Totally unprofessional. francis is the office manager. francis shared that she could not find my appointment although i scheduled the appointment about 2 weeks ago. she thought i might have had an appointment at another location instead. i shared that im pretty sure i scheduled for this location. she asked if KP had my daughter assigned to the office. i said yes. she grab a list on a paper and verified my daughter is on the list. she proceeded to say my daughter can be seen. i thought it concerning but i proceeded because i had scheduled and expected my daughter to be seen. as i was filling out the forms, they asked if they can do the x-ray while i was filling out the form. i replied no, thinking it odd to make such a request. another lady started to do the x-ray. i witnessed there were no other patients and not much activity. i asked the lady doing the x-ray if she is the dentist. she replied yes and no other detail; as a matter of fact she never introduced herself. i asked her for her name. she said janet. that was all. i continued my probing. i asked for a last name and she said valdez. as a dentist, i thought it would be appropriate for her to share some pride about herself and perform good bedside manners; none of this happened. she finished her x-rays for my daughters teeth. she did not review any of the pictures and proceeded to escort my daughter to a different chair. i finally had to ask about the x-rays. janet put them up on the screen and shared the findings on the upper teeth. she discovered 2 cavities on the pictures. i asked for the assessment on the bottom teeth. janet said these werent taken because my daughter was complaining of pain; i thought this highly odd because my daughter did not say it was painful during the x-ray. janet shared that we can do a sight examination. janet proceed to tap the bottom teeth and never really did much. she saw an additional cavity on the upper teeth although she did not point this out in the x-ray. i asked janet on steps to take care of the cavities. she said that they will schedule my daughter to see a specialist instead. i was fine by this and then asked what todays work would be. janet said it would be for cleaning and polishing. mind you, janet has been doing all the work by herself with no assistant; there is no close identification of the teeth or filling of charts/diagrams. janet proceed to open a brush head and i asked what this was for. she said it is for cleaning although clearly it was to polish the teeth. she spent about 1 minute max really on the front part of the teeth. that was it. at the end, i confronted her whether she was a dentist. she admitted she is not a dentist. she said she is an assistant to the dentist. i was truly upset. she lied in the beginning and now she is saying i misheard. i let her know that the procedures and experience feels not right. i raised my voice loud enough that francis came over to listen. i let her know that janet is not a dentist and had shared she was. there is nothing really done for my daughter for this appointment. i asked where the dentist was and francis said the dentist had an emergency this evening; i let her know it is only 4pm and she said it was an emergency this afternoon. clearly clearly their facade has been broken. i asked for documents and my daughters chart. they gave me something saying they did a prophy no x-ray and no dr.s exam...i was upset but never screamed. francis had the gall to want to schedule me for another visit and had the gaul to say maybe i can decide when i am calmer. truly truly concerning for this operation. i have submitted a grievance with the insurance companies.
