The overall experience was good;However, I said it very clearly that I visited because I wanted to renew my frame prescription, and would like to use my this years insurance for a new pair, but they included contact lens prescription still and charged $80 for it; I think the confusion came out when they asked do you wear contacts as well? and I said yes... i even didnt realized contact lens prescription was included until I was charged during check out...

The Tiger and Beaverton Vision World clinics are amazing!!I took my father as a new patient to the Tiger Vision World clinic. His experience was remarkable. The eye exam and the eyeglasses fulfil his expectations. Doctor Harris and staff are very professional, knowledgeable, and efficient.Because of my father’s fantastic experience, I took my mother to the Beaverton Vision World clinic. It was the same great experience that I end up buying my own eyeglasses as well. They were very helpful and treated us with respect.My parents do not speak English, so they have Spanish speaking personal. Mercedes is so wonderful; she translated for my mother while her eye exam and when choosing her eyeglasses. We are very, very happy with the whole team. In addition, they have a great selection of glasses.Thank you so much!

Im a doctor and Ive been coming to see Dr. Jeff for the past 5 years. I have to commend him for running an amazing practice. The checkin, the staff, the location, and cleanliness of the facility is wonderful. Im always loving the great customer service of being on time, getting me in and out always. They have very efficient check in process and the assistant got me in an exam room always within 10 minutes of me getting there. My interaction with Dr.Jeff has always been wonderful. Hes wonderful, knowledgeable, and a delight to have conversations with. Over the years, I feel hes gotten to know me and about me in a depth Ive never had with any other practice or provider. He obviously cares deeply about people and his practice of optometry. I trust him completely. His staff has helped me so much in picking out my glasses, making sure Im aware of my benefits and coverages, and the glasses always arrive promptly. Ive had to get my glasses adjusted and no problem. Thank you so so much. Epic practice, epic provider, epic staff. I highly recommend this practice.

I had a fantastic experience with Beaverton Vision World. I was a new patient and had such an easy time scheduling an appointment, being seen and ordering my contacts. Irene at the front desk was very helpful and her customer service skills are top-notch!Dr. Jeffrey Harris is just so friendly. You can tell that he loves his job and cares for his patients greatly. For 4 years now, Ive had separate optometrists tell me that I have oval shaped optic nerves and that they are suspect for glaucoma. Ive had anxiety and fear of going to these visits and not knowing the answer. Dr. Harris relieved all of my fears and gave me a very clear answer after taking detailed images of my eyes. I am so grateful to him and can attest that he is an excellent provider.Highly recommend this clinic for all patients! Thank you Dr. Harris and Irene!

My boyfriend and I visited Vision World as new patients and our experience was so wonderful. The entire team was friendly, helpful, and genuine. Carla was the first to greet us and did an amazing job at making us feel so welcomed. Dr. Harris raved about how excited he was to have new patients. Lastly, we were mostly impressed with how patient Irene and Shawn were with helping us choose a new pair of frames. We’re fairly indecisive people and probably spent about an hour and a half to pick out frames (hahaha) but we were so grateful that Irene and Shawn gave honest opinions and made great recommendations. Most of the selection is on the pricier side but still stylish. I look forward to my appointment next year!

Beaverton Vision World is a very friendly place and a very well run practice. They are clearly focused on COVID safety as well. In addition to the usual mask requirement, the waiting room is closed (you call when you arrive and they then let you know when to come in), hand sanitizer is right inside the door, temp taken before you go in, and everything sanitized between patients. This is probably the most efficient eye appointment Ive had, and Ive been wearing contacts and glasses for 23 years. The doctor worked with me on my particular insurance situation, and the woman who helped me with picking out my glasses was extremely helpful, and finished out my full transaction for the visit. When you try on glasses, they have you keep them in a tub and then when youre all done, they sanitize what youve tried on.Highly recommend this practice!

I had an appointment December 3rd and was told I would receive a call or text when my glasses were ready. Over a month later I called to check, assuming that COVID had caused delays and ready to accept it would be a bit longer. NOPE! Theyve had them for a month and never contacted me. They claim that they texted and called me but they did not. I was told Its an automated system so I have no way to check, and well theyre ready now. And this answer I only got after calling a 2nd time. The first time I was put on hold for 10 minutes then hung up on.Edit after business reply: The reason that I didnt get the message was because I did something? No, this is absolutely not true. I would never have turned off notifications from a medical provider. Your system failed, get it fixed and dont blame your customers.

My daughter had her first professional eye exam and got her first pair of glasses. Dr. Lee was awesome! Tammy helped us pick out glasses & found the perfect pair with us. Zach helped us when we came in to pick up the glasses. They were all three so nice & helpful and made our experience wonderful. My daughter loves her new glasses & looks very cute! My family has been loyal B.V.W. clients for years. The service has always been exceptional. So it came as quite a surprise when we had a hiccup with our last visit. But, the way the entire staff handled this hiccup is a lesson that should be taught in business schools! It was right before close when the issue happened so I left it until the next day (a Saturday) to deal with. I called in the morning, asked for the manager but didnt explain the issue, just said that there was one. The manager wasnt in, and I didnt ask for a return call. But Brittany, the manager, called me from home that afternoon. She left every possible form of contact info for me to connect with her, explained shed be out of the office for several days and I was welcome to contact her at any time. There was no need to contact Brittany, because by 10:00am on Monday, I had a phone call from the owner - Irene. Our talk couldnt have gone better! Over the next few days, we exchanged many texts as she went well above any expectation I would ever have had to make this situation right. Not only did fixing the original issue take a great deal of work on her part, but then she put in an extraordinary amount of work to go even further in making me happy. Again, she had no need to do this much and I never would have asked for this much, but she did it and I truly believe was happy to do it. When I drove back to B.V.W. from Hood River to get the work done, the Optician was at lunch. But Sean heard I was there, stopped his lunch for me, and got the work done within minutes. I dont know what may to say to convey how perfectly this all went and I will always be their most loyal client.

I got to meet Dr Curtis for the first time today, and I was really pleased by the level of service both she, and the staff I worked with, provided. I went in for both a glasses and contact lens fitting and screening. While waiting for the doctor the staff answered all my insurance questions with clarity, helped me pick the best way to bill insurance and use my flex pay account so that my budget was met.The real shine, though, came during the exam. Based on things that I mentioned Dr Curtis asked if I would be willing to do an additional test for my eyes. She had caught on to a pattern in my description of how I was seeing things, and wanted to check my corneas under a different camera. We were able to see a map of my corneas, showing a left eye deformation that made images ghost or very slightly be doubled. No other doctor, no matter how many times I described the images I was seeing, caught onto this. My former doctor even told me that I was just being oversensitive! Dr Curtis made me feel comfortable, found a valid issue and worked with me on options to best fit me, my lifestyle and my budget!When it came time to choose frames I was shown both a lower cost and higher cost frame; but after talking with the staff about what I wanted to both spend, and how I liked my glasses to look, we found one that fit well and was very cost friendly. I was open as to my budget needs and they were able to offer me a multitude of options for my glasses that fit it.I am very pleased with the level of service provided today, and would highly recommend this location to anyone.This is not a paid advertisement or a paid testimonial. These statements are made based on my experience with the staff.

It is a pleasure doing business with the Vision world team in Beaverton. From the front office to the team of doctors, they have all worked with me to provide the best lenses and fashionable classes. I have a job where I use computers and RF devices everyday. The blue light blocking lenses that Tammy suggested have made it easier for me to get to sleep at night. Tammy is the best at picking out the perfect lenses for me! I have purchased 4 pairs this year of various colors and styles and receive complements on my glasses daily. I cant say enough great things about the team in Beaverton and I recommend them when asked about my glasses!

Ive seen both Dr. Curtis and Dr. Harris and theyre both great! My first visit I got contacts and Ive been getting them for over a decade now, they were a better price than Ive ever paid before. I recently purchased new glasses and Dr. Curtis patiently explained to me everything that I was paying for and what insurance was covering, I was very confused so it was nice that she took the time to explain everything and not get frustrated. I am going to pick them up today! I would recommend anyone to Beaverton Vision World :)

Really great experience! First of all, the building is light & bright, it has nice high ceilings and the decor/atmosphere is beautiful. Dr. Harris is personality plus he had a great sense of humor and the visit was super easy and informative. He actually made it fun. Maybe it was fun because I had just left the dentist and pretty much anything is better than hearing drills and scraping in your mouth for an hour. Ive never seen the inside of my eyes so it was kind of cool to see and know I had perfect eyes. (well, except they need glasses). The woman who helped me select my glasses was super too! Her name escapes me but shes awesome. It exceeded my expectations. I dont have vision on my insurance, but the cost of the exam and the type of glasses that I selected was a good value out of pocket. I checked other options and reviews before selecting Beaverton Vision World and this seemed to be hands down the place to go. I have some new frames coming soon that are going to make life more clear! Its been a bit blurry lately. Yay!

I came to Vision World as a new patient in December of 2018 and was seen by Olesya Viestenz. I needed a new rx because I was struggling to read street signs and squinting a lot. I was told that my rx hadnt changed. I was also told that I was getting older and couldnt expect to have perfect vision. I was 44.I didnt go back and just recently got new glasses elsewhere. They told me my rx had changed quite dramatically and it was no wonder I wasnt seeing clearly to drive. I habe perfect vision with my new glasses.I would never go back to Vision World and I certainly wouldnt recommend them.

I got glasses about 9 months ago. After wearing them a few weeks they became loose. As I was told I could come back in any time for an adjustment I brought them back. The woman who said shed adjust them immediately started bending them until they broke. I got a new pair a few weeks later. Even though they are the same model of frame they are really loose. I took them in today to risk getting them adjusted and was told we dont adjust frames by the same woman who broke my glasses last visit. So my glasses Ive had for less than a year are worthless. I like Dr Curtis but this place is a nightmare. I am searching for a new eye Dr so I can get new glasses that I can actually use.

I have been going here for years and it seems Ive had nothing but problems the last few times Ive had to get new lenses. The office has definitely gone downhill the last year. Im currently waiting for new lenses which will be the 3rd time trying to get it right. Ive had to go back 4 times in 3 days just to get the frames fixed because when I asked to have them tightened they got all messed up. I also got my old lens and my new lens put in and couldnt see anything when I went back to work! Had to go back to figure that part out. I have progressive and trust me every little tweak messes up your vision. Im currently trying to call to complain to a manager but today the calls arent going through, it says try your call again later! Im fed up with this place like I told them yesterday. This is my last time coming to this office.

I recently moved to the area, so it is difficult to find an eye doctor, dentist, etc. that you like. Luckily, I found Beaverton Vision World and thought it was pretty great. The staff is very welcoming and polite. The premises are clean and well-attended, making it evident that this isnt some sort of Eyes in 20 minutes or less deal. At any rate, I went in for contacts and was into see the doctor after an initial rather quickly. He was professional, yet funny as he explained what was going on with my eyeballs before helping me with my new pair of contacts. Afterwards, an assistant showed me how to put in and take out the contacts before sending me on my way. Yes, it was a little expensive, but it was worth the money. Ill be back for sure.

I went here a year and a half ago, and if Id rated it then, it would have been a 4 star review. Because I get automated phone calls every three months after the one year mark about how IM DUE FOR MY ANNUAL EYE EXAM, it is definitely a 1 star kind of business. If every other optometrist office in the Portland metro area burns to the ground except this one, I guess you could use them but never ever ever give them personal information unless you enjoy recorded messages sent to you on a quarterly basis.EDIT: I was contacted personally by the owner to apologize for the aggravating nature of the company they farm out the robocalls to and informed they would be changing their system and/or the company who handles that side of things for them. So long as I dont get another call in the next couple months, Im altering my review given this good news.

Unfortunately it appears that the quality of care at Beaverton Vision World has gone down hill. The first time I came here I needed contact lenses; that all went fine and I decided I would come back for my glasses.Unfortunately in that short time the quality of the employees went down drastically. The doctor appointment went fine and from what I could tell the doctor at the clinic was very competent and capable. The first woman I worked with seemed nice enough and checked me in for my appointment. Unfortunately the guy that was also working up front was the one who helped me pick pick out my glasses was horrendous. It seemed it was due to inexperience, bad training, or what I suspect is a complete lack of work ethic.The guy was completely uninterested in actually helping me get a quality set of glasses. I have some strong prescriptions and as it turns out that leads to some thick lenses unless I were to upgrade to a different type of lens, which I would have been happy to pay for. That option was never presented to me. That alone is fine and having some thinker lenses sucks but lesson learned.However when we were fitting it; it was obvious that that he was incapable of helping me. I had asked him to make some adjustments and he did the exact opposite of what I wanted. It was just incredible; I have never seen a guy care so little about doing a decent job. I actually had to make my own adjustments and undo what he did. Finally I decided I could just make the adjustments at home so I gave them back for him to clean; and of course I get it back with a big thumb print on it. If you are working at a vision clinic and cant clean glasses something is very wrong.I would suggest going anywhere else for glasses. The prices of the frames here are quite high and the quality of care is dismal.Update 09/08/2016After posting the review last month I was contacted by the staff of Beaverton Vision World and they wanted to correct the situation. Tammy was great, helpful, and very understanding of my complaints. After a short discussion we were able to come to a solution that would suit me well. They were able to switch out the lenses and provide me with a set of glasses that would work much better for me.Ideally this situation would have never happened but I can understanding staffing issues. If you decide to use Beaverton Vision World I would suggest not getting frustrated and speaking with Tammy to correct any issues to save everyone time. She seems dedicated to providing quality service.

I was in the Beaverton store today to get my glass lenses changed out. Your rep broke the my frames and told me they didnt have the frames in stock and would have to order them. This is not why I rated them low, my reason is the customer service I received. It started with your frames are almost out of warranty but we will replace them. I dont believe a warranty come into play when YOU BROKE the frame not I. A warranty should never have been brought up given these were in perfect condition before your rep took them upstairs to replace the lens.

Update: It did take filing with the BBB to connect with the Owner and resolve this issue. Once the insurance was properly billed, they paid the bill. This could have been resolved much earlier with proper billing from the beginning. The situation is now resolved. I hope the Billing team learned along the way how to bill Medical insurances and how to treat customers. I have always had good treatment in the past from Tigard / Beaverton Vision World and hope that is what everyone experiences, including when it comes to billing.Previous 1-Star Review: The Billing Dept is the WORST. They refuse to let me talk with the owners / managers, they also FAILED to bill my Insurance, although they did confirm that has all the information for the two policies I was covered by at the time of service (insurance cards were photocopied when I was in the office). When I call to resolve the issue with Dr. Jeff Harris, or his wife and co-owner Irene, Laura claims they are unavailable or sends the call to voice mail. Both of my insurances, Blue Cross Blue Shield AND United Healthcare confirmed they have NEVER received a bill from this company, and have no claims on file for the date of service. I have asked the Billing Dept to bill the insurances, which she has the information for, as was supposed to happen after the service on 6/24/17. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. Hopefully they can assist in connecting with the owners since the Billing Dept refuses to do so. Heres hoping!

To date: HORRID!!! As a brand new customer my first appointment was rescheduled with no explanation given.(Its not EASY reworking my work schedule) My glasses were NOT ready the first week and I had to call to find this out. The second week when I called I was told the lab broke the lens AGAIN and had to redo them and STILL NO ONE CALLED TO GIVE ME UPDATE! I have paid over $400 out of pocket WITH insurance and now told another 5 days. People who work there are very nice but the process in place is very unprofessional. I have been in customer service for years and would have lost hundreds of customers if I operated in this manner. Pull it together, make sure your associates call the customer to appraise them of problems or delays!!!! I would probably not be so angry if someone had taken ONE MINUTE to call me. I feel that they already have my money in their bank account so who cares how long it takes for the glasses to be ready.-----------------------------------------------------------I received a call from BVW and they were quite apologetic for the miscommunication. They told me that the lab was very sorry for the inconvenience and that the lab wanted to give me a free pair of lenses to compensate. I just need to bring in frames and they would refit with all the trimmings for free)That did a lot towards me having new faith in this company. I appreciated the follow up call and BVW willingness to make things right. Thank you...

Ive stuck with Vision World for 5 pairs of glasses now and only 1 pair have they gotten correct the first time. They seem to try to work with you to get the glasses re-done, but you wont get the correct lenses/frames in a timely manner. Theres always something wrong with their labs. I stuck with them because they were a mid point between home and work and they were the only people that had prescription gunnars, but the back and forth is just not worth it.My first pair of glasses I got were gunnars, first then sent me glasses in the wrong frames, then they got me the wrong prescription in the right frames. Then instead of compensating me for the wait time, which they originally told me they would, they said Guess what, you can also keep the other frames and lenses for free! Why would I want the ugly frames I didnt want in the first place? How is that some compensation?My second pair I didnt get until a month past their 10-15 business day. I frequently had to call them to get updates on the status because they were so late.My third pair were also gunnars which the prescription was still wrong. I also had to frequently call to get updates.My fourth pair was correct, finally!My fifth pair were prescription sunglasses, the prescription was so completely off that I couldnt see clearly for 1-2 hours after wearing them for 30 minutes. (I got epilasik but still had alittle prescription left) So I asked for them to get my lenses without the prescription and with the same mirror/color/coating. That way I could get some sunglasses back without the hassle. They said Sure no problem. I get the lenses in and theyre the wrong color. They tell me they cant get my lenses without a prescription. Why didnt you tell me that sooner instead of have me go back and forth and waste both of our time on lenses I didnt like? I asked for a refund because they failed to make the prescription, they said they couldnt because the lenses have been made. THEY WERE MADE INCORRECTLY! So the fix would be get another exam, try again for new lenses. I got tired of this constant run around and gave up, told them to take me off their list and not contact me again.I had specific requests for my glasses that I felt like I was playing good money for, I could have just gone anywhere else to get glasses, but I stuck with them believing were working with a new lab excuse, maybe I was unlucky but it was out of hand.If you like the run around, go here. Otherwise look elsewhere.They get a 1 star for the 1 of 5 times they got my Glasses correct without any hassle.

Poor quality lenses and poor service. The coating wore off within a few months and were replaced under their warranty. The replacements didnt last any longer, but they refused to replace them and instead said it was my fault, that I was setting them lens-down on hard surfaces. Ive worn glasses all my adult life and have never done that, but have always taken great care with my glasses. This was insulting. Ill never go back, and would not recommend them.
