This place is top notch. They have a private room for a meet and greet. The shelter staff are friendly and courteous. I highly recommend this shelter for adopting your furry friend.

We had a great experience with this facility. 7/9/2020 Made an appointment, visited with our beloved “Cash” (short haired tabby) at the time. We played with the kitten, got aquatinted, paid and left.They provided at least a month of food for him, along with medication, and they even let us use one of their carriages to take him home.Btw, we expected and was prepared to pay the adoption fee which I believe was $100, we got our “Pickles” for $60. He is above a healthy, very playful and happy cat. 6/7/2021I am looking for him a sister and definitely will be coming back. See ya soon!!

Adopted a sweet kitty Thursday. A great place with great staff, very friendly. A no-kill shelter to boot!

I felt I was racially profiled. I revisited the same put bull because they made it known that this particular dog had been abused and she was very aggressive. My plan was to visit with her a few times to give her time to calm down and make she was comfortable with me. During one of my visits she was taken from me in the first 2 minutes of the visit because someone else wanted to see her. The next visit which was my third one. I completed an application. On my fourth visit my hope was to finalize adoption. I was told another family adopted her. However after checking back a couple times she was still there waiting for a forever home. Noone made an effort to contact me or anything.... Her photo was still in the adoption book . I cant imagine why I was overlooked for this particular dog after constant show of interest and conversation with the trainers who worked with her. Funny things is to this day that dog is still there waiting to be loved. I will never feel comfortable even visiting that place again.

Very rude personnel. They act like (he ) you are an infectious human carrier of a disease. They crack the door to talk through and dont seem to care if you want to save a dog or not!

I love this place and they love pets. They go so far above and beyond.. dont hesitate, even if its just a question, call and youll get an answer at the least, but usually help no matter the situation. These people care so much!

This is a wonderful place to pick up kittens, cats and dogs in need of loving homes. The staff and volunteers work diligently to ensure all the babies are well taken care of with food/water, cages cleaned daily, all animals getting personal playtime and dogs getting walked. The biggest thing that made me happy was all the animals getting pet and loved by human touch which is extremely crucial to these fur babies. We need them and they need us. Please open your heart and adopt a shelter pet. Animals are extremely therapeutic and will love you unconditionally for life.

No one would even open up they just stared at me. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! probably the worst I’ve ever seen. You would think the staff would be more welcoming especially since they need people to adopt. Do not recommend coming here. Was a long drive from where I reside and it was disappointing to arrive and have to staff not answer the phone nor let you in just stare at you.

My friends 4 year old was mauled by a dog BAHS found suitable for adoption at an adoption event this weekend. The dogs handler told me minutes before that he had been training the dog for two months, and it was good with kids. Skin punctured in multiple places. Teeth on head. Scary as Hell and lucky it wasnt a lot worse. Found out today that the dog was not up to date on rabies vaccinations. These people dont know what theyre doing, and its dangerous.

Everyone there cares so much for the animals. They were so helpful the day we picked out our dog. They were even helpful 2 weeks later when we went back to see them about tips about how to get our dogs to be better together and not play fight

I have a neighbor in an apartment complex in Shiloh that adopted a dog from this humane society. We heard him talking to some buddies about it over a year ago. The guy leaves the dog for hours and hours. Days on end, with some guy who stops in to walk it a few times a day for a few minutes and then sticks it back inside alone. The dog is all alone and has been for as far as my wife and I see, for most of its poor life. Its walked for a couple of minutes and then stuck back inside. I reported this to the Belleville Humane Society awhile back and they told me to call animal control. The animal control guy said treating a dog like that was flat wrong and should be handled by the Belleville Humane Society. They did nothing and we can see and know this poor dog is alone most of the time in a little apartment. Im talking 10 to 12 hours plus a day. Im going to give Belleville Humane Society another call today as it is really upsetting my wife to see this abuse going on and if they do nothing Im reporting it and this humane society to the Humane Society of American or the SPCA. We have looked in the window of the apartment and the dog is there with crap on the floor. I guess its expected to hold it until someone bothers to show up. Real nice. The dog cant even look out of the windows as they are too high for it. Can you imagine the life this dog is not having?

We were really impressed with the Belleville Humane Society. They were friendly, professional, very caring toward the animals and not one bit judgmental. We left a cat we had been fostering and she was placed in a very clean, safe environment with lots of activity around. What a blessing!

Recently visited them during their Slumber Pawty, an event to raise money and awareness for the animals that are available for adoption and that come through their establishment. Loving staff. I will be back to adopt a pet or two!

We have adopted several dogs and cats from here over the years. My son volunteered for several years so he had work experience when he applied for a paying job. It was a great experience. The staff are friendly and helpful and I never felt rushed or pressured to pick a dog or cat until we found the right one for our forever home.

This is a great place for petsI walked in and saw toys, dogfood stacked up, they were taking everything to the back. They have a play area so dogs can play with each other, they have a pool so the dogs can play in the water. After walking in, I think pet resort. This is such a nice place.

Please help the shelter out by donating your time, food, toys, blankets and of course they will gladly take money. Without shelters like this one dogs and cats would be put to sleep without the chance of finding a home. If your looking for a pet, these guys will take their time with you to pick the right one. The staff is super friendly so you can talk to anyone, including the volunteers! By the way, they keep this place super clean!

My dog had been missing for 6 years and got turned in here. Staff went through necessary steps to locate me and reunite us. They were very nice and friendly and easy to work with.

No kill humane society. They try to pull as many animals from Animal Control as possible. The volunteers care about the animals in and around their facility.

Ive been to a couple humane society and I have never seen one that looked and smelled clean. My boyfriend and I had adopted a kitten from them and weve never been happier. I have told all my family that if there looking to adopt a pet to go there.

After just moving to the Belleville area in May 2015, one of my cats needed to be put to sleep after a sudden illness. It was a difficult and traumatic decision to make. The vet suggested I contact the Humane Society. Everyone there was very patient and compassionate, from those that answered the phone to the tech who completed the procedure. The fee for the procedure was a $40 donation. That was the most inexpensive fee that I could find in the area. I cant say enough about my overall experience there. I highly recommend the Belleville Area Humane Society.

Fantastic organization, with an amazing staff and tons of pets in need of homes.

My girlfriend and I found a stray kitten all alone in a sewer pipe ditch on Sunday night. It makes sense this place would be closed on Sunday. So we kept her, named her Luna, and have been trying to feed, clean, and bathe her till we could get her to a shelter were shell be safe. Our first thought would be the humane society of Belleville. We came to find that theyre closed Sundays and Mondays with a terrible shedule of 11am to 5pm. We had even worse luck that they were completely closed because it was the 4th of July. I managed to speak to someone who worked there when they were walking outside and all they told me was to go to some animal hospital that was at least 40-50 mins away. We begged for them to take her in because she was sick and seriously needed medical attention. They said that we had to call back tomorrow and they would put her on a waiting list...Also, the said they dont deal with medical. This was absolutely absurd and asinine. The Humane Society of Bellville is a terrible example and excuse for a humane society ever.
