My grandmother was placed in this facility after surgery to receive some advanced care for a few weeks before going home. After only one day, we brought her home because both the facility and the care were nowhere near what was promised. There was chipped paint on every wall in her room, she had no chair to sit in to suit her needs, there was mold on the paneling, and the food was extremely cheap/tasteless. As for the staff, some nurses were lovely while others refused to provide the basic care and equipment that she needed. Less that 24 hours after being admitted, she was handed paperwork to grant them access to her bank accounts. I highly recommend that you utilize any other options possible before putting a loved one in this facility. If there is no other option, please visit regularly to see that their needs are being met.

Recently moved my dad to this facility. So far have found the admissions staff, financial office staff, nursing staff, and therapists to be devoted to giving him the best possible care. They are attentive to his needs, care about his health, and are always willing to listen to my questions and concerns.

Spare your loved one!!!! Do NOT utilize this facility! The ratings for Berlin Health & Rehabilitation Center are so very accurate. I took them into account and then visited the facility and specifically asked the director during the tour about the poor rating. The woman then explained to me that they have been through a transition and that the staff and nurses were not doing things they should have been doing at the time. We gave the facility a chance and the benefit of the doubt only to be met with EXTREME disappointment! This place is a complete nightmare. The FIRST night our grandfather dealt with humiliation, disrespect, he was severely under minded, and the staff had a complete disregard for his needs. The have a horrible attitude there. The only positive thing Is the nurse he had during the day.I cannot imagine what the people that cannot speak or have a physical disability, do not have an advocate, or cannot care for themselves go through on a daily basis in this facility. Our grandfather CAN speak for himself and care for himself and was treated so poorly. Im only thankful that he could tell us some of the things that were going on there and we could also speak on his behalf.

My mother-in-law was a resident of Rowan Court for more than five years. Overall, she received good care. However, when she recently passed away in the hospital, we contacted Rowan Court to say we would be in the next day to clean out her belongings. When we arrived, someone else had already moved into her room. No one seemed to know where her belongings had been moved to. When they were finally located, we were dismayed to see that her clothing, letters, photos, crucifix etc had been carelessly dumped into garbage bags near their loading dock. This was very upsetting. Additionally, all of the framed family photographs had been removed from the wall of her room and no one knew where they were. My husband expressed his outrage to the current administrator, who merely rolled his eyes in response. It is unfortunate that the end of my mother-in-laws life was treated with such disrespect but more unfortunate that the head administrator could have mitigated the damage by just apologizing. Instead, however, he chose to remain defensively silent. He sets the tone for his organization and this too also unfortunate.

We had to move my grandfather here after we could no longer care for him ourselfs. I must say we are trying tirelessly to get him out! The place is very under staffed, extremely dirty, and the food is hardly food at all.
