I had my first appointment today with Ginny and I was very pleasantly surprised with how well it went. I always get nervous before these types of appointments but she made me feel very comfortable and I’m excited for future visits. Highly recommend!

My previous provider retired. My new provider took over seamlessly. The office staff is on top of things there-- calling to set up appts, and late one Friday afternoon I was leaving town and realized Id not be able to get medication refills in time from the pharmacy for the weekend-- the office provided samples to pick up on the way out of town. Enjoying my new provider, Ginny Weston. She listens to questions and concerns. (The only bummer re the Center is that the office doesnt use email, which I prefer to messaging, lol.)Tina Campbell

Saw Wendy Zamora about a week ago. If you are afraid, or feel a little imposter syndrome, and you just want to be believed, definitely give this place a go. Wow they are so kind, and as soon as we sat down, she started asking me stuff, and I just felt shockingly comfortable to just tell the truth as best I could. She believed me about my issues and she will believe you too! Give it a try :)

I highly recommend Jennie Peterson for her qualifications but more importantly for her detailed and compassionate philosophy to practice.

Jennie also really tries to work with your lifestyle requirements. If you are looking for help with anxiety or mental health I highly recommend her and the Center of Excellence

In short- my experience with the COE was not great. They did not follow up with care discussed in my first appointment. They also did not return my email or voicemail regarding that care. Additionally, I felt alienated by the psychiatrist due to a medication that I was prescribed by a previous provider. She was not in agreement with that prescription and was reluctant to discuss the medication and alternatives in depth. The session was very short and I felt worse after. Ive since switched medication and begun counseling under Western Psychological and Counseling Services. I highly recommend them. If more detail is helpful please see below!I was referred to the COE by my primary care physician for both psychiatric and cognitive behavioral therapy services. I was able to set up a psychiatric appointment, but I was unable to receive any communication back from the office after that first appointment. In the appointment I was told by the psychiatrist that she/or someone in the office would email me a list of potential therapists to work with for cognitive behavioral therapy. I emailed and left a voicemail regarding the list and scheduling an appointment. I never received communication back.Additionally, I was unable to tell whether the lack of follow through was due to the interactions between the psychiatrist and I during our session, or simple mishandling of email and voicemail. The psychiatrist did not agree with the medication I was prescribed by a previous provider. She informed me of risks associated with the medication I was taking, which I had previously not been aware of. She said that she was willing to work with me as long as I was willing to change medication. The manner in which she communicated this to me made me feel that she didnt truly want to work with me. She was brief in her explanations and it was hard to get her to elaborate or educate me on my current medication and potential alternatives. She seemed anxious to end the appointment. An hour was allotted for the session, however we used 15-20 minutes. In comparison- the initial diagnostic appointment I had with Western Psych was almost 2 hours. The psychiatrist went through a comprehensive questionnaire that felt balanced with general talk therapy. The experiences were night and day.Im grateful for the information the psychiatrist was able to provide, however Im not grateful for the manner in which she delivered it. I felt treated more like a liability due to the medication I was on rather than someone who needed more education and a partner in my mental health journey.Ive since switched medication while working with Western Psychological and Counseling Services (I recommend them highly). They called me as soon as they received the referral from my primary care physician. The therapist and psychiatrist create safe spaces to discuss medication and traumatic experiences. I feel heard and trusted with Western Psych, which I cannot say is true of my experience at the COE.

I have been a patient for almost six years now, and I love this place! I enjoy every visit as I feel welcomed by the front desk staff and feel heard and understood by my provider, Dr. Jennie Peterson. Jennie has gone above and beyond time and time again to help me with my concerns and worries. I feel that I can trust her and I know that she genuinely wants to help me. Jennie is one of the best mental health providers I have ever experienced!

Jennie Peterson is a wonderful psychiatrist. I have not felt this good in years, and I have been a mess for several years! Jennie knows her medications! She listens to me and how I have been feeling, as well as she has been open to all of my other more natural treatments from other Drs. She just wants her patients to feel the best they can. The office staff is very nice and the office is always clean. I would totally recommend her!

Always a friendly and welcoming environment with courteous, professional staff who treat patients with respect and compassion. Wendy Zamora is the kind of provider you always hope to find, she is kind, knowledgeable, innovative and effective. She listens and parters with you in your care. Id trust her with my life. Kerri Harrington, the director of operations, is the person who puts the practice over the top. She makes communication, accessibility, scheduling and billing a snap, knows the patients, and most importantly is an excellent problem-solver for issues with pharmacy, billing, etc. She goes above and beyond to make sure that you feel supported and have a positive experience so that the focus remains on your care and health. Highly recommend.

I rated as one star because they demand urine tests to even see you and prescribe medication. I’ve been seeing psychiatrists for the last six years and NO OTHER OFFICE even requests this.I find it distasteful and a sign of a lack of respects and trust. I’m trusting them with my innermost feelings and life history - they need to trust that I will tell them about whatever drugs I am taking and/or my history with drugs (as I have done with every other medical professional).

The Hotel California of psychiatric clinics. Once you check in, you cant ever leave! Seriously, if you try to leave they will do their best to screw you over. In my case they wanted to discontinue all of my medications so theyre not liable. Im on Prozac and was on it before coming to their clinic. And when Ive been untreated the symptoms are hellish, and have in the past pushed me into suicidal ideation. But you know, that doesnt matter as long as theyre not liable, right?(Another fun fact; after tossing me a discontinuation schedule they told me to go to the ER for another prescription if I needed it. Because thats a great use of emergency resources. /sarcasm)So onto the meat of the review:I saw Gabrielle. Of all of the psychiatrists Ive seen shes the only one that has had two brain cells to rub together. Unfortunately while knowledgeable she was inflexible, which I could have managed if she didnt also treat me like a liar. When I explained my chronic fatigue had gotten so bad I was having trouble just waking up in the morning and couldnt get out of bed (Id be struggling to not pass back out even after a full nights sleep) she just told me to try harder. Oh yes Gabrielle, I should just try harder to not have health problems. Brilliant, hadnt tried that.I also once saw the other guy. He was the most useless person Ive met in a while. The office forgot/rescheduled my appointment, so when I arrived on time I had to first prove that I was on time because the front desk blew me off (I had to show them my appointment card to get them to believe me) they had me talk to him briefly about some concerns I had.He just sat there, impassively, refusing to indicate whether or not what was going on was a problem. I just wanted to know if I needed to go to my PCP or not. That was too hard for him. I had been waiting at their office for over an hour to talk to a guy who just wasted my time.Oh and bonus points: part way through our appointment someone stopped by to let him know Gabrielle had some time and could take over. But he just waved them off, saying he had it handled. I got my questions answered when the staff called after having talked to Gabrielle. It took five minutes. I was there for hours.Bottom line this is not a place you want to go, but if you have no choice its better than being perpetually sick and/or dying. The front office staff are nice at least. But no matter why youre coming in this clinic will treat you like an addict/liar/criminal. It rapidly became clear to me during my time here that by default my provider seemed to assume that I was somehow being dishonest or incompetent whenever I brought up an issue. Which is incredibly counter-productive to, you know, diagnosis and treatment.Gabrielle could be a good provider. But her people skills are lacking and to be frank trying to trust a provider that clearly doesnt trust me made me feel unsafe. Shes also the kind of provider who is more interested in correcting whatever is wrong with a patient rather than helping the patient through treatment to have a life. Patient well-being should be the first target, and it clearly wasnt in my case. (Or my wife, who also tried coming here. At least she had the sense to leave sooner rather than later.)

I had been going to this clinic for over a year. From the beginning I was up front about my situation with my insurance. I was going through a divorce and that my health insurance would end soon. The Dr. Silas said no problem at all! When the time comes we will call you in a month or two while you wait to get in toanother clinic. He said they do this a lot for patients. Everything was wonderful until the main Dr left. I had met with Tim once and that was like talking to a wall! I have no clue how he is still in the field at all! Jennifer was very nice but did not follow through with her word. I also suffer from bi polar 2 disorder and had been seeing a wonderful psychiatrist for years and my meds were stable. Jennifer informed me that seriquel is a drug people are using to get loaded and made me feel so guilty for being on it that I just stopped. I had one of the worst manic episodes I had ever had as a result her telling me my phyc med was bad. My situation could have ended up a lot worse. You need to pay close attention to their billing as well! . That is a whole other issue. I am so disappointed Bc I loved this place! The people were wonderful and I Truly believed that they cared but unfortunately it is all about money and once you do not have insurance they do not care about you. Dr Silus was always wonderful however after he left the clinic it went downhill fast !

Ive been seeing Dr. Simus for over 2 years now, when it was just a 2 person operation. The center now has more front office help, and more health providers, but hasnt lost the personal and caring touch that Dr. Simus demonstrated from the beginning. Hes very personable, and you can tell that his patients are comfortable with his care. The front office is knowledgeable and efficient. I have a drive of 1 1/2 hours, and the staff has always been so helpful with scheduling and making this issue is as hassle-free as possible. The medical assistants (especially Maddy) have an excellent grasp of the ever-changing health insurance challenges. My prescriptions are always called in quickly, without issue - and if there ever is a glitch, a quick phone call remedies the problem without an eternity on hold. If a prior-auth is needed, Maddy is on top of it without being asked.Ive seen and worked with a LOT of doctors and hospitals (I have 3 kids, one special-needs) and Ive seen and dealt with egos and personality conflicts in the front office and back. The Center of Excellence is top notch in every way. You wont find a friendlier, caring person than Jackie to help get you settled in and on your way to wellness. The whole staff is excellent, and I cant recommend them enough.

Very unprofessional & unorganized. I was told Id get a call before my appt telling me exactly what my co-pay is. Three days later I went in for my appointment. A man sat in a room asking me questions with no feedback or acknowledgment. When it was time to go he said hed have to finish the questions next time. I made a 2nd appt at the desk & went home. Two days later I got a phone call telling me that they dont accept my insurance but they talked my insurance into covering the one visit. Id have to find another place to go - no recommendations, nothing. When I got the statement it said they had billed my insurance for $400 & my co pay was $30. Co pay for what? The description was Psych Diagnostic Eval with medical services. Thats crazy. Nobody gave me anything but now that theyve wasted my time they demand I give them the co-pay for a visit I received no benefit from & theyve received payment from my insurance for services I didnt receive. Im sure glad I wasnt in a crisis.
