Very professional and knowledgeable staff! I used their online scheduling tool and had absolutely no issues. I was able to get in last minute on a Friday morning for my injured puppy. They were able to do a full work up on him and I left very pleased knowing we took him to the right place. They were so gentle with him and really made sure to show individual care. They even allowed my husband and myself inside for in-person visits with masks! Love love love the in-person visits again. I will absolutely be switching all my animals over to this office.

The staff here is great, I just recused a dog in August and they got me in right away for a check-up a shots. We are so happy we found Desert Ark Veterinarian. They treated my Cookie with care. Thank you so much!!

Just moved to AZ and got a new house. Brought our fur babies home. My little kitten weve only had for a year, whom came to me sick needed care. Shes been in and out of the vet so often already. I took her as a walk in to Desert Ark and they took great care of her! Even, though in the end we had to allow her to cross that Rainbow Bridge, they allowed us to stay with her and hold her outside in the sunlight where she loved to be! They were all so kind and caring and you really felt like they cared what you were going through and wanted to help in anyway! Cremation didnt cost nearly what it would have in Cali where we came from. They will call me when her remains are ready. Thank you Desert Ark for truly making us feel like you really care! It means a lot to a hurting Mamma.

I personally called down here to see if they took walk ins. They didnt but because of her infection on her face they told me that if we were here at 9:30 am she would be taken back and seen right away.9:30 we arrived and we were told she couldnt be seen until the doctor comes in at 10, so it would be 20:30.10:30 rolls around and still hasnt been seen. We were then told she was up next.11:25 I walked in and asked when she will be seen and they told me that there were animals with emergencies that are here and we e have to wait.I unpleasantly said, my dogs eye is swollen, infected and bleeding, Im sure thats an emergency and walked out. 11:40 they took her back.Very unhappy with the front staff, especially since I was told she would be seen at 9:30. Will NEVER come back here EVER AGAIN

I’ve been reading the reviews and thought a lot of these weren’t fair... I’m blaming Covid. I just took my elderly moms dog to this hospital. Nobody would get her little dog in. I understand... our regular vet is backed up.Desert Ark had a full parking lot. There we’re a few spaces available. I thought my wait time would be astronomical. They quoted me up to 5 hours but they had me in and out in less than 3 hours. Under promise and over deliver is definitely their goal!First of all, they let me inside. Their entry way was clean and presentable. The lady at the desk greeted me in. I could see her smile from behind her mask!The technician asked me questions about my moms dog and clearly communicated with the vet, because the vet repeated everything to me. So I was happy at the communication here. They took a look at my moms dog and came up with a list of things we could do. I was so impressed that I wanted to do it all. They were sweet to my moms dog. When she came back from their procedure area, I felt trust and contented. They checked me out in room.I was walked up to the front of house where the same young lady greeted me to give me my paperwork back. And you can just feel the care the staff has for each other. A very rare sight these days.They’re truly in it for us. The owners and the animals. Thank you Desert Ark. for seeing us when nobody would and for being so kind. When our vet retires you can sign me up!

Very happy with my experience. The staff answered all my questions and i felt confident that Leo was in good care even though he stayed overnight. I called in and got updates without issues Little Leo is back to his usual self running wild and scattering his toys all over the house.

I was a basket case. They were so good with my Fredo and Enzo. Fredo has eye issues and seeing. I was so scared. They made me feel at ease took wonderful care and I am extremely grateful 🙏

I sat outside for 20 minutes to wait for a checkup for my Pomeranian. I did not receive a checkup until an hour later and I am hearing employees laugh in the hall while service is not complete. I believe that is completely unprofessional and with the amount of staff it should have not taken more than an hour to get service. This is unprofessional establishment. Camel West Animal Hospital costumer service is completely better and way more efficient. I got care for my dog in less than 10 minutes and a proper diagnostic; therefore, the wait and unprofessional laughing and lack of working is a symbol of the catalyst of it’s unprofessionalism.

One day my cat was normal and happy, and the next he was crippled with nausea. The vets here scheduled my appointment that morning for the afternoon. The results of the tests came back fast, but they werent good: my poor little guy was in renal failure, and could not be saved.Desert Ark walked us through every step. The techs and assistants were kind and honest. The vet sat on the floor with my 5-year-old daughter and gently explained that her favorite kitty was in a lot of pain and wouldnt get better. That the kindest thing to do would be to let him go. They offered to return his ashes or give us a paw print cast, but we decided that his dirty old collar would be the most meaningful memento.Im not sure what these negative reviews are based on. Veterinary services are not cheap, nor should they be. But there were no surprises in the bill. Everything was fair, and everyone was knowledgeable and nice. Notice that Desert Ark took the time to reply to almost all of these reviews, good or bad. They treat their customers almost as well as they treat the pets that are brought to them.

I just wasnt to thank Desert Ark for getting us in when no one else could. Everywhere in the west valley was booked until mid July. Even Blue Pearl was on pause & our dog needed attention sooner than later! They hit her in treated & sent home in a very reasonable time. Greatly appreciated!!

My dog was attacked by German Shepherd. I took her for medical treatment. The doctor just looked at her and said she would be fine. He gave her pain medicine and my dog passed away 2 days later. He never offered to do X-ray or even do a correct examination. Don’t take you fur babies there.

I went in last night as a last resort for my cat. He had Been acting weird and I knew he was sick. I knew he wouldn’t make it past the night if I didn’t get help. I was reading reviews and was scared to go here because of them. But despite that, my cat needed help. So off we went. We arrived at desert ark and were answered instantly. By the description of my cat they knew or had an idea of what he had. It was a stat, so they came and took him all in less than 5 minutes from me arriving. The staff was always in constant communication with me informing me of things going on. And we’re patient when I was trying to figure out the whole financial aspect of the situation. The staff was insanely nice , and I’m so grateful for that. Also the fact that the vet was extremely transparent with me in the situation. He didn’t sugar coat anything.Unfortunately my cats case was just too progressed and there was no use in making him suffer any further. Even then, they were so helpful and walked us through the whole process. They let us in to say our final goodbyes to our baby. Even left the room to leave us with Him for a bit. I couldn’t stay and watch him take his last breaths, it was just too unbearable for me. But they never judged and I’m so extremely grateful that they tried their best to make sure he was not suffering anymore. Definitely recommend this place.

Desert Ark Veterinary Care is the best! My little guy had ear pain and there was no vet that took in same day visit unless he was in extremely critical pain. But one call to Desert Ark and they had him seen within a couple hours with a full exam and medication. I highly recommend this place to anyone that needs vet care right away or by appointment only. A few weeks ago i took my fur baby Bailey in, she was not going to the restroom like she does, she didnt seem like herself either, her vet is usually VCA but they were book , i couldnt find any vet to take her , until blue pearl suggested me to take her to desert ark, right away they told me i could get a walk in and that the wait would be 3 hours but it didnt seem like three hours, they took her in and were very compassionate about my situation , they were very clear about what my fur baby had , the staff here is very lovely and they truly care for animals.. thank you so much

I went there on an emergency basis, this was the only vet I could find that would see him on short notice. They came out to the car and triaged my puppy rather quickly. Luckily he was not critical. The staff were amazing, not a single negative person in the bunch. The vet was extremely through and explained the reasoning behind his treatment plan. I was there for a total 2.5 hrs, but considering how busy they were and I had to be worked in, I would say that was a reasonable amount of time. I am new in town and think I’ve found my veterinarian.Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Ive lived close to Desert Ark for over 15 years. In the past, I would drive 20 miles to another vet because I wasnt happy with the previous owners/management. I have four pets and recently decided to give the new owners a try. I think they are great. The staff are friendly and professional. The vet spent alot of time answering all my questions. I really appreciated that. Their prices are fair too. I will continue to bring my pets there.

My dog wiggle butt had a bad seizure this morning. I couldnt get him into my vet but they recommend taking him to an urgent care. I do not like BLUE PEARl so they recommend this emergency vet. I took him at the time they told they were accepting urgent care. I have to say the the staff and the Dr were amazing. I had to leave him there but they kept calling to give me updates and to help me find the meds I would need for him. The Dr explainedto everything to me on what they were going to do and what tests they would run. I highly recommend this vet.

Great Clinic! The front desk gal was so kind, nice, and had amazing customer service! I took my puppy in 6/5 for both vomiting, and diarrhea as well as dehydration. We did a parvo test which thankfully came back negative. With the way my puppy was looking the veterinarian mentioned that he only had 1-2 days and to prepare myself, since he didnt know what was going on and I also didnt want to spend $1,000s out the door, thankfully its now been 5 days and the puppy looks back to 100%! . He had worms which I self treated with a Sure Shot 2x dewormer followed by dog- friendly antibiotics over the counter. I was able to purchase a IV bag at the clinic to do at home which helped plenty since hospitalization is too expensive. Thank you Desert Ark for listening to my concerns, and giving me options to treat my pup! 10/10 would come again for any pet emergencies!

I came in for an urgent care visit for my lab. Called in when I arrived and was told “a tech will be out to check you in and make sure your dog is stable”. (I understand emergencies happen). I sat in my truck for over an hour and no one came to check if my fur baby was stable. Will not be using this vet.

Called around and six different animal hospitals told me they were to busy to him and would only get him in four to five weeks away. Luckily I called Desert Ark on a recommendation and they got my pup, Kratos an appointment within hours and treated his broken toe with great care. The entire staff was friendly and showed a true love for animals. They answered all my questions, which was a lot, and showed me complete respect while answering all my questions. I don’t regret driving 30 minutes to go here and they will be our new vets for both our pups even with the distance, bc you can’t overlook great care for your pups.

Seriously BS and unprofessional. Made an appointment for health certificates for my pets due to moving in a couple weeks and even just sent their paperwork over yesterday to their email saying this is for my pets appointment for Heath certificates. Wasted my time and money when I took an UBER there with 2 cats just for them to tell me the person there that substituted the vet cannot make health certificates. IT WOULDVE BEEN NICE IF THEY TOLD THAT US that AHEAD OF TIME or a simple phone call. Called for time out of work this morning because I needed them and now I have to come in next week. Been there a few times with my sons puppy and now my puppy. Just to name a few - Fallon and Brittney - techs - wonderful, loving, and caring - I never feel rushed explaining my situation. Dr. Dennis recently handled my maltipoos spaying and Cherry Eye surgery. He called me to thoroughly explain and even came out to the car to chat as opposed to their COVID over the phone. Delightful and you can loves his job. Dr. Griggs is another fabulous vet who is so professional. Highly recommend - they even have appointments on Saturdays!!

I went to Desert Ark Veterinary about 2 weeks ago .I took in a sample for my puppy to get tested and paid $70 to get the test done and was told it would take up from 5 to 7 days for results.Well today would be over ten days and I called for results only to be told that they lost my dogs sample and if I could please bring another free of charge.....WOW! If my dog was sick or if he is they did nothing to help if anything they made it worse not only making me wait longer while my dog could be getting sicker but also taking my hard worked for money only to not do what you had paid for.....I suggest everyone go somewhere else and make sure its not Desert Ark because they are very unprofessional.

Revised. The owner reached out and thank you. They do have compassion just a few kinks in the process of customer service caused my frustration. It will get better. I do know I took Clyde to the right place for care. Yes care isnt cheap but they do provide great treatment.

Nearly $500 for nothing. They said the painful bump on my dogs leg might be cancer and we needed to take an x-ray. Then they said they needed $800 more because the first x-ray only rules out one type of cancer. The visit was a mess from the beginning. They were trying to charge me hundreds of dollars for unnecessary medicine and that was before they took any x-ray or got any Diagnostics or any information on what was wrong with him. The doctor high pressures you to get treatment and buy unnecessary medicine.

Horrible service and communication. Took our cat in because he was having a hard time breathing. Just for him to be seen after normal hours they werent going to charge us the usual 118 deposit, they asked for 500 deposit. Waited over an hour before they came out with the pricing for what they were going to do and found out they did a procedure we did not even approve for using up the 500 deposit. They claimed because we gave the 500 it gave them the right to do what was in the best interest. Even though we informed that we were not wanting to spend that much and they said if it is not all used then we would get the money back. Doctor claimed he was a priority but they had 5 other animals in front of him. They did the one procedure because they were afraid he was dying (even though the doctor claimed they already believed it was fluid in the lungs) and he still died within the two hours of him being there.

I have been taking my Golden (Ryleigh) here since she was 9 weeks old and she is now a year old. I have been amazed with the environment and staff since the very first visit. Dr. Velez is by far the best vet I’ve come in contact with since I started coming here. She is extremely knowledgeable and eager to make sure you understand everything as the pet owner. In the past, I have had trouble with vets giving huge medical terms but not breaking it down to a level an owner can understand. Plus, not only am I in LOVE with Ryleigh’s level of care but the staff is incredible! Every visit I’ve had, I walk in and it doesn’t matter who is working they know Ryleighs name and immediately get down on the floor to greet her. They truly make you and your animal feel like you’re family. If you’re looking for an amazing place for animal care with the feeling of family chose Desert Ark, you will not regret it! ❤️

I took my dog in for a prolapse after she went into heat. They were able to get her in right away. The whole Covid and having to wait outside is not fun, but they were extremely friendly and reassured me she would be okay. She is almost a week from her surgery and doing fantastic. Its also nice that they will call a few times to check up on your baby to see how she is doing. It gives you the sense that they really do care. If you are frantically looking for an ER vet right now and trying to decide, I highly recommend them. I couldnt comment on value because i dont have anything to compare to. Considering my situation was an emergency and they were able to spay and take care of everything, the cost was not too much of a shocker.

I took my dog to Desert Ark 14 days ago and i am still waiting for a call from a vet to tell me the results of an xray that i was told would take 5 to 7 days. Now I find out that the xray has been sitting in their office for 3 days. I was told that there is was a dely in getting the xray back but now this is on them, they have had it for 3 days. This is unacceptable. I can not, nor do not recommend this vet place nor will i ever go back.

Find a vet that can count. I took my dog for a severe skin issue. I chose them because they were close and could get me in next day. Exam was $59, cleaning and shaving area $49, steroid $34, antibiotic $84. I paid about $230 total. They didnt give me the correct amount of antibiotics. I dont mind paying for good care, but they are obviously absent minded. When they called to check in on my dog, I communicated the issue, was then told yes we made a mistake, but youll need to pay the difference. I paid a lot for antibiotics (well above what the same medication costs from another vet pharmacy). I was told Im sorry you feel that way when I said I didnt think I should pay for the extra medication because what I had paid for already was supposed to be the complete treatment. Im severely disappointed and will not be taking either of my dogs here again.

This was our first time there and the service was great. The vet took time to explain everything that he recommended to have done before a final diagnosis could be made along with the best financial route. I will definitely use them again

I was able to get my baby in tonight, after calling vets in the area, only to be told, They didnt have any openings for weeks. My guy was becoming ill more and more each day and I had to get him in pronto! When we arrived we were greeted with a pleasant phone call from the techs, that asked for all information about his illness. They came out and took my baby in and were constantly communicating with me. The Dr. was also very communicative, informative, and personable. I will be taking my little guy here from now on.

We had the misfortune of interacting with a Kimberly recently. I called ahead and verified the price of a service, only to be charged $250 more than the quoted price. She then just denied the initial quote ever happened and had an attitude with me for bringing up the quote in the first place. I will say the technician and doctor were very good and saved my dog, but interaction with Kimberly was so bad that I will not be returning.

After taking my baby to an emergency Vet and charging me way too much and not telling what was wrong with her, I took her here where after a couple days of trying some meds, they gave me another evaluation because the medications weren’t working and finally found out that my baby wouldn’t make it. I had to make the most difficult decision of my life. They were so caring and went above and beyond to make it as easy as possible for me and my family. They let us say goodbye to her and even sent me a sympathy card. They were just amazing and I would recommend them to anyone.

I was disappointed with the billing. I was told one thing by the attending surgeon for my dog about their insurance, and then billed differently. I specially asked if I could cancel the insurance that was presented so positively to me. I was told I could use it for the surgery and save money, then cancel without penalty at any time. I was surprised, so I questioned this and was once again told I could use it and cancel. Now, several months later, I get a call out of the blue that I owe over $200. I was told they had misunderstandings and have hired new people. So now threatened with collection agency, I was forced to pay additional money over what was originally agreed upon. Very unprofessional. Plus, the stitches that were done to my Schnoodle have left noticeable scars. Highly NOT recommended.

Absolutely love this place. The staff is so kind. My pet and I had a genuine emergency. They didn’t fuss, got us straight in and helped my poor baby girl out as a priority.We had no idea how much it would cost with us just needing to do whatever we could. I was pleasantly surprised. I walked away with my pet and money in my wallet.Thanks the the doctors and nurses here, I get to kiss my baby every day.

After calling our vet and several other hospitals and being told they were all too busy to see us, our baby was able to get in, evaluated and treated in about an hour!! All staff members that we had contact with were so sweet, caring and professional. We were provided with treatment options and explainations and estimated cost up front. We are very pleased with how everything went and will be switching both of our dogs over for further care!

I took my young adult maltese/poodle to Desert Ark. I was anxious because she is so skittish and afraid of everyone. But I was advised to see a female vet and I did. And she was just as promised. She was great I was so relieved that Miss Mollys first experience at a vet was so positive. Molly is a rescue dog and seemingly abused and/or abandoned in the past.

Rude Staff. They put you on hold for 10+ minutes, dont check up on you and when you mention the definition of brief hold you get Well i had 3 people what did you want me to do? ... I dont know? But id sure be less upset at you checking in with me every few minutes to let me know or i dunno, call me back so im not sitting there listening to your obnoxious hold music?And dont get me started on the fees. I was just given a bill of $700 dollars to neuter my kitten. $700 dollars!!!... Maricopa County Animal Shelter, WITH BLOODWORK INCLUDED and MEDS, is under $200. You have got to be kidding me. $700? This isnt Beverly Hills this is Avondale, AZ. Absolutely outrageous fees and they have no problem charging that as if customers would ever accept that!. I would have NEVER paid to have my cat neutered knowing that you were going to give me a $700 bill!Edit: Lets be clear. There was no confusion. Devonte quoted me one price over the phone, you told me another when i went to pickup my cat. I wont use you again. I will go back to my old vet. They value customers, not Cash.

Last night i had to say goodbye to my baby girl, they were kind and even stayed open passed their time so I could be with my girl just a little longer. I really appreciate the vet, he was a younger man and he told me everything I needed to know that I was making the right choice. He was very kind in my time of sadness. They took care of my girl when I didnt know what else to do for her, thank you guys so much. CeeCee thanks you guys too for relieving her from suffering.

When all the other offices had a 2 week wait, Desert Atk was able to get my baby in right away. They walked us through every step, recommended best treatment and never pushed us to do anything we didnt want to. No up selling! Caring staff, we loved our Doctor and her assistant! We will be transferring all of our pets to here!

The staff here is amazing! I have an older Cairn Terrier who has hip problems and needs to be handled in a certain way. They are always very careful with him and give him great care. Thank you so much for all your help and quick responses to my questions!

I recently brought my baby, Candy, in for a mass removal & spay surgery. I was amazed by the friendliness of the staff. Everyone was very attentive & really helped me put my mind at ease. They took great care of Candy & she is feeling so much better now! During her recovery, I became worried about her incision & they accepted my visit with no issues. The tech(I wish I could remember his name he was awesome! I’m terrible with names) helped me understand how the healing process works & helped me get more medicine for Candys pain management. Outstanding patient experience! My fur baby, Sam was well taken care of. I truly felt like his health and needs were top priority. The whole staff was super friendly, as well. Sam was welcomed and given treats to calm his nerves. I just moved to the area and this was our first time here. We will be returning!

I just wanted to extend my thank yous to your staff.I was going through a divorce recently and my cat had been having accidents around the house.I didnt have much to take him to a vet and they did a check up for him and they told me Asher was a very good patientI put him on the antibiotics that were prescribed to him and he is doing so much better now. He hasnt had accidents outside of his litter box and he has begun to use his litter box more.I truly appreciate your help and I was fearing the worst for him and I felt like I was going to lose him because I myself was having trouble finding a home for both of us and I know its even harder with an ill catI am glad that they gave him his check up and the medication has helped him get back to being healthy. I dont know how to thank you for saving his life.

I have a German shepherd dog who swallowed one of his toys, a hard rubber ball. I rushed him into Desert Ark veterinary clinic. The staff were all so wonderful. They met me at my truck and helped me get him out and inside. When they got him inside during the examination, he stopped breathing and turned purple. The had to perform emergency surgery to get the ball out. They are so awesome and the staff are wonderful! I had previously purchased the pet insurance and it covered the cost of the surgery. I am so thankful for the Doctors and staff. I have 3 dogs and 1 cat and Desert Ark takes care of all of them. I would definitely recommend them.

I had an emergency on a Saturday evening and went online and Desert Ark was the closest place. I called and they said they could see my dog immediately! I was sooo grateful. I was paniced and not sure what to do. The staff is SUPER friendly helpful and kind. I would have paid anything to have my dog treated right then and the bill was 1/5 what i expected to pay. They seem very caring and its obvious they love what they do! I will recommend them to anyone and am a customer for life!! Thank you guys. My dog is doing so much better and that means everything to us!!

I would to give Desert Ark just a one star I brought on 2yr pitbull here on Saturday for a complications pooping for 2days. Me and my fiancee came here with no other options to offer but were real quick to offer surgery DONT WORRY ITS ONLY 5300 having to choose the amenia thinking that this would help instead the veterinarian (Sarnelli) broke a peice off inside of him. Causing more and more pain having to see my buddy like that paying all this more just for the vet to tell me you know were gonna go in you know and see you know form my opinion that is not professional no I dont know Im not the doctor. They having even called or nothing. But Im so proud to say that the people here at the Animal Hospital of Laveen with doctor Fraser did everything they can to help my buddy

Ive been here twice with two of my dogs and I really do see the care they show for your pet the staff is very nice and professional the Vets are very honest and give you solutions for your problem, I will definitely come back any time I need a vet.

During the COVID-19 outbreak, they allowed walk-ins and appointments, as usual, to come but to stay in their cars. This was a great way to distance patients and staff to be as safe as possible. I admired their way of taking care of us and making sure to get all information across. They took care of my husky mix perfectly and I was incredibly happy when I left. They were all so so nice to us. This is a great, trustable place!

Everyone there was so helpful! We adopted a new kitten with only 3 legs and they answered all our questions and made her feel really comfortable during the whole check up!

I am so grateful we found this hospital, my 11 yr schnauzer had a small cyst on his eye lid that started to grow and appeared infected. We took him in for examination and I have to say the entire staff where so pleasant and caring which is a big big deal for me because my dogs are my kids and nothing makes me happier than people who treat animals with care and compassion who are sensitive to their pain. My pup ended up needing surgery for mass removal and at the same time we where getting his teeth clean (also had been concerned with his bad breath) he happened to have an infection that required him to get a few teeth removed so we got it all done the same day. That afternoon we picked him up and the doctor was super attentive and explained how everything went and gave us instructions for after care. The day after I had a few questions so I called back and my concerns where put at ease, same experience super pleasant to talk to. A week later and my pup is a a new dog he is recovering so well and I cannot thank them enough! I definitely recommend this Pet hospital and will be returning for my pups medical needs.

If I would have known I wouldnt of been able to go into the appointment with my pets I wouldnt of booked or purchased a Groupon.The wellness exam did not seem like a traditional exam it took them maybe 10 minutes at tops for 2 dogs.With having expectations that it would at least take 30 minutes from previous experiences; I went to the grocery store.Immediately after speaking to the veterinarian, I receive a call from the front desk.Front desk basically stated since I left they needed to know if id want CPR or DNR for my 2 dogs.I was offended - FIRST OFF set the expectation the wellness exam is as quick as a fast food experience.SECOND OF ALL: whoever I spoke to had the audacity and was very condescending telling me what DNR meant. I did not ask what DNR meant since I knew the meaning.Found it very frustrating telling me they could switch my dogs paperwork to a 3 year rabies shot if they knew he had it before.Update as to the response from Desert Ark :My pet has been registered in AZ with the rabies shot. Also the register number links to me and also specifically describes my pet.I appreciate the quick response.Update: 8/14/2020Reached out to me directly and assisted me on getting the 3 year rabies renewal for my pet.

Alot of the staff is friendly and Ive had a few good experiences taking my pet here, but they are extremely unorganized when it comes to pricing and records. I recently spoke with two different people about a specific service and they both gave me one price, and then when I went in to get the service the quote was much higher. And that has happened on more than one occasion. I cant decide if its a training issue, an issue with their system, or if they are intentionally doing a bait and switch. Unfortunately I cant recommend them.

So unprofessional, I signed for them to get everything done including radiography’s and they were not performed until 3 hours later when it was an emergency. Veterinarian Anne Chauvet was disrespectful and unprofessional. I asked if down payment would change they said no and when it was time to pay it was raised $200. Not happy with the service

My cat had a lump on his hind leg that turned out to be a bite from another animal. It needed to be drained and cleaned. I did some peer reviews on other sites via google and this one came highly rated.I agree and recommend this animal hospital for your pet. They were able to do a 1 day notice appointment. Dr. Roy was cordial and has quick hands because my cat snapped at him because he was in pain. Dr. Roy avoided his teeth but kept treating him with care and concern. My cat is hard to treat because does not tolerate pain at all so kudos to the staff. Its been a day after treatment with my cat at home acting like his old self and healing without complications. I would go here for all my pet needs. The front staff and vet techs were fast and professional who knew what they were doing. Facility was large and well kept. One of the best veterinary hospitals in the Buckeye area, I feel lucky to have it.

I have used Dr. Roy and his staff for years for all my pet needs (horses, dogs, cats) I love them!Very caring from the from the front desk all the way through to the check up calls!!Very informative and to the point, they dont try to sell you something that you dont really need. They give you options of extras if you want them.Dr. Roy is the only Vet that my critters actually love to see!!And they go crazy (my dogs) over Jeff!!Even though they moved a good distance from me I have stayed with them and will continue to do so.I cannot say enough good things about them. Just the reaction from my 2 dogs says it all! They are so excited to see them and we do not have to go there but only once a year!!A Big Shout Out to River Ridge!!THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING SO AWESOME!!

Wow I was shocked on what they charge for dental cleaning for pets I think its outrageous their prices start from $400 and the skys the limit I highly recommend pet Dental off of Happy Valley Road and 90th Avenue free examinations and their dental cleaning starts at $275 now remember it all depends on the severity of your dog or cats dental procedure that will be performed might be paying more. But at least one of the workers at Desert Ark veterinary did tell me that they are one of the most expensive ones in the area

Had my first office visit a week ago, took my sisters dog bow there, my sister couldn’t be here to take her because she’s in the military and currently deployed. A lot of clinics don’t let people be on their phones while consultation but the vets here were so kind to talk to my sister over FaceTime to tell her about all the care her dog will be needing, I very much respected that. I called them an hour ago because now has gotten a little worse and I’m worried and called and they were able to get me in for tomorrow early morning. Their availability is awesome! The staff and vets are very friendly and warming. Would 100% recommend this vet to all my friends and family!!

This is the best veterinary clinic I have ever been too. The staff is so accommodating to me and my little cat. Munchie has been struggling with his weight for so long and finally Dr.Velez was able to get him on a diet plan we can stick to. We are both so happy we discovered this hospital.

VERY UNORGANIZED! The staff is nice and all but when it comes to payment plans they are very unorganized all I have to say is to not sign up for plans to where they take money from your account monthly

When Desert Ark first opened up, they were awesome. The veterinarians were friendly and the prices were reasonable. In fact, they gave me a discount for my pet rescue.Then things changed. They replaced the entire staff and hired veterinary surgeons instead of regular veterinarians. The prices doubled and the surgeon veterinarians take the animals to another room while they examine your pet.The wait time also TRIPLED. Now they run an hour to 3 hours behind, and these are appointments, not walk-ins. Sitting alone in a tiny room for 3 hours is NOT my idea of fun. Its ALSO not my idea of how a business should treat its customers.They also took away my discount because my pet rescue isnt licensed. It wasnt licensed when they gave me the discount, and one of their workers adopted one of my kittens.My recommendation is to find another veterinary hospital. Desert Ark has lost everything and everyone that made it worth going there.

What a wonderful place to bring our dogs. The staff was so helpful in getting our dogs up to date on everything as we just moved here.

I brought my dog in & all the staff there were really helpful! There wasn’t much of a wait & the vet was very helpful & actually seemed to care. My experience here was much better than at other places in the past. I would definitely recommend coming here!

They are nice and friendly. The only thing that I dont like so much are the prices. They are about $20 more on all their services than most places Ive been too. From the apointment visit to fecal testing.

I wish I could give less than a single star. I took my very old dog in as hed been having diarrhea for days. Due to Covid I had to remain in the car but within 7 mins of taking him from my car the vet was calling to let me know that he could put him on an antibiotic (maybe he ate something) and a pro-biotic. Hed also recommend a blood panel. I got a call before Id left the parking lot with the results but when Id voiced my surprise at how quickly that went I was told there was an emergency and hed have to call me back. Id received a call from the office staff a couple days later in the form of a voicemail. I called them back after the weekend and explained that he was marginally better but wanted the results of the blood work. She told me that someone would call me back. I did receive a call within a couple of days telling me that the day they took blood that were out of the test kit for thyroid and asked that I bring him back in for more blood. Again, no call with results. No call period. A week later I was in CA with my dog and due to his poor health took him into another vet that immediately told me my dog was in pain and had a massive growth in his belly and his colon. Due to his age of 18 they recommended that I help him cross the rainbow bridge. They called Desert Ark to obtain his health record and while I was waiting to be called back to administer the shot surprisingly the vet from Desert Ark called to check up on my dog. I guess the call from the other vet prompted a followup to something. Desert Ark changed me nearly $400 for what they did for my dog. The CA Vet told me that it was clear they had not felt his belly or checked his colon or I wouldnt have continued life for the almost 2 wks between visit. I am so disappointed with my experience that I will shout from the rooftops to please not take your pet here. I have asked Desert Ark for a refund however have heard nothing back.

I would like to start by saying I used to really like this vet for my dog Stella. The staff really used to be on top of things and I felt like they really cared. But I hate to say things have really changed. I called earlier in the week to get my dog’s vaccination records and was told they would be sent. I had to call back 3 more times to get them over and was told it was due to a system change. System change or not, they could have just printed and scanned them and sent them to me via email. It should not take an entire day to get vaccination records when I urgently needed them. They also never called to let me know she was due for a couple expired vaccinations, which they used to do. Additionally, I had scheduled a dental for tomorrow and was told an estimate would be emailed. I haven’t received anything, and never received a call today with pre procedure instructions. Because of this I will not be bringing my dog back. It is very important to know about when to take the food and water away etc and no one called me at all (huge safety concern for my dog). It was quite the drive before but I was willing to make it due to quality of care, but I will not do that any more. I will be looking for a different vet.

This business’ name should be “Desert Ark Money Hospital” ... in my opinion and based on my experience. I can’t believe that they wanted to charge us 1200$ for shots for our 2 puppies where the nearest and more established ones only charged us 180$ !!!!!! Why is money more important than lives I dunno .. adding to that .. staff don’t have great attitude.. WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD BUT PLEASE DONT SCREW US .

Just left today WITHOUT getting any service BUT had to pay $69. For what? A dental exam that basically didn’t happen because my dog was pretty wound up so vet decided to medicate him and look later once he settled down. I had been in in November for vaccines and also gave me an estimate for this dental cleaning. $580. Today they decided to give me new estimate for $900-1200!! AND my other dog had dental cleaning in June which total was $532 AND he got extractions. Office manager tried to explain to me about their packages increased in price or they were having dental specials back then. Let’s just dance around the issue that you are extorting people for this service. Girl went on to say they are a “premium” place? Really? Everyone wants premium for their pets! You’re not in Los Angeles or Scottsdale! You’re in Avondale 🙄. Only reason we even initially came here was because River Ridge Vet I’m Buckeye closed-well Dr Roy retired. Super sad as he had the best disposition and really cared. So did his staff! And he would NEVER extort like this from his customers. Oh did I mention that I was forced to pay $69 for an exam that wasn’t really an exam and medication that now has my dog in a fog. So again extortion. Also my husband is a Navy vet. Always had his military discount in the computer. Today I’m told it doesn’t automatically stay in there and when I pay I’ll need to have his ID. Hmm I don’t carry my husbands ID around with me.Will post this review everywhere I can. Will never set foot in here. And don’t take your pets if you care about them.

We had an emergency situation that brought us to Dr. Velez back in June/July of 2019. Her amazing staff, team and wonderful personality as both a professional and an animal lover convinced us to continue coming back during our pets amazing recovery. Her wonderful employees who remember our puppers and ask about them, her professionalism and willingness to work even with one of my puppers with a bad temperament, and the great techs who care for our pups every time we bring them in are all reasons we will be continuing to come to Dr. Velez at Desert Ark Veterinary Hospital.

Amazing vet, and Ive been to many. Dr. Roy is knowledgeable and the animals love him. All of the staff is prompt and caring. Just because an establishment is full and cannot take new patients, doesnt mean they deserve a low review. It simply means they are a great vet and very busy. Being a private owner gives him the right. Im thankful I was a patient before they sadly had to start saying no. Glad their are many other options for those needing help in our area!

I love this place Dr Veloz is the best veterinarian by far in the west valley she has cared for my pets like her own and the front receptionist devontae he is so kind and loving with all the animals I just love this place highly recommended they helped my baby Jaxx cross the rainbow bridge and were very loving compassionate and caring during that time. They take very good care of my boxer meadow.Meadow is a crazy dog but the staff has been patient with my dog and given him good care.I recommend this veterinary clinic if you live in the area.
