Got my birkenstocks resoled at Vaneks Shoe Repair. They did an excellent job! My birks are just like new!

So pleased with my experience here. My 3 year old chelsea boots look brand new. Great price and service as well! Feels great to keep wearing my favorite boots and not have to go buy something new.

Look at the pictures and judge the quality or work for yourself. Disappointed is an understatement. That is a 80 year old leather patch the was submitted in pristine condition and now its ruined. Should have been a simple sewing job.

I just had my pair of Frye boots resoled from them and they did a FABULOUS job on them! Ive had these boots for a couple of years now and they look brand new again. I cannot recommend this place enough and will definitely be back next time I need any of my shoes repaired. Thank you so much!

Vaneks re-heeled my favorite pair of Skechers boots, which are now at least as good as they were when brand new. Vaneks completed the job ahead of schedule, too. Im very happy with VSR.

They added a zippered top to a leather tote for me. Looks perfect, zipper is a secure YYK and matches the bag wonderfully. Fast turnaround, would highly recommend!

Feb., 2021Shoe repair is good. Thank you. I had been a VSR customer for several years, that is until Dec., 2020.While there talking to the young man that took my order behind the counter, a lady with a sparkling, festive colored face mask asked me to move behind the large plastic shield. I fully understand the reason (coronavirus) but did NOT appreciate her stern / curt demeanor. The VSR person I was speaking with had shifted right behind the cash register next to the shield to show me the soles of my shoes so I did the same. Thats when the lady said I needed (i.e., had) to move behind the shield, which of course I immediately did.The irony is that I had just mentioned to the young man I was a years-long customer because I liked Mr. Vanek Sr. and their service. I bought several pairs of nice boots there. But it took that one impolite action from the VSR lady to drive me away for good. I live in Tigard - theres a shoe repair store much nearer and they too have been around for years and years. Thats my new preference.We all have bad days and the customer isnt always right. A bad personal interaction however, can ruin the relationship. VSR has many old and new customers. I may not be an LDS member but I WAS a loyal, satisfied customer. ...No longer.Sincerely: One less customer. This is a full service shoe repair shop. This is exceptionally rare. If they cannot do it, it shouldnt be done. Very reasonably priced; with great customer service. Can not recommend this place enough!

Called ahead because I live quite a ways away. Described in DETAIL what I was hoping to have done. Was told they could ABSOLUTELY do the work however i may not get much stretch into the shoe. Drove 15 miles to be told at the counter that they CANNOT stretch my shoe. And I should get the next size up. Thanks, I had already DONE that. Thanks for the wasted time and fuel. I expected better from a small business who has done amazing repairs to friends boots. Oh well.

Super nice people! I had a new pair of shoes with some metal attachments that came apart and they fixed them right up for me in less than a minute. While I was waiting, I noticed they have some really cool, unique cowboy boots in the shop- I think they might be hand-made by them. They also have an excellent selection of orthotic shoe inserts, so if youre in the neighborhood, stop in!

This place is AMAZING! Best shoe repair business out there. Their prices are fair and they treat each customer very kindly. The quality of their work really shows. Ive been coming here for years and its always been very pleasant. The front lady has a great attitude and is very friendly. Ive never had a bad experience here in my 7 years of coming here. Ive never needed to get a pair of leather boots done before, but I wore out my Fryes and the bottoms needed some TLC. I brought these in. They were so nice and honest. Didnt try to sell me on something I didnt really need. They are fairly priced and they did excellent work on my boots. Very much recommend them for any shoe work.

They do the bang up job in cleaning the shoes however, they could run expensive ($15 for show cleaning). I used them couple of times but then I ordered a cleaner from amazon for $15 dollars and that works pretty good too. If you have some dear shoes you should take it to them and theyll help you out with good quality service!

Did a great job repairing the leather sole on my Magnanni dress shoes. Replaced a half sole on each shoe, and even after months of wearing them, they look great. Friendly service and great prices for the quality. Also had a good variety of shoe cream with colors i could not find elsewhere.

Have used there service several times and been very satisfied. I had a Coach purse with a scratch in it. They were able to alloy a polish that made it undetectable. I have also had new soles put on my boots.

Vaneks did an excellent job stretching the toe box of my Danner boots that became a bit tight over the years. Service was done exactly when they said it would be done. Great value!

One of the most distasteful things I’ve ever heard came from the blond saleswoman. I may not be the most eco-friendly guy. I drive a van; I eat meat; I wear leather. But I was sickened by this woman’s comment, when she saw me admiring the boots made of more exotic animal skins. “You know,” she said, gesturing to a pricey pair of elephant boots, “the other elephants get so sad when one of them gets killed, that it’s more humane to just kill the entire herd.” Anyway I hear they do good work, but I can’t bring myself to patronize this otherwise convenient cobbler because they openly, joyfully promote mass murder of the beautiful, intelligent, social, magnificent elephant so they can throw a few unique boots on the shelf.🤮

Brought my leather boots here because they were making a squeaky noise. They fixed it. They did a complex work on the sole by removing it and doing other things. I though it would look bad after they put it back, it looked like nothing had happened to it. Amazing.Brought the same boots because of detirioration on the back of the shoe. I thought the boot did not had a fix, I thought they could not bring it back. They did. They also gave the shoes a nice polished. Amazing service.

Add life to your shoes. If you need lifts added, even to only one shoe they can do that and make it look great. Its great to have a local cobbler.

They fixed a pair of shoes at the very last minutes....5 minutes till close and day before Christmas. Very generous and my shoes turned out great.

Good shoe repair people are hard to find! These folks are even better....theyre fantastic!They take pride in what they do and it shows. Theyve saved more than one pair of favorite shoes or boots for me. I dont even mind driving from Sherwood to Beaverton because theyre that good.

I went in to Vaneks with my favorite pair of boots. These boots have seen better days but the professionals at Vaneks breathed new life into the leather. They also bent over backward to get the boots fixed before I went out of town. I highly recommend.

Vaneks always has done good job repairing for my wife and I and shes been coming here since she was a kid.They do want to be paid in advance which is fine and want the check tag.

They saved my Wedding Shoes!I got married in beautiful red Michael Kors shoes and I love them. Unfortunately I loved them more then they could take and between wear and tear and an unfortunate cat puke incident they were unwearable. I brought them in with little hope, and I was blown away when I got them back good as new (better actually because they put slip free bottoms on). Thanks for saving a pair of shoes near and dear to me. 10/10 would recommend!

One of a few remaining places where you can find a real cobbler who can professionally repair your shoes. The owners roots can be traced back to Bohemia a country well known for skilled craftsmen and poor customer service.

Its been a while since Ive hired a cobbler and Ive developed a bit of an inventory of boots that need to be repaired. Brought a cheaper pair to Vaneks for my first-time-experience with them; I will not be bringing any of my others: After a gruff first encounter when I dropped off my boots where communication was minimal and those talking mostly acted like I wasnt there, I was given a decent price for re-souling and repairing the leather and a one week timeframe. Upon returning at 3:30PM (pickup was to be after 3PM) on the specified day, they were not ready. I left and returned an hour later. The work is poor at best: The trim work on the soul looks shoddy and uneven, and there are tons of fat chunks of soul hanging off the sides in areas. There is excess glue all over the leather. I put them on when I got home and the leather repairs instantly started falling apart, with gaps where theyd glued things together instantly appearing. Did it even have time to set? It looks like they may have smeared glue while trying to buff them. Meanwhile, the rest of the leather is barely even cleaned up. Id get a better job from a shoe shiner on the street. I really hope I can find a way to attach pictures to fully illustrate how bad it is... Absolutely shameful.

Basically wearing brand new shoes but I didnt have to break them in and it cost about a third of what it does to buy them brand new. They only time theyve ever been late repairing my stuff, the lady bumped me to the top of the list and offered to deliver them to me - A+ service and solid craftsmanship.

I had a deep scrape on my expensive and beautiful ostrich quill boot and decided to go back to Vaneks where they did fine work for me before (a detailed and time-consuming repair that time). I showed to Mr. Vanek and he said, Ill see what I can do and walked into the back. Two minutes later the boot was done, perfect, the scrape invisible and polished. He didnt charge me and it was a perfect experience.

I took in a pair of hiking boots for patching and restitching - very affordable, nice work, and a lot cheaper than a new pair of boots.

I dropped my shoes off for repair and Mr. Vanek was quite friendly, told me theyd be ready in a week (Saturday).I arrived a week later at about noon and a woman was at the counter. She told me my shoes werent ready and that I needed to read the ticket stub which says pick up shoes after 3. If this is their policy they should notify their customers when they drop off their shoes. This woman was downright rude and tried to make me feel like an idiot for showing up before 3.When I arrived again about 3 weeks later to pick up my shoes the same woman was at the counter. I mentioned to her that it would really be great if they would let their customers know about their strange rule of only having shoes ready after 3, and she responded with another nasty comment to me as I walked out.This kind of service convinced me to never consider using their service again. I have worked in customer service and I generally was always courteous to the customer even if the customer was wrong. If I were running this business shed be gone today.

Impressed with the customer service, but this will be 3 times that well be taking the same boots back for the same repair.

They have done excellent work for me with many pairs of shoes. Theyve repaired the inside worn out leather heel linings in my danskos and added extra vibram cushion soles to my nice boots so I dont feel every rock or bump I step on, and of course done basic heel repairs. Ive been very happy with their work and fair prices. The only downsides are that I can only make it there on Saturdays due to their hours and most repairs take at least a week.

Ive had a few repairs done by Vaneks. They did as quoted and my expectations were met ~ they do really good work.However, the personnel there arent very friendly, and dont forget the blue receipt (even though I had the receipt for payment of work to be done), I felt the man who helped me was a bit snarky, which wasnt necessary.

Rude service. Talked to me like I was an idiot. Had to take my daughters chelsea boots to Dereks in Portland to put a rubber cover over the bare wooden heal. Dereks has done my Allen Edmunds for years, so I know theyll do a good job. I no longer work downtown so its a little less convenient for me. I wont be back to Vaneks.

My shoes look great and it cost a lot less than I thought it would, I would highly recommend this place.

Third time going to Vaneks (3 resoles for 2 pair of Danner Acadias and 1 pair of Danner Striker zip up boots). Saved me literally hundreds of dollars, and quality just the same as new boots, but not having to spend the time wearing in the leather.

I was turned down by 2 different repair shops to repair my faaaavorite boots, and clearly shown a LOT of love in the last 6 years. The wedge heel was worn down to som e of the wood. I almost lost hope after being turned down a second time and being told these were unrepairable, i decided to check out one more place which happened to be Vanecks. The lady at the front made my day in the first 5 minutes. They took my boots and i had them back a week later. So happy wth the work they turned out great. Decent pricing. I Highly recommend using Vanecks repair shop, they truly value their customers and it shows in the quality of their work and customer service.

Walked in no one at the counter. Two guys behind the store area, rang bell, no response, knocked on window 2-3 times and finally someone came. What a grouch cant believe all the 5 star, really misconceptive And then really did not care about fixing shoes. Walked out frustrated.
