Dr. Ashraf is a great man. One of the best doctors I’ve been too. No matter the the problem he will listen is understanding and very compassionate. He does not make you feel rushed and treats us all like family. No better place. Office staff is also nice so that’s a plus.

The doctor is a brilliant man with a lot of experience. Based on a chest x-ray, I was told by another physician there was a chance I was dying of fibrosis. Dr. Alim told me not to worry, reassured me, explained all the other scenarios that were much more likely the culprit for my abnormal chest scan, and turned out to be correct. Never charged for anything other than the office visit co-pay. MA always gets details about prescriptions and other tests 100%, never have to go back or wrangle with pharmacist over anything. Nothing but good experiences with the Dr. as well as his kind office staff.

Let me first start off by saying that I believe the office staff and how they bill is a direct reflection of how any doctor operates his practice.I went to Lung and Sleep Disorder Center on Sillect Ave to determine if I had sleep Apnea. I was recommended to do an at home sleep study where they give you a machine to take home and record your sleeping vitals. I had asked two front desk staff if my insurance would cover it, just so there wouldnt be any surprises, and both said the study would be covered. After having that conversation I did not expect to have any out of pocket costs. A month later I get a bill in the mail and I called asking to explain why I received the bill since I was told it was covered. The billing company, they use an outside company to do their billing, explains that insurance covers only a certain portion and the rest is up to patient to cover. I totally understand that this is normal practice by the insurance company but after being told by the staff that your insurance covers it I felt misled to believe that there would be no out of pocket costs. I say fine and pay thinking I would be done.Fast forward another month, I get yet another bill in the mail. After paying the first bill I was confused as to what this bill was for. Turns out this bill was for the follow up when the physicians assistant or nurse practitioner read the sleep study results. The doctor has all right to charge for a follow up visit, but never in my history of seeing a doctor or anyone elses I know history of seeing a doctor has an office charged for the follow up visit to read results for MRIs, blood work, lab tests, etc. Its just common courtesy to either have called and let me know that the results were negative and/or included the cost with the first visit. The icing on the cake was getting a copy of the lab results. Ive had tests like X-rays done where offices will put the image and results on a CD just for patient information, all included. This office has a flat $25 charge on any print out. That came as a big surprise and they did not have an option to electronically send it either. I begrudgingly pay since the physician assistant only spent two minutes to say the results were negative.I could go on about the practice but this was my main disappointment. It was an overall negative experience especially for the service that was given and what I felt like was a money grab.
