision store if I did all that to you?

Dr. Casaus has been my Optometrist since about 1997 when her practice originally was in Roswell, NM. She and her family moved to Rio Rancho, and I moved to Rio Rancho shortly after due to a job transfer. She is also a friend. I have always had nothing but superb, professional service. It was costly when I had no vision insurance, but I only have one set of eyes and wanted the best care. And I always had to have prescription trifocal lenses for both my eye glasses and sun glasses. I am aware I could get exams and lenses at discount prices, but no one knows my medical history like she does. And I am pretty sure $69 frames or cheaper lenses equate to cheaper quality. My eyes are worth more. When you fill out the paperwork, all of the options and their costs are clearly stated. Some tests are not covered by insurance. Sometimes I can afford the extra cost and sometimes not. I have never experienced and hidden costs or additions that were not fully explained to me. There is no one who offers the comprehensive exams and testing that I am aware. So she will always be my optometrist and I have no qualms about recommending her services.

I took my daughter here in March, the worst experience Ive ever had, first off, her appointment was at 10:30, we didnt see the dr until 12:15, the exam was not dont until 1:15, then we waiting another 20 minutes to have my daughter fitted for new glasses, I had to leave without getting her glasses, I told them I was not satisfied and would not be returning, they did not care at all. Now, Im getting bills from them for the eye exam, because they did not bill my insurance correctly, I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL!!!!

I will never come here again. The staff is really nice, but the Dr doesnt seem like she knows what shes doing. I took my 8 year old boy here. He already has glasses but I brought him for an updated precription. First she highly recommended 2 tests not covered by insurance that would have been about $60 extra out of pocket. These tests arent necessary for people under 21 years. Again, my son is 8.Then she prescribed him bifocals and her prescription compared to his old prescription was waaaaay different. Then she got all snappy when I told her I wasnt going to get the new frames from her office. She asked Well why not? Where are you getting them from? Which was none of her business. I went to 2 different glasses stores and both said it was an unusual prescription for my son. I was sceptical so I paid for a second opinion elsewhere from a recommended doctor. The second opinion compared to her prescription was significantly different. I was told with the second opinion that bifocals were not necessary and his updated prescription wasnt far off from his old one which I trust is right. I did not trust her knowledge or her exam. You also have to sign an agreement that you have to pay your bill within 48 hours. The office seems very money hungry. Too many red flags in my opinion.

I’d been going to Dr. Casaus for YEARS. She was always kind to me, as were the staff. But now that I have to pay for my own frames and contacts, I decided to go through a third-party like Hubble or EyeBuyDirect (both fantastic services btw) so when I informed her of my decision... I was met with some hostility. She criticized the value of third-party services and in general wa a hostile towards me. I was shocked at the lack of professionalism shown by her and her staff after it was known I wouldn’t be purchasing frames or contacts from her. My mother and I expressed our feelings to the office manager who seemed to let the doctor and her staff know but still, they were awful towards me. I asked for my eye glass and contact prescription but only my eye glass prescription was given to me.That was about a month ago, but this morning they had the gall to call and confirm an appointment with me when I’d cancelled all my future appointments with them. When I told the woman on the phone that I’d no longer be going to their practice she simply hung up on me. This place is unbelievably unprofessional and I hope to never see any of my friends or family going there. Know your worth.

The office contacted me regarding an annual eye exam and it was scheduled for 12/26/2017. I received a call today saying the appointment was cancelled do to my failure to confirm. I was the one that initiated the appt request. I was told by Zach that I could reschedule today, I informed him that I would not reschedule and I would cease to do business there because I disagree with the policy. What is wrong with people today? Imagine a policy like this, shame on you Dr. Casaus and office, your policy is uncompassionate and agregious. I prefer to do business with compassionate people and especially business professional in the healthcare industry that work with their customers. Good thing I have choices in RR, and I will pursue care through them until they show me otherwise, that they become similar to your business and the lack of customer acumen I experienced today.And now an update after reading a response from the office on another complaint; the proprietor attempts to argue the point by wanting to offer a defensive stance. Instead of trying to offer solutions and work with the person in some form of vulnerability, they dont acknowledge any fault, only that they were sorry the customer felt this way. Why dont you offer to be of help and make the situation right? Because all you care about is being paid, no regard for the human person.
