If you want to get the drug and/or alcohol addiction off your back this is the place. Youll learn humility, patience, discipline, but the most important thing is youll get tools youll use not only for your recovery but also in improving every area in your life. Thank you Stonegate and all the caring staff!

Other facilities will take your money and your insurance’s money and you can have a cell phone, a laptop, weekly visitations, and attend meetings if you choose.and have some “feel good, fruity little therapy sessions” and leave the facility without the “real tools” necessary to stay sober! I went to one of those places and was drunk in a month! I searched Stonegate Center out and chose the facility because I knew I had to get sober or die! Stonegate is an “addiction bootcamp!” The facility will hold you accountable and you in turn will hold those around you accountable. Most importantly, I left with the spiritual tools necessary for me to stay sober in the real world! I have been sober for over 4 months and I owe that daily reprieve from addiction to the principles I learned at Stonegate. And believe me, I was an addict of the hopeless variety with over 25 years of slavery to alcohol. It is well organized, safe, and the counselors and staff, for the most part, are recovered addicts. Today, I am happy, content, and free because I practice some simple steps! These simple steps were acquired at Stonegate and today I am sober! Thank God!

Changed my life in only positive ways. The staff there has one goal in mind and that is to take a broken man and turn him into something he could never dream of. I am a testament of that. Stonegate Center is one of a kind!! I knew I needed help for a long time but wasnt sure where to start. My sister found this place in Texas. Being from Kansas I was along way from home but never felt away from home. The staff really cares about the clients! Everything done at Stonegate has a purpose. The counselors helped me find faith in God again and taught me the 12 steps and how to live them. Even after Stonegate their discharge staff is excellent. They found me a sober living to live in. Thank you Stonegate👏

Going to Stonegate center was probably the best decision I’ve made in my life. Struggled with addiction for 16 years and been to 5 treatment centers prior to Stonegate and never found the answer to my problem. They give a real solution at this place and I know a new peace and happiness in life. Staff was all very professional and helpful and I would recommend this place to anyone who really wants to get sober and stay sober.Jeff Whitman

Incredible program with amazing and experienced staff. Stonegate was my 4th treatment center and it was, by far, the most quality treatment Ive ever experienced. They challenged me daily to examine myself and I am all the better for it. If youre dead serious about wanting to get out of the cycle of addiction, this is the place for it. All they ask is for you to show that youre willing to go any lengths for your sobriety. If youre at that stage in your addiction, Stonegate will guide you to a solution.

I am 1 month out of Stonegate and sober, by the grace of God! I read through the reviews and thought I would add in my 2 cents for those seeking help. It takes a minute to get use to the very strict structure of the program. I went based on the fact it, as it states, is faith based. Their meaning of this is NOT Christian it is the belief system of a HIGHER POWER. Do not be mislead. I am pretty well versed in a biblical sense and was told by another Client from the lead RA who was gossiping to others that while in Bible Study I should tone down reading scripture because not everyone believes in God. I told an RA they should remove anything that eludes to Christian Facility and was harshly reprimanded because they technically are faith based but not only Christian. I was explained to that you can base your faith on a turtle and worship it or whatever. Thats fine by me but so misleading. Just be aware!!Response from the owner a month ago(Stonegate)Tom, thanks for your feedback. We never want our clients to have a bad experience so well bring this up at our executive meeting this May. However, Id like to clarify some of the comments made in your post in hopes of clearing up any confusion, especially since some arent accurate. First, we are 100% a Christian facility and thats evidenced by our morning and nightly devotionals, Bible Study groups, integration of the 12-Step principles with Scripture, as well as our Sunday morning church sessions. Not to mention, our Executive Director received his Masters from the Dallas Theological Seminary so faith is an extremely important part of our treatment program and always has been since our inception in 2010.Next, If you wish to leave and decided Stonegate is NOT for you, before your scheduled release date, they make it difficult to leave. I think its a wise idea as most of us addicts/alcoholics are just plain angry but again another deception of how individuals are treated. You are NOT allowed a phone call to family for a safe discharge, you ARE walked down a steep hill and must climb over a gate with your belongings, then left on a dirt road more than 8 miles from anything and in my books NOT SAFE. I have witnessed several incidence of this procedure.Stonegate states otherwise:Response from the owner:We have a 24-hour discharge policy if you want to leave AMA (Against Medical Advice). So, if we feel you are endangering yourself by leaving treatment early, wed need 24 hours to facilitate a safe discharge to a family member. By your comments, it looks like you didnt abide by the policy and decided to grab your belongings and leave our campus against the doctors orders, without letting us arrange safe transport.Lastly, I was severely mistreated by one staff member (Amy) who is NOT a 12 stepper. She treated me like dirt. So much so that other members of our community rallied around me and would step in when she would start belittling me. There were a lot of tears shed because I could do NOTHING about it. I would be threatened with disciplinary measures if I disagreed with her. It was every single shift and all of the other ladies were just as mortified as I was. I am not a very tall lady and she would tower over me for any thing she could think of. It was like something you would see in a movie mean. The other ladies took care of me and would have to have my back when she was cruel. Not sure why they would hire a staff member that has no idea how to navigate through the 12 step program, addict or not.I DID get what I needed out of the program but it is NOT for the faint of heart.Blessings to you who read this and your journey. You can do what ever you set out to do in your recovery!Best of luck!

I’m a die-hard Stonegate Center fan, through and through. And, I love everything about this place. My first taste of Stonegate Center came in 2010 when when we sent our cousin here for drug and alcohol treatment. He was a member of the first class that ever passed through its doors - back when it was just one red barn. Now, it’s exploded into a 125+ acre campus and with two gender-separate areas for men and women, and is staffed by some of the best, hard-working employees this area offers.I love this place as a family member of a former client, but now even more as an employee. I was lucky enough to be hired on as a Business Development Representative a couple years out of college and haven’t looked back since. The thing about Stonegate is that it’s designed to be tough. It’s designed to challenge you and to cause you to take a deep, introspective look into the disease of addiction and how it’s negatively impacted your (and your family’s) life. We don’t want you coming through our program saying, “Eh, it was okay.” Frankly, we want to make you into the best person you can be, and that requires work. A daily grind. If you’re looking for easy treatment or an easy way out, look elsewhere. We want to help our clients acheive longterm sobriety and just be well-rounded, badass pillars in their community. And to do so, Stonegate hires strong, passionate, and empowering people who aren’t afraid to tell you the honest truth. But, who will also do anything to save your life.I’m blessed to be able to learn from Stonegate’s excellent clinicians (Satchel, Will, Jacobie, Jim, Clint, Tara, Julia, Alfredo, and everyone else). They’ve educated me on clinical psychology and the therapeutic approaches that go into our clients’ treatment. Not to mention, they’ve even helped coach me through my own personal struggles. They’re phenomenal. As for our admissions team (Donna & Dusty), they work their tail off. When I cut out of work, they’re still in the War Room talking to clients, parents, other members in the Recovery Community - all to make sure each client lands somewhere safe and with all the tools necessary for sobriety. These guys are on call 24/7/365, and are the voice you first hear when you call us at 3am needing help. Now, to the real heroes... the men and women who get no credit but affect the most change: our Recovery Advocates, Program Directors, and Client Services Personnel. These guys (Allison, Stephanie, Alaina, Hannah, James, Austin & Austin, Dylan, Lester, Gino, Zach, Jason, Kelsey & Kelsey, Meghann, David, Josh, Martin, have taught me everything about the 12-Steps and Recovery. And just like our clients, they have no problem holding me accountable or telling me when I’m wrong. But, man, they rock! They go out of their way to sit with our clients, go through each step, hold everybody to a higher standard, and save lives. If you asked me 5 years ago what I thought my future would look like, I never would have imagined myself here. But, God has a way of pushing us in the right direction. I’ve never been more proud to work for a company in my life. And, I hope I can be an effective resource in the community and make recovery fun for our clients. Here’s to a bright future!-JE

This place saved my life!I was from a very small town and knew little to nothing when it came to addiction and/or recovery. I knew I needed help but had no clue where to start. The staff here were truly looking out for me and got me where I needed to go. This was my first treatment center to go to and the experience was one I will never forget! Once I was shown the solution, I was able to find that happiness and peace that I once enjoyed. Now with God and the toolkit that was presented to me at Stonegate, I no longer have to live in fear. I can look the universe in the eye and be serene. I recommend this place to any and all who want to be free of drug and alcohol addiction. It saved my life, and it could save yours as well.

One of a kind rehab for those who are in serious need of assistance in kicking their addiction/alcoholism. From the great RAs to the wonderful medical team, this place has top notch quality and care. Without a doubt, I would no longer be here on this earth without my much needed time at Stonegate. I first arrived in August 2020, (having no previous experience with any rehab program) I was greeted with open arms from the clients and immediate care from staff. Soon after I was taught the ropes in regards to the very purposeful day to day curriculum, (which may seem overwhelming at first , but it is absolutely vital in achieving sobriety) which brought structure in my life for the first time. The curriculum included an intensive study of the big book and the Bible, (And much more) which are taught and elaborated in a manner where both coincide together to help teach a healthy way of living. The program is a strict but forgiving process to help ones in active addiction find a much needed discipline that will lead them in achieving sobriety. I was only 18 when I decided to attend Stonegate and best believe I was a faithless, lazy, and disrespectful addict; now things have completely turned around for the better and my life now has purpose once again (still sober to this day!). If you are serious about changing your life , GO TO STONEGATE!P.S. - the food is incredible, shoutout chef! Also shoutout Dave and Trevor! I was recently let go as an employee. I had never been written up, and had asked for a reason. Because Texas is an “at will” state, they weren’t required to give one. Ironically, two days prior to this I had disclosed major documented hipaa violations. This seems retaliatory to me. I came here because of the supposed Biblical and Big Book philosophies that were supposed to be touted. However, after teaching a Big Book meeting, I was counseled to only teach Big Book and no Bible during those sessions. I had merely drawn a correlation between the Big Book principle of Step 3 and Proverbs 3:5.

Johnny gave me a tour of the place and wow! I should’ve come months ago and now I’m a little upset I didn’t. Johnny kept trying to get me out here to see all he was doing and I kept putting it off. Before I toured this place, I originally thought a rehab center was a cold, hospital-like setting that everyone dreads like in the movies. But I was VERY wrong. When i walked in you could tell how warm and welcoming everyone is-- The people were actually happy and positive. It was a very refreshing and hopeful atmosphere. I got to see the men’s center and the construction for the new men’s residence wing. He also showed me the womens center which was definitely impressive! I hope to be able to work with y’all soon. Perhaps well get to have mutual patients in the future, ones who need both eye care from myself and the help and support Stonegate offers. I hope to come back out soon! -Dr. Jackie Le

They did a great job with open house, keeping the visitors cool with snow-cones and super large industrial fans. The families and professionals that we brought to the hilltop were as impressed, if not more than , I was. So doctors and health specialist raved about the beautiful new facility. The Womens Center was a gorgeous, carefully crafted complex sitting perfectly at the top of the hill on the property. They really took the time to create a home and to make sure that the women who stay there will have all their needs met. The walls are lined with gorgeous positive statements and exercise equipment. I will start by saying this place is absolutely beautiful to behold. Looks can be deceiving.I traveled out of state to attend this program only to be asked to leave within hours of being admitted. I was not even given 24 hours to acclimate to my new environment. Tara was the therapist assigned to me. Apparently she doesn’t feel like she should be asked about her qualifications because she became frustrated and impatient with my most basic of questions.Shortly after that I was being asked to leave without being given any justifiable reason.I was ostracized. I was given up on without even given a chance. It’s an embarrassment to the mental health and substance abuse profession. I traveled from out of state so it took my partner several hours to come pick me up. I wasn’t allowed to wait to be picked up among the other residents. I was made to pack my things immediately and forced to stay in a room alone from 3:00 pm until 10:00pm when my partner finally got there. They even went so far as to make me sit in the room alone in the DARK once it was lights out. I was not allowed my phone the entire time I was waiting nor was I allowed to use the phone to call my partner during this time. It was a tramauric experience to say the least. It’s shameful that this place gave up on a suffering addict simply looking for help.

My husband just left there because he was eaten alive by bed bugs! They called me and said they had to take him to the ER because he received a bug bite and had a slight reaction, however, ensured me that they are taking great care of him! He requested to leave after 5 days of bites all over his body and they walked him to the gate and refused him a phone call or his belongings. He walked 8 miles before getting picked up on Hwy 20 by some very great people and drove him to Arlington. Had he been hit and killed, he wouldnt of had any identification on him. They lied to me and said he took off complaining that they were not taking care of him. She told me that the Sherriffs dept was notified and will look be looking for him. I was very upset at him for leaving until I saw how badly he was bitten at their facility. She completely lied to me.

After over 20 years of suffering from alcoholism and depression I came to Stonegate in February 2018 a broken man. There I found a group of professionals who know what they’re doing. It’s a demanding and rigorous program. Don’t let the serene setting fool you! If you’re able to be open, honest and willing and take their suggestions, recovery is waiting for you. I left three months later with the tools and mindset to live a life in recovery; a happy, healthy life full of optimism about my future! In the process I also regained my faith in God and made some amazing friends. Did I mention the food? I also left with a few more pounds of “love”.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Stonegate Center to friends, family and colleagues. As a retired career emergency room nurse supervisor as well as a nurse educator, I have seen firsthand the devastating affects of addiction on patients and families. I was extremely lucky to be invited to Sunday service with the men today, and it was awe-inspiring. A former client came back with a few of his friends from church and put on one heck of a service. They sang, jammed out on their guitars, and then he laid down one of the best sermons I’ve heard in a while. Plus, the guys seemed to relate really well with him since he’s been in their shoes. He talked about hope, service, the 12-steps and God all from the perspective of someone who has suffered from drug and alcohol addiction for years. He was a stand-up dude, super nice, but also really funny. And after he was done, those guys just swarmed him and couldn’t stop talking to him. It was truly amazing to witness and a testament to all the life-changing moments that happen at a place like Stonegate Center. I’m glad I got to be a part of it.

And although people don’t like hearing the harsh truth from you, it’s so critical for long term healing in addiction. I hope your team can put a huge dent in the opioid epidemic #TeamStonegate

Stonegate is a place that saves and changes lives. The deadly disease of addiction is killing millions and Stonegate’s approach to save your life may seem intensive and uncomfortable- but it works. If you have taken vacations to rehab more than once, maybe it’s time for the discipline, accountability, and lasting hope that this program provides. The RAs have recovered from this disease and know their business as well as anyone, and the entire staff deeply cares for its clients. I’m grateful to stonegate for challenging me, and for helping me prioritize and rediscover my life and purpose.

This place is awful. The clinicians are not qualified and are liars. These counselors curse during Bible study and are completely inappropriate. They put 10 men in 1 room to sleep. The bunk beds are tiny and you cant sleep due to the meth addict that has only detoxed 2 days prior to intake and is throwing up and screaming all night. This place is a nightmare.

Coming to Stonegate, I had no idea what to expect except that I was trusting them to help me just “get better”.... and I’m blessed that God led me there to be loved on, broken down, and be given the tools to be able to live life— even write this review. The facilities are beautiful, there is no doubt that there was a thought given to each and every detail. This is a place not only for healing but for rebuilding. The staff there will always hold a dear place in my heart because of their willingness to share their stories and fight alongside me in compassion and the strength they have from a Power Greater than Themselves.I learned more in the 60 days there about myself than I can express through the guidance and wisdom of each member of the staff there. (not all the things I learned were welcomed lessons, but necessary!)I can write this today as a changed woman because of my time there at Stonegate and I am forever grateful. If you or someone you know are struggling and ready for a different way to do life— get to Stonegate!

Each step is designed to evoke change, challenge your thought processes, and prepare you to become better. Every dollar made goes directly back into the facility and programs. From helping patients navigate insurance coverage to maintaining post-treatment life lines, every detail has been covered. We were in the library, and I overheard him on the phone talking about addiction, rehab, drugs, insurance, and church, but I couldn’t piece together what he did. So he showed me their site and I became an instant fan! This place is seriously awesome, guys. He keeps bugging me to film a testimonial series or get some drone footage, and I’m all about it! My friend had their insurance deny them coverage and those dudes fought like crazy with United HealthCare to get him covered. Like, I’m talking weeks of back and forth with phone calls and emails just so he wouldn’t have pay anything extra out of pocket. When he first told me what he did, I almost spit out my coffee. Rehab? Addicts? Ummm okay. I only heard about that stuff through gossip like, “Did you hear so-and-so’s in rehab?” I didn’t realize that the recovery community runs so deep and that everybody’s really tight-knit. It’s like you get the opportunity to be a part of an exclusive sober fraternity or sorority once you go through a place like Stonegate. And, that’s so cool - whether you’re in recovery or not. I had the opportunity to speak to the women at Stonegate Center Hilltop a couple weeks ago, and I was extremely blown away. Tbh I wish I went to treatment at a place like this! Regardless, the staff and clients were an amazing audience while I told my story. They only budgeted an hour for my talk but we talked for more than 2. All because the ladies were so engaged, asked a ton of questions, and we couldn’t stop talking about all things addiction, mental health, gender identity, and abuse. Background: I stumbled upon these guys through Instagram... one of their BD reps saw my page, reached out to me, and the next thing you know we’re on a phone call talking about which weekends I can fly out to Texas (my non-profit is based in California). It was really crazy how it all came together, but I’m so glad it did. Then, I got to take pictures with Happy, their mini-donkey! The rating here of Stonegate Center in Azle Texas is very misleading - considerinhg 45 reviews are from people who have only toured, visited, heard of Stonegate or were employees of Stonegate. It appears that Stonegate requested each visitor to review them on the basis of a tour or a class attended there. Visitors cannot know what goes on behind closed doors from just a look-see! And employees can certainly be biased - for obvious reasons. When you look at the (only) 5 reviews of people who actually received treatment at Stonegate you can see a much different picture: 5 reviews of actual patients - 3 with 1 star and 2 with 5 stars....drops the rating to about a 2.5 stars among a tiny group of actual clients.I’d like to add another review as a family member of someone who was ‘treated’ at Stonegate Center....0 stars, nada, zip! But I had to add one star in order to post this review.Worse than receiving useless treatment from Stonegate by Stonegate employees and NP Is the fact that the treatment was harmful to the patient. This loved one was administered BY STONEGATE CENTER unnecessary Narcotics and a plethora of other drugs, even though they were unwarranted. Then, after 22 days of suffering horrible side effects and having no access to call for help, the patient was transferred to a hospital to get detoxed from the drugs Stonegate Center administered. For this 22 day maltreatment of their patient/client Stonegate Center retained payment for 45 days of therapy.Stonegate Center in Azle TX refused to help pay the 6 days of hospitalization necessary to detox the patient from drugs they (Stonegate) administered. No one from Stonegate Center in Azle TX called to check on the patient at any time during the hospital stay or after dismissal, No one from Stonegate Center will respond to phone calls.DON’T RISK YOUR LIFE OR THE LIFE OF A LOVED ONE BY ENTERING THIS FACILITY .....unless, of course, you are just touring the peaceful surroundings!

As a former employee, I have nothing but good things to say about Stonegate. I think one of the best things about this facility is that it is locally-owned and operated so you know the client always comes first - 100% of the time. That team goes to bat for their clients like when someone has an upcoming court date, needs FMLA paperwork filled out, or even when an insurance company doesnt want to cover your stay. Although that often goes unnoticed since its not common knowledge, thats soooo important when choosing which program to send your loved one to. I mean from the moment you step foot on their property, you just feel a positive vibe or aura around you and you just know youre in the right place. Since working in the mental and behavioral health field over the past several years, I have gotten to know many programs across the country and although many of them do incredible things, and I have to say that Stonegates dedication to their clients is unmatched. From the top down, each staff member works relentlessly to get those guys (and now girls!) thinking straight and working through their traumas. I have come to really admire both personally and professionally that team over there in Azle. And honestly, I miss them. I have seen many people show up to Stonegate with this rock bottom mentality, yet left drastically transformed and empowered. They have this hard-knocks approach where they really challenge your line of thinking and keep you accountable, which is, frankly, what you need. I have personally referred family members here and expect nothing but great things for the future of Stonegate. Sorry for the wall of text! Thanks guys :)

As a current PhD student in Psychology, previous degrees of BA in Psych from Texas A&M & MA in Counseling from Northwestern, I was completely captivated by Stonegates facilities, personnel, and overall comittment to the process of serving those who struggle with addiction. Alison and Will have done a phenomenal job designing a faith-based program that encourages a healthy level of accountability from the clients, while also emphasizing self-reflection, insight into personal behavioral mannerisms, and potential problem areas (i.e., biases, errors, & reasoning). Individual sessions, process groups, and interactive scheduled activities keep clients busy while fostering a loving and understanding environment for clients and others.Additionally, Stonegates commitment to being ahead of the curve with new additions to their facilities is what sets them apart from other treatment facilities. The new additions of the Womens Hilltop Center, the Equestrian Center, and ropes course have provided Stonegate with powerful resources for their clients. Providing hands on physical activities that when engaged in can provide tremendous concrete information for the client to reflect on later in said individual sessions or process groups. In my opinion, Stonegate is going to and will continue to hold itself on how they can provide and foster a better healing experience for their clients. Continuously challenging themselves to reflect on how new additions and processes can benefit the overall well-being of the facility as a whole and especially for each individual client who decides to tackle the troubles of addiction. 10/10

Ive been working as a security consultant for this organization for quite some time now. We have provided physical security as well as video surveillance for many of their locations over the years and these guys are some of the most down-to-earth people youll ever meet. In fact, theyre the only people I trust when I have a question about recovery, addiction and what to do when someone is showing signs of alcoholism or drug abuse. At the risk of oversimplifying what Will Stoy and his crew do, they rip the bandaid off and give you some hard-knocks, grassroots addiction recovery. Theyre rockstars in my book! I’ve worked with them since they opened on the backend side of things as their go-to IT Consultant, and I don’t have a bad thing to say. The staff from the top down always shakes my hand, tells me thank you after I fix something, and is very respectable. I think I expected something rundown and shady when I made my first on-site visit in 2010, but I was sorely mistaken. Think: Sobriety Summer Camp x1000. The Executive Director and the President have been joking about putting up a “mini-donkey cam” for one of their more well-known therapy animals and as much as they think it’s a silly idea, I’m all in. They seem to always be thinking of what’s next. They are always thinking of how to be more innovative, how to be more impactful, and that work ethic rubs off. Thanks for letting me be involved with you, Stonegate! After spending many years in an institution I really did not want to go to another. But I knew I needed help with something I could not do on my own and that was staying sober. It not only provides a safe environment for you to gain trust back in yourself and towards humanity as a whole but arms you with the tools you will need in order to go back out into the world and face any trouble that may befall you. It’s my opinion that any person addict or not would benefit from a center like Stonegate in order to navigate this world with discernment and humility. They genuinely care about those they help and have centered their lives around the rebirth of a new and sober minded person. I will never regret making the decision to intertwine my life with the Stonegate facility and staff.
