What a joy to find this place, and the amazing hair stylist Kory. Not only is he a sweetheart, but also a fabulous stylist who gave me the cutest hair style after the long pandemic doldrums. As soon as a I left the salon, a woman came up to me to compliment me on my great hair! Great ambience and professionalism. I will definitely be returning.

I am not sure of the staffs name who cut my hair but she did it very good. My hair used to be thick and the hair ends are super dry & dead. I asked for suggestions and she handled my hair case very well. She gave me a good look and also did scalp treatment. It was really good. The price is quite expensive but for me it is like super needed for a change and it was a good change so no complaints. Thank you AYA!

I was able to get an appointment spontaneously with a senior stylist. Kory was great. He just got me. Understood what I wanted and needed. Was super easy to talk to. I booked him again for next week for a color appointment. Felt super safe re COVID and all. I came to this salon many times, probably for 7 plus years, before, but this was one of the nicest appointments I’ve had. I like Kory.

I loved my wedding hair! They were so accommodating and did a great job, especially with all my last minute changes.

Got a perfect bob there by one of the people-in-training, Arianna Stathakos. She also started the treatment with a relaxing breathing practice and a sculp massage. Their products are all natural.

Ive been coming here for years, since they were Artbeat. I went in for a normal haircut with Kory and said I wanted some length taken off but I didnt want a lob - I wanted it longer because i like to put my hair in a bun for natural curls. I showed a couple pictures too. Well he trimmed some to a perfect length... and then kept going. I went home and cried because it was so much shorter than Id asked. Ive been growing my hair out for 4 years and just like that, he took it away from me. Thats not something that can be fixed easily, but when I called to politely express my dissatisfaction, they offered me a $25 credit towards a future service (after a $90 nightmare haircut). Apparently their policy doesnt take into account the idea of exchanging services for money, because despite not getting a service that I was at all satisfied with, they do not do refunds. If you want a stylist who listens to your requests and carries them out, this is not the salon for you.

More expensive than supercuts, etc., (speaking from mens haircut side) but you definitely look 10x better. Ive had my hair cut by a few stylists here and was surprised they could make my hair look that good. Im generally cheap, but coming here makes me more confident going on business trips/important meetings/etc.Stylists were always very friendly, conversational when you want them to be but definitely not overly so. Very chill atmosphere - and you can get a head massage too.

Cut 5 inches off my daughter’s hair when she had asked for an inch off. Was cut on a slant so then she had to have more cut off. When we complained, they returned the money but their attitude was condescending superior and off-hand.Neither of us would ever go there to have our hair done again ( they are also too pushy with their product selling) but a year later, yesterday, my daughter tried to book a wax at the spa and was told she was banned for complaining!! When I suggested that this was terrible customer relations to blame a client for THEIR bad workmanship, Mia, the manager put the phone down on me?Sadly a horrible experience all round.

They offer nothing short of amazing hair styles at a very reasonable price. I recommend!

Well, if you are looking for customer service, it’s not here, sadly. After a minor hair issue recently, the handling was so poor and misguided, even after multiple attempts to seek assistance.I would recommend only going if you are confident you will like what you get.Unfortunate as they’re so convenient on Solano.

My teenage niece gets her haircut here and they do a good job she seems to really like it!

Jill has been cutting my hair for ages...she rocks. Everyone here is nice, polite, helpful, and efficient. Aveda salons arent cheap, but you get what you pay for.

I went here faithfully while I lived in Berkeley. Now, whenever I want to make a major change to my hair, I only go see Hillary, because she is the best at what she does. Ive had a couple of really bad experiences getting my hair colored at other salons; two times at other salons using Aveda colors my hair came out highlighter orange and I then had to spend a lot of money having Hillary correct the color. I have learned the hard way on coloring and cuts that the service I get at other salons doesnt come close to what I get at Aya (Previously Art Beat Salon). Overall, this place is a spectacular salon. It is expensive, but worth the money. If Hillary ever leaves I may not go back because she is my stylist.
