Good Shop. Unfortunately it was once a great shop. Still is worthy of a peek or if you are looking for a specific vintage bike part. Used Bicycles are way overpriced however and I suggest looking elsewhere.

This is an awesome non-profit full service bicycle shop, boat shop, and small Cafe that provides youth training for kids across the East Bay.They receive all of their bikes as tax deductible donations, using them to teach mechanical and retail skills as they refurbish the bikes for sale at their establishment. The prices range from free to reasonable and any bike costing more than $120 comes with a warranty. They also provide bikes to other organizations in need and have work-trade for those who cannot afford a bicycle. During non-Covid times, they also provide a free public workshop on the weekends. The workshop provides a space to work, all the necessary tools, staff to show how to repair ones bike, and new and used parts to effect the repairs. Great place!

They were really helpful in helping me fix a few things on a bike a friend just gave me. He sort of did it for me and also taught me how, and the fees are quite reasonable. Great community vibe.

Got an excellent pieced together (great parts) bike for my son. $100 out the door. These people care about what they do. The money hours to a great program. Call ahead to see what sort of used bikes they have as always changing. GEM of a place!

My boyfriend and I came today and bought a bike, two helmets and a Kryptonite lock. I will say that their prices are good and I think their mission as a non profit organization is great. However, I will say I am very disappointed in the customer service we received from the bike tech. After deciding to purchase the bike, we asked if he would adjust the handle bars to our fit and he explained that they “don’t lend out their tools”. Seriously? It required one simple tool and would be very easy for them to do. I’ve never been to a bike shop that wouldn’t make an adjustment for you if you’re buying a bike from them.

Friendly, knowledgeable and patient staff. Very very helpful for people who not only want to get their bikes tuned up or fixed, but also want to learn to maintain their bikes.

I went in and got a good deal on a tuned-up ready-to-go used bike. As a bike novice this was great for me because I needed a used bike but figuring out the Craigslist listings was beyond me.Additionally they had inexpensive new bike helmets ($21). The staff was very helpful and patient, and you can tell that theyre providing a terrific service that is treasured by the community, whether it be selling affordable bikes, providing training and work experience for volunteers, or providing a free place (with tools, etc.) for cyclists to tune up their bikes.Keep Street Level Cycles in mind if you have a bike to donate!
