The skill at this office is phenomenal. My case is very difficult and required surgery prior to ortho treatment. Both Dr. Mattingly and Dr.Howell are working side by side with my general dentist to gain a great outcome. I still have a way to go but can’t brag on them enough from getting me to a wonderful oral surgeon from day one to get started. And there’s not enough characters left to say how great the entire team is! Appreciate them so much.

I love all the staff and Dr. Howell and Dr. Mattingly. They always answer my questions no matter how silly they are to them. They are amazing about appointments and are always on time. My daughter and my son both got braces there and that was years ago and they were great then too. Definitely the best orthodontists around!

The staff at this office have made the Invisalign experience so simple. They have been very courteous even through the pandemic with all of the extra protocols. We will return when our next kid needs orthodontic care.

My son, Donovan, is a patient at the Bardstown office and loves it. He was 8 when he got his braces. They did a great job of calming his concerns. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Amie worked on his braces last and she was very patient and gentle. She even allowed his little brother to look on and ask questions about what he saw. They do a great job at keeping appointments on time and answering questions that I have had along the way.

As an adult patient in orthodontic care, I can say that the staff and the doctors at Mattingly & Howell Orthodontics have treated me with the utmost respect and care. This was our first time at the orthodontics office and we really enjoyed our services. The staff and doctor was very friendly and even though my child was nervous about being there she was handled with great care. Looking forward to working with such a great team.

I initially went to Mattingly and Howell hoping to be a good candidate for braces to improve my smile and bite. The additional benefits that came with it were an unexpected improvement in my health. I can’t thank them enough!The initial consultation was very thorough. During this, it was explained that I would be a good candidate for jaw surgery because my lower jaw was small and under-developed. It was something to think about doing later. I was not too excited about the thought of surgery. Braces were placed. Adjustments were made. I could see a significant improvement in my alignment, however my “small jaw” was obviously not proportional. With each adjustment, we would discuss the possibility of surgery, and it’s risks and benefits. Mentioned was a “cure” or significant improvement in sleep apnea. Having this problem is what eventually led to the decision to have the jaw surgery. Approximately 14 months after my braces were applied, I had upper and lower jaw surgery with a highly skilled oral surgeon at the University of Louisville. After 2 weeks, I became aware that the sleep apnea was gone! Also, the general airway obstruction problems I had been experiencing for at least 10 years were gone as well! I was being treated for exercise-induced asthma (The inhaler made no change). I also took a daily medication for allergies (No change). My thyroid was scanned (The scan was normal). I gave up and accepted that I would struggle sometimes with my breathing. THIS IS NO LONGER AN ISSUE!Thanks to the individualized care I received from Mattingly and Howell and the entire staff, I was able to make an informed decision that has improved my health. The whole group is professional, caring, and excellent at what they do. My profile looks great. I can’t wait to get my braces off soon to put it all together. My smile is already better than I ever imagined. To say I recommend Mattingly and Howell is an understatement! Thank you!

My son was very apprehensive about going to see Mattingly & Howell Orthodontics because he had just had a very rough recovery from oral surgery. He is 8 years old and a goalie and did not want braces. They easily and quickly calmed his nerves, explained he did not need braces like we anticipated right now and he just needed to come back in six months! it was a wonderful experience and now he does not mind having to go to the dentist or going back to the orthodontist in 6 months.

Though having orthodontic work may not always feel pleasant, the staff at Mattingly & Howell Orthodontics made the experience as comfortable as possible for my daughter, Elizabeth. We have always been pleased with the kind, courteous and professional treatment our daughter received when visiting the Bardstown office. The photos taken at the end of my daughters treatment contrast dramatically with the photos taken prior to treatment. Thank you so much for giving our Elizabeth such a beautiful smile.

I love this office and all of the staff and doctors here! I have not had one unpleasant appointment, from the day I first walked in. The staff is wonderful--they willingly watch my toddler if I need to bring her along to appointments, they are always friendly, and they accommodate me if I need a last minute appointment change. I am more than halfway through my invisalign treatment and I have been so happy with my results. I know when my daughter is older she will most likely need braces and I plan on taking her here!

I have two sons who have been patients of the Bardstown Office, this office runs like a well-oiled machine. The doctors and staff are very professional and super nice, I have logged close to 100 office visits with Mattingly & Howell over the last 10 years; Ive called to get appointments changed to adapt to my sons’ schedules and I can’t think of a time when I got off the phone that I didn’t think “that was easy or that was painless”. I have met the doctors and staff outside the office and they are same friendly people they are in the office, always say hi and ask about “my boys”.

We simply cant say enough about Dr Chris Mattingly and Dr Chris Howell and the whole staff......We really have had a great experience and our son Andrew who had a severe underbite, is looking so much better. Andrew is a talker and loves to talk to the DMDs and the hygienists (sometimes a little too much) but the staff is so friendly its so hard not to talk to them. I hope my daughter doesnt need braces but if she does we will most definitely not hesitate to go there as well. Andrew has made great strides but the staff here has much more work on Andrew will be be seeing them for a while longer. If anyone saw the results of him, they would be amazed, we are!!

I have been under treatment at Mattingly and Howell Orthodontics, Bardstown Office, for 19 Months and they are very professional and friendly. As an adult I dreaded the process of braces but they have made it a fun and pleasant Experience. I am very happy thus far with my treatment. We were so happy with our experience at Mattingly & Howell in Bardstown during our daughter, Candices treatment that we never gave another practice a thought for our son, Addisons treatment! Everyone in the office is friendly and they take time getting to know the patient. Dr. Chris Mattingly is who my kids seen most often and he would always take time after the appointment to chat with me about my childs progress as well as a friendly catch up moment with our family. The office is very clean, they provide a small play area for little ones, and the office design is open for you to see the orthodontic work taking place. The practice is ran very efficiently! When you make your appointment they can tell you approximately how long the appointment should take and I cant think of a single time they were wrong within our 6+ years of appointments with them. Lastly, the wait time in office after sign in is usually less than 10 minutes. They quickly call the patient back and get started on treatment, unlike other offices that claim you have little wait time only to call you into another area to wait again. I honestly can not think of anything negative to list about Bardstowns Mattingly and Howell Orthodontics!
