Dr. Gelb did my wifes recent back surgery, and he was everything one could ask for in a surgeon. Competent, caring, and very easy to work with. He did great by her, and we would recommend working both Dr. Gelb and his staff to any of our friends or relatives who needed help with their back.

Dr Gelb is the reason I can now walk and stand straight! I am forever grateful to him for taking my case! I had a severely deformed spine as a result of incompetent surgery performed by Dr Charles Davis, who has now relocated to Wesley Chapel Florida. I recently googled Dr Charles Davis, Glen Burnie Md where I found records documented regarding various law Suites pertaining to incompetence by this surgeon. I never had any pain nor regrets with the surgery Dr Gelb did to correct the deformities that I had due to surgery by Davis Spine. How the state of Florida could give Dr Davis a license to butcher unsuspecting patients as I experienced in Maryland is totally unacceptable! I encourage all to do the research on Davis Spine and get a second opinion at the very least! If it hadn’t been for Dr Daniel Gelb, UMMC, I would not be able to walk again! I strongly recommend that all potential patients for back surgery make an appointment with Dr Gelb. I suffered for 9 years and now I am pain free, no longer deformed! Thank you Dr Gelb!

What can I say about Dr. Gelb, well the only thing I can say is that Dr. Gelb is an phenomenal doctor and surgeon. Unfortunately, over the past 18yrs I’ve seen several orthopedic surgeons specializing in the treatment of the spine and well if I had seen Dr. Gelb in the beginning I would have been sparred a tremendous amount of pain and surgeries. He’s takes the time to explain your condition in detail and how best to treat you he doesn’t sugar coat it, which I like. While I was in the hospital he made sure that I was well taken care of and that any and all questions and concerns were answered and that my husband was well informed. He always makes sure that all calls and emails are returned and answered promptly. Best of all Dr. Gelb listens to his patients.

My wife suffered terrible from scoliosis and stononsis which requires a complete lower back and hip fission. Dr. Gelb was just great in all aspects; from our first appointment through follow up case study he presented excellent patient care. We recommend him at the highest level, he gave my wife her life back with ten years of active living behind us we thank him.

I have had a great experience with Dr. Gelb & his staff. Appointment are on time, reception staff are very welcoming. Lobby sitting area is clean & organized and they provide free coffee & tea. I really like their tall chairs.Check-in is quick. Vitals are taken then you are either sent for an X-ray or placed in an exam room.Once you get in the exam room, Dr. Gelbs physicians assistant will speak with you first to go over your history and current complaints. He/she will leave and he/she will brief Dr. Gelb with their findings. Dr. Gelb will come in (sometimes with a staff member) & review any scans/x-rays and written reports.Dr. Gelb really cares about his patients and wants to help them resolve their issues. He always is in a great mood and it shows. He is clear speaking and is straightforward with his opinions and plan of care. He does not push you to do surgery. He leaves it up to you.He is ok with you getting a second opinion. If you decide to get surgery, his scheduling coordinator will meet with you and provide you with a neatly prepared folder with all the information you need about the surgery and what tests are required within 30 day before you surgery. At the hospital he will put your mind at ease right before surgery. After surgery, he will talk to your family or assigned representative. You may see him, but you wont remember due to the anesthesia.Once you are placed in your assigned room in the hospital, you will see the nurses most often. If you are in pain and it is not being controlled, ask them for more pain meds. If they decline, ask them to call Dr. Gelb. If they dont get back with you in a timely manner, you should call Dr. Gelbs physician assistant (you will get their number before surgery). If they dont call you back (doubtful), call the doctors office directly, day or night, explain the situation and ask them to page Dr. Gelb & request a call back. He will call you back. After released home, you can call his office with any questions & they will call you backYou will have post-op visits scheduled before your surgery. Typically they are a week or two after surgery, then at 4 weeks & at 6 weeks. Two of my family members and I have had very positive results from him performing lower back surgeries and spinal fusions on us. His bedside manner is refreshing.I highly recommend Dr. Gelb to anyone who is considering back surgery.

I did no have a good experience with Dr. Gelb. I have scoliosis which commonly causes a curvature in the neck and therefore pain. He told me my pain was not related to scoliosis and I needed to see a psychiatrist about the pain. I have since been to orthapedic surgeons in NYC, NJ, and Philadelphia who have all said the neck pain may be compensatory due to my lumbar curve. Be careful. Doctors are not always right, and dont give up on seeking solutions until you have answers. There is hope for anyone and every suffering from chronic pain and illness. Just because the doctor isnt interested enough in helping you find a solution, doesnt mean you shouldnt be!

Unhappy with the treatment I received here. I work in healthcare so I figured I’d stay within the hospital. I went to this practice for my ongoing neck pain. Dr. Gelb told me “there’s just some things you have to deal with”. I felt as though if I didn’t have a clear or serious diagnosis that I was not welcome to treatment here. I will not go back to this practice and would not recommend.

I have been to about 8 Ortho Doctors in about 22 years, and have never been told,I dont have time for you, until I saw Dr.Gelb. I only needed medication refills, which my last Ortho Doctor gave me no problem. These are not even narcotics, and he said to get them filled from my PCP, because he doesnt have time. Ridiculous bedside manner, and those are words from a pharmacist. He had a resident sign my Rx with a hospitals DEA#, and my insurance will not recognize it, and it will not fill through insurance. His office got the message on Thur. 4/12/18, and it is now Sunday 4/15/18, and his staff could not answer my pharmacys question, which would take them 3 minutes to send over, but Ive had to sit around all weekend with horrible muscle spasms, because of their incompency.
