Dr. Starr and her staff deserve more than five stars! Its difficult to put your trust in someone whos going to operate on your eyes, but Dr. Starr came highly recommended and throughout the process of cataract surgery, including prep and recovery, she explained every step clearly, answered every question and exibited a professionalism and competence that filled me with confidence. And the results have been terrific! Shes helped greatly by her kind and intelligent staff in the examining rooms and at the front desk. A great team.

My overall experience with this office has been wonderful. The staff is extremely communicative and was able to fit me into their schedule as they were very flexible.Dr. Starr was extremely kind and incredibly thorough when examining and explaining what was going on with my eyes. She took time to listen to my concerns and answer the questions that I had during the visit. Would highly recommend Dr. Starr for the best eye care!

I cannot say how grateful I am for the sight given to me after a laser surgery and treatment for glaucoma and cataract by Dr. Starr. Always professional, patient, and responsive to my calls and concerns before and after the procedures she performed. Her office staff is also tops. I had seen three other ophthalmologists two in Lafayette and another in Pinole who completely missed the type of glaucoma I had and didnt know I needed a laser. I saw Dr. Starr several years ago for the first time and she said I needed a laser to alleviate the pressure and that did the job. I needed cataract surgery last year and that was extremely successful. I do not wear any glasses any more, and my eye pressure is normal without the drops. Dr. Starr has been my eye doctor for several years now, and I love that she is very caring and attentive. Thanks to her diligence and recommendations, weve managed to decrease my extremely high eye pressure (which Ive had for years), and Im grateful for that.

She has been my doctor for 10 years. I have had at least three emergencies, two of them over the weekends and she came in on two Sunday morning, opened the office door and treated me as if it were a regular day. Extremely professional and empathetic and expert in her field. I will never go to another ophthalmologist.

I already left a long review for her office in lafayette but since I was seen in both places , I feel compelled to also share my thoughts here about Dr Tara Starr.She performed a double cataract surgery , implanted some amazing tri focal lenses that gave to both my eyes a perfect vision .I am so happy with the result !I have to add that besides being extremely professional , she is the most sweet and caring doctor I had the pleasure to work with.She even managed my anxiety very well , I always had questions and she was always very generous with her time .Being seen in both offices, I also want to add that all the people working there are very helpful.Thank you Dr Starr for being the best !It was a pleasure to be in your careNadine Samuels

Shes the worst ophthalmologist that I have ever encountered. She...without my permission inserted a Tear Duct Plug into my eye and never told me. I was traveling and was in excruciating pain. I had to pay out of my own pocket to see another Doctor who removed it. NEVER AGAIN WILL SHE GET NEAR ME.

I strongly recommend dr Star. Having been her patient for several years- as well as my husband- I trust her to take good care of my eyes and of me. I appreciate her competence as well as her kindness, knowing that she always tries to help in every way. I had two cataract surgeries from her, as did my husband, and want to give her the highest rating possible.

I wish I could give Dr. Starr many more than the maximum of 5 stars for her exceptional skills and knowledge of the field, together with a pleasant, caring persona. Within the past 12 months, I have had cataract removal from both eyes with excellent results and minimal apprehension. My eyesight is now far better than ever before, in fact it is perfect! Being 68 years old, I have seen many doctors in the Bay Area over the years for my own health issues and for my spouse, children, and grandchildren, but Dr. Starr surpasses all others by far in her personal involvement with the patient’s concerns for wellness. As she is very generous with the time and attention given to all in her practice, it is to be expected that her office schedule may not always run like clockwork. To me, that is a very small price for the superb quality of care provided by Dr. Starr.

Dr. Starr performed cataract surgery in both eyes last month, a couple weeks apart. I was very near sighted, wearing glasses since age 8. She inserted a special lens that also corrected my astigmatism. I have 20/20 vision at distance and near in one eye and 20/15 ( better than 20/20) in the other eye. The surgery was done at Aspen Surgery Center in Walnut Creek which was also very pleasant and smooth. I had heard great things about Dr. Starr as a surgeon, but now, I am the living proof. Very attentive and addressed all my questions before the procedure. It all went smoothly. Very professional and caring. Highly recommend.

Dr. Tara Starr embodies all the qualities of a great physician: Dr. Starr is highly skilled, compassionate and caring, reassuring, attentive and responsive to her patients’ needs and concerns, and, again, highly skilled. She has saved my eyesight. I cannot say enough good things about her!!!

Dr. Starr is a great doctor! She was able to help me with my eye problem. She has a lot of nice frames and she even gave me a free pair of glasses. Shes very nice and accomodating as well as her office staffs. Highly recommended!

Worst eye doctor experience Ive ever had.They lost my prescription, couldnt find it for weeks. Finally they found it, ordered my lenses and I was told it would come in three weeks. After three months of calling them and trying to track down my glasses they told me there was a mix up and they wouldnt be coming. I still get a bill in the mail and when I call to pay they cant find my file and I need to find my bill tell THEM the amount and call back.I highly recommend you DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. So unprofessional.

I have the privilege to be Dr.Starrs patient and so does my husband.It is an experience that I want to share with everybody .If you have any eye problems or you need to have improvements on your face, please ,dont think twice.Dr.Starr treated my wrinkles with volume lift shots (juvederm).She is so excellent and caring Doctor that I dont find enough words to describe her talent and knowledge.She is willing to help and spends a great deal of time listening to her patients.When my sister came to visit me the first thing she told me was that I looked as if I had come from a two week vacation at a fancy Resort but that was not the answer.When I told her, she was amazed at how fresh my face looked.I always tell everybody that my magic wand is called Dr.Starr.She also has very nice people who work for her and her whole team makes one feel at home.Dr.Starr treated my husbandss cataracts.He is very happy with his results, the surgery was a success.He never felt any pain or discomfort during the operation or after, when he got home.His eyes are healing very well and the only thing he has to do is to go to her offie for follow-up.I feel very confident to recommend her and her team, they are all very hard working professionals who are 100% dedicated to their patients need. Please dont hesitate to call her, you wont regret it.
