Ive worked with three therapists since I was a high school student and, far and away, working with Annie was the best therapy experience Ive had! From a really basic, practical level, Annie is one of the few therapists who seems to get that technology is not evil! She has a great client portal system and I was always able to book or reschedule sessions with her and get all my client paperwork online without having to wait a week in between sessions which Ive experienced with other therapists. She also takes credit cards which was a huge plus for me since I like to earn miles whenever I can.Next, she was actually on time to our sessions and always professional. I know this sounds basic, but Ive had lots of experiences with other therapists who were late to session or who ate their lunch in session or left their phone out. Annie never did that - she was never late once - and I appreciated that. Finally, and most importantly, shes a really good therapist! Shes wise and grounded and really easy to talk to. Its clear, too, that she really cares about her work and that she really cared about me as a client. She went above and beyond sending me resources when I needed them for lawyers, acupuncturists, and even referring me and my partner out to couples counseling. I learned a lot from her and worked through some really painful stuff that was going on for me with my family. I still contact her from time to time when I need a tune-up (especially around the holidays) and shes always able to fit me in. Shes been a huge help to me and I really recommend her as a therapist!

I worked with Annie for a few years during some really tough times when I was dealing with really bad anxiety and needing to make some major decisions with my life and Im so grateful I did!Basically, I was really unhappy in my career and trying to decide between leaving my industry and going back to grad school, plus I was facing the possible end of a relationship and was contemplating moving out of the Bay Area (which I ultimately did). It was a LOT to say the least.I hadnt been to therapy before and was a little skeptical and didnt even know what to look for in a therapist to be honest. But when I first called Annie but she was great at answering all my questions on the call and even took more than the 20 minutes of her free phone consult to take more time to explain to me how therapy worked.I liked speaking with her, she seemed kind and professional, so I booked a first session with her.In our sessions, she helped me clarify my goals and name my wants versus my shoulds (to use her language) and helped me change my thinking about certain situations and to see that I had more options than I thought. She was great at helping me feel my feelings, sure, but she was even better at helping me change my outlook on my life (specifically in feeling less powerless) and make a plan for moving towards what I wanted.Long story short, I did leave my job and went back to grad school, moved out of the Bay and found some courage to start dating again. The therapy work wasnt easy and it wasnt a silver bullet - I did a lot of work outside of therapy to make these big life changes. And while I hated having to end my work with Annie because I left California, but she helped me find a new therapist in my new city which was a huge help (starting over with someone can be overwhelming!). I miss my work with her and highly recommend her, especially if youre a first timer to therapy like I was and are afraid of getting stuck with someone whos a little too California woo-woo. Annies really solid and practical and a good fit if you need someone whos skilled but also grounded and warm.

I was a client of Annies and whole-heartedly recommend her! Shes intelligent, warm, insightful and very skilled. She has a specific interest in helping Millennial women like me navigate the big questions of life: career, finding love, and whether or not to have children. If youre struggling and you can get one of her client spots, I highly suggest working with her!
