Happy, happy, happy. Did I mention I was happy? The staff and the doctor were superb! My wife was treated well and never at anytime during her exam did she or I feel rushed. I commend the doctor and his staff for the expertise they displayed to us and the way they helped us to feel comfortable in their care.T.

Since its after Cov-19 they still dont let have non patience in the office or room which is dumb because they either elderly or cant see. The ladies at front desk are Very Rude, also they act like its there way or the high way.,there always messing up ppl appointments, there not held responsible,they dont care if you arrived at appointment that they set up for you. He also over books patients, if he doesnt want non clients in office due supposably to Cov - he should offer seating and shade out side space apart, btw they dont santize or temp check they cram there own clients in there office so still not Cov friendly. It sucks leaving your elderly in there doc knowing that some of his patients need assistance. He needs to hire better help also provide a safe and comfortable place for his patients.

Dr. Yaplee is amazing!! I can see better now than I have in 30 years. Only concern is when trying to contact office staff regarding appointments etc. I must also add that Letty is wonderful, very responsive and truly seems to care about the patients. Thanks again for helping me to see the world clearer!!😁

I have been to this office a few times with my father and the staff is very knowledgeable and the office is always busy, which is a good sign knowing he must be doing something good. The office is very clean and they are following all Covid-19 guidelines. The doctor is very professional and answers all my questions. He also explains all medications when prescribing new medication and treatments. I am very Happy bringing my family here. I highly recommend Dr Yaplee as a Ophthalmologist to anyone having any eye issues.

I would like to thank the dr for an excellent job on restoring my eye sight. I’m seeing better than 20/20. I had cataract surgery in both eyes, I was scared at first with the first eye..but on the second surgery it was a piece of cake. The surgery went well and I haven’t had any issues. May diabetes has hurt my vision over many years and I’m happy to say 🎵I can see clearly now 🎵 both near and far at age 65, like when I was in my 20’s. Thank you doctor for the fantastic job you’ve done.....Sorry forgot to mention that he also has a hard working fantastic staff that are bright, cheerful, and professional team clearly his staff makes you feel like family

Cancelled my 10:30 am appointment today because when I went to sign in the entire waiting room was allready packed. I wont waste 2 or 3 hrs of my time because they are overbooked

Waited over 2 hrs and 45 min just to be told would be another hour!! Waited in crowed rooms with no way to social distance. Finally left w/o seeing doctor. Spoke to office manager who could have cared less. Office staff confused my husbands authorization with hearing doctor and tried to say he didnt have appt (he did). Wouldnt recommend Dr. Yaplee to anyone!

Dr. Yaplee has performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes. The first in 2017, the other in November 2020. The surgeries were quick and painless, with excellent results. He is very professional and informative during consultations in his office. I am very satisfied with the treatment I have received, and will continue with Dr. Yaplee for eye care in the future.

I recently had cataracts surgery done by Dr. Yaplee & what an experience! Its like having a whole new world open up to me. My distance vision has improved tremendously. My nearsightedness is improving daily! Im so so happy to have the surgery!

The experience with Dr. Yaplee and Triangle Eye Institute has been amazing. 20/20 vision restored. All of the paperwork that needed to be done, was done and faxed on time. Highly recommend Triangle Eye Institute.

Very busy practice but my cataract surgery was an excellent experience. I personally didnt find the waiting to be a problem and I had to come from Lake Isabella. Dr Yaplee is a pro and Im looking forward to getting my next surgery.

Dr. Steven M. Yapply is not a professional, he laughed at me for trying to translate what he was telling us to my parents just because he was in a rush and annoyed. He doesnt and will not explain you what is wrong with you unless you asking to stay and explain you what is going on. Not a doctor I would recommend. Not a place I would go. If you dont want to attend patients dont be a doctor.

I never give reviews, but the experience with Dr. Yaplee sadly merits a bad one. I do want to say the in my experience, the office staff (secretaries, nurses and more) have provided great, competent and kind service. However, the opposite can be said with Dr. Yaplee. My dad has been going to Dr. Yaplee for almost 2 years after an accident. In every visit, Dr. Yaplee rushed in and out, barely answering questions. My dad does not speak English, so it is more difficult to always ask all the question he would like or understand everything the doctor is saying. As such, I sometimes go with him to make sure we understand what is going on. This last time, the office was taking precautions with COVID by limiting the number of people going in. Something I understand. I was allowed to accompany my father (with masks on) to ask questions. Dr. Yaplee seemed annoyed that I was there, and rushed me through the questions. At one point he said I have already explained this to him. I dont know why he is asking again. I think this is extremely rude. As a health care provider part of your duty is to make sure you know if your patients understand what is going on every single time. If my dad is asking again it was probably because there was a lack of communication from the beginning. As I translated for my father, Dr. Yaplee laughed and sighed in a mocking way to the nurse. What kind of behavior, care, and service is that?! It showed no more than lack of respect for my father and I. It is definitely not what a good doctor is like.

Excellent in every way. The appointment did take a couple of hours but Dr. Yaplee was Awesome. I was worried about coming here because of the low rating but I was pleasantly surprised with the level of care I received. The time waiting was not a problem at all. Dr. Yaplee is so thorough that I didn’t mind the wait. There are so many things that need to be done when examining eyes and I appreciate quality care; which is what I received when I came to the Triangle Eye Institute. The staff was pleasant; one exception was the receptionist sitting on the left who was rather abrupt and rude to me. She was the first person I met when I walked in and I was afraid the 1 star rating was justified. Once I got past the rude receptionist on the left I was treated fabulously by everyone else, including the doctor.

I wouldnt even give this place 1 but had to give A star. Worse place ever. I was there for 2 and half hours. I called my insurance and ask to go some place else. They wanted me to make appointment when I told them I needed to make sure I had a driver first. Because if I didnt I would have to cancel . She said if you do we would have to charge you 50 bucks for cancelling. Really??? That long in there found out nothing. Never go back.

Love this office. Great staff with knowledgeable people. I went in for optical where Dr. suggested further testing for my vision problem which hasnt been looked at for over a year, then went in for an ophthalmology visit both i waited less than 20 minutes. Front desk nice and helps with appointment scheduling that best fits patients needs.Love this place.

First went here a couple of years ago from a referral. PCP said Dr Yaplee was very good and would get results for my declining sight. I went thinking I would get a new prescription for glasses. I had worn glasses about 20 years and periodically need new ones. Alas astigmatism with cataracts had reached a point new glasses wouldnt help. Dr Yaplee said he could remove cataracts and correct astigmatism such that I wouldnt need glasses at all. Unknown to him a staff person there told me he was best in the county and maybe state for this surgery. I agreed and now have 20/20 ( even hit a 20/15 )vision. Dr Yaplee pays great attention to details for precise results. If you just want to see a doctor in a hurry, maybe not your place. But if youre willing to take the time to be seen by an excellent doctor for the best of results, this is the place. Staff is quite pleasant and systematically advances everyone to the one doctor Dr Steven M Yaplee M. D. on every visit.

I had caractart surgery 5 years ago, well pleased with the outcome. My husband had caractart surgery last week and his second surgery on Monday. Dr. Yaplee is highly recommend by us. Office staff has treated us professional. Wait time for us has been short.

I wish there was an option to leave a zero star rating.My husband was referred to Dr. Yaplee because he is a certified glaucoma specialist. From his first visit to his last, the wait times were always longer than what you would consider normal. You can understand an occasional emergency putting the doctor behind, but to consistently over book your schedule is a disservice to your patients. The office staff does not improve the experience as they treat you almost as if you’re bothering them. We arrived for his first cataract surgery (7:30am) at 7:15am to find the surgery center still locked up with two other patients waiting. They had also been scheduled for 7:30am. The staff showed up and unlocked the doors at 7:40am. By 7:45am three more patients arrived. It took three and one half hours for my husband to have one cataract procedure. The second eye was scheduled for 11:30am, we arrived at 11:15am. They took him back fairly quick. At 2pm I inquired if everything was okay. Was told yes, shouldn’t be much longer. At 3:45 they brought him out. On the way home, he told me the doctor left and went to lunch! They left him sitting in a cubicle, prepped for surgery, for two hours, while they went to lunch. Dr. Yaplee may be highly trained, knowledgeable and a skilled ophthalmologist but his total lack of respect or care for his patients is disgusting. Our story actually gets worse from here but I’m not ready to share those details.

*Mandatory 2+ hour wait just to be seen, regardless of appt time. He will spend a good 7 mins with you though! Its sad that my insurance has me come here and i need the services for my poor deteriorating eye health. But good god! You WILL need a 3+ hour window to be seen. Thats not including any time for tests. Just a simple follow up visit. So frustrating, every single time. Not a one time deal here.

Sincerely the worst place you can come to. Please do not book your appointment here unless you want to show up for a 2pm appointment and then finally get called 2 hours later. This place has a star for a reason, please dont waste your time here and go to another place. Its fine to take your time with patients but overbooking patients is just noy okay when we personally have to do other things ourselves. They really have a wait problem and it must be fixed.

I made an “appointment” for 2 pm. I have a 1 year old and got a babysitter. I went in and there is a poster notice that wait times WITH and appointment are at least 1 hour and up to 2 hours. This was not just a one time incident. There is literally a sign posted that this is a regular occurrence. I cancelled and will not be returning.

This is an awful office. I went in for glasses and contacts and paid for both. I was going to get sent the contacts and I had paid for them and my lenses but then they fired the manager I was working with. Apparently she was giving me too good of a deal. Then, instead of honouring the deal they tried to sell me on more services and refused to even refund me for the products they never sent me.I dont live in Bakersfield and so it doesnt make sense to use them as my permanent office, and when I told them Im no longer in Bakersfield they demanded me to show them receipts of the money I paid them for a refund. Its not my job as the patient to keep those records, its theirs, and when I did show them the receipt for money I paid for the contacts they refused to accept and then changed what they wanted from me. It was such a hassle I eventually let the whole thing go but Im still upset about it.

The receptionist was rude at hell..& my 2:15 appt, I was called back a hour in a half later & still didnt get out til 5pm..its so ridiculous..why so many people booked & making us wait..jus not fair..I saw 2 people get up & walk out after all that waiting..

I was not given my glasses prescription at the time of my appointment, and they refused to fax it or mail it to the address in my chart. Didnt respond to email or fax requests. Had to call twice to finally be told it wasnt possible. Wasted not only my sick time from work but also the cost of a visit.
