Loving the Friday morning H.I.I.T class with Karshina. A great way to begin my day.

I made this gym my home gym even though its all the way across town. Its very low population so theres plenty of machines opened for our usage. The ladies involved in the child care are always very kind, courteous, vivacious and we appreciate them watching our 4-month infant son while we catch a good workout. We love the other locations but theyre just so busy during the rush hours its hard to get the machine that we want. If for some reason the CB Pennington location is closed we might just withdrawal our membership. Thank you CB Pennington employees. Thank you all YMC employees for maintaining such a cleanly positive environment.

The lady at the front desk by the name of Mary was extremely disrespectful! I was trying to get connected to childcare and she had me on hold for 10 to 15 minutes just to come back to take me off hold and say she was talking to a man by the name of John wick like seriously thats a movie we know thats a movie like are you kidding me then hung up in my face! I called back three times she wouldnt pick up so I had to call back from another number this company is so unprofessional like Im just very disappointed!

I have.belonged to the Ymca for over 25 years and I love it. The staff and trainers are amazing and always helpful. I have made life long friends with other people who use the facility. The workouts I do have help to keep my bone density at a above National level and at my age that is very important. Give It a try

Love this YMCA! I have never wanted to join a workout club. When pushed by my husband, I reluctantly agreed with not much hope. Now, I’m addicted to it!Love the staff members especially at C B Pennington! Personable, professional and knowledgeable!

The Y is one of my most favorite places to be! My husband and I have lost 190lbs combined and we couldnt have done it without the Y. The friendly staff and knowledgeable class instructors make losing weight and getting healthy...FUN!!!🏋🏽‍♀️🙌🏾💕

I furious and very upset at the announcement that the indoor pool is being closed. That pool is the reason i pay dues to the YMCA. As a Senior, I could take advantage of FREE membership at several other health centers.In my opinion, the indoor pool at this branch is the nicest of all the Ys pools.There is no other like it. The YMCA, its board and administration should be ashamed as the fiscal mismanagement that caused this closure. Continuing to build new facilities instead of maintaining this superb pool is wrong in so many ways! I will drop my membership.

I really enjoy this YMCA. Its smaller but easier to get around. The pool is amazing, the gym has all the equipment I need, and the staff is so nice and approachable.

I really like the light and low aerobics class on MWF mornings. The teacher is nice and the other class members are nice too. I now work on weight training with Sam. I am getting stronger. This is a great place with pros and cons. One of the cons is that the staff st YMCA lets people in without even swiping their card. Me - I pay. I swipe. I enjoy! People - I enjoy for free!I also wonder how old my child has to be to use the gym.

The US Masters team is amazing!!!! The coach is amazing also! If you can’t swim, he’ll have you challenging Michael Phelps in a year... you won’t win, but it’s still gonna be fun!!! We went from swimming 500 yards an hour to over a mile in less 4 months.Lots of fun!!!!

My review was 5 stars until I learned they wouldnt be opening the indoor pool. The best pool in the area with a kid pool and hot tub, will be sitting closed all winter. Super disappointing.

I really only use the pool currently but the entire staff is friendly and work hard to resolve any issues I’ve had. The lifeguArds are professional and caring about the folks swimming. I would encourage anyone to join and use these facilities.

Fantastic experience!!! Very affordable with several great locations in EBR Parish.Swim instructors are knowledgeable, patient, and professional. Having certified lifeguards on duty during swim lessons and open swim gives me and my family additional peace of mind. So many diffrent programs to choose from! My kids ages 5 to 15 enjoy swim team, swim lessons, soccer, basketball, and summer camp.

I love the group exercise classes and child care provided for them. My daughter loves KidsFit, and we enjoy that the indoor pool is open year round.

C B Pennington Jr is a wonderful YMCA. Staff members greet you with a smile & an encouraging word.Each staff member and Instructor I have met will help you in any way they possibly can. They encourage their members, they will suggest modifications to an excerise, etc.I have found members are very friendly. When you are not excerising you can always find a small group or a larger group to visit with.A review from me giving the Y 3 starswasnt a review. It was me pressing the wrong button.I am giving my review of Pennington YMCA, 4 stars only because it is still struggling with repairs after the flood. But I do feel it could be a 5 as members affected by the flood, return.

Into our 4th season, all have been great experiences. Skills and fundamentals taught, sportsmanship always encouraged and we appreciate the prayers before games.

Great place to excersise and meet friends. If you need a trainer ask for Daniel he helps me tremendously.

Theyre still remodeling. Steam room and the spa(hot tub)steam room and hot tub is not open.

Get there at any age keep those joints moving—love that the Bible is open on counter and bible verse written, you can get spiritual food for your soul and work at the physical—the physical it profits little but the little it does physically shows—-

I love this YMCA! All the staff is super friendly! The classes for really fun and a great workout!

I wish the lifeguards and staff were as concerned about actually watching the children in the pool as they are about socializing. Saturday, 5/19, there was a young African American female on duty. While in the lifeguard chair, instead of watching the people in the pool, she was laughing and cutting up with a YMCA employee (a young man wearing a blue ymca staff shirt) who was standing next to the lifeguard chair, as well as 2 male patrons (teens or young 20s) who were in the pool at the base of the lifeguard chair talking to her. At one point she even took her large water bottle and playfully poured water into the pool onto the males. This is certainly not professional conduct, and it most definitely would be dangerous to entrust such employees with safeguarding children.Also, when I came here to leave this review, I read the previous review about not having to show a card to get into the pool. We have only ever been carded once to go swimming, and that was because I offered them my card and asked weren’t they supposed to scan us in. With all of the people meandering on the property for sporting events, there is nothing keeping someone from just walking in and using the facilities. The security here is non-existent and alarming.

This YMCA branch is a little out of my way, but I like the indoor elevated track. I go when traffic allows me to get over there without getting trapped on that side of town. The weight room and cardio area is spacious and the equipment is mostly in good shape. They could use some fans in the weight room and cardio area. The locker room is abysmal. Plastic lawn chairs in the locker room? Spend some of those monthly dues on updating this. One benefit though is that the swimming pool area has its own locker room (I think). Swimmers dont soak the floors in the gym locker room. The place could use a good cleaning up.

It was very good but the councelers make children do plank and pushups as punishment

The experience has been great for my 3yr old granddaughter whos taking swimming lessons.

I went to the summer camp here when I was nine years old and it was the most traumatic experience I have ever had. There were countless bullies that were just pure evil towards me. In addition, the counselors there hardly noticed or even cared that there was constant bullying going on. Things have probably changed by now, since this was in 2010, but this was my experience when I was there.

Such a wonderful place to meet friends and get healthy together.

I dont trust their lifeguards with my childs life. We get there at the pool and they were blasting the music so loud that I couldnt hear myself think. Locker room is filthy dirty. Pool hours were confusing. Got out of membership. Will not recommend to a friend.
