I have had the opportunity to volunteer in one of the elementary schools and also at the 5th Grade track meet. This organization truly is a blessing for the District.I just attended my 2nd Hungry Minds Lunch and listened to the unique programs and out of the box thinking the Superintendent, his board and phenomenal administrators in every school want to accomplish for the kids in our community.This bold thinking is made possible because of the generosity provided by all those that make this Foundation a priority.We heard a great story from one of the donors who owns a business and makes an unlimited gift every year to the Foundation. It was inspiring to see so many supporters fill the room.Kim Lund & Kathy Dooley did a great job last year and now have Elizabeth Boyle on the team as they are doing so much for our kids.They help every child in our district with Dr Greg Baker’s cutting edge Promise K program, now a state initiative because Bellingham pushed for approval here. We heard about the spontaneous emergency food program that took place for families in need during the snow closures just last month.These are things only made possible because the Foundation has grass roots support.Local Allstate agencies here are excited to be a partner with Helping Hands Grants from Allstate and time volunteered.Our community is better because this Foundation is here to serve.
