Summertime camping in style, roughing it in luxury. This is still a campground with everything that comes with people around you. Different bedtimes and quiet hours cant address road noise or the weather but if youre looking for terry cloth robes, an open two person shower (lack of sound barriers around the toilet) a real bed with canvas walls, draped screens, a fire pit, and electricity all in a campground setting. This place is great. The lodge, included breakfast, pool and lots of little extras like telescopes and backpacks are helpful for exploring around the area. Again, its still a campground and you still need to drive into the national park but theres so much to enjoy here!

Great fun. Watch your dog carefully. They can easily escape from the tent. Ask for a site in B or C for less road noise. Bring newspaper to start fires, wood is provided free but not too dry. Food is good! Pizza night on Mon. Nice & close to Acadia and several beaches to watch the sunset.

We absolutely loved our stay at Terramor! We took the advice of other reviews on here and requested a more secluded tent since my husband and I wanted a more private and relaxing experience. From the star gazing lecture, to morning yoga to helpful and friendly staff, this resort had it all and more! We even had the hot tub and pool to ourselves two nights in a row! (It turns adults only at 8pm). No issues with nighttime being quite, all we could hear was the cracking of our fire and the sounds of the night. Beautiful accommodations in the middle of nature, it doesn’t get much better! We will be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at Terramor for my birthday. It was a perfect outdoor retreat for those of us that are unaccustomed to actual camping; we loved waking up in the morning with a view of the trees and hearing birds chirping. The bed was comfortable and the shower was warm w/ good water pressure. We ate dinner on our porch around a fire each night, and our dogs loved being in the outdoors, too! We also loved the convenience of being able to buy a beer or snack at the lodge, going for a dip in the jacuzzi, and borrowing gear if needed. We would love to stay again!

Great base camp for your Acadia adventures. We wanted to camp but also wanted to shower and sleep comfortably. This is the best of both worlds. Enjoy a campfire and smores but also know youll have a good nights sleep and wake up refreshed and ready to tackle the amazing terrain of this unique national park. The tents are roomy, well appointed, and comfortable. The lodge is a good place to grab breakfast and an easy dinner when youre too tired to visit Bar Harbor. We will book again.

Had a great time at the resort! We were in the bayberry tent and found it very spacious and clean. This is very much a tent and you will hear your neighbors cough or talk next door. Bring earplugs if you require quiet to sleep. They have quiet hours after 10pm but we still heard families being loud afterwards.I think my only suggestion would be to maybe move the tents around. Have a quieter area for couples tents vs family tents. I was honestly surprised at the amount of young children I saw.

It’s all about being in nature. To listen to the sounds .. This is what your brochure and marketing says. But, all we could hear was the highway and loud cars and trucks traveling at high speeds. Nothing like paying over $350 to listen to cars on a highway. The tent was nice but it was so close to the highway. We felt like we were right next to a highway sleeping in a tent.Website and information you tell prospective guests is to get in touch with nature. You can’t, when all you can hear is the roar of cars driving on the highway. Why would we pay good money for this. Just horrible! We won’t be back to Maine. It was a one time birthday gift. You need to let guests know that tents are right next to a loud highway. If we knew that, we would never of staid here. Most unfortunate. For those considering staying here we recommend staying somewhere else and NOT here!

Spent a couple of days here with the family. Cannot say enough good things about this place! Tentaccommodations were amazing the site was clean -food and drinks were excellent- Pool and hot tub kids loved- adult only swim is from 8 p.m to 10 p.m. To the crew who worked great customer service from front desk- to bartenders to food servers. Morning a.m. breakfast just enough to get you up and out the door to whatever adventure you were taking for the day. Location close enough to everything you wanted to do and camp sites quiet enough for peace. We will definitely be back! Loved our glamping experience!

You pay a lot of money for a beautiful tent! That’s it! The noise from the road is really difficult to ignore. The food offered at the lobby is, as advertised, made with fresh produces but if you are vegan or vegetarian your options will be extremely limited! Terramor is a family resort, where wealthy families can bring their kids glambing safely, this is not a relaxing or romantic retreat and should be advertised as it on their website. This is way overpriced for the experience you get.

We had the best vacation experience at Terramor! Its close to the park loop as well as tons of other attractions/trails. Their lodge is huge with plenty of to go options, including beer and wine. The breakfast was complementary and they offered lots of fresh high end food. The only disappointing thing was the dinner options, they offer a full menu but we were limited to only pretzels and pizza during our stay.

This place is a great stay for glamping albeit a bit on the expensive side. Unless you have a party of 5. While this is a dog friendly stay I would have liked it if they had some additionally facilities like dog sitting. You cant leave your dogs unattended in the tent. If they had that also, I would have given this place a 5 star. The food is also really good. Do try the barbeque ;it is a fun experience. Making camp fire is also fun.

Just returned from our two-night stay at the resort and my husband and I loved it! We went to celebrate my birthday and I celebrated just how I wanted to- in the middle of nature. My husband isnt the glamping type so I was a little worried how he would react but the tent really has all the luxuries of a typical hotel room, actually even nicer! Three shower heads with excellent water pressure and we never ran out of hot water, double sinks, king size bed with ceiling fans, very clean room, and best of all: there were really no bugs! I was actually expecting to be some but surprisingly we had none (that we noticed). Loved the private fire pit with complimentary wood; what a great way to end the night! The lodge where breakfast is served is so cozy and clean, I would love to have spent more time hanging out there. The resort is about a 15 minute drive to Acadia National Park and about the same distance to Bar Harbor. My only complaint was the young man at the front desk when we checked in; I think he must have been new because he gave us no information on the resort. We found out the next day that there was a pool and jacuzzi, he did not tell us that there was complimentary breakfast each morning (luckily we happened to find out later that night and had to email the resort for breakfast times), we had our dogs with us and he did not give us their complimentary dog care package (my husband happened to see it behind the desk and asked what it was). And finally, when we were checking out, a lovely woman asked me if I received my birthday card and smores kit when we checked in- nope! I got none of that. I was actually pretty disappointed I didnt get these things and so was the woman. Overall, we had a lovely time at Terramor and I would absolutely recommend this resort! I would love to come back again!

This place is amazing. They have thought of literally everything. Awesome complimentary breakfast that was healthy and high quality, not the cheap gross free breakfasts you usually see in hotels. Lots of firewood, and fire starters. Also have hiking gear you can borrow like binoculars, hiking sticks, and even telescopes. They have all the convenience of a hotel but with the fun of outdoors and camping. Our space was so clean and modern yet cozy and warm ! They have modern things like the Chemex and electric kettle to make coffee /tea in your room, as well as a cooler if need be and they provide ice. The outdoor fire pit was a joy.Our room had its own bathroom shower situation which was great. Just FYI tho it is not completely walled off so you don’t have complete privacy. Also had a lot of activities throughout the week like yoga and stargazing. I missed the pancakes on the weekend since I didn’t stay during that time. They also have little wagons so you can easily carry your stuff from your car to your room. And they have wagons full of firewood to take too. The area is also spread out but not huge which is nice, it’s easy to get around and yet not a ton of people so it’s not crowded it’s very peaceful. This place is a true gem. I can’t wait to come back. Their customer service was amazing we were so comfortable and everything was easy to find and figure out.

We had booked a weekend at Terramor which we were very excited about. My husband coaches our 10 yo son and the team made it to the State Championship, which of course had not been planned originally due to COVID. If my husband did not go or my son, the whole team would not have been able to play and could not in good conscience do that to a group of kids. I called and emailed the resort as soon as we new, which unfortunately was within the week. No one got back to me until I emailed again and they only communicated through email. Never called me which would have made communication easier. As a nurse, my time is very limited for taking family trips and tried to find alternate dates but they were booked for anything that worked. I asked if we could transfer the weekend to next year but they would not book more than 11 months out. I had a friend that was willing to take our weekend but they would not let me transfer. I tried everything and was soooo disappointed because this was a surprise birthday weekend for my son.In the end they charged me $550. When I share with friends our story, they brought to my attention that there is no doubt this place is double-dipping and undoubtedly filled the reservation with everyone vying to get to Bar Harbor. Now that I have time to process this, the fact that no person ever called me or tried to work with me to find alternate dates or even splitting nights between tents if need be is frustrating. It definitely does not have me wanting to give them business again.

Very much enjoyed our stay here at the end of May. A much needed peaceful retreat from the daily grind. We stayed in a Bayberry tent and it was great! Very modern and chic. The bed was SUPER comfortable and the comforter plus the extra blanket provided kept us toasty. Very grateful to have had the electric heater at night as the temperature dipped into the low 40s. Loved the in-tent amenities like the electric kettle, assorted tea bags, mugs, wine glasses, bath robes, reed air difusser (which smelled amazing), plus everything you needed to use your fire pit. Very much appreciated the complimentary fire wood sheds, which are only a short walk from the tents. The shower was incredible (on par with up scale hotels). The best part of our stay was waking up, opening up the tent and simply enjoying the sights and sounds of nature from our screened in porch while sipping something hot. It is evident that a lot of thought went into making the tents comfortable and functional.Ate at the lodge our first night and the burgers we had were delicious!A few notes: Keep in mind you are still in a canvas tent in the woods so a few bugs are to be expected in the tent. Due to Covid, there was no housekeeping. Staff were friendly but seemed a bit inexperienced and could benefit from ongoing training.Definitely would recommend a stay at the Terramor for something out of the ordinary.

This was our first family vacation since the start of covid and we had a really enjoyable experience. We have camped in tents before, and we found that Terramor allowed us to enjoy everything that is good about camping without having to endure the hassle that usually comes with it.Our ‘Alder’ tent was located overlooking the pavilion area and did not have an attached bathroom. Instead, we had access to our own private bathroom in a nearby building. The heated bathroom was very well appointed and something you’d expect to find in a very nice hotel. You get you own key, so we left our toiletries there safe in the knowledge that no one else had access. The tent itself was wonderful - very comfortable beds and well thought-out. In all honesty, we did not spend that much time in the tent as the weather was so nice and we were out and about exploring most of the time. The main lodge is a stunning, light-filled cabin structure. We did not eat there apart from in the morning where we had breakfast. This consisted of a cold buffet of fruit, muffins, yogurts, hard boiled eggs, breads (there was a toaster), and granola bars, etc. It was more than adequate to set us up for the day.We visited the pool on two occasions and it was not overly crowded either time. The pool water was on the warm side, and the spa was not busy when we were there. All of the staff members we encountered were very friendly and were obviously working hard to make Terramor a success. It was clear that covid has severely impacted the ability of local businesses (including Terramor) to recruit and retain workers and this certainly was evident in some small details that I personally am prepared to overlook considering we are emerging from a once-in-a-lifetime (I hope) global pandemic - not having enough poolside towels isn’t the end of the world.Just bear in mind when you stay here that much of your experience will be determined by the behavior of your neighbors than by the resort amenities. Take ear plugs and eye masks to help get a good nights sleeps. And don’t forget your telescope (or borrow one from the lodge) because the night sky is spectacular!

We really enjoyed coming out to glamp. We absolutely loved the main lodge area it was beautiful, clean, spacious, and welcoming. They have a nice sized bar area plus a large dining area including outside seating. We loved their little rocking chairs loved that you could borrow star gazing items and chairs. The women at the front desk was so nice and helpful. They have wagons to load up your items to walk to your camping spot which was a little difficult with a wagon full of luggage we about ran ourselves over going down the little hill to the site 💁🏻‍♀️. We loved our glamping site. Only complaints were the chairs on the porch were a little in comfy but the ones in the room were great. And the bed was a little sunken in in the middle area and we could hear the traffic starting early around 4(maybe a further back site would have been better 🤷🏻‍♀️). Favorite part was the shower of course 😆 it was huge!! At least for the two person tent. We really enjoyed sitting in the front with the tent open as the sun went down. They also had a pool and hot tub. We liked walking around on the little paths. The food was pretty good. The pizza we got I think was the pig and fig. It was awesome wish they would have put the greens and cheese on the last couple minutes to get them melted onto the pizza. The wings we had were great as well the sauce was delicious!Would have loved if they offered to have someone bring down any luggage. Also I’m not sure if they offer it but it would be awesome if you could call and have drinks or food brought down to your tent site!

Spent three nights at Terramor for a special occasion trip and had an excellent time. Would recommend it to anybody, and definitely plan on returning! We had low expectations after reading some of the early reviews but did not experience ANY of the named issues. Tent was well stocked and very clean. Included bath robes, stocked toiletries, plenty of towels, upscale tea and coffee supplies, cups and wine glasses, and a small cooler (would recommend bringing your own in addition if you have more than a few cans or are also storing food). We did not need anything added or restocked. We enjoyed the private fire pit every night of our stay. The first bundle of wood was free, and ice was available from the main lodge as well. Food was excellent in the main lodge at dinner time - and Erika in the kitchen and Marissa and Louis at the bar provided fantastic service and fun conversation. To address the noise complaints - yes - you do hear minimal road noise and people do wake up and drive out early to catch the sunrise - but this is well within what we would have expected for ANY property on a small and busy island and did not subtract from our experience at all. We truly had no complaints.

Its definitely overpriced. I had a lot of the same issues as others- they dont walk you to your tent to show you how anything works (or doesnt work). I asked for a flash light after first night -fair enough they dont have- but at least tell us the lights by bed come off the wall to act as a lantern. Its cute enough- but grounds arent special- or close enough to warrant cost. Staff is very nice, but seem very inexperienced overall. Shower is great- for sure.Food however is amazing- like truly delicious. No, they didnt have breakfast- but no matte. The dinner from Dakota was out of this world- we told other people to just go for dinner- Dakotas cooking is fantastic. We wanted the experience to warrant the cost, but had a nice time.

Stayed here in Mid-October, upon first arrival everything seemed great but we shortly found out this place was not as advertised. First night the power cut out, no big deal except when I walked to the front desk to let them know instead of sending someone out they asked me if I checked the breakers(I did and said so but they asked me to do it again)... So I walked back and they were fine so I had to call them to get someone to come out like I had asked the first time. I can deal with that, the grounds were nice bathrooms were nice, tents were very cold even with their heaters but it is camping so again that doesnt matter.(if you do not expect it to be cold sleeping outside stay in a hotel or stay in a place that advertises wood burning stoves, do not hold it against them as they do not claim the tents are heated )What really set me off was the last night we were there we wanted to just hangout and chill in the lodge have some drinks and food. Unfortunately they were out of food... We were told we only have pizza we were so busy yesterday we ran out, (So you had all day to go to a store and didnt?) Had the pizza the night before is was mediocre so was not in the mood to try more, so I thought lets just have drinks or something let me get a screwdriver we are out of orange juice how about wine we only have these 3 left. So instead we took the 25-30 minute drive into bar harbor to get food and drinks, really defeated the point paying a lot of money for a luxury experience should have just camped and pay a lot less. My recommendation if you want a luxury camping experience stay at Under the Canvas well worth the money. This place is not run like a luxury operation, more like a normal camp ground that you pay $20-30 a night.

Our family of four (two and adults and two children - 6 & 3) spent the last 5 nights at Terramor and we left wishing it could have been more. We hope to be able to visit again. The tent was incredible, the beds were soft and WARM, the water was hot, the lodge was relaxing and cozy, the grounds were beautiful, the hot tub was perfect, and the staff were very helpful. It was exactly what we expected and we wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else on the island. To address some of the concerns in other reviews... Noise - we love to tent camp and if you have ever been tent camping you know that there is a certain level of noise from other sites and from traffic you will inevitably deal with. However, we were not impacted in any way by noise at Terramor. Cost - for this unique experience they can charge what they want if people are willing to pay for it. Don’t look at this as a cheap option to hotel because it is not that. While it seems like future rates have unfortunately gone up we felt VERY satisfied with what we paid for this experience. Kinks - we did feel that there were a number of things that will be improved as they go. You could feel that certain kinks had not been worked out due to being a new resort with a short season. When visiting Maine (especially in the fall towards the end of season) be prepared for small business to close, or limit their menus, or change their hours/days of operation with little notice. We felt that at the resort a bit with bar hours, food service, happy hour changing, etc. But again, nothing we didn’t expect.Again - we will be back. We absolutely loved our time at Terramor, and I have no doubt this place will be in HIGH demand for a long time to come. One of the most memorable places we have stayed anywhere.

Nice place to stay, friendly staff, cool vibe. This was Glamping- nice upscale tents and amenities with a campground like feel. Like a campground, you can hear your neighbors sometimes, and depending on the tent location may feel more or less private. Our tent was at the back of a loop and a bit off the path, so it felt much more private than one of the tents on the edge of the field. Although the bathroom and bunks were separated off it wasn’t a complete separation so it felt like everyone was in the same room. Definitely kept up with the camping feel, but with some comfortable amenities. Perhaps a bit pricy, but again, glamping, so to be expected.Lodge and pool were cool, cozy areas, but I’m sure COVID prevented us and others from using them to their fullest potential. The light breakfast and coffee was great. Nothing fancy, but a little muffin/pastry, yoghurt to get us started.

The one positive was the tent. Other than that I agree with all of the previous negative comments. Customer service and amenities were nonexistent. The website completely oversold The reality. The grounds are unkempt, staff was constantly on their cell phones, tents were very close together, no privacy. The restaurant was a joke. We were literally told the first night we arrived that they were out of food and could not feed us, even though there were staff members eating steak and pizza while sitting at the desk. The sandwiches advertised on the website were not even available and we were never reimbursed for the lack of breakfast. The advertised cuisine was one of the main reasons we booked there so we would not have to travel into Bar Harbor for everything But we did not get a single thing to eat at the lodge during our four night stay.I wrote a thoughtful email to the manager after our stay and never even Received a response. We very much enjoyed our stay, a unique mixture of enjoying the outdoors with the luxuries of good food, a fire pit, and a shower fit for a five-star hotel among other amenities. This being the first year the resort is open and dealing with the realities of Covid-19, the staff was extremely accommodating, and despite having to pare back some parts of the experience, the efforts were greatly appreciated to make the stay special. We would gladly go back but perhaps bring a bit warmer clothes as the mornings in September can be a bit cold. Every detail of the tents, lodge and grounds seem well planned to make the stay different but comfortable and very appropriate for the picturesque Mount Desert Island where it is located.

Terramour is overpriced. Thats the issue. As many people stated here the tents are wondeful, the lodge is beautiful, and the pool is nice. The rest of the grounds are an after thought. The service is non-exisitent. This is not glamping. Its camping as this is a campground and nothing more. The notion that Terramour is a resort as suggested by their website and nightly rates are setting this otherwise great concept for failure.Whats not good: The grounds are a mess. The wonderful field they build up on their site hasnt been mowed in weeks. The fenced in area for the dogs is nicer. The area around the lodge for playing games is dead grass with a cheap badminton set. Its nearly impossible to get towels or any other necessities from the front desk and they answer the phone maybe 20% of the time. They have 1 tiny garbage can to serve a cluster of several tents. Its always full and overflowing. You have to police quiet hours. They start at 10:00pm - we had other campers being loud well past that to the point I had to get dressed and get out of my tent to ask them to settle down. Their after hours phone was not answered and the voicemail isnt even setup. The tents are close together, which is understandable, but my family had to listen to the tent next to us have sex, and again after hours phone was not answered to maybe ask them to keep it down... and it when on for a while (good for them I guess, bad for my 10 year old dauhgter). They dont bring you to your tent, they dont explain the over-hyped property, their kitchen is understaffed, and nobody asks how your stay is/was... they dont care. All for a fancy resort price. I understand working out the kinks, and having staffing issues, but you cant charge people $450/night until you have that sorted out.

Very beautiful in the tents and most spots are pretty secluded. a little chilly so come prepared. shower is awesome but there’s a very limited menu and the pizza oven is broken so you can either have a sand which or an appetizer... also no restaurants nearby or fridge/microwave so plan on being hungry. overall expensive for the lack of warmth and food but definitely has potential.

This is not a luxury resort at all. It is camping with plumbing. There is no privacy. All the tent windows face common areas so you have to keep them closed so it’s pitch black in the tent. My fire pit faves our neighbor’s fire pit. The rooms are freezing in the fall—I imagine the heat in the summer would be unbearable. No extra blankets or pillows to be found. No robes or slippers as advertised. Thank god we packed blankets for picnics. We had to use those. My shower flooded the bedroom area and soaked my clothes. It was too cold outside for them to dry properly. Customer service was awful. The branding is misleading and false advertising. Also it’s 20 minutes away from hiking and 20 minutes from town. But no trails on site and no grills on site so you can’t even stay out if you wanted to. No fridge in the tent—just a soft sided cooler big enough for 6 cans. Couldn’t even fit leftovers from dinner so the tent smelled like leftovers.

This place is not open yet, but it is coming together beautifully!! I think that guests are going to absolutely love this resort. When they stay, they will experience the adventures of camping with the comfort of home, but with a cabin in the woods twist. Stunning tents and a beautiful lodge, not to mention the pool that looks like something you would find in nature.

Anyone who was disappointed clearly didn’t have the proper expectations for this place! Glamping is going to have some aspects of camping. You’re not checking into a hotel. You’re checking into a tent. That’s outdoors. But it’s also not a back country camping site miles from civilization. Which to us, was part of the reason we chose it. It’s close to Acadia and close to Bar Harbor. The staff were very sweet and attentive. The tent was just as well designed and thoughtfully crafted as advertised and I’m sorry, but the double shower head in our tent was pure genius. The food at the Lodge was stellar, the hot tub was hot, and although we were freezing as we got into bed (it was about 45 degrees), the duvet and wool blanket kept us plenty warm. Our tips: if you don’t want to go to the Lodge for your creamer in the morning when you make your coffee (there’s a chemex in the tent) grab some at dinner the night before, make sure to get robes, use the hair dryer they provide to get some warm air under the duvet before you get in!

The tents and the main lodge are very nice, but it definitely felt like this summer is a “soft” opening. Tents have nice amenities, beds are good, and shower was better than I expected for a tent. Our family of five was comfortable, but there could have been a bit more storage. Marketing on the web site overstates a lot of the realities of the present state, especially in terms of dining. I’ll give them a bit of a break due to COVID, but it was disappointing that things like the landscaping weren’t in better shape. Basic service was lacking — I had to call in daily for towels, toilet paper, and trash bags — but the staff was very responsive to the requests and delivered items promptly. Would have been nice if someone at least explained the lay of the land when we arrived, which would have saved me some frustration in figuring things out. The restaurant was still not fully operational, and the included breakfast options were pretty limited for anyone with dietary restrictions. The pool is small for the number of tent sites they have, but nice. We did not get a chance to experience their “Outfitters” and were told services were limited due to COVID. Again, I’m sure they will figure some of this out for next year when hopefully things are more normal, but I do feel a bit put off that I am paying full price when they are still figuring things out. The one thing they will not be able to fix is the road noise from Rt 102, which is not awful on the weekend but is very loud during the week.

The luxe tent itself was well worth the price of admission. Having booked this trip in December 2019, we found ourselves arriving for a 7-night stay during what became opening weekend in early August. In the unusual climate of 2020, we found a beautiful respite in the woods of Mount Desert Island! As a party of 2, the Birch tent was delightful! Cozy, super comfortable bed and much larger Interior than what we’d expect at a hotel or inn. The bathroom; just wow - so much nicer than expected for even luxury category glamping! The facilities are stunning - KOA really spared no expense: Frette linens, robes & slippers (Unnecessary but lovely), pour over coffee set up is top notch, and we found the food purchased from the Lodge to be quite good (especially the pizza as some have gripes about). We fully had the option to cancel but are glad we forged ahead!Room for improvement: There wasn’t much of an intro to the resort at check in other than where to park & offer for assistance with baggage. Also, lines built up in the lodge to order food and such because the menus were not readily available (Again, COVID). A daily newsletter or even weekly - digital or print - would alleviate some of that guesswork and offer more insight to the property.Agreed that during summer hours closing the pool at 7 seems unnecessarily early. If one is spending a full day in Acadia and getting dinner off-site, it would have been nice to enjoy the hot tub / pool until 8 or 9pm. We found ourselves sticking around for a swim after breakfast then heading to Acadia when the crowds died down post-lunchtime. The dryness of the grounds didn’t affect our enjoyment of the property - it is a campground, after all. I recommend obtaining supplies to grill. We reserved one of 3 grill sites to cook dinner on 3 nights and found this to be a great option! The area adjacent to the lodge had lovely lawn games and observation decks for when you wanted to get away from your tent. Also a larger, more communal fire pit that looked very inviting for large groups to use. This is a beautiful spot in a great location for exploring all of MDI with spirited staff who are trying their best to adapt to unprecedented conditions and restrictions. I do expect the entirety of the guest experience at Terramor will live up to its gorgeous tents / promises of its advertising (As to restaurant and activities) in the years to come. We’ll be back for sure!

As a way to go on vacation safely in the time of COVID, this place was perfect. The accommodations were very nice and spaced out. We felt very safe and that was worth the cost to us.If these were normal circumstances, I would have been underwhelmed. I know that they opened this summer, and still have some kinks to work out. Many of the listed amenities, such as the robes, seemed to vary from tent to tent (we were there with another couple who reserved an identical tent to ours). There was no where to hang your towels. The septic was giving off a very strong smell which made it difficult to sit outside.Additionally, some of their policies are frustrating. You only receive one bundle of wood with your reservation, regardless of how long youre staying. Additional bundles are $10, so bring your own. Packed lunches must be ordered the day prior, as must any of the fireside grill packages. They dont have fridges in the room, making it difficult to bring your own food to cook. And the wifi was essentially non existent. They did provide space heaters, which did a great job warming our tent at night and there were plenty of extra blankets. There are charging stations in the lot for electric vehicles. And the staff were very friendly and helpful. I hope that they take the feedback theyve been receiving to make this the premium experience theyve been advertising. As is, I dont think Ill be returning.

We bailed on Terramor after one night that was somehow both humid and frigid. The tents have no heat, so youll have to stay warm either under blankets or in the (quite nice) shower. After a hot shower, your belongings will be soaked due to humidity because the shower and the bed are in the same room. After your shower, you can go back to being cold, but the moisture will persist. We were told that the manager was at Walmart buying space heaters, and that it was unseasonably cold. Terramors claim about the weather being unseasonably cold is patently false, but regardless, 50F at night is quite chilly. Its comfortable under the covers, but you wouldnt want to hang out anywhere else in the tent.Luckily, a room at Harborside, which is both the fanciest hotel in Bar Harbor and the same price as Terramor(!), was available for the duration of our stay. We are so grateful. In addition to being comfortable, Harborside is incredibly well located. Its walking distance from both local culture and natural maritime beauty. Had we stayed at Terramor, every time we wanted to eat anywhere but Terramor would have been a 15 minute drive instead of a 2 minute walk.By the way, there is no longer hot gourmet breakfast at Terramor, as we were informed on arrival. See other reviews regarding the food situation at Terramor. You wont want to leave any valuables in your room at Terramor when you go out for the day to explore Acadia, because anyone can unzip the door and take what they please. I wouldnt be worried about this at a campground, but an expensive luxury resort seems like an obvious target for theft. A small safe and/or instructions on security would have helped with this. Its only going to get colder as winter approaches, but maybe the space heaters from Walmart will take the edge off.

The resort is situated right off of a main road. You could hear cars passing by throughout the day/evening. This obviously took away from the remote and secluded glamping experience we were expecting. The grounds are poorly maintained. There are fallen trees, broken branches and over-grown weeds throughout. The tents are beautifully laid out but could use additional lighting and a space heater.Due to excuse of COVID, the management informed us that there will be no hot breakfast available, only grab-n-go. As a result we received cereal bars, a piece of fruit (unripe banana or apple), coffee & juice. If you are lucky, you may be able to grab a muffin if they are not all gone. Almost all the camp activities are cancelled due to COVID (star gazing, alcohol tastings, bird watching, etc). The staff lent us a telescope but were unable to offer us any advice on how to use it. We were unable to operate it.Although an RTIC cooler was provided in our tent, we have to pay for a bag of ice. You get 1 free bag of firewood upon check-in. You have to pay for any additional firewood despite how many nights you stay (we stayed for 2 nights). The Terramor team is clearly understaffed and consists of untrained people. Upon arrival, there was no explanation of operating the tent or a quick synopsis of the grounds. We paid a lot of money for our stay at Terramor but didnt receive much value. I would recommend staying in a lodge/hotel or building your own tent.Im giving 2 stars as the staff was nice enough to move us to a more remote part of the camp when I complained about the initial tent being situated too close to the main road. Either way, this didnt help greatly with the noise.

I have to begin by saying that we almost cancelled our stay due to the poor reviews we’d read online. We decided to go on ahead and give Terramor a try since we were actually looking forward to the trip. Thankfully we didn’t cancel. We had a splendid time! That being said, I do feel the need to address some of the negative reviews... in hopes that other people don’t cancel or simply don’t book with terramor due to a few poor reviews. We stayed on the B side of camp. There were no foul smells in the area. Thankfully we were far away from the road so really no noise either. Yes, the tents are “close” but nothing worse than how close camp sites are at actual campgrounds. I guess we got lucky with neighbors, because despite being able to hear people talk if they were loud enough, they actually respected the quiet hours (which the staff reinforces upon your arrival). The area is not terribly large. We received a map upon check-in (I mean... pretty explicit as of where everything is..) and we absolutely felt no need for further explanations. I really don’t understand how people complain about “walking to the tent and getting no help”. You barely have to walk a minute from the parking area to the tent. Asides from that, they have carts readily available for you to transport your luggage if needed. Again, we are talking about “glamping”.The tent is GORGEOUS and pretty self-explanatory. Not sure why you would need a guided tour... the shower is great and you have really hot water which was amazing after a day of hiking. The bed was comfortable and we had multiple blankets at our disposal in case we got cold (we did book the Birch Tent though)The wooded area is nice, and we loved the feeling of being out in nature while having an upscale camping experience. The food situation: grab and go breakfast is really not good (and the discount you get is negligible). We planned for it and brought breakfast snacks. They could probably provide something a bit better that remains grab and go. The food they offer at night is fantastic. We had the burger and the lobster sandwich with brie cheese and apricots. Delicious.I do feel certain things could be improved: for the price, you could get a pack of wood per day if you need it. $10 for wood seems excessive. They could definitely do with towel hangers in the bathroom, and for sure they need to be more cautious on checking that toiletries are available upon check-in (since you can only request refills prior to 11am next day). I was slightly disappointed that I didn’t have a robe on my tent. I didn’t request one either way, but would have loved having one since other tents seemed to get it.Overall, yes. This is “resort” but an “outdoors resort” expect nature, gampling and “rough” conditions (such as cold weather inside the tent). If you want a full on resort experience, you would be better off booking in one of the multiple upscale inns and hotels Bar Harbor has to offer.

Our tent was big, comfortable, and beautiful! The king-size bed and luxurious shower felt like a high-end hotel room, and the blankets and bathrobes rounded out the feel. (Not all the accommodations have these amenities, but we wanted to splurge.) The firepit and porch were great areas to gather and relax. The lodge is lovely and warm and the food and drinks were a treat after a day of hiking and exploring the park.A perfect outdoors-ish experience for those who want to soak in the Acadia experience but arent equiped or experienced enough for full-on camping.

We spent three nights here in mid-August. It was apparently one of the first few weeks it was open.As others have noted, its plain that opening a facility like this during COVID was difficult, and many of the hiccups can easily be attributed to those challenges. However, as others have also intimated, there are a number of things here that dont live up to the very sleek website, or justify the cost, which is quite high. The property:The lodge is beautiful and a pleasure to spend time in.The recreation area behind the lodge was a small patch of dead turf next to a weedy/dirt patch with a $25 bought-on-Amazon badminton set with broken shuttlecocks and an equally cheap croquet set. That being said, my kids loved playing out there.Theres a short but very pretty boardwalk through the woods that connects The Field to The Lodge. The pool and jacuzzi area is small, and near the road, but very nice. Only ten lounge chairs--not sure how they expect the math on that to work. First time we went, we had to sit on the grass. The tents: beautiful, with clever touches such as portable USB lanterns. Our Birch tent had a shower with high-end amenities and toiletries. All beds were extremely comfortable. Chemex pour over with high end electric kettle. A few oddities: no toilet paper dispensers, just rolls on the toilet lid. Also, the door close mechanism is a bar that scrapes along the floor until being put into place in a small hole when secure. Everyone hated it. Finally, plan on sending loved ones out of the tent if desiring sound privacy whilst on the toilet.Services:Generally atrocious. We were there before they had to cancel breakfast, but this was hardly a difference. One morning the breakfast was a blueberry muffin. People are paying $400 a night for this, mind you. One morning there was an egg scramble. My daughter didnt want this and then noticed other people were being given mixed fruit as an alternative (not listed on the chalkboard). I went up to ask about the fruit, and they were out.One night we were there the lodge offered a childrens menu, but the rest of the time it was all fig pizza and lobster. Expect on eating elsewhere if a family. No towels at pool. Had to shlep up to lodge.Never any fires in the communal fire pits. If you want to enjoy your muffin outside by a fire, for example, youre out of luck. Also, one day, when it was quite hot, they had fires going inside the lodge. On our last morning, when it had cooled off, no fire.Trash bins always overflowing.Often hard to find luggage wagons.Trash on ground is not picked up. Same bits of debris were on playing field for two days. I finally cleaned it up.Landscaping leaves something to be desired.Concerns:As others have noted, the term Resort suggests a more refined/private experience than one can really have here. These are very fancy tents, and we really enjoyed spending time in them, but theyre tents. Youre close to neighbors and if they decide to have a party, plan on staying up until midnight rueing your decision to stay here. Some of the tents are beautifully tucked away deep into woods, some border parking lots. They should charge by location as well as tent type. They need quiet hours! There is no way to lock your tent.Plan on carrying valuables.

This place has an amazing concept with a good amount of potential, and we were very excited to spend our wedding anniversary and my husbands birthday weekend here. The tents are lovely, but honestly, thats the extent of positivity I can provide.Being a Maine native and frequent camper, I thought this would be a change of pace into something more refined than our normal state park weekends. Our tent was in a cul-de-sac area of the campground (I cant get myself to call this a resort). Our firepit was RIGHT next to our neighbors. It would have been impossible to enjoy this space 4 feet away from strangers who are also trying to enjoy themselves. Thankfully we had friends who were in a different area of the campground, and we used their firepit in the evenings.Speaking of firepits, one bag of wood is included in your stay, but we were not told this upon check-in, so we bought a few bags. Wood isnt normally included at a campground, but as a resort and at the nightly rates they are charging, youd think wood would be included. The shower in our tent was very impressive but did not come stocked with shampoo, conditioner or body wash. I found this out only after already getting soaked. After putting on a robe and calling the front desk 12 times I finally I got ahold of someone, who sounded irritated and told me someone would be right over. I waited on the porch for over an hour, and when someone did show up, he was very friendly but regardless we were late for our evening dinner plans.Speaking of food, when we booked it was explained on the website that breakfast was included with our room rate, but when we arrived we were told that they are unable to provide breakfast. We went into the lodge once other than to check-in and it felt very confusing. We did not eat a thing from Terramor, after realizing the experience was not going to be what we had hoped, we didnt want to spend any more unnecessary money. The beer in our cooler was perfect. When we arrived we were told they upgraded us to a tent with an outdoor shower (in addition to the huge indoor shower). But the outdoor shower doesnt have plumbing, its just an outdoor space, more like a closet with no roof. Later we found out that the fixtures they ordered never arrived. We didnt mind since we werent expecting this feature, but if you did book a tent with an outdoor shower, be warned it doesnt exist currently. The most disturbing was the smell of septic or sewage around our tent. After bringing our concern to the staff, we were told that the septic is no where near our tent, in fact in a completely different area of the campground. Fair enough, but Im guessing there is a leak somewhere in the B tents, and at times the smell is so unpleasant that we had to retreat back into our tent and eventually went over to our friends area (A tents). As other reviews have mentioned, the road noise is noticeable, and the dust from the paths can be annoying. Some of these things can be forgiven seeing as they just opened, but when you pay over $700 for a weekend you expect a level of service that was just not achieved. The website photos and descriptions promise much more than what was delivered, which would be fine if the price tag wasnt so steep. $200 a night would be more accurate for what we got; which was an amazing tent in a dusty field close to others with an unpleasant smell. If it wasnt for the proximity to Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor this place would be a bust for us.We are heading back to the area next weekend but staying in our own tent at a campground for $75.

Refinement? Meh. Unpaved. More like a dust bowl. The concept of Terramor is enticing. It appeals to travelers like myself who love the outdoors but do not appreciate roughing it. We made our reservation in April and thanks to the marketing efforts of Terramor (owned by KOA, we later discovered) had visions of a secluded, wooded wonderland. In all fairness, we arrived the second week the property was opened. Covid caused a two month delay on their opening date. One could assume this would provide ample time to finish the property and train the staff. Apparently not.The Good.As mentioned, the concept is a great one. The lodge is beautiful. Wine and beer selection is on par with a resort with the room rates. The food was very good. Having all of these things on site was fantastic. The Bad.The website sets this property up for failure. There is no privacy. Our tent was on the edge of the “field.” The set up was similar to summer camp. And the field was an overgrown piece of land with weeds so dead one runs the risk of cutting their legs and feet. If you do not need a bandaid after making it across, god forbid a stray ash from one of the fire pits finds its way on the “field.” It would go up in flames in under a minute. Also, the grounds are a dust bowl. Would not have surprised me to see a tumbleweed blowing across the front porch. Also the noise levels were more than expected. If you are into a city feel under the stars, this is your place. The noise from the busy road is loud—we used a white noise app.The most disappointing factor was the service. The staff acted as though our mere existence was an annoyance. No explanation of the property, any request for a towel or trash bag was met with a shrug and the restaurant is all counter service. Fine. But difficult to understand the room rates and lack of service. The most attention one will receive is being asked to leave the pool. It closes at 7. I don’t know why. There’s no lifeguard on duty. The sun is still out. But at 7:07 a staff member appears out of nowhere to give you the boot. However you cannot find a staff member to get pool towels. Even upon check out, there is no one asking about your stay. So, that’s why I’m leaving this review. If you are used to a campground, this place will seem good. If you expect a resort with a tent, save yourself the frustration and your money. The location is off a busy road, 20 min from downtown Bar Harbor. I’ve received friendlier service from Walmart.

Terramor is a thoughtfully designed experience close to Acadia National Park where you and your family can enjoy the beauty of the state of Maine. The staff strive to make your stay as comfortable and convenient as possible, and they do so with a smile. We have young children, and the property itself provides so many opportunities for everyone to play and enjoy the time. I especially enjoyed the pour over coffee in our tent (Fellow electric kettle and Chemex!). The restaurant in the lodge was very convenient as we ended the day of hiking and needed not worry about finding reservations to enjoy good food. As some have noted, the mattresses could be updated, but ours was not completely uncomfortable. We would love to stay here again, and as there are plans to open additional sites in other places, we eagerly await trying those destinations as well.
