From the beginning at the front desk, the whole experience was very pleasant. Staff were all nice and friendly. Very respectful. Doctor was personable and explained well enough for me to feel good about the medical decisions. The nursing staff and medical staff all had good medical knowledge to obtain appropriate history and to answer questions.I felt better when I left the facility.

I ended up here several years ago. The outcome was pretty pathetic.I had a major wreck, but the late night ER doc was either uncaring or incompetent. At the end, i have perminent scaring due to his lack of care. The best is i had my tear duct ripped open. The er doc called the eye doc, but i guess he didnt bother to sell the case. So Overlake and the ER doc sent me to a local private practitioner, since the overlake eye doc couldnt bother to show upThe local private doc was amazing, but told me i had only a few hour to get my problem fixed and the er should have called in their specialist. I still have perminent scaring.Overlake is the least trustworty ER i can imagine. I wasnt even there on an overwhelmed night. They just didbt bother to show up.Never go to overlake!!!

I would give it zero stars if there is such a choice. The front desk was very rude. My son broke his arm, so we went there. We waited for at least 30 minutes to see a nurse after checking in. When I asked the front desk how long we are expected to wait, the woman was very impatient. Later my son was settled down in a room, and I went to the car to get something. When I came back, the front desk said I was not allowed to enter anymore because my husband had been with my son. We stayed there for 5 hours. Every time the doctor came to speak a few words then disappeared. The whole night we were looking for the nurse and doctor. Finally, the operation failed, and we were asked to transfer to another hospital. I was wondering how such a hospital could still exist.

Read a lot of reviews and I think the ones about billing point out that our health care system in this country is broken, not Overlakes fault. That said I went here for a head wound last week and found them to be great. It was a lot of blood and kind of scary, but the person who did triage had a great sense of humor and that put me at ease. The staff was kind and seemed to know what they were doing. One hour and ten staples later I was on my way home.I was probably lucky with timing, but also recognize you cant staff an ER for every possibility.

Very professional. Excellent service and great explanation about everything. It is always sad and difficult to be in an emergency room environment however during my visit, I was treated respectfully and was well-cared-for.I understand that some situations take priority and that is the sad nature of emergency and triage for some, but for those experiencing those escalated situations, I know they are grateful- I’m one of them.Thank you Overlake Emergency Room Doctors, nurses, techs and all staff. You have a hard job to be sure and you handle it with grace.

Steer clear of the emergency room at Overlake. If I could give zero stars on this review, I would. Front desk had me sign consent forms to bill insurance when I could barely hold head up. I was in a confused and lethargic state. Triage nurse was dismissive, rude and short. No monitors put on me, BP taken at triage very high but never taken again during 3 hour stay. I could give further detail on the lack of care and inaccurate medical notes, but I don’t have that much room. Will NEVER go here again of my own free will.

Front desk person named Christie (not sure if its spelled correctly) was extremely rude and dismissive. I even tried to sympathize with her and kindly told her I understand she is busy and she said shes not busy since shes talking to me. Awful awful person and I hope she figures out whatever is going on in her life that is making her this hostile and rude for no reason.

I just can’t get over the fact that the front desk asks my dad, an old man with broken bones and bleeding all over the place, to wait in line and get check in. Especially after I asked if I can provide information and check him in before he arrives. This is just ridiculous!

With this review I want to thank Dr. Fisk and Overlake ER for a phenomenal care I received.I just got discharged from Overlake ER where I spent couple hours to make sure I was not having a blood clot in my calf.Zero wait time to be admitted, Dr. Fosk came in immediately and after that she and her team took wonderful care of me. Dr.Fisk checked in with me regularly to make sure I was doing well while waiting for my blood work, updated on the wait time, was very kind and attentive.Thank you, Dr. Fisk.

My wife had fallen and was in extreme pain. Ended up just bruising her bottom side. However I called Overlake ER as I have had two major surgeries at Overlake and had one prior visit to their ER that was exceptional. Not this time . I was told there was a 8 minute wait. That part was true getting in.Then the Cat scan and pain meds 1rst hour. Then nothing . No body came by for hours. When I asked and eventually complained still nothingAfter anotther 3 and 1/2 hours I heard a nurse outside my door say that the room 2 doors from us had a Covid positive patient. While voicing my concern I was told we were safe. That didnt add up when we had observed one of the nurses running around with no mask or gloves. I had already an hour before remove the blood pressure cup and removed the O2 monitor. Nobody had responded to the alarms beeping from that I then to my concern of the Covid patient told them I was leaving and would have my wifes doctor remove the pic line . They then finally within 5 minutes and it only tool 5 minutes to discharge us.I truely felt they put us at risk and their service / care was terrible . Dont know what happened to this ER but see why they have only two star review. Never again will we let ourselves be abused by Overlake Hospital . Beware they dont care.

Dr Tudor and team took great care. We were getting constant updates, and all questions and concerns were addressed efficiently. The reason I posted this review is because people usually post only negative experiences in reviews, specially for ERs. When I looked up their ER, I was highly skeptical but everything was great.

The social workers at Overlake are the worst I have ever come into contact with. Absolutely NO communication with family members, and they lie to the patient and the patient’s caregivers (including therapists). This is my second go-around with them and all I can say is that, if you care about your family members and need to know what’s going on with them, avoid Overlake at all costs!

I wish I could give 0 starts. Its a TRAP for unexpected patience. Hospital IS in the network for most of the insurances but the Doctors at the ER ARE NOT in the network. Good luck if you are unconscious or need urgent surgery to look up a doctor who is in your insurance network and hope he/she will show up in a next few days.

I was sent to Overlake emergency from my neurologist because I was having a lot of pain that the doctor couldnt figure out why. First thing they did was gave me lots of paperwork for me to sign. I told her Im in such pain that I cant read it before I signed it. I understand the policy, but there was no compassion at all. Cant see you if you dont sign it. was all she said. Then they want to take a couple of MRIs Which I Just did a month ago and its all in the chart that was transferred from my neurologist. So they said that I need a brain MRI. I told them no dye. They administered it to my i v so quickly that I didnt have a chance to refuse it.And then there is the big bill from treating Physicians that are not in my network Even though Overlake Hospital is in my network. Will not recommend Overlake hospital EM.

BE WARNED....My insurance lists Overlake Hospital as In Network provider. I had to have an emergency surgery. They billed my insurance $30k. Fine.I then get another large bill from an out of network doctor from Kaiser Permanente. So, while theyre rushing you off into the surgery room you need to pause, call your insurance company, Or make sure you have time during your emergency to wait for an In network surgeon to show up.

I am pregnant and went to the emergency room. I had very very light symptoms not even quite noticeable but went there just want to be sure nothing happened. But the doctor there pushed me so hard when she was doing a routine test causing me to bleed very hard. I almost had a miss carriage. The test results came back nothing wrong with my pregnancy. But I am still in the danger of having a miss carriage because of the bleeding caused by the carelessness of the doctor. I will never go there in future. The doctor’s name is Neidurs. If you are pregnant, be aware and stay away from her!

Had a very weird experience here. Urgent care sent me because they said I needed the ER. When I arrived everyone even the police officer in the parking garage seemed really stressed. The nurse gave me a gown to change into.. and as I was changing the doctor burst in without knocking. I was shocked and tried to cover myself up. He said sorry and left.I wasn’t bothered by that at first but When I got talking to the doctor he didn’t believe my symptoms of seeing black spots and feeling faint. Just was prescribed some Benzos and told to rest. Seemed since I was younger and gender I wasn’t taken seriously. A blood or liver test would have been helpful. Had to go elsewhere to get results

I went in on July 19. They are beyond Inefficient at managing their patients despite adequate staff. Attending Physician was quick to make assumptions, lacked empathy with the weariness /bitterness of someone in an inner city ER (this is posh Bellevue, dude). Nurse assigned was unsure, inexperienced and all over the place. She spent most of her time on her PC, could not get an IV and let me lay there for two hours in pain. Only saving grace was an amazing On Call surgeon (Dr. Leary) who took charge. He took the time to speak to me about my health history, performed the procedure perfectly (did not leave it to the attending physician) as well as recommended a proper follow up. Rare doctor in the field of medicine these days.

This place is a joke, at a ER the doctor takes a hour to see you and then does not give you full prescription correctly so the pharmacy makes you go up and down and makes you wait for a hour and to top it all off you get a parking fine for parking in the emergency entrance while you go in to drop off the patient and over all attitude of the staff is not even worth mentioning.. stay as far away fromHere as possible

Extremely inefficient, even during slower times. Communication is bad enough between members of the care team - forget communication between providers and patients. Ive been through this ER often enough to recognize that call lights are almost never given to patients, which I find to be extremely unacceptable, especially when working with critically ill people. This is only 1 floor of the 5 Ive stayed on at this hospital, and whenever Ive left, Ive always had to end up going somewhere else to actually get treatment - UW, Northwest, Swedish ... theres no shortage of choices. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt, as I am a medical professional myself and know things can get hairy. Regardless of my personal background, the way I was treated here was beyond unacceptable to me. It took excessively long to have anything done to try to assess my pain, and despite requesting copies of the lab reports as they came in, I wasnt allowed to see any of them. I work in a laboratory - I dont know why letting me see my own labs would have been prohibited.I was ultimately discharged after 2 days with no diagnosis, no treatment plan, no new referrals, and no follow-up directions. I was given a cane to walk with that I was never trained how to use, and frankly I dont see how a cane is appropriate for midback/shoulder pain.tl;dr : If you dont have an obviously diagnosable condition like a broken bone or an asthma attack or a stroke, go somewhere else, because you wont find the help you need here, unless youre graced to end up working with RN Erin or Dr. Bronstein.

I went to Overlake Hospital ED for about ~4 hours for food poisoning. I received IV fluids and some meds then got discharged from ED. The hospital issued two bills. The First one was ~$4800 which insurance paid $3500 for, and the 2nd bill for the ED physician with $664 which insurance paid $199, and now I got mailed for the rest of the second bill with $464.I find the amount of dollars solicited from the insurance is absurd and outrageous to begin with, but even worse they would bill me after them. This is ridiculous.

Definitely one of the worst experiences. I have never been a patient in an emergency room. I showed up they didnt even have me in their database, I have been a patient at the hospital (other depts) for about a year now. So the receptionist began to enter my information while I was in pain. I told them about my condition, and they just took the blood and urine test, lied there for like an hour. They didnt bother coming back with results until they said they will move me to the hallway. The staff had a condescending and rude tone. They didnt ask if I still have the pain until I told them that I still have the pain. IV was not completed. I felt a severe shame and guilt for being there as the staff kept staring at me but not attendingand all the diagnosis was what I told them personally. Anyways I just wanted to go home but the needle was still in my arm. Anyways, another way of showing that healthcare in the US is one of the worst systems and overlake hospital has the worst customer service and I still have the pain.

I was visiting the Seattle area and had a severe asthma attack that was not responding to many doses of my emergency inhaler. The next afternoon I checked into this walk-in clinic and was examined by Dr J Phifer. She found no signs of wheezing when listening to my lungs. She DID NOT measure how much oxygen I was taking in; a simple routine test. I explained that the wheezing subsided because of the large amounts of Ventolin I had administered while waiting to be examined. I have been asthmatic for 30 years and know what the best treatment is when I am in this much distress. I have ALWAYS been put on Prednisone. Dr Phifer refused. She prescribed an allergy medication. While Dr Phifer was still in the exam room, I had a massive episode which left me gasping for air. She had to fish out my inhaler from my handbag. I asked her if she was aware that I could not breathe.. her response of “yes” was stone cold. What was equally upsetting about my interactions with Dr Phifer was her condescending, stern, unsympathetic attitude. Both she and the woman that first took my vitals earlier were both unpleasant, unconcerned, curt and in my opinion, unprofessional. The whole experience was demeaning and unsatisfactory. I will never step foot in their facility again.

My Fiance went in to the ER for crippling back pain last weekend which has turned out to be a herniated disk (as we later found out with a different facility). They didnt take any images or really test him for anything. They gave him 2 muscle relaxers and 1 pain killer and had him take all 3. Another doctor came in to follow up and told him that he should not have taken all 3 together. Which added to the stress of the situation. All they did was drug him up and sent him on his way. I am extremely displeased with them to say the least. So dismissive and did not try to get to the bottom of what was happening. I would not suggest this place to anyone for anything.
