The staff at Tails a Wagging has been so amazingly helpful and generous with me. From soothing my anxiety the first day I dropped him off (I was crying in the car! and Kate came out to help me decide if he was ready to be there.) to the ways they have gone above and beyond to help me and my dog learn, succeed and integrate. They have sent tons of information on training and given me personal phone calls and meetings. My dog got rejected from another daycare because he needed too much attention. Tails works with him. And, I have seen huge improvements in his training since he has been thing. I love using the webcams so I can actually learn and watch how they are interacting with the dogs. When my pup had a scuffle with another dog - they called right away, cleaned up his minor little scratch, gave me a full account of what happened and everything they were doing to support my dog to be a good pack member - AND! they met with me and him one-on-one with in 2 days to talk about how to help me with his social skills. I can not exclaim enough how well cared for I feel as a client there. I genuinely feel like the staff is invested in my dogs success and willing to offer so much more than just a daycare. I am on a tight budget and this is the best investment I have made in my pups well-being. I will admit that the split between the online app for scheduling, the website for registering for classes/privates felt really cumbersome to me and I felt overwhelmed. But, it was a breeze once I figured it out and the staff was patient with me.

Im dedicated to coming back for training at Tails a wagging for each class! The enthusiasm of the trainers is infectious and Im all for catching that because the stress of a bossy Chihuahua has put me out of restaurants at times. This positive reinforcement training is new to me and has been the best tool so far. I had my doubts but Angela is the best at what she does and I saw results in 3 weeks.

My pup absolutely loves Tails! She is always taken care of and has an absolute blast, and has certainly become a better puppy with the help of the staff and owner, who regularly reaches out with valuable games and training tips to work on any problem areas with your pup. The training is also fantastic and a great value; its an amazing environment to challenge your pup and you will learn a lot! Weve finished 1 class and are enrolled in the next, and cant wait to continue. TAW ROCKS!

My dog, Locket, is so excited every time we drive up to the facility that she and can barely contain her enthusiasm to go in and see her friends--both human and canine. As we were driving away today, I told my husband, I am so happy we have such a great resource so close by.And its not just that she loves school, but the trainers have helped me address her leash reactivity with compassion and skill. Locket continues to improve on her leash. Just the other day, three different dogs barked and lunged at her on our neighborhood walk and when I said, Leave it she looked at me and trotted right alongside me for more treats without looking back at them. I consider this a big win.I know that her ongoing time with lots of dogs at Tails has her better socialized, the enrichment games have her more focused, and my work with her at home has her listening more to me and more ready to pay attention to me than she used to be. And, due to all of these contributing factors, my own anxiety is diminished when we walk, which clearly translates to the other end of the leash, making her more confident and self-assured, since I am more relaxed and responsive.thanks again for all you do to make life better And for helping me help my dog live her best life.ADDED TO ORIGINAL REVIEW on 4/20/2021-- My dog continues to improve in her leash reactivity. After months of her neighborhood walk going well, I tested her skills in a more challenging environment and she did awesome! We walked around Lake Padden with lots of dogs on leashes with no incident. I was able to use the skills I learned from the training sessions at Tails to keep my dogs attention on me without tugging on her leash or ever getting frustrated with her.I am convinced that the ongoing socialization she has with the dogs at Tails coupled with the intelligent training methods and interactive games they play has been the key ingredient to a transformed walking experience. I couldnt be more thrilled with our progress.ADDED to Original Review 6/18- Not only does Locket get great care at Tails, but Angie has answered many of my questions with care and insight to help me keep Locket successful at home. The service you pay for is not just the time at daycare, it is the ongoing support and help and guidance they provide so generously in off hours. Highly recommend- it keeps getting better.

I would not recommend taking your puppy here!! I took my dog to two levels of puppy kindergarten. The first level went well and I feel my puppy got a lot out of it and had a lot of positive experiences. So I signed up for their level two puppy kindergarten but had a different trainer. The class started just as my puppy entered her first fear period and was timid around other dogs and needed to take things slow. The class was complete CHOAS for the first 4 weeks and I ended up not even attending the last two sessions because I felt my puppy was developing more issues going to these classes. There was only one trainer with 6-8 puppies and she clearly couldn’t handle it all. The trainer there did not advocate for my dog and continually let my puppy get overwhelmed to the point of snapping at other dogs after that happened THREE times I knew I couldn’t even trust the trainer. I had to point out to her that my puppy is clearly overwhelmed and only after that did she acknowledge that my puppy did seem scared. I feel my puppy ended our course here being MORE afraid of other dogs than gaining any sort of confidence. My advice to you: if you need help socializing your timid puppy take them somewhere else!!

I actually found them when I was looking for pet cremation. They are not just a kennel, its pet grooming, and a cemetery, too. Their cremation services are the same as any other place you will find but they are the best price you will find, about a $200.00 less difference than their competition. I really do, highly recommend tails a wagging to any pet owner.

This place is super convenient for dog owners who live in the heart of Bellingham and dont want to travel outside of the city to take your fog to a daycare with grass or any type of field for your dog to run around in nature. The management here is very strict with their policies and the dogs are held to very high standards (in my opinion to a fault). I spent thousands of dollars here over a period of 9 months taking my dog to classes, daycare and private training with multiple hoops to jump through. I spent hours upon hours working with my dog on both obedience and crate training all upon their recommendation, my dog broke out of and damaged 3 different types of crates hurting himself. In the end I was told we were still not welcome back to daycare and my dog did not meet the behavior requirements. I took my dog to another daycare 10 minutes further into the county, with open fields and room to run and play with the other dogs and was told my dog was very well behaved and well trained. They love him there. I will not be returning to Tails nor would I recommend it to anyone I know. Management needs to work on their communication style, the way they talk to their customers is rude and demeaning. The classes are a complete waste of time and money. I felt tricked into paying crazy amounts of money only to be told we needed more training and had more hoops to jump through. If your dog is old, or hates running around, loves being in a crate this place is for you, if your dog wants to run around and play with other dogs, I recommend you go somewhere else.

We were working on adopting a dog from the humane society - unfortunately we decided that we werent ready for another dog quite yet (new home owners, felt overwhelmed)Tails A Wagging however helped us out throughout the process of getting Sadie (who was happily adopted only a week after our change of mind) started and we were referred by numerous friends. Their customer service was great and the prices are very fair.I love the doggy cams where you can check on your pets playtime which I stared at for half our visits in there. DOGS

Tails-A-Wagging is a top notch, professional dog training and doggie daycare facility. Their staff are extremely knowledgeable, professional and experienced. The dog trainers utilize only positive, reward based training methods that are kind, gentle and effective. The doggie daycare staff care for the dogs as if they were family. The facility is well maintained, safe and kept extremely clean. In addition, TAW works tirelessly to advocate and help the Whatcom Humane Society and several other animal welfare and rescue groups in the community. I cant say enough good things about this business. I highly recommend their services and appreciate all they do.

3 Dogs7 YearsFirst Came Chloe who attended puppy class before starting her weekly romps at Tails. She was a natural-playful and social. Then came Fiona. She is a rescue who came from a terrible situation. Fearful, shy, timid. And then there is Madeline who was one of Angi’s fosters (yes, she fosters dogs, cats, pups and kittens). With a very gentle nudge she became our third. Confident and bossy she had the immense benefit of starting her life in Angi’s care. The staff at Tails knew how to nurture and teach each of these very different girls. For the past seven years we have taken them for their busy, happy day at Tails and during that timethe three pups have grown into three lovely dogs.We are very grateful.

We witnessed some resource guarding (food and bones) with our Golden Retriever at 9 weeks of age. Having two kids, it was very important to us to correct this bevavior immediately. We called Angie and she was able to give us a FREE consult over the phone as well as send us an electronic resource guarding document. Within days of following her advice we noticed HUGE improvements. After a week its nearly gone. We are currently enrolled in her Puppy Preschool and will soon be moving on to Puppy Kindergarden. We love this place! She and her staff are very knowledgeable in all things doggies. THANK YOU!!

Ive taken two classes with Tails A Wagging and I will definitely be coming back for more. They worked wonders with my leash aggressive cockapoo and my deaf cockapoo, who took the Managing the Growlies and Ruff Around the Edges classes respectively. The trainers really know how to work with dogs and their humans and the methods used in the Growlies class allow me to walk my dog in peace. They use all positive reinforcement and I am much closer to my dogs than before. My dogs also love class.

I mentioned some puppy issues to my vet, who without any hesitation recommended I call Tails-A-Wagging. I have owned dogs for many years, and was a bit skeptical, but called them up. This was the first time I ever took on two puppies at once, and found out its a lot different than training one; there are a whole set of new challenges and issue! I have never regretted the decision to give Tails-a-Wagging a try, and have signed up my pups for more training classes. The owner is dedicated and intimately involved in the business. The staff are committed. Everyone is friendly and positive. My pups love it. And we are seeing results. Actually, we saw results after the first class! There are a lot of good businesses and I give them 4*s. I reserve 5*s for businesses that go above and beyond in customer service! Tails gets 5 stars. Off the clock I got answers to many questions via phone and email. Responses were fast and supportive. At one point a harness did not properly fit one of the pups and the owner loaned us one of theirs until the pup could grow into the other one. The owner also loaned us a copy of her personal book (an e-version is free online but I was looking for a print copy). I have also used their day care. My pups really, really like it; and, I also noticed improved behavior and responses after they attend! You know your dog loves a place when you take them out of your car and they are pulling hard on the leash and walking standing up on their hind legs in their enthusiasm to get in. I highly recommend Tails-a-Wagging.

We were told by whatcom humane we needed to take our rescue dog to tails a wagging to be trained. We adopted him knowing full well he was deaf so of course he needed training. We were advised by WHS that someone at the facility was trained with deaf animals. To be signed up for a 6 week class with an instructer that didn’t even know our dog was deaf/ had no knowledge with deaf animals. We had to read links sent in an email to try and train our dog. Our money was well wasted and will not recommend this training facility to anyone with a special needs animal.

TAW is by far one of the absolute best places and experiences for your dog. Gizmo went to daycare for over a decade and it helped him so much. Daycare at TAW was one of his favorite things in the whole world. We just adopted a Chihuahua puppy and not only is puppy preschool free but they offer so many wonderful resources for ensuring your dog will be socialized and well trained. I trust Angi and her staff more than anyone else with my beloved pets. I can not thank Angi enough for all the support over the years and for introducing me to not one but two amazing dogs. Her continued community efforts and dedication are an inspiration. Thank you TAW!!

I cannot express how much I have loved Tails A Waggin! We have taken our puppy to puppy preschool a few times and I cannot believe how much my dog has improved! the first day our puppy was a little bit scared by the other dogs and Angie was wonderful she didnt push him, but she helped him interact with the other puppies by being so positive! The next time we showed up he JUMPED out of the car so excited to go inside! He had a blast! I also really enjoyed it because she lets the dogs be dogs together but also teaches the owners how to monitor for unsafe behavior and tells us how to interveine when we see it! She is so great about responding to emails or phone calls and they even loan you dog supplies so you dont have to keep buying new sizes of things as your puppy grows out of everything. I feel so safe and comfortable bringing my puppy here and I know that if i ever need daycare this is where I will bring him! I cannot express how wonderful this place is!

TAW is a one of the most unique doggy day care businesses I have ever seen. All dogs are treated with love, affection and attention all day while working on obedience and manners. I have a very energetic puppy who needs constant stimulation all day. Since she started at TAW, I have noticed a huge change in her behavior and manners. Everyone comments on how well she is behaved. I owe all of this to the caring staff and trainers at TAW. I know my sweet puppy is being loved all day long while learning. She has a great balance of intellectual and physical stimulation from positive reinforcement professionals all day. This makes me feel good - like I am doing the right thing for her. I would highly recommend TAW to anyone who doesnt want their hound to sit at home all day.

We have been taking our mini australian shepherd, Gypsy, to Tails-a-Wagging for a little over two months. She was extremely shy and pretty fearful of other dogs when she first started puppy kindergarten but with the help of Angi, Chelsea, Michael, and Lizzie (to name a few -there are many more helping when shes at daycare whom I have not personally met!) our little fluffnstuff has come out of her shell! Gypsy just graduated from puppy kindergarten and is enrolled in puppy prep -which we are getting very excited for. She also goes to daycare one day a week and has attended several doggy socials.I think one of the most important reasons why you should train your puppy (or dog) with TAW as opposed to just at home is that you and your puppy will learn to respond to each other in an environment where there are other dogs and people serving as distractions, all while being safe with trainers and other responsible dog owners. Its definitely a secure environment that mimics the real world more so than your backyard or living room. Also, addressing the waitlist: It is totally worth the wait. Prior to Gypsys first visit to daycare, I just periodically checked the TAW Facebook page and when they posted there was an opening I called and got her in. Now she can go whenever -Angi is great about getting us in. And the staff have never treated my husband, dog, or I with anything but the upmost respect.PS I love the webcams. Its nice being able to check on your pup from the office and see that s/he is being treated well and having fun with her/his classmates!
