I love the folks at Belmont Pet shop and am often stopped on the street by folks inquiring about Coco’s groomer. “Where to you get your dog groomed? She looks great!” I highly recommend them. We especially love Aaron.

I have taken my puppy to Belmont Pet Shop for a year now. They are so knowledgeable about what works best for him. Their products are all great. I totally trust that whatever I get for him there will be healthy and good quality! I’m a new pet owner and Caitlin ( the shop owner) has answered many questions and made several spot on suggestions that I appreciate !Also- Aaron has groomed my pup all year as well. He does such a great job! He is skilled, careful and my dog loves him which says a lot! Plus I love how my pup looks when he come home! I highly recommend the Belmont Pet Shop!

My senior cat needed grooming for the first time because she was getting matted. I was recommended to the Belmont pet shop. They practiced good Covid measures, picking up my cat in her carrier in the parking lot and bringing her back out to me when finished (with masks and gloves etc). They said my cat was very sweet so it sounds like they did not have any problems. But mostly I’m happy because my cat seems to feel much better after a wash and brushing out.

Amazing local pet shop. Pivoted to online/phone ordering with curbside pickup due to covid. Staff are so helpful and communicative should there be an issue with your order. Huge variety of products for all types of pets. Cant recommend Belmont Pet Shop enough!

Management changed 2 years ago and now the store is better than ever. Young, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Get a yellow bag and save on many items. And the groomer is superb. My dog loves her.

Wonderful staff willing to help you with any questions you might have. Recently went to their anniversary party and they were so incredibly hospitable and generous! Great spot to get some fancy bones and treats for your pup as well as high quality food.

I sent them an email regarding something my pup desperately needs and within 5 minutes they got right back to me...When I went to pick it up the employee brought it right out and she was super friendly and also recommended something else which may be helpful!!!This is our new pet shop!!!!

Great place and people. Easy walk in to clip my parakeets nails. Thought the price was a little high though $15 and it only took 1 minute

The lady working was so nice and gave me some sample dog food bags for my dog to try out which is great since he is very spoiled and I didnt want to buy a 20 pound bag just to realize he wont eat it! She did say they allow returns if that happens as well though. Overall very pleasant experience and will likely bring my dog there for other services like grooming as well

Pricey but the staff is knowledgeable and they only stock quality products that are good for your pets. They also have a program where if you buy 12 bags of food to get the 13th one free. I know my dog has been enjoying their selection so I will be coming back.

This pet shop used to be a little drab and the service was sometimes hit or miss. However, theyve redone the inside and the staff is super friendly and welcoming! We bring our dog here for grooming and get food here and theyve been very helpful. Even offered to exchange food if my dog didnt like it, and theyd help me find something that worked.

So I had the honor of bringing my Havanese dog to Belmont Pet Shop earlier this morning for a grooming. I was referred here by a friend of mine.What a positive experience I encountered as soon as I walked through their doors, with friendly staff and the groomer, Aaron right by my side to get on track to cut my dog’s hair and gathering his information (i.e. breed, age, length of cut etc.). I found the staff very open and knowledgeable.I did bring my own Aloe shampoo with me for the grooming because my dog has allergies and dry skin so he can only use a certain particular shampoo. Aaron has no problem using it once I told him.He called me when my dog was done with the grooming. As soon as I picked him up I was like “WOW.” What an amazing job they did. It was the best grooming that my dog received and I must say I am their new customer. Aaron did a phenomenal job with Cooper.Kudos to Aaron and the entire staff. A very friendly and knowledgeable pet shop. They are very caring.

Love Belmont pet shop! They have all the niche brands that us folks who care about what goes into our pets bodies as much as what goes into our own. The place is huge, staff is warm and friendly and knowledgeable. Parking is plenty.

This store has some of the most dedicated and enthusiastic staff Ive seen in Boston. They offer pet boarding and grooming for all sorts of animals. Prices of supplies are a bit high, but they have great quality products.

Love coming here. Sometimes I bring my dog and he picks out a treat! Great selection of kibbles and kitty food. My fluffers are very happy with what Ive gotten at Belmont Pet Shop. Well worth the $$

It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this review. On February 26th at 8:00am I brought our two dogs in for their grooming with Aaron. When I came in to pick up our 3 year old Australian Shepherd, Ruby, at 2:15pm, she took several steps towards me and collapsed on the spot. After several minutes, I was able to finally get her into the car with the help of Aaron. I rushed Ruby straight to her vet, and we arrived at approximately 2:30pm. During her visit at the vet, we discovered severe bruising on her abdomen where it was clearly visible. After some initial tests, the vet instructed us to bring her to the ER. When she arrived at the ER at approximately 3:30pm, she was already in critical condition. She spent the night at the ER while doctors tried to discover the cause of her problems. The next day, on February 27th at 2:00pm, we unfortunately had to make the very difficult decision to put Ruby to sleep. She passed away on February 27th at 3:00pm.Let me preface this by saying that her cause of death was in no way due to anything that Aaron had done. While I was at the vet with Ruby, my wife had contacted Belmont Pet Shop, and they further elaborated on the events that transpired while Ruby was there. An hour after Ruby was dropped off she could no longer stand on her own. They continued to bathe her, groom her and dry her while rolling her around on the floor while she was effectively dying. At no point did they volunteer any of this information, we had to keep asking them for more details.If you love your pets, my sincerest recommendation would be to never bring them to Belmont Pet Shop. While I dont think they would ever intentionally hurt an animal, the fact that it never occurred to them that this was not normal behavior for a dog is startling. If they had contacted us, maybe we would have gotten a few more hours with Ruby before she passed away, instead of her being tortured.

I recently moved back to Belmont after several years out of state and was excited to see Miss Loretta. I called today and asked to speak with her because I wanted to make sure she was working before showing up. The receptionist rudely snapped, “Loretta hasn’t owned this place for 3 years.” then hung up on me. Such a trashy way to represent a business and the owners should be embarrassed. Belmont Pet Shop was my one stop shop for all of my pet needs when’s Loretta owned it but clearly the new owners have no care for their customers and the actions of their staff so I will not be going back.

This store is a 20 min walk from my house. Its perfect for me and my puppy. We walk there to get Meenas nails clipped, then walk back. Also they have a huge food selection and treats.

This place has healthy food for dogs, cats, and other critters. I have a family of very healthy and happy society finches that enjoy organic seed and big bunches of millet thanks to this store. I feed my birds on about $10 a month. I walk through aisles of high quality treats and food for dogs and cats, on my way to the bird section. I think this is one of the best stores in the area for high quality pet food and treats. I live in Somerville and take the bus to get there. It takes me 2 hours and $20, to guarantee my birds health and happiness for the next 2 months. I’m very happy to have found it because no other store that I’ve been to offers the same level of quality.

Such a nice shop. The women who work here are the nicest. They treat you and your pets like youre the most welcome sight theyve seen all day. Youre not going to find bargain-basement prices, but Id take Belmont Pet Shop over the huge box stores any day.

Staff is great and very helpful. Very wide and healthy selection of food for all pets as well as training supplies and treats/toys. Can be a little pricy compared to a Target or Petco etc... But in my opinion the selection is much better and worth a visit.

This is a wonderful neighborhood pet store. They carry great products as do grooming as well. Terrific staff and service.

All the employees are so happy and helpful. Also all the products are well stocked and clean...the new owner made a fantastic treat wall. I love the new manger is knowledgeable and friendly.

Recently I experienced their grooming service, and was not comfortable. I needed to change the first appointment for an urgent reason. I told them change the appointment and agreed having a grooming 2 hours later. However, shop people including the shop owner charged me cancellation fee extra. They didnt ask me the reason why I needed to change the appointment, and they just repeat their policy it was a cancellation. although it was a change appointment. Furthermore, they didnt say thank you for my first visit. They looked at me like I committed a crime. Their attitude was disrespectful for a client. I dont recommend this shop at all. They showed me their anger and I was not comfortable. They got money from me $145 for one dog grooming treating me very badly. They insisted to charge me $60 for cancellation fee for the appointment change. Too severe and too expensive. The owner tells me If it is urgent, please call me in advance. But it doesnt work because the things are urgent, we cannot call them. It means, They think about themselves only. They dont think a client.

Theres probably no other person in pet food retail who is as knowledgeable as Loretta, the owner of Belmont Pet Shop. She can help you with small animals, dogs, cats, birds, and any other animal you might have a question about. She has helped me SEVERAL times with food issues and has always been right on with her advice. The pet food she carries in the store is the best you can get, and for those of us who hold our pets close as part of our families, Im thankful for the confidence that I am feeding my pet the best I can.

I cant believe weve lived nearby for a year and didnt know about this place. Excellent selection of quality food and supplies. The staff was helpful too, even steering me towards more economical choices. So glad Im not stuck going to a big box anymore.

They boarded my mousei think there was an EMF teleporting device in the backroom. they fattened up my mouse good and provided very nice shelter there while i was in a homeless shelter. i was scared of the pig ears on the counter being vegan myself. i like this pet store. i heard the owner sold it to a new owner. board small animals here.

I’ve never really shopped at a small pet shop before, usually box chain locations. After visiting Belmont I’m wondering why? Knowledgeable staff who care about me and my pet! Sadly the many box chain staff could rarely answer questions about their products. We’re on Fromme products now for my dog’s food sensitivities and my dog is now a Chrunchy O’s addict! The parrot is a hoot too! Great job Caitlyn and Jen!
