Love my doctor. But good luck trying to get in the see your doctor when you actually need them. Usually takes a few weeks or longer. Then they tell you to go to Urgent Care if need be, well thanks my copay costs more to do that. The system isnt working. Rude service at times as well depending on who is answering phones. Difficult times understood, but it seems like Summit Health has grown too big for its own good and less quality service is reality.

You can get all medical services at one placeThere is no need to drive extra miles to get a medical exam done. They not only have the infrastructure but also the equipment and specialized professionals to take care of you.Their staff is super polite and you get remainders of your apointments over your phone or email so there is no missing information. The waiting time is also pretty reasonable. So having said this, I recommend this place for anyone who wants to get the best medical attention in the market.

I showed up early for my appointment, was brought into the room by a young girl medical assistant who asked me a couple of questions and prepared me for Dr. Abirs exam. When Dr. Abir entered the room, he did not say anything to me, introduce himself or anything. Dr. Abir spent, without exaggeration, 5 seconds to exam me from behind. He removed his gloves and left-again without saying anything to me. The MA then handed me a poor looking photocopy of a single sheet that looked like it has been copied over and over since 1985.I received a bill for $942. Now after insurance paid the covered amount, I am left with almost $700 for the few seconds, a ditto sheet and a medication that is available OTC. The MA did more than the physician, but yet the whole experience was a whirlwind of how fast I was seen and shuffled out. I think the charge is outrageous especially since I was not worth Dr. Abirs time to see if I had any questions or explain his findings. I am not even sure how he wrote an encounter note without hearing about my history, concern or anything. There was zero physician-patient interaction otherwise. No one should be billing $1000 for 5 seconds. No one ever communicated to me the physician’s findings, except a teenage girl who handed me a poor quality photocopy. So, is that how medical care and findings are presented to the patient? From a teenage assistant? How do I know she handed me the correct information?I was billed nearly $1000 for less than 10 seconds of his time. That translates to the physician billing $360,000 per hour at that rate.I communicated my displeasure in care/billing with the Billing Dept and the Customer Experience Dept. They decided that the care was appropriate based upon the physician’s note. I can almost guarantee that his note is a template that he had someone paste my name into. I emailed the Chief Experience Officer as well twice with no response. Now they are sending me to collections as I try to find someone who cares that I have no idea what Dr. Abir found - or maybe it wasnt Dr. Abir who examined me - I have no idea.It seems like Summit Health/City MD is now too big to offer quality patient care. It is becoming a factory. You may be better off seeking a sole practitioner that cares about his/her patients and will actually look you in the face, greet you and explain what the diagnosis is.

They bill you like crazy. Doctors will order very expensive tests without informing patients that the tests will have heavy cost. They don’t give patients an opportunity to check coverage with your insurance and then later send BIG bills. They customer service is extremely poor! And as someone else stated, they will ruin your credit for $50 even though they made thousands of dollars off of your insurance companies.I personally WONT recommend Summit Medical Group. There are many better options than this place!

Do not make the mistake of seeing Dr. Uzma Chatha. She has caused me and my son so much aggravation I feel compelled to warn others. She discontinued use of a medication that she had not prescribed because she was unaware of its off label use. She had not familiarized herself with the common genetic condition my son has at any time during the past year she has treated him. When I tried repeatedly to call her, she ignored my calls and insisted that the prescribing physician call her. Only then did she stop the cancellation of the needed medication. She refused to see my son for a preop examination in a timely fashion or to refer him to a colleague who could see him when needed. His surgery would have been cancelled had I not requested medical clearance from the physician who cared for him before he started with her.. Again she refused to return my calls. When she did see him for the pre-op evaluation, she did not detect the two hernias that were present. She wrote on the chart that the abdomen and genital exams were normal. But two days later, my son had severe abdominal pain and needed emergency surgery to repair a large inguinal hernia and a recurrence of a hernia on the opposite side. Knowing that he had had a hernia repair earlier in life, a proper physical exam should have prompted a more careful check of his inguinal area. I dont think she had him pull his pants down low enough to see his groin, or to properly examine the inguinal canal. She had also seen him 6 months before, and did not detect the hernias at that exam either. Now, with more concern for her own liability than for any real risk to my son, she refused to sign another physical for to permit him to participate in a field trip. She is a callous, arrogant, unskilled physician, who is indifferent to my sons needs and too haughty to return phone calls..I am a physicianmyself, and I recognize her poor medical skills and lack of interpersonal care. She does not deserve the one star that was required to post this review

Decent doctors and convenient location, but be warned of their awful billing department. They will happily send you to a collections agency and harm your credit over an overlooked $50 bill - while you spend thousands per year there and visit the offices dozens of times - without a single instance of asking, did you know you have an old charge and would you like to settle it?So unfortunate that there is a complete lack of customer service. For such a large institution, it seems it wouldn’t be hard to put a little effort into this.

Hi I just want to complain that some of your staff does not know how to treat their patients professionally, i was recommended to go to the vascular clinic to have doppler studies done. I was there May 15, 2020 and as soon as they found out i was positive with covid, the reaction of one of the staff was very rude, he even made comments why am i even out of the house and i should be in quarantine, i have been in quarantine since march 28. He didnt even know how hard i have been through but the way he reacted towards on what i have is unacceptable. He treated me like i was really contagious. He was very unprofessional to send me out of their office at the back door and told me that they dont accept covid patients, they should have told the person they spoke to about the appointment before they approved it. I was not the one who made the appointment, it was a referral from City MD. Im hoping your staff will learn the proper way to talk to people with respect. I understand their fear of the virus, im a nurse myself but i would not talk like the way he did in any of my patients. He had no sympathy at all. I have to report this so people would not experience what i have experienced with your staff.

While the doctors are somewhat competent, office staff and associated policies feel like a throw-back from the 80s. More to do with rules, policies and overall impersonal environment. Reading Glassdoor comments gives you the feeling (not surprising) there is serious issues with employee base and leadership; us vs. them. While most of the buildings are new or renovated, you sense there was little creativity or thought process how to make the overall environment patient friendly and less bland, featureless. A visit to the west coast would serve leadership well to better understand how to deliver an improved customer (patient) experience

All the medical people are fine, docs, techs and nurses but the administrative staff treats patients as if you are nothing but an annoyance, terrible terrible experience. Administrative staff does not have a clue about dealing with patients, no help or understanding.

Then once there, they like to talk you into excessive tests, even when the patient explicitly says not to. Also one of the highest basic annual gynecological visits I’ve ever had at over $1000 When I went back to speak to someone about the excessive tests I was charged for, I couldn’t get past the entrance desk and the nurse who ordered them wasn’t working there anymore.

The doctors at this place are fantastic but the accounting is horrible! My experience with the urgent care at this location is this:Go into the urgent care to get looked at. Get told I have no co-pay and receive no bill. About six months later I get a call from a collection agency stating I had an unpaid bill from Summit Medical Group and what would have been a $10 bill is now a $330 dollar bill, which I never received in the first place. When I contacted their accounting department they told me that I was out of luck and that if I didnt pay the collection agency that my credit score would suffer. So with that said the doctors here are great, but the Summit Medical Group itself is a bunch of money grubbers who have zero sympathy and will not hesitate to screw you over absolutely. When you go here be VERY careful about making sure you receive a bill, because if you didnt chances are youll get a call from a collection agency six months later.

I am a new patient so I asked if they take my insurance which is Aetna PPO and I was told they do and she proceeded to make my appointment and take my information including my member number. My appointment was today, drive 22 miles to get there and when I checked in the lady says, did they tell you we don’t take your insurance we take Aetna but not all plans. I would not have drove all the way there if they did not I would have not wasted a week of my time where I could have found another office to go to that accepts my insurance. No compassion and didn’t even seem to care that time is of the essence in this situation. Definitely need to retrain the staff that makes appointments and takes patients information so that no one else is mislead and wastes their time.

The wait time is reasonable, the staff, professional, and the facilities clean. At one point I had forgotten to get blood work prior to a regular appointment. When I called the office to re-schedule my appointment, they suggested I call the main office and see if I could come down for blood work that weekend (I believe I wound up going in on a Sunday!), so I wouldnt have to reschedule my appointment, I called, and was able to get the blood work done. I was glad I didnt have to miss my appointment. I would certainly recommend Dr. Rosenbaum, and if it werent so far away (40 minutes) I would likely try switching my general physician to someone there. I cant believe the reviews I am reading. The Summit Medical Group uses a care model that all other providers should be struggling to obtain. 90% of all diagnostic procedures that doctors normally prescribe after the initial visit can be done on-site, and in many cases on the same day. All data is centralized (no more lugging your test results back to the primary physician).Need a medication? All your records are available to any specialist so concern about countra-indications is mitigated.Tired of waiting to be seen, I have never had to wait more that 10 minutes (and that was a fluke) to see my care giver. Try that in any other Doctors office, I dare you.All-in-all I had to write this to set the record straight. Big business medical centers like Overlook Hospital crank out patients, care little for their time, and basically provide cattle call health care. At Summit Medical Center (SMC) doctors take time, explain thoroughly because they are not forced to crank out so many visits a day. Big Tip: respect their time, they will respect yours. BE ON TIME, CALL IF YOU HAVE TO CANCEL.It is a shame that when a medical model like SMC is created the critics come out. Nothing is perfect, but this is the gold standard of health care. Who know, maybe some critics work for the competition.

Great medical care, TERRIBLE back office operations (payments, medical coding, etc.)EVERY time in the past two years, they have coded the same treatment wrong which results in my insurance not covering the bill (coding as experimental treatments). Then when they perform a coding review, it takes 6+ weeks which results with them trying to send my balance to collections during the process. If you ever have coverage issues, make sure they coded the treatment properly, because it is a major issue that I found, not my insurer (BCBS), not SMG, but ME! I would not be surprised if this happens regularly and whats their incentive to change? None, if people pay the unwarranted costs, they make money; and if theyre wrong theres no penalty for them. To put it in perspective, my treatment when covered costs me $50 (and my insurance pays a reduced charge of $500), without coverage, its $950...I work for a major pharmaceutical company and its amazing to me how inefficiently some of these HCPs operate.... The practice of drug pricing in this country could be improved, but the true issues lie with the providers - think about the amount of times theyve probably done this to those covered by medicare...

After doing a lot of research and consults with doctors for a plastic surgery procedure I found Dr. Reza Momeni. Making my appointment was a breeze. The ladies at the front desk are all so nice, accommodating, understanding, and polite. After having my consultation with Dr. Momeni and Nurse Mary I knew he was the doctor for me and scheduled my procedure for 2 weeks later. By the way, Nurse Mary was by far the coolest nurse I ever met. Talking to her was like talking to a lifelong friend. I felt so comfortable through the whole process. I healed in record time with minimal pain, swelling, and discomfort. All of which I was prepared for the worst. I am so glad I chose Dr. Momeni, and highly recommend him to anyone in search of an expert of plastic surgery. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

The billing department is just plain incompetent and unresponsive. Also, after taking my son to the emergency room there I was perplexed to see office disruption as an item in the bill sent to my insurance company. I am so very sorry to disrupt you from milking insurance with bogus charges and having to actually deal with patients instead, Summit Medical Group.Having said that, I actually have nothing but praise for the doctors that work there. But the place has to sort out the billing mess.

This is the medical version of the giant vampire squid sucking blood in wall street! First of all, this giant medical group is more expensive than other doctors, the amounts this group bills are always at least twice as expensive as other smaller more normal doctor groups weve used, and insurance companies actually pay them double the amounts would pay other doctors! Our latest surprise, my kid had a dislocated elbow and we visited the office for that. The doc spoke to us for one minute and spent 5 seconds to fix the dislocation. No problem, ok, until we got the bill: my insurance was billed for $500 of this procedure in additional to the office visit, and the insurance approved for $450 but we have to pay all this due to deductible! So for 5 seconds of work, we need to pay $400+, what a ripoff! This is why this countrys health system is corrupted, nowhere to complain and the doctors can ask for whatever they want!Like another reviewer said, stay away if you value your hard-earned money.

The doctors there seem OK but what I HATE about SMG is their billing. Even though you go in for one thing, they will bill you for multiple things. I went in for physical therapy for an evaluation but got billed for an evaluation AND a therapy session. I didnt even know I was getting a therapy session bc the appointment was for an evaluation! Similarly, when I went into urgent care for chest pains, I saw only ONE doctor but was billed FOUR co-pays with names of 2 other doctors I DIDNT SEE attached to the bill! I paid my co-pay when I first showed up at urgent care and then they sent me a bill with a co-pay for the X-ray doctor that I did not see, one for EKG doctor that I did not see, and one for the urgent care doctor that I saw but thought I had already paid the co-pay for! It makes no sense! And the coding on the bills they send you do NOT match up to the coding on the claims sheet from the health insurance company. Its shady and annoying enough to make me leave.
