The review stating this practice is all about the Co-pay is entirely accurate. I saw Dr Mitchell for approximately 3 years and am Type I Diabetic for over 30 years. Dr Mitchell refuses to provide refills on prescriptions so you MUST come back to the office for another visit. During COVID, I needed a refill for insulin and had no acute issues and he and his nurse demanded I come to the office in order to get insulin which I have been using for 30+ years. He claimed this was because he needed to adjust my dosing, which he had NEVER done (nor does he know anything about Type I diabetic care, for the record). He also claimed I would probably be fine because he hasnt seen a COVID case in a while (thanks for that reassurance!). I said if it is so important that he sees me, then we could do a tele-visit due to COVID. Hes response was he does those but MY insurance wouldnt cover it so he refused. I said if he is going to hold my prescription hostage over a co-pay, perhaps I should find a new doctor and that particularly given the COVID situation, this was borderline unethical. Ultimately he gave me a SINGLE refill and made me schedule another appointment, which I cancelled for personal reasons. A week or so later, I received a letter stating I should find a new doctor. Real stand up guy...he will next reply to this and claim claim something about my health and needing to see me (which would be a HIPAA violation) and that he had to see me for that reason, when my condition only slowly got worse as his patient, and as stated above he NEVER did anything about it until I refused to come in, then it became an issue.You also cant understand him when he speaks as he talks very fast, he spends about 50 seconds with you at each visit, and does everything he can (eg labs) in his practice so he can bill you for that too.He also uses student nurses (eg FREE HELP) to the maximum extent possible. I dont think I have ever been to his office and NOT had a student nurse, which they sometimes ask if you are OK with on the spot, sometimes you dont get a choice - which again supports the assertion this practice is about one thing....minimizing their time/cost for you, getting you in and billing you, and moving thru as many patients as possible. All about money here.TL:DR - Look elsewhere if you want a real doctor. If you like going in to the office and having your insurance billed for nothing, this is your guy!UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO DAVID MITCHELLS REPLY: Prior to the last appointment, I had never once spoken with Dr Mitchell on the phone. Nor was I rude to his staff though he likes to play that card in responding to reviews on Google to justify his poor practice. His answering machine specifically stated his office was doing tele-visits due to COVID. This was the 6 month appointment so his points about not being there in 6 mo are somewhat misleading (Feb 2020 was last appt for which I paid a copay, this appt was July 2020). The statement that I not care about my health is baseless and a personal attack on me. The truth is quite the opposite in fact, in that I did not want to go to the office due to COVID when there was no acute health issues and Dr Mitchell *insisted* I come to the office and would probably be fine (direct quote). Lastly, note Dr Mitchell refers to free care which is the point in my original review - he is all about collecting money from patients. Thanks for proving my case!Anyone considering this doctor should visit his website and see how outdated (and strange in my opinion) it is, or set foot in his waiting room and see how sketchy this operation is. Inside you will literally find a floor mat taped over the reception counter, surge protectors plugged into other surge protectors (hey OSHA!), and Macintosh computers from the 90s (G3 Macintosh computers discontinued in 1999 - think your personal health information is secure on those?).

Dr. David Mitchell is a caring doctor who spends time with each patient. He sees you in the hospital, even on weekends and holidays. Dr. Dave gets you in the same day and values your input. He is very knowledgeable about medications and gladly takes time to review medication choices without overprescribing. I switched my entire family to the country doctor. He is the best!

Doc is great. Hes VERY prompt on his appointments, which I absolutely appreciate. He speaks a little quick, so it takes a bit to get used to what he says at auctioneer speed. Nice guy, never had an issue. Recommend him to others.

Only wants money. Could care less about his patients. Definitely would not reccomend.

Dr. Mitchell is a super guy and doctor. He is compassionate and can think quickly on his feet. I am fortunate to have such a quality physician on my team and so close to home! I will be forever grateful for his superior level of care. Thank you Country Doctor and your support staff.

I am very impressed with Dr. Mitchell he is excellent he treats you with kindness and respect and is amazing at his job I will never go to another Dr. after finding this gem of a man I highly recommend thank you for everything Dr. Mitchell I am blessed to have you as my Dr.

Dr. Mitchell is great! I use him as my personal physician but I also refer my patients to him for the medical side of care. He is always able to get the patient in and when I follow up with our patient, they report that theyre happy and it appears that they received excellent standard of care. Im happy to continue treating with Dr. Mitchell for my own check-ups and also to send him referrals in the future.

I have always been able to get a same day appointment if really needed.

Wonderful doctor. He is always able to get you in for an appointment in a reasonable amount of time and really listens to you and your concerns.

Dr. Mitchell goes above and beyond to care for his patients. I have referred multiple friends/family members to him and they have all had nothing but great things to say. He makes time for his patients and almost always has same day (sometimes next day) appointments.

Always listens and has time for whatever you need. Rare in todays assembly-line medicine. He should be commended.

Fantastic, knowledgeable physician who has a terrific bed side manner! Has hours to meet patients needs!
