The location can’t be beat, it’s a short walk to town yet far enough to be very quiet at night. We were in a dog friendly annex room which was tastefully remodeled and very clean and comfortable. This was a great place for us to stay while bringing our dog along and I am glad that we did as the town of Bar Harbor is very dog friendly. The room our daughter had in the main building hasn’t been remodeled recently but it was still very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There isn’t daily room service currently because of COVID but you can get anything you need from the front desk including complimentary coffee. We will definitely stay here again.

Loved this property! Great location, a few blocks from the main st., very walkable. Very reasonable rates. Dog friendly. Very clean rooms. It was great to stay in a very nice, comfortable room, that was also dog friendly. It was a cold night and there was plenty of warm fuzzy blankets. And a refrigerator in the room which was extremely helpful. Staff was wonderful and very attentive. Had an issue with the door lock and it was taken care of by the owner immediately. Check in and check out was a breeze. Great tea/coffee set up in lobby too. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to go back.

Other than not having an elevator for the 2nd and 3rd floors, this place was excellent! Beautiful room, and everything was clean and worked great. If you love the older style inns but with upgrades to make it more comfortable than youll love this place. Also location is great, right on Cottage st. you hardly have to use your car. The only downside is the extremely limited and tight parking. We always found a spot, but it was tight with no room for visitors or a small trailer etc.

I dont recommend this hotel at all. I met reception lady wasnt nice, and my wife and I couldnt sleep well with the loud noise of the front door(room 104). There is a most upsetting situation. It was very cold because the heating didnt work at all. The heating regulator did not work. It was 2am that I founded that the heating didnt work. I caught a runny nose next all day and my trip was interrupted. I never recommend this hotel.

Cant be happier with the dog suite we booked at the Quimby! It was clean, quiet and cozy. The hotel is also right next to the land bridge leading to bar island (which you should absolutely go check out), and just in front of a bike shop in case you fancy trying those beautiful carriage road in the national park. We had a tesla and were a bit worried about finding a place to charge, but the bar harbor inn parking was 5 minutes away and had 2 charging stations that were always available for us to use there. We arrived a little later than planned on the check-in night because we had to charge our car in bangor - but still in time to catch the staff at the front desk. She was in the middle of writing us a letter with all the instructions to the Wi-Fi and amenities just in case : ) which we thought was really sweet.

Poorly Managed Inn with Tired and Disgusting RoomsThe rooms are worn and disgusting!! Sunkenin bed, tired and dirty looking bedding withterrible room odor. Just appalling. Inn Keeper was not accountable for sorry state of rooms, refused to help with relocation and single handily ruinedour Acadia vacation that had been planned for over a year! As we could not find other lodging so last minute we had to go home early. Horrible place and poorly managed. Would NEVER recommend!

We were happy to find a pet-friendly place and understand that rooms designated for pets are not going to be a nice as standard rooms; however, upon arrival the room was 55 degrees. The door to the room leaked cold air, the walls between us and the next room were paper thin, and the room was extremely small. I will say that the person at the check in was very friendly, the room was definitely clean and the location was convenient. Overall, for one night it was fine and if traveling without a pet you would likely be in a much nicer room. I wouldnt rule it out, just be aware this is not high end.

Made a last minute reservation here when another hotel we were in proved to be a bad choice. Arrived and found out the last available pet friendly room was on the second floor. My 16 year old dog cant do stairs. I usually make sure we are on ground level when I make reservations but in all the stress, I forgot. They were so kind to let us out of the same-day reservation without a charge and were very understanding of the situation. It can be so rare to encounter kindness anymore that it just really made a horrible situation more tolerable.

Our family of 4 enjoyed the 5-night stay in October 2020. The rooms are clean and the sofa bed in #119 was comfortable. The location is great with gas station next door and supermarket across the street and all restaurants and shops within a 10 min walking distance. It is a very short drive to Acadia National Park and attractions. The housekeeper Mandy and her husband are very friendly and they were able to give us good suggestions on sightseeing and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for one night in Nov. 2020. The off season is still lovely in Bar Harbor and this is so conveniently located in the village, not far from the Bar Island sand bar and minutes from Acadia. The annex was perfect for our stay with our 2 dogs and the room was GREAT, clean, cozy, everything you need....and THAT bed, oh that bed. Only downfall was I couldnt get my brand new husband out of that bed to hike Acadia until much later than I wouldve liked. Truly loved this spot the most on our Maine elopement trip and were already planning to come back next year for our annivetsary.

Good desk service, clean rooms, and attentive housekeepers when you need fresh towels. We stayed in the off-season, so it was perhaps a bit less expensive than in August, but very affordable. The rooms were well kept, with comfortable beds and the usual hotel-style in-room amenities. A short walk to Bar Island, downtown Bar Harbor, and the waterfront. Did I mention the in-house massages and sauna? Its a unique place to stay in Bar Harbor and worth checking out.

LOVED that Quimby House was dog-friendly. We stayed in the Annex, and it felt like a small apartment! The doggie relief area was easy to access, and they had a trash can conveniently located for disposal of waste. We had a living room area, and kitchen with refrigerator, sink, stove, microwave, and seating area. We had a huge King-sized bed, and the mattress was nice and firm. My back was VERY happy about that! The tub was a little smaller than normal size, but it still did the job, and hot water came out quickly.

Lovely inn with a very friendly owner and staff. It was a splurge for us to stay here one night, but worth it. We stayed in the annex with our dog ($25 pet fee) in an updated, spacious and very clean room. It even had a kitchen sink, electric stove, cooking utensils, and dining table - great for longer stays. It felt like a small apartment with the bedroom separate from the living room. We were able to park right in front of the door and unload our belongings. There is also a grassy area for our dog to go. I wish we could’ve stayed here longer!

We stayed here for 3 nights, leaving on the 4th of July, 2018. Our room was larger than I expected, well laid out and very clean. The bathroom was also very clean and looked recently updated. The Wifi and mini-fridge worked great. The windows can be opened for fresh air or air conditioning is provided. The parking in back of the inn was also more than adequate - this is important because street parking is limited to 2 hours and public parking areas fill up fast during the busy tourist season. This place is on the edge of downtown, so it tends to be quieter at night, which was a nice plus. Everything was within walking distance (its probably a 10-12 minute walk down to the bay for the average person). The inn staff were all very friendly. We really have no complaints. If I had to nitpick Id say the keys were a slight pain to use, but once we understood exactly how they worked it was no issue. This was our first time staying in Bar Harbor and we cant wait to come back. I would highly recommend this place and we plan to stay here again in the future.

Rooms were simple, and it felt more like an AIRBNB than an Inn; more like someone’s spare bedroom. The kitchen suite was mostly useless aside from the microwave, but it was clean and the wine opener came in very handy.Couch was stained, bed was clean, shower pressure was amazing (like a pressure washer).Close walk to town and, for the price, we got what we paid for: access to beautiful vistas, hikes and rides in Acadia.

My fiance and I walk into the office and greet the woman at the front...her first words are...”dogs are not allowed on this building. One of you has to take him out and wait outside” i’ like what??? ”isn’t this a pet friendly hotel?”...she answers “yes, the annex”...i walk outside...and wait...we finally get the room...120...not only dark and old...but a horrible hard bed....the room has rules everywhere...from do the dishes and clean after yourselves to do not turn on the heat...i’m like..”didn’t I pay for this?” Horrible place. It is okay at best (around 10 megabits per second which is fine) but with constant dips to under one megabits per second it is almost unusable at times. Fine if you don’t need to use the internet a lot but if you frequently need the internet like me you may want to give this place some extra consideration.
