This place and the ft.worth location are a joke. My mother in law just got home from Bedford and was there to work on balance and walking . The only improvement on her chart is oral hygiene and rolling side to side nothing on what she was there for. They sent her home without her meds she took with her and is now without them till we can go get them. She came home and fell into our bushes. But she was ready to come home right? Plz use another rehab facility bc this place isnt giving them the proper care they need.

Terrible care, and service. Therapists did only what was required. Doctors did very little, and were always “busy”. Food was terrible. They try to rush you through and get you out of the facility as soon as possible.I tried to appeal my release as I wasn’t improving, all they could say is how much money I would owe them if my appeal didn’t come out positive for me, an no one could agree an how the appeal process works. You’re lucky if you get a shower every two days. And at one point one of my therapist wanted to caution me on the use of my knee, since it had been replaced. My hip had been replaced, not my knee, which tells me she didn’t read why I was there.

My husband has been here a week now and I can say this place is the greatest. Everyone here from nurses, doctors therapists, and the case manager have been the best!!!My husband is in really bad condition, hes had 2 massive strokes in 2 months. Anytime he has needed anything from pain meds to helping him with anything they are always there and do it with such compassion!I was afraid when we first got here not knowing what to expect. And they have helped me in every way to understand and prepare me for what8next.I would highly recommend this place to everyone. I feel safe when I have to leave him and that makes it easier for me going thru this.So thank you all for what you doThank you Mr.and Mrs.Pope

Stayed for a bit over a month, 2017-2018. While the rehab was great for after my back to back spinal surgeries, I felt so out of place. There were maybe 3-4 of us who were minimal rehab patients. However, we were all placed together in groups of the majority of permanent to long term patients and the activities for us were non necessary. For instance, we knew the alphabet, numbers, etc. What we needed was physical rehab only, but got thrown into all three. The staff . . . oh, my. I have so many complaints, I can not write them all on this review. Main complaint about Staff . . . part timers and night timers did not care much for their job, yet alone for their patients. I was ordered to go to sleep at 8pm. Im in my late 40s. Really? It was a battle for them to understand I would tell them when I was tired. Medication(s) dosages were a BIG complaint for everyone. Had to have my surgeon and pain Dr. argue with the whole staff to give me correct dosage. But, they prescribed what they thought was correct. Not what my Dr.s ordered.Billing . . . they billed both my Private Insurance AND my Medicare Part A. Then they tried to rebill me for visits with dates after my release date. No one every got back to me when I continued to leave messages. When I asked for all of my documents to be mailed to me . . . never received. Next time I am in town, I will have them release ALL to me. I believe ownership transpired shortly after I left. This could be why the staff was so horrible. I dont know. Maybe to sell, they needed to have more income(?).This was a great experience for the fact that I now know that I NEVER want to be back in any Facility EVER again. I received much better Home Health Rehab care for my continued at home rehab. Those nurses were GREAT! I can say I had two good day Nurses at this facility, but when I needed to complain, I had to go through management and it was a horrible task. For any family members of anyone who may be in this facility or any other rehab facility, I highly recommend you visit often and at different hours to make sure staff are doing their jobs correctly. Also, check with management and check your Insurance billings; amounts, dates, service, etc. Best to keep a log. As a patient, I kept a log of everyones name and any issues I had. Manager wasnt pleasant towards me either, perhaps because I was having to constantly correct them all.I was blessed my family were close by and did check on me and did help me as much as possible.I did have a great Physical Day Therapist who did help me improve enough to go home.

Some of the nurses here are very good and some are extremely bad. Arlene, the nurse supervisor, is rude and abrupt and does not communicate well with families. Marsha, the caseworker, extremely rude and says things that she should not say to family members and loved ones that seem to be going downhill. My dad was in this facility twice. They didn’t seem to notice for several hours that he had pulled his catheter out of his chest so he could do dialysis. This facility needs to understand that communication with the family is extremely important! There were way too many times that I would call the nurses station only to have no one answer the phone. That is unacceptable! Attitudes really need to be checked in this facility!

I have to admit the first night was beyond rough. Instructions given were not shared and it wasn’t what I expected. The next day I spoke to the house manager and quality control person and everything just turned around. The therapists have been great, the nurses and aides exceptional. Thank you Chantal, Gloria, Isaac and so many more. The list goes on of the beautiful people here. Thank you all for getting my dad on his feet again!!!

My grandmother, Romaine Payne, was at Encompass for a week suffering with dementia and Parkinson’s. I was able to visit her everyday and constantly requested Dr. Kane to call but there was never any communication received. After removing my grandmother from the facility due to this he called and blamed the nursing staff for not communicating our need to speak to the physician. My belief is that if you have a patient that can’t communicate, you look at the chart and contact the family as it was indicated. He’s clearly taken this job at Encompass as a 2nd job but that should not make a patient a 2nd priority

This was the best rehab i have ever seen. There are a great nationality difference of people work here but they all are very professional. The doctors checked on me everyday, i had pt, ot, and st everyday. They workers whom i cant say their name because of hippa were the best and had the most positive attitude everyday, even though they had their own problems at home. When u come here and if u come here please treat these wonderful people with respect because they deserve every bit of it. Thank u encompass for teaching me everything i needed to know when i got home and for the equipment. A very good place they should have 5 stars! Oh and the food is good also.

My grandfather was placed in the care of this facility after a hospital stay. Not only does the staff not care about the patients and whats best for them, but the administration is the exact same way. Despite family attendance, phone calls, questions, and concerns they STILL do not give the patients the care they are paying for. If it wasnt for a family decision to move my grandfather back to the hospital due to a VERY CLEAR decline in his condition, who knows what might have happened. The staff is rude!!! The nurses are only concerned with how many patients they might have to see. They come in the room complaining about the care of the others in the facility as well. The doctors that are employed here and VERY condescending and will speak to you as if you are a child no matter your age. I am appalled by the way these employees act.It appears that the only thing this place cares about is what Medicare will pay for, and they make sure to meet the BARE MINIMUM to make sure they get every one of those dollars available.PLEASE STAY AWAY!!! As a family we thought this facility would have been a good fit for his needs based on the information provided to us, but clearly that information was NOT correct. Im not one to write a bad review, but this facility doesnt even deserve the 1 star given.

No. Dont go. My mother has dementia and they gave her no, no, no, memory care. No one let the next shift know of my mothers condition. My mother is not incontinent, but they put her in a pull-up because they couldnt be bothered with taking her to the restroom. On their watch, my mother received a broken wrist. They hired a transportation company to take her to doctor appointments with no communication regarding my mothers dementia or physical condition (broken hip and broken wrist). The transportation company was just that. They delivered her but quickly left her unaccompanied. She was confused and worried a great deal. She asked me often to take her out of there. Six different times while in her room I accidentally set off her bed alarm. No one came running. Even after I spoke to several staff about my concerns. It may be fine for those without dementia, but I would never recommend this facility to anyone. The ran rampant with abundant cruelty and apathy towards my sweet, petite, and kind mother. She was afraid of them and they often argued with her. Dont use this place for your loved ones.

My Mom has been a patient here for the last 10 days. It has been absolutely wonderful. I was very apprehensive about sending her to a inpatient rehab, but it has been the best thing for her. The OT and PT therapist have been fantastic as well as the nurses and techs. They have been very kind and responsive to all of her needs. She has been treated with dignity and respect, which was what I feared most! The only thing I would say could improve would be the quality of the food, but hey, if that’s my biggest complaint I would say they are doing a fantastic job!!

I HAVE NOT MET ANYONE HERE ON THE STAFF THAT WAS NOT EASY TO GET ALONG WITH!THERAPTS ARE EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEBLE OF THEIR PROFESSION AND WHILE ASKING THE BEST OF YOU THAT YOU CAN DO, ARE VERY SYMPATHETIC, PATIENT AND DO NOT PUSH ONE TO DO BEYIND THEIR CAPABILITY!ALL IN ALL WONDERFUL PLACE TO BE, IF NECESSARY.HAVE MOMENTARILY MISPLACED MY GLASSES, SO PLEASE EXCUSE ANY TYPOS....ADDITIONALLY, THE FOOD IS SO GOOD AND PLENTIFUL. Physicians were great.Physical Therapy was wonderful and achieved EXACTLY what she was there for! Also, we thought they were very well staffed with no shortage of personnel.Only two short comings - the food is not the greatest, but its hospital food, after all.The TV is limited - which is a pain but I understand they are putting in cable right now.My mom is 90 and can be a cranky, tough customer - she says she would definitely go there again!Cant beat that recommendation!

A friend of mine was taken there after back surgery. He was admitted on a Friday afternoon and even by Sunday most of the staff had no idea why he was there. One nurse while not paying attention let him fall back on to the bed landing on the remote control and his back insision. When he had to use call button requesting assistance to get out of bed to go to restroom, more than once it took anywhere from 15 minutes up to 35 minutes. I would not reccomend this facility to my worst enemy.

I was laid up in a hospital bed, and felt like crud! Did they treat me medically well, ABSOLUTELY! Did they help me get back home and able to get better yes. So 5 stars for what is important.

Currently on my last day at this facility. There was little to no communication between the staff, took them 3 days to do most of my medication correctly. I have a torn muscle and a severely inflamed joint from a fall, which requires rest and ice, but they still bully into doing PT/OT. No one knew why I was hospitalized in the first place, muscle enzymes flooding my system caused kidney failure. This location hasnt kept track of my function at all and at this point in refusing any therapy in fear of the muscle being reinjured and causing more kidney issues. If a hospital wants to send you here, dont agree. The staff is rude, invasive, dont listen, and are all around bullies.

I spent 2 weeks in rehab at Encompass Bedford after a recent knee replacement. I was very nervous about going to a rehab because I could not find many positive reviews online. I personally asked friends for suggestions and Encompass came up repeatedly. I was very pleased with my treatment during my time there. The PT and OT departments were very professional and worked me hard to help me find success after surgery. The nurses and techs were kind and helpful and met my needs in a timely manner. I was kept informed about my progress, meds, etc. I participated in group exercise class each day which allowed me to meet other patients and connect outside of my own room. If I had to go back to rehab, I would choose Encompass again. Thanks to all who were part of my healing journey.

My 87 year old mother was there for 12 days. Ill try and be positive by saying she liked the food, and there were 2 nurses and 2 aides/techs there she felt were caring, compassionate and knew what they were doing. Ill also say her PT and OT was intensive enough to get her safely back home to her assisted living facility. But after that there is NOTHING good to say about Reliant. Our case manager, Marcia, was unprofessional, did not communicate and did not serve as the liason between patient and family and staff like she was supposed to. Actually at one point gave me incorrect information completely! The facility, while new and modern, was often dirty. I had to ask them to clean my mothers room and bathroom multiple times and it was already mid afternoon when I did that. In the common areas where they encourage you to visit, many times dirty meal trays were just left laying about even hours after a meal time. The lack of communication and the lack of consistency of care will keep us from ever returning there.

My mother was here for roughly 2 weeks. It seemed to be going well at first, everyone seemed nice and caring. In the first week her rehab doctor basically told her she shouldnt be a patient there because of her oxygen dependency. Although, I thought that was a little odd being they accepted her as a patient in the first place, I shook it off. Secondly, there was a mishap with her oxygen level being incorrect and one of the techs/cnas didnt have her on her oxygen while giving her a breathing treatment, which is a must being my mother is oxygen dependent 24/7. I talked with one of the nurses and pointed out that the levels that are mandatory for her are on the board in her room in case there was any further confusion.(More than once) Also, my mother suffers from incontinence and had developed a terrible rash and skin tears that I addressed with concern. (Which now I am told by the hospital that she has a yeast infection on top on everything else) Thirdly, there was a open wound on my mothers leg that apparently happened earlier that day when she was assisted going to the bathroom (she has thin skin) her pad used for incontinence was placed over it to stop the bleeding, it was not until I said something about it later that night while visiting that it was attended to correctly with a bandage. I was told the tech would be talked to since they did not tell a nurse and it could have caused an infection. As well as a laceration on her left arm that happened while I was visiting and was bascially blamed for. My mother has also had issues with swelling in her limbs in the past, due to congestive heart failure, but we have had it under control for some time now. She had some swelling in the first week and I said something about her past issues and that her cardiologist had placed her on water pills and potassium and suggested we start them again when she had noticeable weight gain or swelling. Her right arm was so swollen that it was leaking so they wrapped gauze around it and I was told it was a good thing being the fluid was not going to her lungs. It was not until the last couple of days she was there that they put on some hose on her to try to reduce the swelling in her legs and feet. Last but not least, 1 day before my mother was rushed to the hospital, I asked if my mother was placed on any other medication being she was not acting herself and would drift in and out of conciseness. The nurse replied no and then asked my mother if she knew where she was etc. My brother and myself are her emergency contacts and were not contacted that she was now at the hospital. (We called Healthsouth since my mother did not respond to either of our phone calls that morning and they told my brother that there was not a patient by that name at their facility, this is less than 24 hours) I will say Healthsouth did say someone notified me, when we called back again but I did not have a voicemail from them, I checked my phone thoroughly - though I did have one from the hospital she was sent to the following morning, thankfully.( On another note if they could not get in contact with me, why didnt they contact my brother who is her secondary) I am not 100% sure what exactly happened, but from what I was told by the hospital her oxygen levels were way too low and she was unresponsive. I am hoping there is no permanent damage. They are looking into the possibility of her system being overloaded with medication. My advice to whomever is reading this is to be careful, and when something doesnt feel right take your family member home or even a different facility. In all honesty, I am not sure I will ever trust another place to help my mother.

My opinion is not intended to undermine previous or future posts by anyone who personally experienced or who had a friend or loved one who posted a negative review. I am a former U. S. Marine and therefore extremely blunt, with that being said, I am sure my post in some capacity will not be received well, in as much as I can, I do apologize in advance!First, it doesnt matter if a review is directed towards an ice cream stand, a Multi-million dollar Corp or Rehabilitation Hospital, it is inevitable that someone at some point will have something negative to say. Because we live in a country where we have free speech, it most certainly is a persons right to express (I.e., verbally or in writing, etc.) their opinion..... positive or negative. This is mine!I have literally travelled the world, Ive seen things and places people could not possibly fathom, through hard work and perseverance, I have largely been successful in my life. Ive prided myself, that although I have family and friend support, I have been extremely successful without any help or support from anyone for 50 years. Ive done so, while standing on my own two feet.ON MY OWN TWO FEET.March 2005, while in Baghdad Iraq after a 2200 lb vehicular bomb had been detonated by the bad guys would forever change my life and I would soon find I could no longer stand on my own two feet without support.Although the bomb literally destroyed our compound, with no loss of life, there were minimal injuries sustained.Unbeknownst to me, the explosion would fracture 3 of my lower back vertebraes. I refused to allow the doctors at that time to fuse my vertebraes together afterwards of which the doctors informed that if I did not allow the fusion, it was probable that I would not walk after 10-years.March 2017 was 12-years since the blast and subsequently, I landed at the HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of the Mid-Cities in Bedford Texas after a full back fusion. To be where I had been, to have seen and be associated with the people and places I had throughout my life, & now not having the ability to walk, tie my own shoes has been absolutely the most devastating time of my life. From the time I woke up from my surgery until I was discharged from HealthSouth, I can attest the following:The Doctors, Physical Therapist, nursing staff were absolutely the best I had ever seen or been associated with throughout my lifetime. From my personal perspective, each of the aforementioned staff that provided support during my stay were SPOT on in their field. Each staff, were professional, caring, supportive and consistently showed empathy to myself and other patients present during my stay. I wholeheartedly believe that because of HealthSouths subject matter expertise that was provided to me, I will walk again and get back to the quality of life that I am accustomed to.The food was great with a wide selection to choose from, the facility was always clean, a wide range of modern therapy equipment available, private rooms available for each person, staff were at all times supportive and extremely professional. If in the unlikely event you have a loved one that has a medical condition that HealthSouths Doctors are qualified to provide support to, I strongly encourage you to consider HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of the Mid-Cities in Bedford Texas to provide the relevant care. The very best of the best medical subject matter expertise will be provided, without question.I would like to say thank you to each and every employee at HealthSouth (Mid-Cities) that provided support during my stay. You not only changed my life, but gave me a reason for a continued life that I thought could not ever could be achieved again. From the bottom of my heart and family.........THANK YOU.

This is a doctor-owned rehab (?) facility. I was a patient until checking out last night AMA. No coordination among staff, patient aides and nurses are rude. Dr. Willis will argue and browbeat patients into seeing things her way. Food is not good, and most staff members are contractors who do not even know the doctors names. Group therapy sessions are kumbaya without regard to individual patients physical limitations and are designed to meet minimum requirements to get their payments from Medicare/Medicaid/insurers. This is strictly a money-making facility with little to no regard for patients. Please do not place your loved ones here. Look for establishments which have good reviews on Google.
