My 83 year old mother has been in the ER there 4 times in the past 12 days. Non Covid related. After the 3rd visit, it was obvious that she needed to be hospitalized. We were informed that the only beds available were for potential Covid patients. So they doped her up with morphine & then gave her Ativan so she’d rest. While she was still unconscious from these meds, they released her & called paramedics to remove her from the ER and transport her back to her apartment - where she lives alone. We watched as they lifted her from the bed and plopped her into a wheelchair, where she sat, slumped over off the side of it, still incoherent & non responsive to their commands to wake up. If we were not there to stop them, she would have been sent home & dumped on her on. The Dr decided after all this to let her stay & “sleep off” the meds. 12 hours later, we were able to safely take her home. This place is pathetic and has no regard for elderly patients. Fortunately, we were able to then take her to St Francis, where she was admitted and being treated.

Took my 18 month old son here who has pneumonia and was left sitting in waiting room while my son was running a 103 degree fever for hours with no Information on when or even if they would be seeing my son. This place does not care about you as a person or a patient because if they did their care would be better and the waiting would not be 10 hours long just to see a doctor. Or they just really dont know what they are doing and are grasping at straws hoping they get it right.. what a joke, I would recommend tulsa or even a small town Kansas ER because at least they know what they are doing.

And kicked me out. Now no one is sitting with her. Shes alone because of covid policy and a power tripping male nurse. If I knew his name, I would include it. He was sure to keep his name tag covered. I reccomend all avoid this stain on the healthcare industry. If you have any serious problems avoid jane Phillips medical center. They gave me a boot and some papers about sprained feet. Never said how long to leave the boot on or anything. They were super busy. I go here often. Kids tend to get super sick during non pediatrician business hours. They are good with kids but I always follow up with their dr because sometimes they miss things. But its a good place for non emergencies that cant wait. Of course I called my actual doctor but being able to get an xray and results fast made it worth it!

I went in when I was 8 weeks pregnant for cramping and bleeding. They were quick to get me into the room and the nurse was very nice. The doctor however was very short and rude and told me from the beginning she didn’t believe I was pregnant although I had two positive tests the week before. They did a test and blood test and both came back negative and she told me she didn’t know how I got two positives and kept telling me I was having a regular period and looked to my husband and asked if I had any suicidal thoughts any mental issues. I mentioned a possible chemical pregnancy and she left the room and came back and informed me I may have had a chemical pregnancy which leads me to believe she didn’t know what one was until I mentioned it to her. They sent me home with post care instructions including a 10 page booklet titled “Understanding Your Regular Period”. My husband and I were livid. After discussion with other nurses we did discover I had a chemical pregnancy. Most people in Bartlesville will tell you “If you need anything more then a stitch or it’s baby related, go to another hospital.” Just save yourself some time and money and start with another hospital.

I contacted customer support to get some justice for my Mom being robbed and all I was told was that Jane Phillips Medical Center isnt responsible for missing items. Shed had that ring since before I was born, and Im 19.Jane Phillips Medical Center, you ARE RESPONSIBLE for her ring getting stolen, she was under your care and you should be held responsible. If I could give less than one star for the ER treatment (or lack thereof) of my mother 2 and 1/2 weeks ago, I would. She is almost 92, had sudden extreme back pain a couple of days before and then developed profound weekness. She slid out of her chair onto the floor and was there for 12 hours overnight because she couldn’t get up due to the pain and weakness. She was taken to the ER and, despite her blood work showing she either was suffering some kind of heart event or had suffered something in the days leading up to this, was not admitted to the hospital despite the recommendation of the medical team and her having a life-threatening situation. She was confused, scared, and in pain, and the ER basically coerced her into signing release papers because they heard her say she wanted to go home. They had 3 people pushing her to sign. Of COURSE she wanted to go home — no one WANTS to go to the hospital. But it is your job to explain so she understood that sending her home would put her lifel in danger. There is no doubt in my mind this is about money because she is a Medicare patient. Now, not only did the ER jeopardize her safety by sending her home, you did not listen to her or my sister who called you to explain her pain was not BECAUSE of being on the floor all night, but that she was on the floor all night BECAUSE of the pain, you did not do a follow-up blood test after giving IV treatment, you didn’t have a full-fledged physician examine her, and you went against medical advice to send her home. This was clear negligence and it’s unconscionable.

I am native to Bartlesville, so the lack of care that was provided this morning is disgusting. I went to Baileys in Owasso, was seen immediately and given a pain reliever within 15 minutes. After a meeting with the staff of where we could take her because my parents were not able to take care if her. They had told us there was no place that would take a person with active TB. I asked the doctor and hospital social worker what they would do with a homeless person with active TB. You know what they said! They would turn that person out on the streets with no where to go. A person with active TB has to take meds on a daily basis for a year or more. The health department are the ones to deliver those meds. If they can not find that person guess what!!! They pass this infectious disease on to other people then we have an epidemic. Worst hospital ever!!!!!

Mt daughter had her baby there. He was three and a half weeks early and she had an emergency c-section. They took very good care of both my daughter and grandson after the c-section. He had to be under oxygen for the first 24 hours or so then was brought to her room. My one complaint is with their lactation consulting. My granson had a lot of trouble latching on and we recieved no help aside from the consultant coming in, showing my daughter how to use the breast pump and sort of assisting her in trying to get him to latch on. She was there maybe 20 minutes and we never saw her again. The second day we were there she was getting more and more frustrated, the baby was barely nursing, so I finally went and tracked down another consultant who came in and spent some time with my daughter. We ended up with this elaborate feeding tube type system to try and get him to latch on to the breast. She left and we never saw her again either. The next day we left with the baby still not nursing well. My daughter ended up with mastitis and after about two weeks finally started him on the bottle. I blame the hospital for not working with us and not making sure the baby was nursing well when they discharged them. They never followed up at all. My advice if youre a first time mom and have any trouble with nursing make a nuisance of yourself until you get the help you need. I wish we had.

I went to Dr. Bakers office, but he retired , even retired from SURGERY! I use to work for him 22 yrs. Ago, I was his surgery nurse( they call them scrub nurses) , I dont like the term. It comes from scrubbing in with them, which takes a very lot of time and scrubbing in for any surfery!. He has retired due to a condition he inherited from his Dad. I knew his Dad, Mom, Wife & 2 girls- close to my own sons age. The condition is Parkinsons, I had hoped that he would not ever get it. He was so much better than any opthlamologist surgeon & or eye Dr. I have ever seen or been to, or worked for. I worked for him 4 yrs. Or longer. Which working for him I had to take yearly tests for JP( owned by St. Johns ) now. BY JPs surgery rules. He does not workthere, I was disappointed and may end up calling him at home to see what he thinks. Not because Im totally unhappy with a DO whose anoptometrist, who I have to add is a specialist in eye diseases. The eye is a language of ownits own, I had to read a whole book, learn so much about a subject, and go to a ophthalmology tech. School. Even though I was a nurse. He had about 2- 3 nurses, and techs, and nurse assist- one who became a tech. Do you want to know why I went? Ok its scary. I thought I was having a retinal detachment. For those who dont know anything about this its so bad you can loose your sight, thsts why you should go and find out if you have any or more of these SX(symtoms),. Look them up. There is a common one that when youre young you get black dots you see. Its called your vitreous. After you turn a certain age your eyes dont need it anymore. And you can often see them, please dont take my word for it, for things do change. Go to an eye Dr to be sure. That was my problem, but they are just keeping an eye on it (lol) but not funny. My Dr.s office has 2 ophthalmologist surgeons also. I just dont like to go. Nurses & Doctors make the worse patients only because we know what theyre going to do to us. But we still have to go of course. Thats it.If you want to know where I normally go is Claremore Reg. ( owned now by Hillcrest). I know most of them the there. And Hillcrest in Tulsa, worked for St. Johns & Hillcrest. Cant tell you my opinion due to circumstances. Most of you know exactly what Im not saying. Thats it hope for the best and it goes away. 6/3/19 updateWe were billed $5609.37 for a portion of the bill on 12/18. Then 6/3/19 after insurance adjustments we were sent a bill for $5720.20 for the same services. No reason given and when I called for the reason they refused to answer. How do we keep allowing this company tax exempt status. After ST John’s took over the cost for same medical care tripled in less than 3 years. Additionally, there is no local management in Bartlesville to speak with if there is an issue. We were charged various fees never consented to, charges on a date we weren’t even in the hospital, and private room prices when there are no semi private rooms.Additionally costs for underinsured high deductible patients are overcharged 300-5000% higher than national averages. They also favor reduced prices for insurance companies vs underinsured patients. For example, an over the counter iron supplement costs $.09 at CVS. St. John’s marked this up 5000% on our bill.We reviewed an itemized bill with an attorney to find every service we were billed to be at least double the national average, services never rendered, and billed services for dates we were not in the hospital. The hospital response, too bad, pay the bill. Here’s how you will deal with St. John without local management. You must speak to a call agent in Tulsa that refuses to deviate from a script. After the call went unresolved they will notate a supervisor will call you. This never occurred. After a second call to the supervisor they refused to tell us how to dispute charges, who to talk to in order to escalate the issue, or eliminate charges that occurred on a different date. The only way to change the bill is legal action.Keep this in mind when you go to the hospital. Ask for the price ahead of time. Get it in writing. Ask for the insurance price ahead of time. Bring your own over the counter drugs. Don’t consent to unnecessary tests etcAlso keep in mind they can’t charge 1.5% interest on medical bills but will illegally include this on their bills even without disclosing the rate or terms prior to services.

And when I confronted her about it, she had another nurse in there with her and she Kept asking that nurse is that what I said and of course the nurse said no. So not only does this doctor make people feel bad for needing help, she cant even speak to her patients without having a nurse behind her to back her up like little dramatic teenagers. Worst doctor ever. However, I do like the other doctors that work in the ER. They are kind and actually care where as Dr. Foust assumes everybody who is in pain are junkies. She has no sympathy for her patients. Shes disrespectful and just a horrible doctor.

I am done with this hospital and any hospital affiliated with St. John Clinic. The billing office screwed up two bills in a row leading to thousands in extra charges and legal action. Absolutely ridiculous.
