Berkeley Hearing Center gets my highest possible recommendation! I went in to get some custom tips made for my Westone in-ear monitors. Jonathan and John are consummate professionals and a joy to work with. The fit of one of the tips was initially not perfect, and Jonathan insisted upon iterating on it until I was completely satisfied. The net result is that Im simply delighted with the finished product. As an aside, the new location (a converted Victorian) is great and features plenty of free parking in the front lot. A fabulous experience in every aspect. Thanks again, Gentlemen!

Jonathan has been utterly professional, yet personable, and has patiently steered me through the technical aspects of hearing aid acclimation. More importantly, he has a level of empathy which makes the psychological acceptance of my condition less onerous. I highly recommend him for this process!

I can’t say enough about my entire experience at Berkeley Hearing Center. Jonathon has vast knowledge and experience not to mention patience and compassion. My type of hearing loss coupled with sound sensitivity due to migraine makes my hearing aide needs tricky. With that in mind I was actually referred to Jonathan by another audiologist because she knew he would have the expertise required for my situation. She was absolutely right. Jon, who runs the front of the house so to speak was also wonderful to work with. This is THE practice to come to for thorough, compassionate, expert care.

This has probably been my best-ever consumer experience. Jonathon was SO patient, well-informed, and intelligent that for the first time ever, my mother was able to find hearing aides (after trying at 3 other places over the last 3 years). He was extremely patient and thoughful, and, I think, tried out 7 different kinds over 9 months with her, until he found one that was workable for her (my mothers ears are small!). He explained everything in clear and thoughtful ways that left my mother willing to follow through with all his instructions (my mother was a scientist). So, I can not recommend this place highly enough. People were friendly, kind, patient, knowledgeable, and willing to go beyond the normal limit to make sure things are right for people.

Berkeley Hearing Center has taken care of my hearing assessment and hearing aid needs for the last 4 years — a HUGE improvement over the hospital associated hearing service Inused to use. Jonathan has been great and the Resound hearing aids he recommended are wonderful. I highly recommend the Berkeley Hearing Center!

I tried several audiologists and hearing aid dispensers after moving from Arizona (where I had a wonderful audiologist) to Berkeley, choosing those recommended by folks I knew or well-reviewed. Ive settled on Berkeley Hearing Center for their combination of competence and generosity. Heres an example: Ive occasionally had to replace the microphone piece that extends into the ear from my Siemens Pure aid. My three experiences with that: the hearing aid dispenser I tried told me it wasnt covered by Siemens warranty, and charged me for it. The other audiologist got me a new piece under warranty, but charged me a bundle for installing it, saying I couldnt do it myself because it required a special tool unlike an earlier Siemens model I had owned. My third experience with Jonathan at BHC: he got me a new piece under warranty, showed me the special tool (basically a simple pin with a handle), and how to use it (pretty simple), and then gave me a spare he had in case I needed it again! This comparison basically summarizes the overall difference in my experiences.

I am in my mid-70s and was diagnosed with progressive, high range hearing loss. After thorough research, two years ago I selected Berkeley Hearing Center as my provider. Owner and experience audiologist Jonathan Lipschutz tested my hearing and assisted me in selecting my Resound LINX2 hearing aids. These devices have really made a difference in my ability to hear and comprehend what others are saying, especially in public settings where there is background noise. Jonathan has been very patient in getting my devices fitted properly and teaching me how to manage them effectively. Office manager John Chakan has been very efficient in accommodating my request for office consultations. I can recommend this professional service unconditionally.
