I terminated my contract and still had 2 massages left on file. I was told I would be able to use them both no problem. The 1st appointment they had available was 6 WEEKS out so I took that and I put myself in the cancellation list) and also booked my final appointment at the same time. Days after my massage, I was randomly charged for the massage without notice or explanation. I have spoken to the manager numerous times as she conducts her “investigation” . My appointment was on 08-20- 21 and it is now 10-16-21 - that’s 2 months!!! No one ever gets back to me, I keep calling unable to reach anyone who can fix this and always told the manager is still working on it, which obviously at this point they are not going to refund me money they were not authorized to charge me for. Do not ever sign up for a membership with this place or believe anything they tell you. I was even willing to forfeit that last massage I had already paid for to be reimbursed for this one. So they basically made me pay 3x for one massage.

I dont recommend Hand and Stone as they are just out to charge people for services that they are unable to deliver on. If you complain about their business practice they will flag your account and make it every difficult to use any services that you have built up.Constantly have a revolving door of staff so you are not able to get consistent work by competent professionals. I was hoping that they would be willing to resolve my problems but they have stopped all communication with me at this point.

I would give zero stars were that an option. I have 8 months of payments I cant redeem, because you can never get anyone to answer the phone, and if you do theyre booked into eternity. Tried to book online and earliest date was Jan. 2, 2022 -- 10 months from now.

Very disappointed in the management they are never available to talk to you when you have a problem, when I did talk to someone (“manager” ) she was so rude. They kept charging me every month even when I had “frozen”my account. The Manager never said I’d get charged AGAIN if I would cancel my account. This is not a way to run a business, they should be ashamed. I will NEVER refer anyone because of the Management. The Employees I never had any problems, but MANAGEMENT at the Bedford should get some training on how to interact with their customers, because even when you go in person they are never available!!

The inside of the spa is nice and calming. The technician who did my facial appeared to be new at doing them. She kept her gloves on the entire time causing friction and annoying noise on my face making it impossible to relax.She told me I had some congestion around my nose. I asked her to remove it. She ignored me and proceeded to do my whole facial while my nose area had clogged pores. She never used the steamer to open my pores for the products to have better penetration.While my mask was on I could hear her flipping pages of something I assume trying to figure out what to do next.Their pricing is deceiving. It is $99.95 for the facial but it was an extra $20 to get my eyes and lips moisturized and then another $20 to get a serum added. $140 is quite expensive for products to be put on my face without my skin sufficiently prepared.I asked the front desk if she was new and wasnt comfortable using the steamer. He had no idea what a steamer was and said that must have been an upgrade. I asked him to look for me so I could ask for that upgrade if I decide to go back. He couldnt find anything that involved a steamer as an upgrade. So I asked him again if she was new to esthetics. He didnt answer me. I then asked him if there were other estheticians who had more experience and used the steamer for facials. He says everybody there has the same experience.Needless to say I will not be returning there for a facial again.

Wow! If I could give you guys a 10 star rating, I would! From the minute I walked through the door you would have thought they have known me forever, I felt so welcomed here! I had been going to one of their competitors for quite some time and although the services I had elsewhere were nice, the overall experience I had at this spa was well worth every penny! My massage with Frankie left me floating out door.This place is clean and the staff is professional! I signed up for a membership and booked my next appointment. See you all soon!

I have been a member of Hand and Stone since their opening five years ago. I have always enjoyed each massage and facial I have received here, the Massage Therapists and Estheticians are some of the best around.They are knowledgeable and understand the true meaning of 5 star service! I have had my fair share of services around the country and this spa has set themselves apart in so many positive ways, from the services to the customer service of the front end reception to management. They make you feel like family here! My experience here has been top notch and enjoy my monthly visits with them. Keep up the wonderful work you all are doing even through this difficult time.

Identifies as women-led? Great because this is the worst customer service I’ve ever had. Tried to get them to honor my pre-paid services which I didn’t use right away because of the GLOBAL PANDEMIC and they decided instead they would take that money for themselves, charge me for new services, and not even communicate that they were doing so. Ironically the MAN who works there was the only one who was friendly and tried to be helpful. The woman at the front desk and the woman at corporate (who I was told to call even though they had “no power over anything”) were both instantly catty, judgmental, and aggressively unhelpful. Thought I was going to get a massage and instead got extra stress and the revelation that I’ll never get anything out of the $200 I paid them. Normally companies have a bit of humanity especially now in the pandemic; this (ironically, since it’s about self care and wellness) is not one of them.EDIT: The manager who replied here publicly is the same manager who put a note on my account saying specifically to NOT honor any of the three pre-paid services I had, which had lapsed by less than 30 days due to covid and the salon itself being busy and needing to schedule far out. I didn’t find this out until I showed up in person for what I thought was my birthday gift to myself. Luckily Absolute Relief in Manchester has a discounted birthday rate and I just had a great massage there instead. I guess that $180 worth of pre-paid services will just be a “donation”.

After going over the reviews I feel a sigh of relief. I was scheduled for a phone interview, after several email exchanges we set a time for 1:30. As any normal person eager to work in this field, I never got a call or an email to reschedule. I first thought maybe I missed it but nope, I emailed Megan who is the manager there and got nothing in return. Called around 5 pm and left a vm thinking they would still call and nothing. Now that I have read they are just another business riding off the monthly subscription and scamming people with hidden fees, I feel happy that I dodged a bullet here. Shame on Megan and the hiring manager for least bare minimum not letting me know to reschedule for a later date. I am sure the turn over rate is high here so they missed out.

Anyone else get charged while they were closed? Not only did I get charged the membership fee but they also charged me a random $299. Way to treat your clients during tough times, then not answer your phones for me or my credit card company. I dont usually make these posts, but thats almost $400 of charges while they were closed. Makes no sense and it truly disgusts me that they would do this to a loyal member. Am I the only one this happened to?

My masseuse is amazing! Its the best massage Ive had while I was able to lay on my belly. With that being said, now that I am pregnant, I would really love to see a Prenatal Massage table (the ones with a hole for the belly) invested in. Side prenatal massage are not very satisfying.

My experience here was absolutely awful. DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE. The massage therapists are lovely but the staff here are awful. They do not inform you about the extra charges to your account. They will charge you a membership fee every month and then the same fee when you go for your service.. I terminated my account and was charged a termination fee. This was not stated anywhere in the termination paperwork I signed. I have tried to speak to a manager multiple times and was never able to reach one. The receptionists are less than helpful... Do not waste your money here. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, whilst I review all the paperwork Ive signed... Dont expect a refund from this place, dont expect any help at all... there are better places than this that wont rip you off.

I love Hand & Stone. This place is awesome, from the moment you make a call for your appointment. Everyone is always so pleasant and give you celebrity treatment. The place is clean and inviting. I love the fact that if you dont go one month you dont lose the service, they accumulate. I dont know how anyone can rate it anything less than a wonderful, friendly, clean and inviting place. I love all the personnel at this place. They are wonderful and always very accommodating.

I started coming here in January and I really love it there! My therapist always does an excellent job and knows exactly what areas need attention and how much pressure to apply. I recently started using the hot stones and its amazing... I dont know why I never tried it before and will definitely never go back to regular massages! The rest of the staff is very pleasant and the atmosphere is relaxing. They really make you feel comfortable!

I have been a member here at Hand and Stone for about two years now. I absolutely love this place and I tell everyone that they should go here. The ladies at the front desk always have a smile on their face and go that extra step to ensure that your time at the spa is enjoyable. They know me by name, and do more than just small talk. The massages there are also fantastic and each massage therapist I have had has been personable and more than willing to listen to your needs. Highly suggested

Very good massage. I think the atmosphere is top notch. It was my first massage so i didnt know what to expect but it was really relaxing and they made me feel welcome right when i got there. The only thing that i would like to see improved is the time aspect, paying for an hour massage should be a complete hour on the table, not just fifty minutes.

The spa experience is great. Super nice front desk staff and therapists. WARNING!!! Do not sign up for a prepaid monthly plan. I had called in on two separate occasions to schedule my monthly appointment and was only offered 9pm in the evening time slots. I could get closer to 5 or 6 if I schedule 4 weeks out. When I called in to say, “this experience is great but I have to cancel this because I just can’t get a slot that is reasonable” they told me I had to then schedule a time to talk with management. Yes, you can’t even talk to them without a scheduled slot. I was told Matt would call me at noon the next day. Noon comes and goes and Matt doesn’t call. At 12:45 I called him. This is when things go to the twilight zone. He is interested only in asking one question related to why I want to cancel and then goes into an elevator pitch into all my options to maintain the membership but deferring payments. I tell him it’s not about that. He then accuses me on the phone of not sharing why I want to cancel (our first talking point) and moves from sales guy to rude in his mannerisms and ignorant in his understanding of what service is. My wife and I both had memberships so I asked to cancel hers as well - my credit card on the account. He makes her call back in separately after our call will end. Yes, she had to schedule a time to speak with him. On the surface the business runs well with the people trained in spa services. But it is a dumpster fire in all other aspects.

I’m not usually one to write reviews, but after my experience with Hand and Stone, I feel compelled to do so. What started off as a nice monthly treat, turned into not. I went in on the last day of March to cancel my account (I was unable to make time due to my busy work schedule) and was told I needed to wait until the end of April to cancel my account due to the 30 day rule. No big deal. The girl at the front desk had me sign some paperwork and she post dated it. I called around the week of 4/15 to book a massage for both my friend and I, to use up the money/services on my account and I was told I was not allowed to transfer it to another person due to my account being canceled. I kindly explained that the girl who had me fill out the paperwork initially said nothing would happen until the last week of April and I could let anyone in those 30 days use my account. I asked to speak to a manager and they said no one was available and that they would call me back. I hadn’t heard back for over 24 hours so I called again and got the same thing. I never once received a phone call from a manager. I was also told that on the date my paperwork was posted for, 30 days after, the account would be closed out and my services would not longer be available. Upon further investigation, I found it is a 90 day thing after the account it closed. I felt rushed and as if I wasn’t an important customer to them. I am super unhappy, and will not return or recommend H&S to anyone as I don’t feel comfortable going there. It sucks because I have a couple services left on my account and they won’t be used. Very disappointed.

The massage therapist is great!!! Frankie is always professional and I leave feeling better than when I arrived. The management and front staff are another story. They dont keep clients informed of changes in schedules or pricing. If it wasnt for my massage therapist I would go elsewhere.

Nice and clean place but my massage appt was scheduled for 2 for a 50 minute massage. Still in the waiting room at 2:09 and the masseuse didn’t even start on me until 2:20. I then looked at the clock once it was finished at 3:00. I understand it was busy and need to stay on schedule but not fair to a paying customer.

First off, I asked for deep tissue and work on my lower back but I feel like there was no effort put into either. My past massages were much stronger. Second, before I came in, I asked if I could sign up for a membership and get the membership price and I was told yes absolutely. When I went to pay it came to $110 instead of $60 or $70 that I was expecting because of an enrollment fee I was never informed of. It was unprofessional to quote me a different price than I was charged. I decided not to open a membership, and therefore this is my visit here. Very let down.

It was the end of my fiscal year and after sitting in tension for several months my upper back and neck was one big painful knot. After 1 hour of deep tissue and hot stone massage I felt better than I remembered I could feel. The people at the front desk, the masseuse, and the atmosphere are fantastic. Highly recommend.

Nice and friendly staff, the massage was meh. Also, it was not a full hour...more like 40 mins which was very unfair. I felt relaxed but had much better massages elsewhere for less. Also, over priced for services that are not that good. They push membership so hard that, I found it a bit intimidating. In fact, I said no a few times and still, another staff chimed into my check out conversation, pushing me to get the membership. Didn’t appreciate that. Will definitely not be going back.

I love Vonda for doing my facial treatment for the past 3 years when I was living in NH.Other than that, they canceled 2 appointments that my hubby and I have scheduled with them.I have moved out of state, so my packages only have 90-day validity. They told me that they will give an exemption because: 1. it was NOT our fault that they canceled (someone called in si k at their end), and 2. because I already live out of state. I specifically asked if we could reschedule the canceled services in September, and without hesitation, they said YES.Now it’s August, so I’m calling them if I can schedule the 3 packages that I already paid for in the past before I discontinued my membership, but they said that they can only give me a ONE, COMPLIMENTARY SERVICE which means that: 1. It’s NOT complimentary, but I paid for that service ALREADY. 2. I actual LOST 2 more packages that I also already paid for.Very disappointed from unprofessional dealing with their clients and former club members.

My first experience was not so great. I got a hot stone massage which literally the girl rubbed rocks on me the whole time. My impression of a hot stone is letting the stones warm you up then using your hands to get deeper. Nope. Legit just rubbed rocks on me for an hour.I got a gift card for Christmas so I went again. This time I got a regular sweedish massage. The massage itself was great. But I paid for an upgrade of a hot towel foot rub. My understanding of this is since it is an upgrade, it will be added to your services. NOPE. So I paid for a 50 minute massage to only get 40 mins of it, before they cut it short to do the hot towel treatment. I paid for the last 10 minutes of my massage twice???? $115 later.

Booked a massage for my birthday and took the day off from work. After receiving a few reminder calls to confirm my appointment they called me the day before to cancel appointment. After checking online they had the same 12pm slot open so i called and booked it again for the second time. On the day of the appointment they call me two hours before to tell me its cancelled again. Very incompetent staff. Will not go back for sure.

Im very disappointed in the customer service I received tonight. Earlier this week I left a voicemail and wanted to book an appointment. I never heard back so towards the end of the day I called again and was able to still get the time and therapist I wanted. Made the appointment and then tonight I got there ten minutes early, and told them my name and they said we dont have you booked. They offered a later time but honestly I live almost an hour away and didnt want to be gone that long. I would like to see maybe better training for customer service and obviously a fully trained person scheduling appointments. Ive been a member for 2 years and I havent had any issues up until this point. But Im suprised there wasnt a manager to help the situation become better resolved.

I recently went in for a 1 hour massage and a foot treatment that I received on a gift card. Janine was fantastic and very knowledgeable, however, the massage didnt last an hour. Both foot treatment and massage totaled one hour, and I did notice her rushing through the massage. This is the reason for my low rating.

Terrible massage experience! The padded headrest kept slipping off the bed so my head was resting on the metal bar. I had a bump on my forehead when returning home. When I tried to explain the situation to the owner Gus he actually hung up on me! He insinuated that I was making up the experience! Also, the 60 minute massage was only 45 minutes. There are so many reputable salons in the area so please do not support this business.

Ive been getting hot stone massages for about 2 years now. But today I had my first himalayan stone massage and it was incredible for my inflammation! I felt it as soon as I walked down the hallway after. The salt stones also exfoliate the body and you get all the benefits from the minerals.Such a great experience and Kelly at the Bedford Hand and Stone location was awesome! My first visit here and my last. Started off my standing without any greeting for 3 to 5 minutes while the receptionist was on the phone --when I made my appointment there was nothing finalized accept payment and a time to arrive. I was given a brief sheet stating my preference on pressure I selected firm after all i was there for what I THOUGHT was a deep tissue massage which felt more like heavy petting / caressing -- my boyfriend could of and has done better. The walls in the room were so paper thin you could hear everyones conversations and movements the whole time. At check out they try to get you to join a monthly plan which wasnt explained eloquently at all and was very off putting. I left no more relaxed then I arrived, waisted 75 dollars and an hour of my time. Disappointing experience overall!

I will not return there ever again. They hire everybody who has a piece of paper saying they can do massage but not actual specialists. Its not bad, just no quality if you know the difference.Their management is awful, they overstress their front office asking for drawer balance in the middle of conversation with a client, they make it all a hassle, they dont even greet you when you come and make you stand there and wait untill somebody will feel like talking to you.I wont chose a franchise anymore thats for sure.

Came in for an interview with the manager. Manager was sick. Met with the owner. The owner was very kind. Second interview was set but I never got an email confirmation. I called in the morning to make sure the interview was happening that day still because there was no confirmation in my email. Megan the manager said it was 10 min prior to when I called and would check schedule to reschedule to interview. 6 hours go by and I call back and let front desk know I sent the manager an email and I havent heard anything back. Megan says I wasnt handling it properly because I called her and sent an email. She was very unprofessional and I would not go here or work here with that management. When you are told someone is going to get back to you that should mean in a timely manner.

The quality of service is very good. Ive had facials and massages with mult staff (kalianna, Kim, kristy) and they were all great. They have openings on a moments notice, which for me is great cause my work schedule can be crazy. Easy to get to with plenty of parking. The front office staff can be pushy with memberships.

I had a facial with Kaylieana and a massage with Alena, and both were excellent! Afterward, the manager, Megan, took the time to explain which products Kaylieana had used and how they each worked. She was incredibly knowledgeable, and I appreciate her time and dedication. The staff at Hand and Stone in Bedford are truly exceptional, and I can’t wait to go back next month!

Very pricey for poor - mediocre service. Always either a hit or miss for me. My partner has a membership so weve gotten a few couples massages together. Most of the massage therapists are just okay, one or two are REALLY good and theres one whos just absolutely terrible. I thought it was like her first day the first time I had her since she seemed nervous and didnt pay attention to any of my requests (pressure, focus areas, etc), but then my partner had her and there was no improvement, and he had the exact same complaints. Also theres one receptionist whos always been very disrepectful and rude to us, my mother-in-law thinks its because were trans and gay but Im not 100% sure. Either way Im overall disappointed with my experiences here, and my partner and mother-in-law are going to cancel their memberships. Definitely not worth the cost.

Very disappointed. Therapist gave wrong massage and then was overcharged and had to return. All the relaxation paid for has now gone and Ive spent 40 minutes getting most of the way home and then coming back again. Sad.

I have a membership there and every time we made an appointment it was cancelled- never happened until I gave in and got a membership. So, it became a constant struggle to get in. After I complained and wanted to cancel I left a few messages for the manager and never got a response. I was charged all these months because she never got back to me- TERRIBLE customer service.
