I had my first chiropractic visit and here and i was very pleased! The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming and the doctor is very knowledgeable of his field. At first i was scared but after getting X-rays taken and chatting a little i felt completely comfortable. I’ll definitely be recommending friends and family!

Dr. Howard Mandela hands down is one of the best doctors I have come across in a very long time!I don’t say that because he does a great job at what he specializes in, he also cares about his patience. He takes his time and explains everything to you, step by step of what’s going to take place and makes sure that you understand as he goes on and that’s my type a doctor. It’s only day 3 for me & I feel so much better and regret the fact that I didn’t meet him 20 years earlier.I recommend everyone, with back pain, joint pain, to give Dr. Howard Mandela a try!

Dr. Manela is the best chiropractor that Ive been too. In the past based on my own prior experiences, I had been lukewarm on chiropractors and how much they could help, but I always leave feeling much better than I did coming in. Recently I had 2 herniated discs and could barely walk that day, but I left in significantly less pain and was able to walk without a pronounced limp.He also has never turned me down, even when I came in without an appointment. I would highly recommend.

Dr. Manilla took the time to answer all my questions with great care and attention to detail, he also use the laser treatment on my neck, shoulder and wrist due to my rheumatoid arthritis.This treatment has worked the best with overall great results. This is the best Chiropractic treatment I have ever experienced. I feel confident that my health challenges will become better as quickly as possible. I was blessed to receive a pulsating laser which goes 5 layers deep, very advanced. I feel all my trigger points are addressed. I would highly recommend Dr. Manela.I pinched my sciatic nerve last night and woke up in so much pain. I could not stand straight or walk very much at all. I called for a first time, new patient appointment and was able to be seen within 2 hours. His staff is incredibly helpful, caring, and very patient. Dr. Manela went above and beyond to help me. He was very tentative and listened to all my concerns. He is very informative and you could tell he cared. I have been coming to see Dr. Manela for over 2 years and he has been a life saver! I used to be a caregiver for the elderly at an assisted living facility and my back was messed up to say the least. I could not even sit against a regular chair without having immense pain in my lower back! He has class 4B laser therapy and that is what got me out of my pain the most because he told me it reduces the inflammation in the tissues where you use it on your body, in my case the spine. I would highly recommend Dr. Manela to anyone needing to get out of back pain. Also, for those reading this that question of he does adjustments on the first day, HE DOES, after he does a very thorough consultation and exam. Plus he got me in the day I called, that is unheard of for me!

DO NOT COME HERE., Doctor leaves over 2 hours early from business hours and does not honor my appointment. So I get to suffer all weekend until Monday when they open again? The employees are too incompetent to make an appointment correctly, and they claim Oh we dont have it When I made the appointment in person after leaving my first visit. Will never go back to this joke of a chiropractor. Does not even work posted business hours. Id rather of suffered all weekend to go my actual chiropractor that cares instead I get to choke on that 177$ fee for 10% pain relief and 0 follow through from anyone employed here.

Started coming here around 9 months ago and I’ve felt great ever since! I’m now down to an adjustment every month or so. I used to have constant neck and lower back pain (which was the worst in the morning), and now I can get a full night’s sleep and wake up with no pain at all. Really does feel great to be pain free.

I am deeply upset with my experience with this clinic. from the moment i stepped into the office dr manela wouldn’t listen to my needs and pressured me into buying products that i didn’t want. he made me extremely uncomfortable the entire timei made the appointment for lower back pain. all i wanted was to get x-rays completed and that’s it. i had to argue with that man to even get x rays done. he insisted that i get an exam done, which i agreed to thinking he would do some sort of adjustment. no adjustment happened. i left my appointment still in excruciating pain and with no answer as to why i have the pain. my entire “exam” was him avoiding my questions as to why i have this pain and him repeating “i’ve been doing this since before you were born”.when i asked for a copy of my x-rays and a synopsis of what he found in his “exam”. he yelled at me in front of other patients and his staff saying that it wasn’t an option and that he “is just too busy to deal with me”. i am now fighting with his office for copies of my x-rays.i will NEVER step foot into that mans practice ever again. and this review is to warn any young women looking for a chiropractor to STAY AWAY from this office. it’s not worth the money or time and you will leave still in pain.

I cant say enough about how Royal Oak Chiropractic Clinic has helped me. I was having severe back pain and wasnt able to walk right or fully function. It took everything I had just to take a shower and get myself going. Dr Howard Manela and Bri were able to get me an appt the same day which I am very grateful for. Dr. Manela went over my xrays with me in detail and also suggested more natural ways to not only control pain but also to help with other issues like diet and high cholesterol. The equipment there is state of the art. Its not an old out dated practice. I felt relief from that very first adjustment and will continue going there to get the recommended adjustments. Dr. Manela is a great doctor. For a couple of years I suffered lower back, knee and hip pain due to my flat feet and overpronation. His custom orthotics and sandals have really helped relief a lot of my discomfort, I would recommend to anyone going through the same thing.

Thank god for Dr. Manela! I had severe lower back pain, to the point where I could barely move. I went to another chiro who didnt even take x-rays of my lower back, gave me a neck massage and sent me on my way. I left in more pain than what I came in with. The next day, I found the Royal Oak Chiropractic Clinic, and they were able to get me in same-day.When I met Dr. Manela, he could visibly see my pain and when I told him about my experience at the other chiropractor, he was shocked and truly upset about the care (or lack there of) that I received. He reassured me that he would be able to take care of me. He took x-rays, did a laser treatment and an adjustment and I was back to moving and walking normal. He went out of his way to fit me into his busy schedule on that same day - and also created time for follow up treatments each day this week. I had such bad sciatica To a point that I had to use a walker to get around the house until I could visit the doctor. Doctor Howard had me almost fully back to normal within a week.I love that his intention is to fix my back for the long term. Excellent experience all around. I was in excruciating chronic pain for several weeks due to lower back and neck pain issues. As a new client, I was able to get a same-day appointment, x-rays and treatment. After two appointments in two days, my back and neck pain are already significantly better. As a first time visitor to a chiropractor, I can now say that Im a believer. Id recommend anyone to see Dr. Manela. His staff, technology and treatment are all top notch.

Somehow I messed up my neck and lower back and was in the position where I couldn’t go to work, and if I did I was in loads of pain all day. I tried calling around to find someone who could squeeze me in and work with me. Thanks to Dr. Manela, I got adjusted and was able to go back to work that night. Came here for a first time consultation, despite not wanting x-rays done they insisted it was MANDATORY for the examination. Truthfully I felt uncomfortable the entire consultation the office is not clean and was a huge waste of time and money; beware I am STILL being billed despite paying $220. I found myself wanting to walk out the entire time, will not be returning and do yourself a favor and explore pricing before you commit, I regret coming here and will never return HUGE WASTE OF MONEY

Had a frozen shoulder and sore back from my office job. Went in for a first exam and got a very thorough baseline. After a few adjustments I could tell the positive effects of it and the CBD butter really soothes! Wouldnt trust my neck or back to anyone else now!

I am beyond satisfied with this Chiropractic office! My experience was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The best way to explain Dr. Howard Manela is that he’s pretty much a cross between a very caring best friend and a responsible father. You just feel taken care of the entire time you’re there. He is super laid back and fun but at the end of the day, he means business and is very knowledgeable. I have been suffering from chronic back pain for many years due to all the time spent lifting in the gym every week. I recently moved to the royal oak area and needed a new chiropractor to see. I had a couple bad experiences at other non related locations so I was feeling pretty discouraged. My final google search led me to this office and it was the best decision I could have made. Most offices require 1 or 2 consultations before they even start physical work on you and since I was in such bad pain, I was elated to find out that Dr. Manela was willing to relieve my pain on the first visit! I was in and out in less than an hour and that covered paperwork, consultation, a complete spine correction, laser therapy and a specially designed program moving forward. It was like I blinked and he just had me fixed with no more severe pain. Dr. Manela even called me later that evening to ask how I was feeling and gave me sleep position recommendations to help relieve back discomfort. I plan on going back as much as possible and I highly, highly recommend this location.

One morning, while reading the news on my phone and getting ready to head out to work, it felt like my neck “went out.”I had never felt this kind of injury before and — to prove to myself that “I’m OK” lol — I carried on with my day as planned. I even went for a run when I got home. For work, I am usually walking thousands of steps and driving hundreds of miles each day to make essential deliveries and to make coin to take care of my family, myself and our future.The next morning, I TRIED to get out bed... I could not walk... at first. I could not do what I normally do for work AT ALL. I was in A LOT of pain even after taking more mgs of pain pills than I ever had at one time. All this... from looking at my phone.... the wrong way.... and probably too much tbh... facepalm.At the time, my regular chiropractor was unavailable so I can’t remember whether I looked it up or saw an ad after typing in “EMERGENCY NECK PAIN” and my area code into Google but when I called Royal Oak Chiropractic I was able to get in touch with Dr. Manela directly. I could tell he was busy at the moment but he took time to actually listen to what was going on; from there, he seemed to have an idea of what it might be and I visited him the next day for a consultation... I was miserable the rest of that day and afraid to take any more meds.Although Dr. Manela’s staff is helpful and kind, during the consultation, he actually listened once again and he also did most of the things that nurses usually do.I appreciate that he was candid about his recommendations and my cost. Not gonna lie, the cost seemed high at first until I understood roughly how many visits were recommended and why... yes I hurt my neck, but the issue wasn’t just my neck... and if I don’t become more aware and fix the whole issue, a small case of text neck can potentially put me out of work again... heavy facepalm.Dr. Manela truely has a wealth of experience and is excellent at knowing when to use what knowledge, what tools and what technology for YOUR PARTICULAR CASE — and he knows your case because he will actually listen during the consultation. He broke down some complex science about chiropractic in easy to digest ways so that I understand what was going on with my body, what he was doing with me, and what I needed to do on my own to heal.After that first visit I felt much better, and after the second I felt back to normal or better. My issues required several visits to heal and are still healing but I felt perfectly fine soon after meeting Dr. Manela — now I see him for my “check-ups” instead of my regular chiropractor who I initially called when I really needed help.Thanks Doctor Manela for actually listening and hearing the issue... and then for going into your bag and properly using what you do well to genuinely heal me. 🙏

I was on my to the Urgent Care on the Monday after Christmas, thinking it would be the only thing open. But to my surprise I found Dr. Manilas office open. I went in expecting to be turned away. I was greeted by the nicest and friendliest staff. They took some basic information and took me right back. On this day I saw Julie. She was fabulous! I could hardly walk in the office because I was in so much pain. AFTER Julie adjusted my back my pain went away and I was walking like I had never had a problem. I have since seen Dr. Manila 10 more times, having great improvements each time. He truly loves his job and his patients. He wants to help you and enjoys doing it. If you are in need of a first rate chiropractor look no further.

After calling the office three times to verify insurance coverage PRIOR to driving to appointment we were told just to come in and they would verify insurance during FREE consultation! The doctor then explained that they in fact have not taken my insurance for quite awhile now! So they KNEW that we would not be covered and did not need to go there! We were then charged $95 because our 3 mo old xrays were not current enough! We were not greeted upon entering the office! Our quick consultation was very confusing and all over the place! The doctor insisted that we return the next day for a neck manipulation for $45.My daughter was being seen for migraine relief! The end result was that we canceled the next day appointment and are out $95 towards our deductible!Very unsatisfied!!

I am very impressed with Dr. Manela with his knowledge and having a genuine care about your experience at the clinic. The staff is friendly and the care is wonderful as he would let his staff take the time to apply heat and vibration massage to prepare for the adjustment. My treatment would include the use of a laser and the occasional use of a vibrating traction table, which was so comfortable and relaxing, I would almost fall asleep while using it! I had a great experience and would definitely recommend Royal Oak Chiropractic for all of your chiropractic needs.UPDATE: The vibrating traction table is no longer available and has been replaced by a pair of massage chairs that are wonderful in providing a relaxing experience before any adjustments are done. With working at an office job where I sit all day and also doing weightlifting/powerlifting, I definitely benefit from being adjusted often (about once a month). The massage chairs are great and the adjustments always leave me feeling better than I did when I came through the doors. I even had an issue where my insurance happened to not cover something that I thought would be included and Dr. Manela helped me to clear up the issue without me having to pay anything additional out-of-pocket. Five star business all around.

Dr. Manela is extremely passionate about his work and based my results so far is very good at it to. He’s very good at simplifying the ways his treatments are going to be helpful which I really like.His assistant Dani has been incredibly cheerful and helpful during my visits as well.All around great practice.

His years of experience show and I would highly recommend going to him whenever you are experiencing back pain. They also offer physical therapy if you need it.

Dr. Manela has treated me before and everything has been positive with him. He moved from his Royal Oak/ Campbell rd location to Berkley on Woodward Ave. After a year, my discomfort came back. Instead of looking up Dr. Manela I decided going elsewhere. Closer to home, why not there are all about the same, right? They are not. After (2) months of treatment I had no change. TO put it simple, You walk in and are greeted by super friendly staff and once in a while a super cool dog. Dr Manela is awesome. I go in and sit in a massage chair that is pretty much a deep tissue massage. After I get a complete adjustment and most times laser treatment to. I have been to one other chiropractor before and did not receive 90% of this treatment and actually paid more... I leave the office feeling so much better its sort of comical that I been dealing with neck/back pain for so long. He is well educated and treats you with like family. I dont see my self going anywhere else for a long time. Give it a shot you wont be disappointed.

I started seeing the doctor about a month ago with sever lower back pain. I was having trouble sitting or standing for long periods of time. I felt 100% better after the first adjustment. Every couple of days I would go back to the doctor for an adjustment. The full force of the pain never returned and about a day after each adjustment I was noticing my back felt a little better. I returned to my normal routine after that first adjustment and have enjoy being more and more pain free with the continued treatment. I have also noticed other issues have gone away like being able to fully turn my head from side to side. I never realized I had limited movement in my neck until after he started adjusting me. This is the best Chiropractor I have ever been to and I would gladly send my loved ones to him in the future.

I got an adjustment for the first time last week. Afterwards I was able to move my ankle which had been restricted from a nerve strain that happened in January I definitely will be going back. His staff were extremely friendly and polite also.

I was put on Levofloxacin (antibiotic) for pneumonia two months ago. One of the side effects (God forbid) was nephropathy and after completing the does I felt numbness in my ring and little fingers. I went to Dr. Manela and he used his amazing technique of Laser treatments and adjustments, after 4 treatments my numbness is almost completely gone. I will complete his treatment plan and I have faith that I will fully recover from damage caused by the medication. Thank you Dr. Manela!!
