I have been a customer here now for about 4 years and I absolutely love coming here. The entire staff is friendly, professional, and truly do the best job around. Cassie is who I have been going to for about a year now and she does great work! I’ve switched up styles a few times and she always has great input, and when it’s all done it looks great too! If you’re looking for a great place for a haircut, shave, wax etc. don’t go anywhere else. You won’t be disappointed!

So this was the first time I had been here myself, as Ive taken our kids to get haircuts here before and loved the idea of being given alcohol while waiting. Easy to schedule visits, especially with the application that you can download. They also have profiles of employees on their website, which helps to decide who you want cutting your hair. I had no issues with the actual service, as my hairdresser took the time to discuss with me what I wanted and tried two different styles and addressed what I was concerned about, how long it would take to acheive the look and thinking hair. She even took the time to show me how to comb my hair with the new style and gave me some helpful pointers about hair care in general. The scalp massage and hot stone massage were awesome, but shorter in time then the one I used to get at sportclips. The only reason I didnt get a five stars review was because the price was higher then other salons and because they never once offered me a beverage. Ill probably go back, because its convenient and the haircut was great. Just wish I had been offered a beverage like when I went with my kids.

My hair matters to me which was a big deal when we 1) moved and 2) my long-time hair stylist decided to move out of Chicagoland. I called for an appointment and got booked with Tiffany. It was an outstanding experience -- the quality of the haircut is outstanding but more than that, the entire experience was first-rate. This is a very good shop that I strongly endorse. I have not received any compensation for this review.

Very professionally run and the stylists are fantastic. Consistently great services. They are nearly always on time and if there is a wait, they have refreshments (including beer) to make the wait better. Appointments can be made online and e-mail/text messages are sent as reminders. Stylist prices based on experience and can vary considerably but they are all very capable.

While safety is maintained, the services and staff meet or exceed the most demanding expectations. My second visit with Emily was every bit as professional, personable, and relaxing as my first experience. Highly recommend 18/8 in Barrington.

I finally decided to try give 18/8 a try after hearing/reading so many great reviews. I even committed to a membership prior to my first visit and very glad I did. My first visit was awesome! Sarah greeted me at the front desk and checked me in for my scheduled appt. She was extremely professional, courteous and knowledgable. My appt for an Executive Haircut and Executive Shave with Emily started right on time. Emily is fantastic!! She also was extrememly professional, courteous and knowledgable. She explained the entire process to me and answered all the questions and concerns I had. As for the haircut and shave, Emily listened to what I wanted, made some suggestions and provided me with a perfect haircut and shave!! I was completely relaxed and felt confident with Emily. Shes like a surgeon!!! 100% satisfied with my experience!! At checkout, Sarah took the time to help schedule me for future appts that work for my schedule.I could not have asked for any better service! Im looking forward to going back, as well as trying additional services. Every man in the area should go here!

Nice staff but I do not recommend a beard trim. Fairly overpriced, and received a very strange sideburn trim during a beard trim which I need to find another stylist to fix now.

Being in the area for over 6 years and I made my maiden visit recently. The checkin process was seamless. The crew are true professionals and you can make out the difference in knowledge and understanding they have about hair and scalp care.

I needed a new stylist as my previous stylist closed up during the lockdown. I actually tried a couple of other places before settling on 18/8, and I must say that my cut is by far so much better than the others that I tried. My stylist (Ashtyn) is super-professional. She listens, makes suggestions and talks me thru the process. The shop is well run, VERY clean and very safe. Though Im paying a bit more than those chain shops, the value is totally worth it.

Kristina is a world class person and not bad stylist to boot. With Covid I waited a year to have her cut my Covid mane back to reality. First class operation and they bend over backwards to provide a safe environment

Love this place...my stylist is awesome...Im sure they all are...they are all highly qualified and trained...very friendly...I always book in advance because they are in demand...cant think of going anywhere else!!!

The haircut was good however it is expensive I believed that a student haircut would have given me a discount since it is priced a little lower on their website. In total with tip was $72. I think I would’ve have been better off going somewhere else. I usually went to the Schaumburg location before it closed, wish it was still open.

I wouldn’t trust anyone with my hair other than Ashtyn at 18|8 Barrington. The staff is very courteous and the location is very clean.

I’ve been here four times now and I had to switch barbers. They charge a lot of money and you expect them to do the job right only to get home to find out that things you paid for were missed. Overall, the atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. The stylists seem to be pleasant and there are many options that you can choose from. Actually working on getting back there again with my new stylist who seems to be doing a really good job.

Got treated to a haircut and straight razor shave. Overall it was a decent experience but not off the charts. I like the neck massage with the haircut and the straight razor was decent although my former barber was much better. They try very hard by seem to miss a little.

From Mac, aged 7:I recommend Master and Young Master because one reason is they offer you drinks. For example, Gatorade, beer and other stuff🍹 . Another reason is they also let you watch TV while youre waiting. For example, sports. And they give you mints on your way out. Ill rate this place 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️NOTE: when I asked Mac why he did not mention his favorite stylist, Christina, in his review, he said he wants to keep her a secret so he can have her all to himself. 😍

Another great visit to 18/8 Barrington. I went in for my usual clean-up and beard trim with Stephanie and I look and feel great. I expect nothing but to look my best and Stephanie and 18/8 always delivers. I have been on a membership with 18/8 since January and it has been the best investment.

Phenomenal service and a great place to get a shave. I just got out of my first appointment and i couldnt be happier. Liz did an excellent job and got me lined up just in time for a wedding today.

Tried this place out last week and not likely to return. It took a long time. It was very expensive. And I got told all the reasons why it was not appropriate for me to have my hair cut the way that I requested ( I prefer a number 2 guard on the back and sides along with the top cut finger length short with scissors and Upon finishing I need my hair thinned out because its very thick) Im a 33 year old professional. I wont mention names but she refused to cut the top with scissors. And she refused to thin my hair. I did not get a number 2 guard on the sides or back. She decided to cut it the length she wanted to without using a guard and it is not even. Hope you have a better experience than I did

Ive been trying several different barbers and stylists the past couple of months since I started growing my hair back out. I had heard good things about this place after having 2 poor experiences at a local barber in Huntley.I went and saw Erica on Saturday the 29th. Overall, this experience was awesome. I had been growing my hair out for about 2.5 months and was only getting a fade from a local barber. At this point, I needed the top cut finally, but had no idea what to do. I had been shaving my head for 10 years, so I wasnt sure where to begin with a thick head of hair. Erica consulted with me and worked out the best options for my hair. She also showed me how style the hair and what products I should be using. Finally, I had her line up my beard, of which was amazing. I had been growing my beard without shaving at all for just over a month and it was a mess. She did an excellent job cleaning me up! I bought the Executive Service, and while all the amenities are nice, Ive realized they really arent necessary for me.-1 star for the price. Its not cheap, especially when you request a Master Stylist. I get my haircut every 3 weeks and to cough up that amount of money each week is too expensive for me.TLDR; Highly recommended and an awesome experience, if you can afford it. I may go back every-so-often. Well see.
